This is a topic that is very close to my heart, because unfortunately many fans are falling into the traps of these “false profiles”.
The people who hide behind these fake profiles are shamelessly sneaky, they trick you by often pressing the “friend button”, they make you believe that they have chosen you to have a deeper friendship, and then ask you for money!!
Although Pietro, Ignazio and Gianluca have always said that they never respond to fans and above all NEVER ASK FOR MONEY or to BUY CARDS, many people believe the fakes and even feel flattered by being chosen as friends.
Listen to what Ignazio says. And be wary even if you see a blue check, because there are profiles that have also copied the check.

I myself receive friend requests every day from countless Piero, Ignazio, Gianluca, all fake!!!
Last week, a fake mother named “Eleonora Barone” also asked me to be friends, incredible.
Now they have even made a fake page of IL VOLO and even of Michele Torpedine.
These two photos below were posted by the IL VOLO VIRTUAL TOUR BUS page, to warn that these pages ARE FAKE!!! 🤬🤬🤬
Also Judy, the administrator of this page, posted a long heartfelt comment to warn fans against these scammers.
But how to recognize fakes???
First of all, don’t friend anyone called Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto or Gianluca Ginoble, especially on Facebook, the guys themselves have always admitted that they don’t use Facebook profiles, so they are all FAKE!!
These “fake pages” are almost all created in Bangladesh and have the ultimate goal of making you send money.
Unfortunately I know of several fans who believed these pages and forwarded quite a bit of money, IT’S A SCAM, don’t be fooled, don’t believe what they tell you, unfriend them, don’t fall into their trap!!
The fanpage, IL VOLO SICILIA FANPAGE, from which we often draw for photos and videos, in this video has listed more than 200 fake profiles that it has blocked on its page.
Don’t put “like” (👍) to sites you don’t know because this way you make them acquire money, be careful, don’t be easy prey.
In particular, remember that our boys would NEVER ASK YOU FOR MONEY, even if they were to say they had lost their credit card or been robbed, do you really think that if it were true they would turn to their fans, they always have a staff at their disposal, shoulders for every need, so don’t believe requests for money!!
I also heard that some of these fakes have invented a hypothetical and false fan club card to renew, or they want to sell you concert tickets, so don’t believe anything that doesn’t come from the unique and official profile which is just this:

All other pages or sites are made by fans, as is ours.
There are many serious fan pages, where you can calmly read the news of our boys, but be wary if someone comments on you with the name of Piero, Ignazio or Gianluca, perhaps thanking you for your love, because THEY ARE FAKE PEOPLE who are trying to hook you up and certainly, if you reply they will ask you to follow them on their private profile. DON’T DO IT!!!
Some of them will even look for you on your pages, in this case delete them immediately!!
So don’t follow all the pages of Il Volo that you happen to see, be careful and do some checks.
It’s not easy because I know several people who have always been fans of Il Volo and have been scammed, BE CAREFUL!!

Here is a post from a scammer who says “Today is my lovely sister’s birthday, no one has even blessed her.” This is so stupid! This is a 16-year-old Gianluca with his “then” girlfriend Jessica Brando!! Gianluca has no sister! DON’T FEED THE SCAMMERS!!
Unfortunately, the arrival of Artificial Intelligence complicates things even more, look at these screen shots from a fake video on TikTok, created with AI, of a fake Gianluca with a fake recreated voice asking to receive messages on WhatsApp and Telegram and would like to send you his membership card!!!
HORRIBLE! This is a real scam and if Artificial Intelligence is to be used in this way I would say it is a Scam Intelligence!!! I am speechless!!
Please be wary of fakes, be careful, never send money, don’t let yourself be flattered by these false people who steal identities, passing themselves off as Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble!!!

Hi, I’m embarrassed to say I fell prey to these guys twice in a matter of months! My family was floored! The first time made me physically ill, but I turned around months later and did again, this time losing $4000 dollars in gift cards!!😳🤬 my husband had passed 5 yrs.before and I was lonely and sad, “Gianluca” was sweet, kind and understanding until he wanted me to fund his flight to visit me! That was the first time! The money was lost the second time when our correspondence was less romantic, I told him I loved him like a grandson and he took advantage of that! My kids were furious with these guys and knew they were fake, they helped me get through the whole ordeal and I was and am ashamed of what I allowed these scammers to do to me and what I put my children through. I’ve never been gullible but I am very trusting…not so anymore! With the kids help I changed my email and left FB (thinking about doing it again). I’m back on FB but thought I was being so careful, ITS JUST NOT WORTH WHAT I WENT THROUGH OR PUT MY FAMILY THROUGH…..NEVER AGAIN!!:

These scammers are everywhere – could live in a foreign country, be your next day neighbour or who knows who! Here I’d the process I used!
#1. Go to the police
#2. Change your email address
#3. Delete Telegram, all chat programs
#4. Every time you check your email you will likely see
new emails saying why are you replying – just DELETE
#5. Do whatever the authorities tell you!
They will continually try to make contact as they know you MIGHT break down and answer! DONT DO IT!

