      .
Thank you, Ursula, it’s a beautiful concert, you’ll enjoy it and it will cheer your heart. Best wishes again!

  2. Yesterday night I could see the whole concert on Television. It was great. Daniela I loved it very much. thank you.

    1. Wildly, I also managed to watch it live despite having Christmas Eve dinner with my family and it was wonderful.

  3. Daniela and Pat, Hope you both had a pleasant Christmas.
Thank you both for working overtime to bring us the goodies!
I take this time to appreciate your contributions throughout the year. Looking forward to the upcoming US tour.
    All the best in 2026!

    1. You’re welcome, Martha! I had a wonderful time Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! 🎄😊 I hope you did too!

    2. Thanks Martha, I spent Christmas with my family, I hope yours was peaceful too. Enjoy the Christmas concert and dream that they’ll be there soon!!

  4. Thank you Daniela for this wonderful review. I couldn’t watch the Christmas concert on my TV, but the next morning I was already in front of it on YouTube enjoying the entire concert. So wonderful, our guys were fantastic again. I had the pleasure of attending two concerts this year: Cologne and Brussels. Simply brilliant. Enjoy the holiday season.

    1. Wow, Diana, how nice that you saw two concerts.
Yes, my friend Carmen from Il Volo En Clase immediately posted this video of INCANTO DI NATALE on YouTube, but unfortunately we can’t see it in Italy!!

    1. Hi Janet, this concert was truly a “Christmas Enchantment.” Thanks again for your wonderful Christmas wishes!

  5. Thank you a million Daniela and Pat for finding and posting the concert in its full content. Cannot wait till seeing/hearing it. I hope I can get the Crome Cast to work so that we can sit down comfortable on the couch and watch it on our large TV-screen (instead of sitting in our home office in front of the computer). I am soooo excited.

Wishing everyone at FlightCrew and my fellow fan-mates a continued Festive Season. Stay safe and have a peaceful, healthy and prosperious New Year.

Lots of love – Kirsten, Denmark

    1. Kirsten, we’re all super busy during this lovely Christmas period, but whenever you can and are calm, enjoy this beautiful concert with Steen and then tell me your impressions.

Was mir Sorgen bereitet hat, waren Gianlucas Augen.

      .
Yes Ina, I think the title is very fitting for this concert because it was truly a “Christmas Enchantment”

    1. Gern geschehen! 😊 Das Konzert war wunderbar. Die Jungs enttäuschen uns nie! Frohes Neues Jahr! 🎉

You are most welcome! 😊 The concert was wonderful. The guys never disappoint us! Happy New Year! 🎉

You’ve done a truly excellent analysis, I agree with everything you’ve said. A better Christmas atmosphere couldn’t have been created, and everyone contributed to this masterpiece.
      Best wishes to you too!!

  7. Watching this December 26, 2025 in Michigan (USA)
Bravo, Excellent, deserves to be a DVD!
Performance in The Valley of the Temples was a CD/ Vinyl ?
It a step up to see and hear them sing.
God bless you all. Barb W

    1. You’re right, Barb, this concert deserves a DVD, but I don’t think they’ll make one.
The Valley of the Temples concert is on CD, but only the one recorded for PBS.

Thank you Luz, I reciprocate your wishes with affection!!

    2. Sí Luz, el ambiente navideño fue perfecto y sus voces son las mejores para calentar y reavivar con cariño todos los corazones de quienes las escuchan.

Yes Luz, the Christmas atmosphere was perfect and their voices are the best to warm and revive with affection all the hearts of those who listen.

  9. Thank you Daniela. I just finished watching the concert. I put it on the TV and it was beautiful. I want to thank you and Pat again for all you do for us in keeping us informed about the guys. I hope you both have a wonderful new year!

    1. Cathy, it was a truly beautiful concert. I also really liked the set design with those large windows from which the snow was falling. Everything was magnificent.

  10. This was such an excellent show it deserves to be both a cd and a dvd! The guys were in excellent voice; such a treat to watch and hear!

Thanks and best wishes to all, especially to Daniela and Pat!

    1. I agree, Sally, we’ll see if this happens.
It’s a concert that deserves a lot of praise.
      Best wishes to you too!

  11. The concert in Sofia was a real magic so you can not imagine. The audience was incredable. At that moment I saw with my eyes how much beloved they are. They received so many presents almost from everyone who was there. They are real Italian treasure!
We love them so much! God bless them!♥️

    1. What beautiful words and what a wonderful experience you had, everything must have been enchanting. You’re right, they are very much loved. Even my friend from Spain confirmed that she could see with her own eyes how much they are loved!

