~~Happy Thanksgiving To All Who Celebrate This Day~~

Thanks Ann & NIAF

Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. Several other countries also celebrate thanks and harvest around the same time including Canada, Germany (ErntedanFest), Japan (Kinro Kanshsha no Hi), and others.

s - thanksgiving 5Here in the States we celebrate Thanksgiving primarily by eating Turkey and Pumpkin Pie. We also choose this day to eat as much as we can so we can moan during football games. I never understood this tradition, but always participate.

My favorite tradition though is going around the dinner table each one telling why they are thankful.

I asked you last year and I’m asking you again this year, to share in this day of thankfulness no matter where you live and whether or not you celebrate today as a holiday.

Once again I’ll start at this end of our table.

I am most thankful for my family and another year of their good health. What Blessings! Next, I am thankful for Our Boys. Not only because of what they are and what they do, but because they brought all of you here. I have never met finer people in my life and amazingly you all have great taste in music! Of course, I have to add chocolate, trees and dimples.

Your turn and pass the gravy.

  1. I am thankful I have a caring family, & there are a lot of them! I am in fairly good health. I have wonderful friends, here on my IPad & in person! I am so thankful that I found 3 young Italian boys with Angel voices on PBS singing their hearts out! I believe Gianluca, Ignazio, & Piero are a gift from God bringing beauty & happiness to brighten our lives!!! Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone!! 🍁🍂🍁

  2. I wake up everyday thankful for the roof over my head, the food in my stomach,my beautiful family, my wonderful supportive friends both here and at home, the three beautiful boys that have enriched my life beyond my wildest dreams and above all, and most importantly I am thankful for my health and the health of my family and friends.
I am also so very thankful for my entire Il Volo Family and I wish you all a very Happy and “Delicious ” Thanksgiving !!

  3. I am thankful for every person and opportunity that has come into my life. I am thankful that at this moment at 79 I can write this note and enjoy the boys sing.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote:
“For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
    For everything Thy goodness sends.”

  4. I am thankful for my family and friends, my health and that I have travelled to all of my favorite places in the world and the most beautiful music I have ever heard from our Guys and the friends I have made here that understand, as only we do, the love we have for them.

  5. I am thankful for so much, but since I’m writing this here, I’ll mention what few understand. I am so thankful for Il Volo. Before my father died five years ago, he sent me a video entitled “Three Italian Tenors” (he didn’t know). A year ago, while shopping at Barnes and Noble, they were playing this beautiful Italian music. The voices and the music captivated me. I asked what they were playing and it was Il Volo’s Christmas cd. I looked them up on youtube and was so surprised to see such young faces! Being a music teacher I was even more impressed! That begun my “obsession” as my kids call it, with these young men. Yes, they are handsome, but their voices – so powerful, so pure, so passionate. As you might remember they came to my city, but my chorus had a concert that night and I was so sad to not be able to go. I took my German exchange student to NYC and just by dumb luck, Il Volo was performing in New Jersey, across the street from our hotel! And…I ended up meeting them in our lobby (thanks to Barbara for taking our picture). So I am thankful for Il Volo, for coincidences, for being able to hug them and talk to them without paying for it and I am thankful to have been introduced to their music. I only wish I had opened the video from my Dad those many years ago. I could have been enjoying them for much longer! I’ll also be thankful when their Christmas dvd arrives in the mail! Oh! I am also thankful for this blog to get some the behind the scenes news. Thank you for doing this! 🙂

  6. I too, am thankful for my wonderful children, grand children and great grandsons who enabled me to hear/meet 3 handsome PRINCES from Italy last year. I think because they got tired of my gushing about them. They called it obsession. I’m thankful for my families health and mine, somewhat OK. That I found this site for now, I have friends who share the same passion as I do and love talking about them to no end. Thank you my friends, thank you IL VOLO for enriching my life. MAY ALL OF US ENJOY THANKSGIVING DAY with our love ones and be safe.

