IN CASE YOU MISSED IT……

Hi Everyone,

The concert Sunday at the Coliceo in San Juan was spectacular. Il Volo was at their best and the audience was on fire!

The concert tonight is in Santiago, Chile.

Santiago (Spanish pronunciation: [san̪ˈtja.ɣo]), also Santiago de Chile [san̪ˈtja.ɣo ðe ˈtʃi.le] ( listen), is the capital of Chile and the center of its largest conurbation. It is located in the country’s central valley, at an elevation of 520 m (1,706.04 ft) above mean sea level.

Founded in 1541, Santiago has been the capital city since colonial times. The city has a downtown core of 19th century neoclassical architecture and winding side-streets, dotted by art deco, neo-gothic, and other styles. Santiago’s cityscape is shaped by several stand-alone hills and the fast-flowing Mapocho River, lined by parks such as Parque Forestal. Mountains of the Andes chain can be seen from most points in the city. These mountains contribute to a considerable smog problem, particularly during winter. The city outskirts are surrounded by vineyards, and Santiago is within a few hours of both the mountains and the Pacific Ocean.

Santiago’s steady economic growth over the past few decades has transformed it into a modern metropolis. The city is now home to growing theater and restaurant scenes, extensive suburban development, dozens of shopping centers, and a rising skyline, including the tallest building in Latin America, the Gran Torre Santiago. It includes several major universities, and has developed a modern transportation infrastructure, including a free flow toll-based, partly underground urban freeway system and the Metro de Santiago, South America’s most extensive subway system. Santiago is the cultural, political and financial center of Chile and is home to the regional headquarters of many multinational corporations. The Chilean executive and judicial powers are located in Santiago, but Congress meets in nearby Valparaíso.

Santiago is named after the biblical figure James, son of Zebedee (Sant Iago = Saint Iacob = Saint.

Twitters, Tweets and Keeks:

Gianluca tweeted: ” Greetings from Santiago, Chile.” He later tweeted “Another airplane, another sunny place. I’m lucky I know, but I wanna go home, I miss you know.” Home sickness! Who can blame him? This has been a long tour and they still have a ways to go!!

Piero tweeted: “Santiago de Chile :)” He tweeted later, #limousine #Hummer #redglasses #fun #tour #concert.”

Ignazio tweeted: Los Angeles excisten y dios me dio confirma hoy” Loosely translated ” Angels exist and God gave to me” Remember I said LOOSELY translated!!

  1. I am a researcher at heart, so take this as it comes. Found online
http://www.ansa.it/web/notizie/rubriche/spettacolo/2013/09/28/Volo-tour-album-natalizio_9374320.html. Asked some Franciscans, they are not confirming yet either. If your translator is not working it reads, “(ANSAmed) – ROME, SEPTEMBER 28 – After closing at Radio City Music Hall in New York on U.S. tour made of 27 dates, the trio Il Volo will continue to Central and South America where they will play until November 22, with as many dates. Will return to Italy in late November to present their new album “Merry Christmas-The Christmas Album,” which will be released worldwide on November 26th. The present Dec. 14 in the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in a concert broadcast on RAI 1 on December 25.”

Flight Crew Board, put a muzzle on me if I talk too much!

    1. ( little inside info through Live nation’s rep) This concert was originally to have been at the Vatican but there was (in Sept.) some talk of coming to Vegas just before Christmas. Eventually the Assis got the set-up – so far. There may still be more news.

    2. Lijoy–do you know if this is another album of Christmas songs besides Buon Natale? Or is it once again the same album under a different name? In a different language?
I recall reading somewhere that they had recorded El Triste on a new album that was supposed to come out at the end of the year. I hardly think an album called the Christmas Album would have El Triste on it, and it is hard to believe there is another new one coming out (although we would all love it if there was another one!!)

      1. Buon Natale is Merry Christmas. Sorry I translated everything from the Italian, well not be but my translator. From what I gather, Buon Natale was only released in the U.S and Canada in October and everywhere else worldwide.

      2. Thanks for clearing that up! I am very happy it is Buon Natale. I am totally fed up with the record company releasing and releasing the same material under different names–or half old and half new. I have 5 Il VOlo CDs–and they are all different. One has some of the tracks from last years Christmas album. One has Tous Les Visages de L’Amour–and I have to confess that is why I bought that one, one is in Spanish, and one is live from the Filmore, and one is the special edition!
Does anyone know when the new CD–not Buon Natale in any form–but the one with the new material–is supposed to come out?

