Time passes quickly and there is very little left until the start of the U.S. tour. For this very reason I want to reiterate some important things.
Since there will be new fans approaching the concerts, and certainly these new fans, pleasantly surprised and full of admiration, will look for news of Il Volo on any platform, site, blog, fan pages.
For this reason, once again I want to warn everyone, new and old fans, so that they do not fall into the countless scams carried out behind Il Volo’s back and in particular to the detriment of Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio.

Il Volo, huge scam for fans: many risked losing everything.
— Requests for help from people scammed with this drama are also arriving at ACTA and fans of the band risk falling into the same sophisticated emotional scam.
They are also among the most loved artists of the recent Sanremo Festival. We are talking about Il Volo, the band that literally enchanted the audience at the Ariston theater with the song “Capolavoro”. In the singing competition, Gianluca Ginoble, Ignazio Boschetto and Piero Barone earned a well-deserved eighth step on the podium. Much loved and in demand all over the world, the two tenors and the baritone have an agenda full of commitments and exciting singing appointments.
When you are at the peak of success, however, it is inevitable that mechanisms are unleashed that can have repercussions – and even seriously – on the fans of certain artists. This is exactly what happened for the band protagonist of the 74th Italian Song Festival. Ginoble, Boschetto and Barone, in this case, found themselves involved in a huge online scam.
Posing as the agent of the three Il Volo artists and convincing fans that a “simple” payment would be enough to meet their favorites. By means of bank transfer, obviously, or bitcoin. It might seem like a movie script, but instead this is what recently happened to supporters of the beloved band.
The investigation, carried out by a journalist from Novella 2000, allowed the fake profile of Michele Torpedine to be identified. The latter, posing as the agent of Il Volo, made users believe that, to have a moment face to face with the band, all they had to do was shell out money. We started from a minimum of 2 thousand euros, and then gradually increased the amount if requests from the public increased. And obviously, also based on the time that each admirer wanted to spend with Ginoble, Barone and Boschetto. A huge scam which, unfortunately, has deceived a significant number of people, enticed by the proposal of being able to spend time with the three singers.
Once the wrongdoings of the alleged Il Volo agent had been brought to light, the Novella 2000 staff proceeded to inform not only the investigators, but also the entourage of the band itself. A terrible deception, the one concocted against the admirers of the singers, which saw many people defrauded.
When you are at the height of success, on the other hand, the haters are as numerous as the fans. Unfortunately, predicting the onset of certain mechanisms is literally impossible. The investigation conducted by Novella 2000, at this juncture, proved to be nothing short of providential.
So, once again I want to warn everyone against these scammers who pass themselves off as Il Volo, Torpedine and above all Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble.
Remember that: Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca NEVER ASK ANYONE FOR MONEY
THEY NEVER CHAT WITH ANY FANS BY INVITING THEM ON OTHER SITES
BEWARE OF FAKE VIDEOS spread with their images and voices, where they compliment you and ask you to follow them on private sites. Unfortunately, artificial intelligence allows them to make these fake videos that seem real, BUT THEY ARE NOT REALLY THEM.
Below is an example of a fake video.
Only join credible and series fan pages that do not pretend to be our guys.
Be wary of anyone who offers you (even with the faces of Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca) concert tickets or VIP badges, only go to the official channels, which will refer you to secure ticket resellers.
Don’t like photos that are published generically, only like them on serious fan pages, don’t waste likes on photos that attract you because they are beautiful, but for cheaters it’s a reason to hook you up.
This photo that I attach is false or otherwise falsified.
Don’t friend anyone Il Volo, Michele Torpedine, Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto or Gianluca Ginoble, they are all FAKE!!!
I myself receive friend requests every day from fake Piero, Ignazio or Gianluca, even from Torpedine and even from Ercole Ginoble!!!

The guys also have official Instagram accounts with the blue check mark, also known as the verified badge, which indicates that an account is authentic.

I’ll start with the review by Giacomo Rossi, the good Vocal Coach who also publishes under the name Jack’s Reaction – Vocal Coach. His analyzes are always detailed and honest. Many fans write into our email address with stories of invites and conversations they had with the guys. We even get emails from concerned family members, saying their mother won’t believe it’s a scam, even though they tell her it is.
We also get a lot of requests for their email addresses, and some say they thought they had it and lost it and can we send it to them. I always tell them we have no direct contact with the guys or management and even if we had their email, which we don’t, we wouldn’t send it to them anyway.
It is very sad.

This has happened to me a few times, one saying Gianluca wants to be friends and was rude when I didn’t respond back. And where do you live. I just follow on Instagram sometimes on TikTok, just watch videos on Facebook.
It is happening so much. It is so sad really that this is going on, and especially when money is given by vulnerable people. Il Volo are aware I’m sure. Even after watching Ignazio saying he doesn’t use Facebook etc except Instagram, some fans aren’t taking notice.
They just haven’t got time to respond and just want fans to love them.