Every time you get a notification one of them contacts you, they are likely different scammers trying to get you to keep in contact with them! I used to get requests daily from the “guys” and the only button I press is DELETE. The requests have slowed down as I don’t respond! They will never give up on you as you are so easy to convince!

These singers have lots of money and will never ask for gift cards etc! You MUST STOP BELIEVING WHO THEY SAY THEY ARE! If you are getting ANY responses from them DO NOT OPEN just BLOCK AND DELETE! You will likely receive emails begging for a reply, BLOCK AND DELETE without opening.

I can tell you it is certainly a scammer! PLEASE DELETE IMMEDIATELY. Scammers are very smart and calculating! They know how to get to our hearts, and it is so easy as seniors like us (I’m 77, recently widowed and lonely) who want to believe everyone is honest and caring like us to be perfect targets for scamming all of us! Please remember these facts – Gianluca, Ignazio and/or Piero will never ask for money, cash cards etc. (Each of them are millionaires on their own). They won’t marry us as soon as they receive your money! AND they won’t sell you any of their summer vacation weeks and then I can travel with them to see their favorite spots all over the world! ( that was one story I fell for)!

I have had a lot of messages from a scammer saying they are Gianluca and Piero. Fortunately I haven’t fallen for there requests etc. A video was put on from Ignazio to please ignore the scammers Il Volo do not need money and just want the fans love.
I have reported a lot of these to the manager Michele, who confirmed that the boys do not use Facebook and won’t give any information on apps etc,they only say you can follow on Instagram. It’s so bad and sad how people can do this to innocent people.

Hello Daniela – You are doing all in your power to help us all & like Gary Istock you need to be congratulated for doing an honourable job – first – there are many different scams & not all have anything to do with IL Volo – companies being used as fronts for scams [Fedex] comes to mind – scammers hack your ‘PC’ – infiltrate your friends list & the rest is history – I was scammed in 2019 through my landline by a scammer who said someone was trying to steal our identity – he wanted me to go to my ‘PC’ – used templates & stole $10,000.00 – unfortunately – these vile low down scumbags pick on innocent people who are trusting – my son who has a University Degree in Information Technology said this sort of thing is World-Wide & right across the Social Media Platforms not just ‘Facebook’ – they will do all sorts of tricks – tell you all kinds of lies to get your money – this waste of a person stole money directly from my bank account – there is more to this story but it is too long to tell here – I – like you Daniela want to help people become aware of these disgusting gutter snipes.
I certainly agree wholeheartedly with your post that scamming is everywhere! I believe a large group of Il Volo fans are being targeted as we felt special one of the guys loved us, at a time we were feeling very lonely! It doesn’t help there are likely some challenges in different languages too!

Or that my reservation is actual…..but I haven’t booked anything, of course they want the money. Linda, from what I understand, you keep receiving messages through your email. It is not enough to delete the messages, you have to block those who send them. I’ve done this on Google Chat and Gmail and it worked. I never received unwanted messages again. I immensely wish that you get rid of these evildoers. Linda, STOP replying to their emails. And if you know how to do it, mark their emails as spam, and then they won’t come to your inbox any more. You have to delete their emails without answering them. Sooner or later they will get tired of emailing and getting no response and they will stop.

Or that my reservation is actual…..but I haven’t booked anything, of course they want the money. In this case we are dealing with Il Volo and there are so many scammers every day and I’m sorry to read that good-hearted people have fallen into the traps. I’m very sorry about the theft you suffered and the postal police often can’t do anything !!