      3. In terms of the new album that they are working on, the one that they flew back to Miami to record, that is not due until probably April/May 2014 or later. If what I have read is correct, after Christmas they are touring Europe and Asia in support of We Are Love. Again that can change too!

  2. re: Buenos Aires – Based upon my experience there, this should be the most culturally sophisticated of the tour cities. This is one of the great cities of the world – artistically, culturally and muscially. – on a par with major American and European cities. Three concerts in the same place -good and bad – bad from standpoint of wear on the voice but very good from the standpoint that they don’t have to load and unload and reload, etc and change hotels each time. More calm this way and more time to themselves ( whew ! ) Based upon Gianluca’s tweet of being homesick and the fact that they still look tired in some photos the “mother hen” ( father-hen ? ? ) in me comes out first. This tour should have been ok if they could have had just a few more rest days here and there. The break in Panama was heaven-sent – they needed that. 46 concerts in three months ! I am tired just writing it.

  3. Thank you for sharing this, Linda:
Ignazio tweeted: Los Angeles excisten y dios me dio confirma hoy” Loosely translated ” Angels exist and God gave to me” Remember I said LOOSELY translated!!

I have a friend who is a native speaker of Spanish, and I asked her about the meaning of Ignazio’s Tweet. At first she said something similar to the loose translation. Then I told her that Ignazio’s native language is Italian, not Spanish. She then came up with something that seems to be clearer, like, “Angels exist, and God made known to me today.”

Wow! Ignazio, I totally believe in angels and have been greatly helped by them. Your Tweet has me touched and curious. Whatever your experience was, I know that you and your IL VOLO brothers are surrounded and cared for by angels every day. And you share their beautiful angel energy, uplifting us with your angelic voices!

Thanks to God for your blessings.

    Notte benedetta,
    ~ Jeanine DuBois, Compassion’s Doorway

    1. Jeanine, I don’t talk about this stuff lightly. Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca each have more than one guardian angel. I told them so several weeks ago. They, the angels, are working overtime. Can you tell me it is humanly possible to perform/sing for 46 days for 2 hours plus if you count rehearsals and appearances, in just three months without collapsing? Not including travel, strange beds, and sometimes even stranger foods. Yes, Myron they often look tired, weary, and worn-out. But come showtime they turn it on and give the people their all. We drain their energy even as we lift them up with our love and respect.

      1. I don’t talk about it lightly either, Lijoy. I honor and appreciate your sharing here and your communications with Our Boys about their guardian angels.

There’s lots I keep to myself about such experiences, so just trying to open to whatever feels right in the moment.

My great hope is that their management will work with the Boys and the venue source (Live Nation or whomever) to come up with a much more reasonable schedule for 2014. As I’ve said, there is no rush, and they can set the standard, at least for themselves, if not for more of the industry.

        Welcoming blessings for all,
        ~ Jeanine DuBois, Compassion’s Doorway

      2. I think the schedule has been brutal, since last March, almost, except for that six weeks or whatever it was at the end of last summer – when someone finally let them go home! They have held up well under all that has been expected of them. They literally have them flying backwards and forwards, sleeping on the bus in the air, here one night – there the next.

Gianluca has finally let it all out, “Gianluca Il Volo @GianGinoble “Another airplane, another sunny place, I’m lucky I know, but I wanna go home, I miss you you know.”

I want him to be able to go home too – and Piero and Ignazio!

      3. And actually when they were home for the summer they flew to Rome several times to record new material and then they recorded and did the show with The Pooh. All of this takes rehearsal time also. Mental fatigue is just as brutal as physical exhaustion.

      4. I completely agree! Who makes up these diabolical schedules? And why
doesn’t someone protest? I thought they were going home for a nice long break, and now you tell me they are touring Europe and Asia. They are due for some down time!

      5. That’s right, weren’t they in Bologna and they did the festival at Scala on the Amalfi coast, as well as all you mention Lijoy! Too much!

      6. So they really have had no real down time in about three years. Without some careful planning, one of them is going to wake up one day and say, “All Done”. Singing with as much power and passion as they do no matter how well trained is a strain on the vocal cords. Healing is needed to prevent damage. I think that is what Myron is always concerned about.

  4. Blessings Ignazio! Having known and dealt with Angels all my life I ‘know’ of their existence and am happy you received confirmation that they guard and guide you and your brothers and families. Doubt not, they will not, cannot leave their mission with IL VOLO 🙂 Namaste

  5. Ignazio, your tweet is such a wonderfull confirmation to me because every night before I go to bed I go to your CD cover and bless each of you and ask Jesus to send His Angels to protect you all, so now I know for certain that my prayer is heard.