I feel l am being scammed by a young man calling himself Guianluca Ginoble. He wants money for some sort of card which will give me access to all sorts of things.
Not sure how to handle this.
The card would not really be of any use to me as l live on the other side of the world. To pay what his Management team have asked for l will have to take out a loan. I am 76 years old the whole thing has got completely out of hand.

After reading your post, please just delete and ignore this is a scam. Gianluca or Il Volo will not ask for money and give any membership cards. I have received loads of messages etc saying they are il volo and ask if I have a membership card. I just delete and ignore. Il volo do not use social media’s. Just follow them on instagram. I have learnt a lot.

Firstly until I received a fb friend request I had never heard of il volo. I accepted because we had a friend in common and I thought it was just a regular person. Soon I was getting messages from someone named Piero, he seemed nice so we started talking on telegram. He kept saying he was famous and then started telling me he loved me. It wasn’t long before he needed an apple card which I refused. He became less interested but still texted. Then he said he was on us tour could I meet him. But his manager wouldn’t allow him to meet anyone without a fan membership card. I tried to report the fb page but fb didn’t care. The fb profile is volo8288. Be careful! He has sent me videos of him speaking directly to me, using ai I imagine. If anyone wants the phone number he uses on telegram just let me know
I hope that this further testimony will open the eyes of all the people who may fall into the network of these fake profiles.

I am trying to convince him he is being scammed but he won’t have any of it and we get into arguments. I am so tired of these scammers ruining other people’s lives.

I don’t usually comment on posts, but I want to thank you Daniella and all others who write for Flight Crew! You all keep us up to date on our boys. It is sad that our world has become full of scammers, not just for Il Volo, but so many others as well. I am so excited that my husband (who is Italian) and I will be seeing them for a second time at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater Florida in March! Keep up the good work!
Thank you Jane for the compliments, unfortunately the scourge of scams is enormous and many people believe it, so we must do everything to warn of this problem.
Oh, how sad that it is necessary over and over having to emphasize the interferences of the many scams and fake pages relating to our guys. What kind of place this world has come to… But thank you so very much Daniela for bringing it up again. Unfortunately, this is much needed as it seems to escalate day for day. I spend quite some time every day reporting fake pages to Facebook and/or to the administrators of various fan sites. However, much in vain, I am to say – as Facebook really doesn’t seem to do anything – or maybe don’t know how to do anything. And the reporting system isn’t very good as it is likewise AI based and you can only tick off some boxes and there is no way you can add more detailed info. In similarity with Daniela I do also on a daily basis receive friendship requests from a dozen of fake Pieros, Ignazios and Gianlucas. As well as numerous “responses” to my comments on Facebook. It is time consuming and so annoying – but I guess there is little to do apart from being totally aware and keep in remembrance the guys’ own words, that:
1) They do no longer have active Facebook accounts *,
2) They will never interact with their fans by means of the Social Media and finally
3) That they will never, ever ask for money in any connection. As Ignazio once expressed it: “We don’t need money – all we want is your love”. Having this in mind, I can only repeat the words of Daniela: Be careful and do only interact on well reputed Il Volo sites the ownership/administration of same is well known to you.
*) Unfortunately, a verified Facebook account (with the little blue mark) in the name of Piero Barone is still active (it has a picture of him on his motorbike as the avatar). This is actually the FORMER official Facebook account of his – but it is no longer run by him – but as I understand under the management of a friend of his. But it is NOT Piero posting or writing in case you should pass by this site. I must confess that it annoys me that it is still around, and I have actually written to the official Il Volo administration about this issue kindly suggesting that this account being closed as, how can we believe them when they tell us over and over that they do NOT have any Facebook accounts and yet one is still more or less active… I have had no response and it is still up running – which, I fear, will only bring confusion about… But I can do no further.
Oh, it is so fun to watch these videos with music professionals/voice coaches interpretations of Il Volo. This time likewise – especially I enjoy the face and comments of the guy from Kenya, who hasn’t the slightest idea of whom Il Volo is. But they are all nice to watch and I soak up happily all the nice words about our guys. And I am glad that they all like the co-operation with Clara – but while I enjoy watching their happy faces on stage and it turned out very well, I must admit that I do prefer the song “just” performed by our guys, as we have experienced this summer at their Italian concerts. They are simply just the best being themselves…
In conclusion I should once again like to take the opportunity to wish all you Americans a fantastic time at the upcoming US concerts. It’s just around the corner – so enjoy, enjoy and enjoy!

Unfortunately, beyond spreading the word, we cannot do much more against these counterfeiters and profiteers of naivety and good faith.

The guy with the HOT CHILI t-shirt was one of the best I’ve ever seen. He guessed that Piero was classically trained and was very pleased when he realized he was. He picked out Gianluca’s baritone without knowing which one he was.

This is a very important message for everyone, it makes me angry to see what’s happening in our world today….. must get at 3-4 message every week from my bank, credit cards…..everyone I do business with, plus FB & INSTGRAM! I always appreciate and value the information you all pass on… a few years ago I had my own unfortunate encounter with a Gian fake, I would never want to do that again! Even here on Flight Crew, a fake Gianluca had slipped into the comments asking to follow him on a private page. Once I read it I told Pat to delete it immediately and she discovered that the message was from Nigeria.

