“Il Volo is Coming to Town” ~ Flight Crew Author Anonymous

Here is a wonderful little song I’ll be humming for a while. The answer to the question in the second stanza is “ME!”   Of course I left the first part of her comment in!

Christmas Last Year in L.A.

Hi – I certainly do not want to infringe upon Marie’s beautiful poetry, but while we are all anxiously awaiting the next visit from our guys – to hopefully a town near us, I changed the words to “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” to adapt to the ll Volo version… “Il Volo is Coming to Town…” Here is my version:

“Il Volo Is Coming To Town”

You better watch out!
You better not cry!
You better not pout!
I’m telling you why.
Il Volo is coming to town!

They’re planning their tour,
From coast to coast.
Gonna find out who loves them the most,
Il Volo is coming to town!

From town to town they’re singing
All of our favorite songs.
From Granada to Surrender
We all want to sing along!

Oh, you better watch out!
You better not cry!
You better not pout!
I’m telling you why.
Il Volo is coming to town!

Long musical interlude…

Piero, Gian, Ignazio
We love you all so much
Can’t wait until we see your smiles
Can’t wait to feel your touch!

Oh, you better watch out!
You better not cry!
You better not pout!
I’m telling you why.

Il Volo is coming
Oh yes they are coming
Il Volo is coming to town!

  1. You have no idea how much I want them to come to my town. Uhhh, well, yeah I guess you do. We ALL want them to come to our towns!

      1. Hey Jeanine! Maybe if we got our guys to come to Portland we might be able to get a certain Elaine to come from SF. Oh and what if we could get all the Washington and Vancouver BC folks to come on down.? Who knows, maybe someone as far away as Ohio could be enticed to come! Oh and of course Oregon has the extra enticement of NO SALES TAX… just sayin….dreaming….

      2. Well said, Connie! 100% agreed!

Thanks for your reply, too, Marie. Bet I know which Assisi photo is your fav, Marie. It’s mine, too!!!

Well, burned the midnight oil too much recently, so callin’ it a night super early.

        Love to all,
        ~ Jeanine, Compassion’s Doorway

  2. Thanks for the ‘new’ song. I sure hope they come to Texas and soon.
I finally found the VOTE posting for ‘who will win Sanremo”. Il Volo has the most votes. I sent out several IL Volo Christmas Albums (CD). So far everyone loved the boys. Except my traitor youngest daughter. We are having a Christmas brunch for the Waco families and I am going to play the CD like it or not.

  3. Love it Marie !! I’ll be happily humming this wonderful tune all day and wishing our guys were here to hum it with me !! If they only knew just how much we all love them and miss them !!

  4. Such poetic talent. I hope I can make it to the concert when they come back to the U.S. I will be 86 and will need help. Joanie G

  5. It’s so nice to see them relaxing in beautiful Italia – on the beaches, on the soccer fields, with their families. GG says he has been to forty countries …..and he is still in his teens (until Feb 2015) WOW!

  6. Marie your not being replaced but the lady who wrote the words did a fantastic job. Now that is something to memorize & sing all day. Good job you too Marie as always. Great picture of our precious guys above
Well I’m blocked from voting anymore DARN

  7. Love the song, so fun! I hope they come back to the USA real soon. I am going to a concert next year someway, somehow. I’m probable one of the few here that haven’t seen them in concert yet. I want to feel that excitement of seeing them in person some day. I guess I’ll just dream for now.

  8. This new version of an old song will be stuck in my head for a long time – I have outgrown the old version. But Il Volo fits the tune very nicely. Thanks, Marie. I am so impatiently waiting for the 2015 tour schedule. Want to start making my plans NOW for where I’m going in this country of ours to see my beloved Il Volo. Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca please, please hurry back.

  9. Just finished recording Buona Natale on the PBS channel. I saved it for 1 year so no one can erase it. My grand daughter and her boyfriend just got home and I had them sit with me to watch. No commercial. She is 20 ( Zoe) and he is 22 ( David). Zoe knows how much I love our boys so she asked David if he would indulge me. He truly enjoyed it and commented how good looking Gianluca was and that their voices were of those of older men and not of teenagers. I was so proud to show them off. Now I can watch them everyday. A friend borrowed my IL VOLO DVDS and have not returned them. She will be out of the country until April. She’s had them since June plus 4 CDS. Thank goodness for U-TUBE. Merry Christmas to all.

  10. Yes, she is certainly a talented lady! What a wonderful little surprise to wake up to this morning! Sure hope their new album really comes out in January. I’m surprised we have heard nothing about it at all? I will surely be changing the words now whenever I hear that song…Merry Christmas to all! I’m off to sunny Florida tomorrow! 🙂

  11. Love it!

Marie, did the author swear you to secrecy, or can you share whom we have to thank for these great lyrics?

I remember last year listening to my Christmas music the minute I received my Buon Natale CD. And, Marie, I love seeing the Assisi concert photo on this page. That is by far one of my favorite memories of the Guys. More, Guys, more Please!!!

Wishing us all Joy and Light and Love,
    ~ Jeanine, Compassion’s Doorway

  12. I love this! Great job! I remember in the summer when I found out that they were going to be singing near me, I would sing to myself
“Santa made a list, and checked it twice, and found I’m not naughty (a little poetic license there, lol) but nice, so he’s sending Il Volo to town!”