  6. Il Volo Flight Crew @IlVoloFlightCrw responded to Ignazio’s tweet “Los angeles existen y dios me dio confirma hoy.. Buenas noche..” this morning per Bing’s translation: “Angels exist and God gave me confirms today… Good night…” @IlVoloFlightCrw “@IBoschetto Interesting comment, will you tell us what you mean someday! Sleep well!”

      1. You are welcome – I am curious, of course it may be something very private, and I would never intrude – but I am always looking for evidence of angels! There have been times I think God gave me confirmation too!

    1. I think it is a matter of translation. How about this: Angles exist and God gave me confirmation (of that fact!) today. I wonder what happened…

  7. My bedtime prayer tonight will be: Thank you God for sending us these wonderful young men with their glorious voices. Watch over Piero Ignazio, and Gianluca, and surround them with Your love. Send Your heavenly angels to watch over them and keep them safe. Amen

It feels like our beloved Il Volo has been gone forever. And why is it, I wonder, that I feel they belong to us? Strange, but I have never felt this way about any other group/singer. Not even Elvis!

Goodnight Piero, Gianluca, and Ignazio – sweet dreams!

  8. To Gian, Piero,Ignazio, and all of you here;

“And the night shall be filled with music,
And the cares that infest the day
Shall fold their tents like the Arabs
    And as silently steal away.”
    Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

    Pleasant dreams, Goodnight!

  9. Lijoy I am on your page, they must have a legion of guardian angels supporting them to be able to stand up to that kind of pace they are doing. we are all begging for a more reasonable schedule, their schedule is brutal as mfazzara said. who is demanding this schedule?? I said it already and I say it again to those who set the schedule: :did you see what happened to Michael Jackson? a brutal demanding (money again) which necessitated him taking drugs to cope. has nobody learn’t any lessons yet?? well please don’t let the next lesson be on our boys!. we love them too much to allow that to happen, and if necessary, we will all jump on planes and march in front of Universal Studio’s in Los Angeles demanding better working conditions for our boys. this is not a joke, it is very serious, we cannot allow our boys to be abused like this for the sake of quick fame. they are going to be famous anyway because they are that good

    1. Piero, Gianluca, and Ignazio, when I think of your intense schedule, I am trusting angels and all your loving support team to work with you and your management and record company and venue booking company to adjust your schedule to YOUR highest and best good. If you want to go home before any more touring, you DO know what is best for you, and you can speak for it and know that all is unfolding in perfect timing for you, your careers, and your loving fans. You are guided and surrounded by the loving support of God and your angels.

Here is an amazing personal experience to express what I mean….

When I was teaching high school, I worked very long hours and, for that reason, was unable to add taking classes during the months I taught. One summer I was exhausted beyond the point of health, and yet I needed to take classes to renew my teaching certificate, or else in March my teaching certificate would expire, and I would not be able to teach. I attended classes for a week and didn’t know what to do. I thought, for the sake of my health, I had to withdraw from the classes, even though I would lose the tuition money and had no idea how I would get my teaching certificate renewed by March. I was surprisingly not worried. Somehow I just knew it was what I needed to do. I felt the “peace that passes understanding” (that God and angels make possible), withdrew from my classes, and spent the summer rejuvenating, so I would be healthy and able to teach in the fall.

      Are you ready for this?!
With no input from me, the teaching board *changed the law* to allow for a 120-day grace period, and I was able to easily and comfortably take the classes the next summer and renew my certificate.
I could not have known that was going to happen! I just knew which way I was being guided and that all was well.

I support you in standing for what feels right to YOU. Your angels are 100% supporting you.

Wishing you the peace and support of God’s loving grace,
      ~ Jeanine DuBois, Compassion’s Doorway

    2. I am with you on this Deanne! I can’t believe this schedule. I would love to know who set it up. Probably you are right and it is the record company–who as far as I see it, are milking the fans for whatever they can get. 6 We Are Love CDs! Is that not a tad ridiculous? Yes they are all a bit different. But they could have made 2 and two Spanish ones. They know we love the boys and will buy whatever they put out!