Zangi doesn’t use email address. They give you a phone number and if you delete the app, you get a new number. It’s 10 digits and it starts with 10-xxxx-xxxx . While I’m writing this, I got a message on my screen saying please get card and he would pay me back. Yeah right. I’m in USA and he is on tour

Thank you Daniela and Pat for bringing this vital information about. It’s, however, truly sad that it has become necessary and that it takes place. I am likewise so sad to read that some of you have been scammed and lost money on this account. A rather unpleasant way to learn never to trust anyone.
Personally, I receive several daily friend requests from Piero:/ Gisnluca and Ignazio on my FB profile – and even more ditto are responding to my comments on various pages – not the least on the verified Il Volo profile. Time allowing for it, I report them to FB and write IMPOSTER belie in order to warn others. Unfortunately, FB doesn’t seem to do anything – they even return to me some times saying that they can find no malpractice! Even though I have reported the same person several times.
A good way to establish whether it is a true or fake profile is to look at the date of creation of the profile as well as the number of friends. Most of them are few months old only and the “friends” are often pinups, taken from advertisements and rather odd ones – all indicating that it is a fake profile. Would Piero only have 45 friends most of which are Russian escorts? Probably not – right? It has however, become more difficult to detect lately as apparently you can make new profiles without an opening date – and now a person with a normal name will respond telling you that he/she did just have an close encounter with one of the guys offering to help you obtain a similar experience! They are difficult to report as imposters – or I don’t know how to do it. But as stated here – none of the guys have FB accounts and will never, ever communicate with fans by means of same and definitely never ask for money Hence no matter what they say – they are all fake!
I have a couple of times – out of curiosity – responded and “played the game” to see where it would take me. They are indeed great at avoiding giving you any reply to your questions but rather replay with a question to you instead. One did pretend to be Gianlucas mom – at the end he confessed that he was a man living in Ghana, Africa, and that he did it because he needed money for his family. Normally I stop all communication when they ask me to continue the conversation on another platform and give me a link. I would never, ever dream of clicking any link to someone unknown to me and can only strongly suggest none of you to do neither. But, of course, the right thing is as advised here not to respond at all, not like their comment or anything but report them and delete any requests or messages immediately.

Well I finally did it. My facebook ,instagram, telegram and zangi is gone. Piero asked me for an Apple Card so he can see me and supposedly he is in Miami because they don’t have concerts till 6 or 8 of October. He told me I made him sick because of me saying no. He said he was the real piero but I don’t know . Thank you until something else comes up

Linda we are all trying to help you! If you don’t need your computer for work, can you turn it off for a week or so? I am concerned this issue is affecting your mental health! Do you have a doctor or nurse practitioner nearby? You may find they have some suggestions to help you. I was fortunate to be referred for help and I learned to understand I had followed scammers! It cost me money and you need to understand YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK! I truly believe you need help and it will help you move on! Hugs and love ❤️

I have read enough from Gary and others so I do not answer anyone, however I will comment on something I like but would never ever send money to anyone. Then you have to go to the official store via the link on the next page to buy the yearly subscription. I have purchased a membership before but the last time I tried the English site did not work. As it turned out I was unable to go to a concert that year so I didn’t need the membership.
Yes, Beverley, I am registered with the official Il Volo fanclub on the site that Pat wrote to you, it costs around 19 euros per year but even if it expires (my membership has already expired) it can always be renewed, in fact I will renew it when I have to buy concert tickets. The advantage of that card is that you have the opportunity to purchase tickets before they actually go on sale to everyone, also choosing your seat and you can also participate in the sound check.

Several months ago I got scammed on Ignazio Boschetto Private Chat page on FB. The scammer had me install Telegram to chat with him on which I chatted for several days. He was very friendly and texted every morning. He eventually conned me into sending an Apple Card to ” purchase a new CD and books.”. Eventually I was offered a chance to spend 5 days with ” Ignazio” for $2000.! I then began researching scams and blocked him. Lesson learned.

Firstly until I received a fb friend request I had never heard of il volo. I accepted because we had a friend in common and I thought it was just a regular person. Soon I was getting messages from someone named Piero, he seemed nice so we started talking on telegram. He kept saying he was famous and then started telling me he loved me. It wasn’t long before he needed an apple card which I refused. He became less interested but still texted. Then he said he was on us tour could I meet him. But his manager wouldn’t allow him to meet anyone without a fan membership card. I tried to report the fb page but fb didn’t care. The fb profile is volo8288. Be careful! He has sent me videos of him speaking directly to me, using ai I imagine. If anyone wants the phone number he uses on telegram just let me know.

I too was scammed by someone I thought was Gianluca. I’m 80 years old and I lost my husband nearly three years ago. I’m on my own and Gianluca was so kind, loving and understanding. I told him I loved him as my grandson. He asked me to buy a vip card so he could come and visit me as I couldn’t travel to London. Then I realised Il Volo weren’t coming to London. Unfortunately I sent a photo and he sent me one of Gianluca and of the view from Hard Rock Hotel. I knew they were in Florida at the time. I deleted him from Facebook and Telegram. I hope that’s enough.