  8. Every night before I sleep, I thank my Lord for my day and for my family. I thank Him for having three angelic voices born into three wonderful Italian families and allowing the world to experience their joyous sounds. For with the finding of IL VOLO He has allowed all of us to find each other and become a family as well. I hope you all have a wonderful and memorable Thanksgiving.

  9. I am thankful for my renewed love of music all because of Mr. Dimples, Mr.Smooth and Mr ThunderBaron. They make me smile everyday. I am also so very thankful for my chance to see them in concert and meet them afterwards. Unforgettable!
None of that would have been possible this year if not for finding this wonderful FlightCrew of like-minded people who share my love and enthusiam. I also give thanks for having my “milliondollar job” ( worth to me) and all I meet on a daily basis. Blessings to all of you!

  12. Like many I have much to be thankful for, family, friends and my faith. Being alive to enjoying the music of Il Volo is a true blessing. Listening to their voices every night gives me a sense of joy and peace. Special thanks to “The Flight Crew”
for all that you do to help keep our precious boys close to their fans. Not a day goes by without checking this site for news, pictures, comments and chuckles, and I’m truly very grateful . Happy Thanksgiving to all.

  13. I would like to take this opportunity to share with all of you a person I am thankful for finding. She is a writer and I first found her stories last year. She has written 3 wonderful individual stories about “Our Guys”. I fore warn you that these stories are emotionally draining. You will laugh, get angry, sing, and most of all cry. You will find yourself immersed in the story and find it very difficult to stop reading. To get to the stories: Google Piero Barone fanfiction, Gianluca Ginoble fanfiction and Ignazio Boschetto fanfiction. I hope you all enjoy the readings.

  14. I am thankful for my family and that I can enjoy good health, I am also thankful for my Church family and I am truly thankful for being able to see Il volo in concert last year and this year in Toronto with my Daughter and Granddaughter and even was able to go to the meet and greet this year, I feel like all of you are like family because of the love we share for Il Volo and that I can visit this site and talk to all of you. I live in Canada (originally from Scotland) and am grateful to be able to live in this country, I wish you all in the U.S. a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

    1. Yes Marie, I did, I spent time with some of my family and the weekend before I was with the rest of my family, it’s very difficult for all of us to get together at the same time, but I was thankful to see them all even if separately, it’s been really great getting to know you too Marie!!!

    1. I am thankful to WETA (our local PBS station for Washington DC) for finally airing an Il Volo program today – on Thanksgiving! They broadcast Buon Natale twice last yera, but FINALLY, they have it on again.

  15. I am thankful that I am almost over a horrendous cold and will be able to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with my son and daughter-in-law and other family members. I am thankful for my children, seven grandchildren, and extended family and friends. I am so very thankful for Il Volo, who came into my life and brought light, joy, happiness and love when I needed it most. I am thankful for my Il Volo friends, none of them would I have ever met without our beloved Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca. A day without Il Volo’s glorious voices would be a day without sunshine!

  16. Thank you, Marie!
I am thankful that all of our beautiful family are healthy. Am also thankful for my faith and the love of so many Il Volo sisters that I have never met but have a deep and loving connection through our love of Il Volo, who have had such an impact on so many lives!
    Happy Thanksgiving to all!

  17. I am blessed for having 2 generous sons one who has married into a loving & joyful family & the other who has a wonderful & caring partner & who all have enfolded me into their lives. I have a wonderful 20 years old grandson who I love dearly & the feeling is reciprocated. I feel blessed to be still here at 83 & healthy with few aches & most importantly still driving. I have met the Il Volo boys 6 times & seen 8 concerts & I can listen to their music & watch them on the computer anytime I want. There are NO BETTER singers & finer young men on the planet.
They show love & caring to everyone that you automatically pass it on to others. My sons don’t tease me anymore about my Il Volo passion they know I am sincere because when I went to 2 concerts in the States as well as Toronto.
Last but not least I am grateful for the Flight Crew & the hard work they do to get us the latest news on out precious boys & keep us updated & also that I have met so many wonderful people who belong & comment their views & tell us their stories on this site.
I sincerely wish that everyone has a splendid Thanksgiving with family & friends

    1. You are blessed Loretta! Thank you for sharing in our Thanksgiving. Yours was in October along with Annie. I remember you saying you spent it with your son. You are my two year friend and the other woman. I still love you though.

