GIANLUCA NEW APPEAL – IL VOLO WORLD TOUR: SAN JOSÉ and SAN RAFAEL by Daniela

Unfortunately Covid19 is infecting many people around the world.

The situation here in Italy is very serious. All of Italy has stopped. Everything closed, schools, churches, gyms, cinemas, theaters, museums, airports, stations, many shops, not necessary. From today, all shops except for food (always well supplied) and pharmacies will probably be closed.

Unfortunately, it seems that the seriousness of the situation is not well understood by young people, who continue to go out in the evening. For this reason Gianluca made an explicit appeal to the young people in his area.

I translate for you.

Hello everyone, I too am part of this initiative I HELP ROSETO. It is a situation that we all know, truly dramatic, that affects all of us, and therefore, I recommend YOU MUST STAY HOME. It is a message that I want to send above all to my peers, because it must start with us, the sense of belonging, the community, take care of ourselves, but in particular of the people who are close to us and above all of the elderly.

So please, let’s be responsible, WE STAY HOME, surely there will be many things that we will rediscover, be with the family, give priorities, try to have new hobbies, new passions. There is certainly a lot to do at home, so please, STAY HOME.

I hug you tightly, this too will pass, this moment will also pass.

Gianluca 01

Thanks Gianluca, there are no words, but only to reflect, for the good of all.

The SAN JOSÉ concert was another success, very few videos and photos.

Final greetings

Thank you San José for last night. We are spending amazing days here in the U.S.! Two more shows to go before to come back in our amazing country, facing a difficult time…

But unfortunately, due to recent developments in the spread of viruses, the MARIN CENTER of San Rafael, where Il Volo was to perform tonight, is closed, and therefore the concert is canceled.

Gianluca 03

I am very sorry, for all those who had bought tickets, in time, to be able to attend an evening of entertainment and good music.

Unfortunately, situations are evolving quickly and action must be taken just as quickly.

Only two last concerts are missing and I hope with all my heart that they can be done, but without any risk.

I will conclude by translating this message from the Pope.

A hug from Daniela.

Gianluca 04

“Before you fall asleep tonight, think about when we will return to the street.
When we hug each other again, when, shopping together, it will seem like a party.

Let’s think about when the coffees will return to the bar, the small talk, the photos close to each other. Let’s think about when it will all be a memory, and normalcy will seem an unexpected and beautiful gift.

We will love everything that has so far seemed futile to us.
Every second will be precious.
Swim at the sea, the sun until late, toasts, laughter.
We will go back to laughing together.

Strength and courage!
See you soon.”

  1. How wise and sensible Gianluca is. I hope the youth of
Italy heed his words for their own safety and that of the whole country. So pleased that you are ok Daniela, and I pray you stay healthy at this difficult time.
    Hugs, Marion

  2. Hope this virus goes away soon and we could all st start living without fear Thank you il volo for doing what you do and also to ilvolovers who help me during my fear and anxiety love you il volo and ilvolovers

    1. Bless you Lucia. I’ve suffered from fear and anxiety for over a year and I know how support can “mean the world”.

  3. What a remarkable young man with such wise words.❤️❤️🇮🇹🇮🇹I pray that they can make it home safe. Praying for Italy and the world.

  4. Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio are always wise and concerned about people around them. I hope they stay healthy for the remaining days of their stay in the United States. Does anyone know if the Il Volo team will be able to return to Italy because of the lock down situation there? I am sure they are anxious about their families and want to be close to them. I have been able to see them recently twice in the US and they gave us amazing shows in spite of all the distractions they must be feeling for themselves and their loved ones. Daniela, sending prayers for you and your family at this difficult time.

    1. I am praying for them and wondering also if they will stay in the USA. I’m sure they want to go home, but with a quarter of the country affected, is it safe. Praying!

    2. Janet, you asked a question I can’t answer, if the boys manage to go home, of course they will, but I think they will have a lot of problems with the return too. We’ll see.
Thanks for your interest in my family, everything is ok.

  5. Daniela, thank you for your tireless work to keep us up on information about “our boys” and their families. Your dedication to our support of them and us is appreciated. Hearing a message from Il Volo through Gianluca expresses just how Italians come together and care for each other. My love and prayers are with them.

  6. I was fortunate to see them in Mesa, Arizona. My words to them is love. All they do for others with their gift is a joy to hold onto and thank them. I ask all who are waiting to see them here in the U.S. if the virus is spreading as rapidly as they say, then stop the concerts, let our guys have some down time… their system has to be tired performing all the shows they have been doing. Let’s keep them safe and you as well. Gianluca, Piero, Ignazio are a gift from God, his angels so to speak, they bring joy and comfort to all of us. They need rest and relaxation from the fear this virus is spreading far and wide. Be not dismayed, they will honor their promises to perform when it is safe to do so. I love Il Volo as I love my children and grandchildren and I hope you do also. Do not demand they perform when danger is lurking…. keep it safe and them safe for another time. Thank You IL Volo, you make my world a beautiful place and I thank you for your lovely voices and songs. May God watch over and protect you. May he protect me also to see you another time. Big hugs and love to “my guys: somethin about my guys!

    1. Yes, Sassylady, you were lucky enough to be able to see and meet them in Mesa.
I really hope they can finish the last two concerts.
      Fingers crossed.

