Thanks Jana, for the Notte Magica recap. What a year for them and what a year for us in that so many were able to see this concert up close and personal…not to mention seeing it on the big screen in our movie theater! Happy New Year to all the Flight Crew!

Jana, Yes; thanks for posting their itinerary from 2017 which became a bit confusing during the long tour. Don’t know if you’ll see this, but there’s an old record that was recorded in 1959 by an American group called “The Flamingos.” The title of their song is called, “Mio Amore.” There were some great singers and songs back then. Especially thinking of you and Marie and others who are just mad for the precious Il Volo darlins’ and will always be. (Regarding the opening line of the song, you can simply substitute in your imagination a more appropriate ‘Quick Peck on the mouth’, of course!! lol.. 😅). I’d so love to hear Il Volo sing a couple more older, beautiful ballads like this one; just for fun, if nothing else. (‘Keep dreamin’; I know! 😞). Say, Jana, do you expect to post at some point when you can, of course, all the song suggestions from your poll ? Was looking forward to the wish-list of song ideas for Il Volo! 😊 A nice new year to you and all.
Hello Laura! It’s just my guess, but I’m thinking the guys may stick with the newer pop music out there for a while… But, nothing can take away from their beautiful voices on those long notes – there just aren’t usually as many in pop music! 🙁
Funny you should ask about the song choices…. yes, we will be getting pretty dry soon – lol, and I thought I’d have more time over the Christmas break to do some writing, etc., but my plans were foiled by a few things. Also, I’m not sure how, but several persons misread my question on “song choices” and actually listed ones that they had already sung, but I think they meant ones they’d actually like to hear them sing in public. I know I’d like to hear them sing Romantica in public. It’s the only one from the Sanremo disk they’ve never “totally” done in public. Only a verse or so on the Porto a Porta show a few years back. So, in time, yes, I will finish putting together the open responses of those answers. 🙂 Thanks for asking!
Happy new year to our loyal commenters here! It is YOU that really keep this site going, not me pushing buttons…. Right now I’m sitting in my favorite green chair, my kitty, opting to take her nap in the closet, although she was on my lap most of the day. I’ve caught a bit of a virus, a cough, a bit of laryngitis like symptoms, and I just took my temp to make sure I was not running a fever, and lo and behold, I now have a low-grade fever – still under a 100 though! I feel ok, except for this dry cough. However, I must return to work in the morning – I have bills to pay. I have not missed a day of work in 5 years and I don’t intend to start the new year off wrong, besides, I literally can’t afford to be sick! I’ll take some aspirin or Tylenol and I’ll be fine.
I’m so sorry to read that you are not feeling well, Jana. 😘 I do thank you for your reply, especially because of your present circumstances. Yes, the guys will be doing new songs, more than likely! Was just wishing they could slip in another beautiful tune, like “Smile”, but just now and then as a kind of unexpected surprise, for they have the very best voices to resurrect many a beautiful, ‘lost’ song for fans to discover, or fall in love with again. I do realize, though, that my day-dream is a long-shot ! Please, do take as long as you need to assemble the poll’s song responses. Wishing for you to feel 100% all well before the morning. (God, cure Jana; thank You). I remember when you mentioned that great, green chair awhile back. For some reason, never forgot about that green chair! LOL. Jana heck of a way to start the new year with a cold & cough & then having to go to work as well so am saying prayers for a fast recovery so it wont be so hard. Keep looking for a great 2018 & thinking of our precious singers. Thats sure to bring health & happiness.

Laura/Loretta/Joan – you are all so sweet!! 🙂 I do feel much better today, but still have a dry cough and my boss actually came out of his office and gave me a cough drop! Felt like the LIfesavers ad – lol. 🙂 I think I need to be careful though, I may be at risk of losing my voice. Definitely sound like froggy! Thanks!! I did actually go into work at 7a, woke up by my lovely kitty about 4 or 4:30 and could not go back to sleep. Been awake since likely 5am and worked from 7a – 6p. I should be exhausted, but I’m not. Boss is at an offsite tomorrow and Thu, so I’ll be leaving early.

Thanks so much Gale! Today I woke up with a dastardly sore throat, but it thankfully went away. I kept hydrated today with cardamom and ginger tea, which kept down the coughing spells. I went to the store later and found these awesome ginger lemon cream sandwich cookies by Carrs, along with this lemon ginger tea by Stash – delicious! Just 2 more days of work and I can rest on the weekend!
Any clues as to the boys plans for 2018. Could only pray they come back to So. California, soon!!