  18. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Pray you’er able to be with family and friends sharing lots of memories and great food. Be thankful for all that you have and enjoy the day.

  19. Thank you all – Flight Crew! For providing me a place to come to share with you the love I feel in my heart for Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio and their incomparable music. Now I also have a huge group of friends to love who love right along with me. I’m thankful to God for putting me on this earth in the here and now to be a part of this phenomenon! Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Love you.

  20. You all are so sweet! Thank you for your generous wishes. 🙂
I’ve loved reading all of the things you are thankful for. It reminds me of the truth of what a friend of mine as been saying on the radio (she is a radio personality) for the last day or so: “Thanksgiving isn’t only a day. It’s a condition of the heart.”
I’m thankful I’m with my family today, even if it is a little saddened with the passing of our beloved aunt earlier this week. I’m thankful for my own health and a job that I love most of the time–and I’m finally caught up on (my board sisters know how stressed I’ve been 😉 ).
And I am so thankful for Il Volo and all of you. And for my board sisters who are keeping things going while I am away.
    Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

  21. Oh, Karen what a treat! Thank you for turning us on to the fanfiction stories about our boys. Last night I read the Ignazio story and will read the others soon. Ignazio was portrayed just the way I would expect him to be. Loved the story. It was late and I was tired when I read it, but your right I just could not stop reading. Great job Ann Babin , thank you!

  22. Hello everyone, I hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. I am thankful for a roof over my head, food and the Love of our small Family. I have a good job that drives me up the wall and works me to death, but I am glad to have one these days. I am thankful for a loving husband that is still alive thanks to the skills of the heart doctors! I am also thankful to have seen live, IL Volo & for the IL Volo flight crew that keep us up to date with news of the boys.
Love to All of You 🙂

  23. I am thankful for MY Il Volo family and friends. I am also thankful that in 2010 I saw Il Volo for the first time on tv and fell in love. They mean everything to me and have helped me get thru rough times. The most I am thankful for are 4 things — 1st is God. I need not even give a reason why to that one. 2nd is my health. I have almost died 3 times and God has spared my life so I may stay down here to do more for him. I almost died in 1999. I had an infection in my leg called MRSA and it spread to both legs, then in my bloodstream. My kidneys were failing and I was just laying on my couch 24 hours a day and sleeping in my own urine. It wasnt’ much as I only pee’d 1 a day. I developed a form of paralysis. I went to the hospital finally and was there 3 months, 3 months in rehab to learn to walk again and use my arms, and 6 months at home with health care visiting. I pulled through it all with God’s help. We all know he is the ultimate physician. I was 36 at the time. Then in 2011 I developed a leg infection again and this time it filled with maggots. I went to the hospital and they thought I would have to amputate the leg but luckily the little bugs ate the bad tissue away and the infection did not reach the bone but did reach my bloodstream again and damaged my kidneys and liver, but again I pulled through. In 2013 , my birthday month of August with Il Volo coming in September, I thought I had the flu and went to the ER and went into respiratory failure and had to have a tracheotomy and my gallbladder, spleen, liver and pancreas were damaged by a blood infection again. I survived. Then this year , in February, I had a brain bleed and luckily I had no damage. I thank all who prayed for me as miracles do happen. 3rd is I am thankful for my mom and that she is still with me. She may be sick but still does her best to help me out. She will always be my best friend and my mother. 4th I am thankful for my BFF who has stuck by me thru all times for 37 years. We met in 1977 in high school and have been together ever since. Her name is Tami and please follow her @tamiharmonica on Twitter and Tami Hignite on Facebook. She needs friends like I have on here also. I would appreciate it. Thanks for everything !!!