  7. Ciao a tutti! Daniela, hope you, family and friends continue to stay healthy!

First 2 official cases have hit Michigan! 🙁

    Still plan on Vegas!

    1. Hi Jana, yes, my family is fine, and everything is ok.
I just heard from Jeanette and Deborah, they’re on their way to Las Vegas.
My thought is with you, have fun.

In the municipality of Brescia 1000 cases.

  8. I’m so happy that you and your family are well. Keeping you, Piero, Ignazio, Gianluca and Italy in my prayers. We will certainly get through this. It was a lovely message from Gianluca showing his concern. All three are so caring and wise beyond their years. I am sorry for those who are missing the concert in San Raphael. I know they must be very disappointed!

    1. I too feel sorry for San Rafael, Margaret.
Thanks for the interest of my family. Here in Italy there is a slogan:
ANDRA’ TUTTO BENE (Everything will be fine)

    2. I too am sorry for the people of San Raphael that did not get to see the concert.
In the video Gianluca looked so tired, so I hope they will take this time to get some good rest. I hope God will continue to bless them and keep them safe🙏

      1. True Jill. but Gianluca, seemed rather worried, than tired. I don’t think where the guys are right now, they have exactly the idea of how it is here and they will be very tense for their family members.

  9. Gianluca’a message was so heartfelt. I hope it doesn’t fall on deaf ears. The young can feel so invunurable. That comes with maturity I guess. So disappointed for the fans in San Rafael. Especially those that traveled. If it was me, well, I couldn’t bear it. An Il Volo concert is the highlight of the year. Especially after three years! Just a few more days and hopefully they can go home.

    1. Laura, Gianluca’s goal was just that, to be listened to by boys of his age.
So many famous people are making these messages to get people to stay at home. I’m sorry too for San Rafael.

  10. I I thought all of Italy was locked down. Of all the countries icurrently its the one hardest hit. I thought the guys would just be hunkered down where ever it is they are now. I can’t help but think how worried they must be for their families

    1. Connie, from today, also all unnecessary commercial stores (except food and pharmacies), are also closed. I believe that Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca will be very worried about the news coming from Italy.

  11. I have followed Il Volo since They appeared In San Francisco Ten Years ago. Many Years of Enjoyment !!!

Aunque oficialmente no he leido nada. Solo que ahora mismo vuelan a Italia, se puede confirmar esto. Mañana por la mañana saldriamos a Las Vegas. Gracias

  13. Every day the news from Italy and around the world seems to be worse. I applaud Gianluca for speaking out publicly and using his influence amongst the younger people to urge them to stay home. All of us need to make small sacrifices so that we don’t overwhelm the health systems of our countries and force the doctors to have to make the big ones about who they cannot try to save. I did just see a BBC article which mentions that the 10 Italian towns originally quarantined 2 weeks ago are no longer showing new infections. If this is true, it is encouraging news and makes me hope that with the measures imposed over the whole country now, the same will be seen for the rest of the country two weeks later. I also hope that other countries around the world are taking note and will act proactively when needed.

As Italian citizens I’m sure they will not be stopped from returning to Italy, but are there still commercial flights going into Italy right now? They must be so worried about their families – I have they will be able to return as planned.

Please everyone, stay safe. Remember – this too shall pass.

  14. At 2pm Thursday, PBS emailed me and said the concert in Las Vegas has been canceled! At this time nothing has been rescheduled. I would have thought that management would have let us know by now. I left messages for Rose Marie and Jana on the official fan club site.
    So sad.

    1. Thanks Jill. Jana already knows. I just talked with her on the phone. Alicja from Poland first alerted me to the live video from Gianluca on Instagram. I only got to watch a minute or two of it because I was at work. They were speaking in Italian, Spanish and English and they were clearly at an airport but I did not know where. I called The Palms around 6:15 central time and they had received word of the cancellation about a half hour before I called. It is sad. I have waited 3 years to see the guys again. 😭😭😭 I so wanted to meet all of you at the dinner.

      1. Hi Pat,
Yes, I have waited four years to see them again, and this was probably my last chance😞
There are still a lot of questions to be answered like, how did the video vanish? and why didn’t management put the information on the official fan page?

I’m sure Daniela will give us the answers tomorrow.
        😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😥😥😥😥

  15. Jill, the video probably vanished because maybe Gianluca deleted it. I know that past live videos from him were able to be viewed for a period of time before they disappeared. Maybe he chose not to save it or make it available for a while. I’ve never personally done a live Instagram video so I don’t know all the specifics. As far as IL VOLO management goes, I am not happy that no information was shared with fans in a timely manner. As of 10:30 pm CDT the IL VOLO Fan Club page STILL has not posted the last two concert cancellations! Very frustrating! I had to call The Palms Hotel to verify the cancellation for the concert in Las Vegas.

  16. I am glad I did get to see the boys but I feel that we must allow them the chance to get home and help their families and Country. I saw a posting by Ignazio talking about helping the overwhelmed hospital in his home town. Besides we do not know if the Tour cancelled or if each of the venues decided to close their doors. Hope everyone is safe and healthy. I am fighting a huge bronchitis attach and know how confining it can be to be stuck at home.
