  1. Happy 2014 to the flight crew and IL VOLO. I am looking forward to their return to the States and hope that they have scheduled a concert in CT again. I have a bus load of people who want to ge to the concert again.

Enjoy your rest and time with your families.

  2. Best wishes to everyone for a very happy and healthy year, filled with love, happiness and lots of music from our favorite singers!

  3. Buon anno to all of you too and thank you for all the pics and poems and info you provide for us about our favorite three angels.

  4. Happy New Year Ms. Crider, Ms. Snyder, Ms. Aitch, Ms. Azzara, and Ms. Tse! Most of all, Happy New Year to Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca! Hope to see Il Volo in concert this year! 😀

  5. Happiest of new year’s to all but especially to the Crew who keep us happy with the news and pictures of the most marvelous voices and hearts in the “wahrlld”!! I’m with Allene to travel as far as I have to to see them!! Chicago or Minneapolis anyone??

  6. WOW! Did we ever joyfully soar into 2014!

I got to meet pirate Connie! It turns out she works a few blocks from a good friend who was also at our gathering.

    Together we played and soared.
…Some set intentions through writing, drawing, or collage-makiing.
…All listened in awe to our beloved IL VOLO.
…Some (yes, me, too!! woo hoo!) danced with swirling scarves to the magnificence of Historia de Un Amor, Torna a Surriento / Surrender, Non Farmi Aspettare.
…A few rocked out to Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree and Feliz Navidad. (They do have the jazziest beats, even if it is January. : )
…Some blew bubbles or balanced a peacock feather while enjoying the music. …rainbows of color!
…Folks munched and visited, took photos and videos, watched the IL VOLO slide show (yes, Ruth, including Ignazio with angel wings!)

…We ended our musical adventures with our hopes for our world as we watched and listened to the grand finale of the December 14th concert in the Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi… John Lennon’s Happy Christmas / War Is Over. (I do believe John was smiling!)

…Connie shared some history of the Basilica and a personal experience. Hey, Connie, how about sharing this with our IL VOLO Flight Crew family?!

…Then came time for the drawing.
Everyone had listed their email, their IL VOLO song of choice in case they were to win, and their preference for iTunes or Amazon mp3. Our winner is now “in the arms of the angel” with IL VOLO!

The invitation said “all welcome ~ kids from 1 to 92”. Well, we exceeded our vision. We had an adorable 11-week old, sure to be an avid IL VOLO fan! up to a very young 70-year-old, with the most vibrant auburn hair. (How does she do that? I’m way younger than she is, and mine is mostly white!)

Decorations included the Disney bag (that “appeared” in the recycling right after I told my mom that IL VOLO may make a Disney movie), an angels table cloth, sweeping gold fabric and lights, and some royal purple flowers.

As we concluded our celebration, one friend read precious words of wisdom about the year past and the new year. Still basking in the glow of the Basilica, we were deeply touched and grateful for her generous contribution.

After so much fun, 4 of us including Connie, went out to lunch and continued the camaraderie. No doubt, there’s more fun to come. I’m likin’ 2014 already!

Ignazio, Gianluca, and Piero… you sure know how to throw a party! What a spectacular time! …No, Our Boys were not there in person, but they were the life of the party! Next year, guys, you can come dance with us!

Love and buon anno to all,

  7. Happy New Year to everyone! That party sounds as if it was a lot of fun, Jeanine.
Santa was good to me this year – soo good that I have a copy of the Buon Natale DVD to give away. Any takers? Jenny.

    1. I would dearly love to be the lucky one. Here in South Africa the Buon Natale DVD wont be made available. Happy to pay any cost incured.

  8. Hey Jenny, How about me! Was suppose to get one from Santa, but he didn’t get my letter I guess. Now I can’t find one anywhere. Sure would like to have it.
Please let me know. Thanks for offering.

  9. I want to wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year!
Jeanine, I have to agree with Jenny, it sounds like you have a wonderful and fun party.

    1. Jenny, Marie, Jeanie, and all,

Thanks for your comments on my party. Honestly, that was one of the most fun parties I’ve ever had!

You’re all invited next year! I’m hoping to get plans made and details out way ahead, so who knows? maybe I really will meet some of you in 2014!

One thing I would like done differently at my party next year…
I want IL VOLO there IN PERSON !!! (; >)
      Start dreaming, guys!
Can you imagine a DANCE PARTY with IL VOLO??!! I CAN!

      BIG Smiles!
      ~ Jeanine DuBois, Compassion’s Doorway

      1. To have il Volo at your dance party would really be something out of this world.

      2. Thanks, Jeanie. I specialize in “out of this world”!
OK, Marie, I know you’re laughing at that one! (; >)

Truly, I’m sure the guys would like their turn to boogie, too!
Remember Ignazio saying “One week ago, did not like disco. Now I Love it!”

Hmmm… this is a good one to daydream about and see how it unfolds!