They may think they’re protecting you but really, their answer to you wanting to enjoy your twilight years seems a bit selfish. I will share I have a couple of friends extremely knowledgeable in the field of technology! I was warned to stop following Fan sites. As soon as I stopped following fan Pages the amount of follow requests declined! I get the odd one, never respond and the scammer tries elsewhere.
It takes personal discipline to avoid the boys, however for your respect and decency you must be strong.

Sheila, I concur with you! However, the imposters should not be allowed to “win” making us refrain from following fan-pages. We should all, however, be very, very conscious at all times and carefully investigate the background of any page before we sign up or write our “likes”. I do find though that there are a number of good fan pages out there that are thoroughly managed by the administrators. They are likewise duly stating that they ARE fan-pages, so that you are not in doubt. The major problem in my opinion is, however, the fake individual pages – imposters PRETENDING TO BE either Piero, Ignazio or Gianluca. At times they can be rather difficult to detect, if you do not know the guys well or if you do not use your own sound senses. Hence, I can only recommend always to dig a bit deeper into the pages i.e. click the “about” section that most likely will show that the page has been established few weeks/months ago only or that there are very few “friends”/followers etc. That should always make one alert. Many times the names of the guys are likewise “misspelled” on these pages – looks right at a quick glance but a closer study will reveal that i.e. one letter may be lacking or something. So a thorough check of a page combined with common sense should make it possible to detect the imposters in most cases.
PS: A very sad situation is, however, that especially the guys very own official and verified (blue mark) Facebook account – The Il Volo one – is the one attracting the most imposters! Every time I respond to one of their posts I can be most certain that half an hour later 2-3 different Ignazios, Pieros and Gianlucas have responded to same “thanking me for my love and support – and asking me to take contact to them at a specified link”… It is almost “funny” when you see 3 different Ignazios posting right next to each other on the same post, but it is truly sad and so very annoying. Time permitting I do always respond with the word “FAKE PAGE / IMPOSTER” in order to warn other fans, but I am afraid it is pretty much in vain. I don’t know what to do – but in similarity with Daniela and others here on the page – the least we can do is trying to spread the news that the guys do NOT have any Facebook accounts, NEVER communicate with their fans by means of the social media and most certainly NEVER, EVER will ask for money.

I am guessing you have lots of saved posts from the guys! Please delete them if I am correct. The scammers know how to remain in touch. You can always see the posts from the flight as they are all archived.
One other thing I do is when I think I’d like to add a ‘fan Pagé I go to the fan page profile an look to see when the page was created and often it has 0 posts and was just created! This is a scam fan post – just delete!

Kirsten, what you wrote is true, there are many serious fan pages on Il Volo, but lately, fake pages are springing up like mushrooms that know well how to attract new fans who thus fall into the net.
We must not be reckless and even likes placed at random under a photo are intercepted and used, for this reason it is always better to check where the photo comes from, on which site it was published, or take a screenshot if we liked the photo and avoid the like.
Unfortunately, these are small things we can do, but there are many of us and our voice is making its way, so we keep repeating to pay attention!!

Absolutely Jill, we are talking about Il Volo here, but there are countless famous people targeted by counterfeiters, and not only VIPs, but also fake doctors, surveyors, companies, in short, online scams are the order of the day, as are telephone scams. Artificial Intelligence is getting very very good and unfortunately dangerous. Don’t even push “like” and if, somehow, you do get “involved” with any imposter claiming to be one of our beautiful boys, have fun but stay skeptical and guarded. Sooner or later, “cracks” will show and 100% you will know that you’re “involved” with a fraud and an imposter.

I also like to look at the photos, but I never like them and when I get friend requests from the fake accounts I block them straight away. Now after Sanremo I blocked 10 accounts every day.

I even block their comments on you tube too. You can check how long their on account if you hit more. Gives you dates when they opened accounts and how many people are following them

I saw a video on youtube from78 year old amalia , She is in love with piero and he wanted her to send him money and meet him in Paris. The interviewer veronica got the real piero on facetime and he said they dont write to anyone and it is a scam she got into, He said no way. none of them do it, What he did was give tickets to her and her family for a concert. How wondrtful. She said she loved him and she is 78., She was not upset at all, Watch it on youtube with Veronica and Amalia, amazing

elle nous a menti pour qu on lui avance de l argent qui est parti à ses arnaqueur .. cela dur depuis mars 25 ..

Hello, I experienced something that was so unusual I was shocked at the same time. Someone claimed to be Piero Barone, in order to prove it to me the person send me his passport ID I was totally shocked 😲… I did some research and came to the conclusion I block this individual immediately. The Pass-ID looked so real at you would not think it’s fake. All I wanted to say this imposters come up with new ideas to trick people. It’s a shame we have to be very careful.