      1. Hi, Penina, I have a hunch about the multiple versions of the CD. Besides the obvious, that we buy all of them! (I do, too!) I heard an interview of Humberto Gatica, the Boys sound engineer and mixer, talking early on about how the boys were signed on the spot for a FIVE-album deal with Interscope. Well, don’t you suppose Interscope knows what a good deal they have with IL VOLO, and they want to make the “five” albums last for more like ten or fifteen by these multiple versions “technicality”.
I’m guessing once they complete the “five” albums, the boys can consider whether they want to stay with Interscope or try out a different record company.

        That’s my guess.
        ~ Jeanine D.

      2. I for one hope they don’t! I think they are milking them for all they are worth. And us too! And I also wonder if they have anything to do with their AWFUL schedule. Not to mention the ticket prices. When Barbra Streisand came to Toronto (which is where I live) the prices for her concert were $500 a seat. Now we love our boys, but they are not in Barbra’s league (YET). Yet that is what they were charging for tickets.

      3. Amazing and ridiculous ($500)!

I agree with you, Penina. I’d love for IL VOLO to go with a record company that is all about respect for the artist, the artist’s wishes and schedule, as well as doing an effective job of advertising FOR the artist. We know that the site Interscope set up for IL VOLO does not begin to do them justice.

I hope IL VOLO knows they pretty much can and should “write their own ticket” when the time comes.

Trusting their angels to help them line up the best situation when the time comes,
        ~ Jeanine DuBois, Compassion’s Doorway

  10. Looking at some of the video from Chile. Ignazio is always smiling and happy. Gian is Gian. Sound quality being somewhat poor, Piero sounded like he was struggling a few times. Did anyone else get that vibe?

  11. I would like to make a question for whom went to Il Volo concerts. Do you think the humor of Ignazio and Piero poking fun of Gianluca before he sings his solo is scripted?

    1. Yes I think it’s scripted, In Miami we saw some of that. I think Gianluca is their best straight man. ( He has always been a great foil for their humor)

    2. If anyone scripted it, it was the boys themselves. I just think they were kidding around one day, and people laughed, so they do the same thing at different concerts. I don’t think anyone else wrote it for them.

  12. Hey Kittykam, thanks for asking and good timing. I may have mentioned closing up the cabin for winter. That’s where I was. I missed you all! We voted on selling the cabin. I was the only one for selling! Told my sisters that I could go to a few extra Il Volo concerts next year with the money, Yeah, they’re scared! I wore my Il Volo t-shirt today when I left. Sort of cemented the scared deal. Plus ya gotta love the eyeball rolling! Good to be home.

    1. Hey, Marie! Perfect timing with Kitty’s question. I was about to email you and ask you if you all is well. Interesting conclusion to your sister time. So glad you’re back and enjoying Ignazio’s smile and rose! (Worked for me, too! : )

      Well wishes,
      ~ Jeanine D.

    1. You’re welcome, Marie! I am touched. And, as they say, “It takes one [jewel] to know one!” (; >)

Make sure you see Ignazio’s Tweet about angels and the earlier one about the poster. So precious!

Love to my iL VOLO sister,
      ~ Jeanine D.

  13. Hey Marie, glad you’re back, have missed you! In reading back posts that you’ve missed you’ll see that we’ve been talking a lot about angels, all prompted by a tweet from Ignazio. Still don’t know the reason for his comment, and may never know, but I feel it created an opportunity for us to know one another a little better and that’s a good thing, I also believe that those same angel whisperings is what brought you to my mind. Anyway, I feel that perhaps the connection between us, and our boys, has been smiled on. Welcome home!

    1. My last angel reference for a while. Kitty you are right about the connection between us and our boys. Those who truly love, cherish, and respect Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca also lend them a little of our own personal angel power when needed. That is why we sometimes feel “lost” when those bonds are loosened. It will get better over time.

      1. Perhaps that’s one of many reasons why so many of us were crying the weekend of Radio City Music Hall. We feel the connection and our angels working together for our beloved Gianluca, Ignazio, and Piero.

As Our Boys said in “IL VOLO Delighted Guatemala on Team IL VOLO”: “We always have a connection with the … public because we are singing to our family.”

        Ahhh…
        ~ Jeanine DuBois, Compassion’s Doorway

      2. You have it. We have talked for sometime about the mystical otherworldly feel to Il Volo’s movement. Some might call us kooks and many will not believe, but I have seen things that would Google the mind. As an aside, but still related my mother was born with a veil and even she feels the rightness of Il Volo.

  14. Thanks for your perspective, Lijoy.

I just shared We Are Love with a friend who had 2 friends just die. He said it was supportive and “contagious”, and he shared it with others.

    Peace to all,
    ~ Jeanine D.