  12. Merry Christmas to all, and a wonderful new year with your loved ones. Health and joy. 🥂🥳❄️🎂🦌⛄🎄🥰

  13. Thank you, Ivona, for your beautiful wishes to everyone, and I reciprocate from the bottom of my heart.

  14. Daniela & Pat – how does one thank you for bringing such extraordinary uplifting visuals & loving comments to a world who can not get enough of this gorgeous threesome – when one hears Piero – Ignazio & Gianluca sing – the heart feels so uplifted – how did Michele search out & put together such stunning souls – I am always in awe of their outstanding God-given talent – their tenacity & integrity – but also of you & Pat who have always been inspired to do these Podcasts – what a privilege especially for us in the Southern Hemisphere – knowing full well you have your own families to be concerned for over this Christmas period – you share your gracious love for IL Volo with all of us – we have much to be grateful for – our boys need this relaxing time with their beautiful families – away from the relentless harsh lights of the Arena to relax & recharge – much love & happiness to you Daniela – Pat & our boys for the New Year – by the way I really loved Incanto Di Natale – especially Piero – Ignazio & Gianluca singing ‘Little Drummer Boy’ – a beautiful rendition of an old Christmas favourite originally such by Bing Crosby & David Bowie.

    1. Jude, thank you for your kind and loving words. 😊 It is always my pleasure to help Daniela share the news of our guys with everyone. Sending love and prayers to you, the Flight Crew and our precious IL VOLO, that our new year will be full of peace and love. HAPPY NEW YEAR! 💕😘🎉

    2. Dear Jude, I’m sorry I’m only just getting back to you, but I think you’ll forgive me.
The new year has already begun, and I hope you’ve started it well, but even more important is to continue it well. We’ll always try to cheer you up and keep you informed of the latest events involving our beloved trio, who set so many good examples.
Thank you for your wonderful comments, stay tuned!! Happy Epiphany!!

  15. I can’t thank you enough for the link to their Christmas concert which was amazing.Living alone they are my companions everyday. We don’t see them in England very often.
May I wish you all A Happy New Year, Ctew and followers xx

    1. I’m happy to have brightened your Christmas moments with Christmas Enchantment, Hazel.
Thank you for the lovely wishes, which I reciprocate, and now I can wish you a Happy Epiphany!

  16. Thank you so much, Daniela, and Pat, for this absolutely beautiful Incanto di Natale concerto! My husband and I watched it last night. We really enjoyed it! We love them. Thank you so much for all you do and keeping us informed. I hope you both had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you both a healthy and blessed New Year!

    1. Patricia, I’m so happy you and your husband enjoyed “Christmas Enchantment” so much.
Thank you for the kind compliments, and keep following us. Happy Epiphany!

  17. Il volo posted their North American tour but it’s limited to 10 cities. Are they not visiting Maryland? They need exposure to US audience.

    1. Sonia, for now, those are the established cities, but I’m sure other dates could be added, provided the concert organizers request them.
      Happy Epiphany!

  18. Here I am again. I did finally manage to watch the concert – and indeed it was a beautiful concert in which the guys most certainly proved that they have grown vocally as well as professionally. So many songs performed to perfection. So well done.

However, having said so something vital was missing according to my humble opinion. Sorry, if I am the only one noticing, but I felt the usual “spark” was lacking! Hardly no smiles at any time from any of them – even when Piero was singing a lighthearted easy piece of a Christmas tune he looked as serious as if it had been a very difficult arie, while Ignazio didn’t have that cheeky sparkle in his eyes that otherwise is his “signature “. Not to mention Gianluca that didn’t give us any of his little beautiful shy smiles. There were no joking or teasing or kicking in the butt – nor hugging, supporting pads or kisses. Just a long row of perfectly performed songs. Neither did I find any “red thread” linking the songs together in a theme – and although lovely decorated the venue didn’t offer any of those unique and awesome backgrounds/surroundings as we have enjoyed at their two former x-mas concerts in respectly Jerusalem and the Valey of the Temples. It was flawless and beautifully song, but I didn’t feel the love. And their normally very laidback appearances were all gone. The x-mas repertoire was pretty much the same as they did present us with back in 2013 at their very first x-mas concert in Miami. Albeit very young and much less routined performers back then they brought smiles, laughter and tears about and one couldn’t avoid falling in love with them. I thoroughly missed that feeling in this latest Xmas show though… sorry. Albeit no doubt the guys by now have evolved and reached the full capacity of their adult voices and are much better to interpret ate the content of the songs it didn’t touch my heart the way it use to do. The boyish antics have disappeared.

Sorry, I don’t want to spoil anyone’s excitement – but I felt I had to share this unexpected experience with you

Buon anno – and love from Kirsten🇩🇰

    1. There may have been a difference – especially compared to the concert at the Valley of the temples, where the guys talked a lot about the history of the songs and their own experiences – but I think there’s a reason for it.
They filmed the concert in Sofia just as a part of their tour, instead of a “normal” concert of two hours, they had about three hours to film a Christmas special instead. Not even the people who went to the concert knew they’ll attend a Christmas concert.
As far as I know, Il Volo hadn’t mentioned this anywhere before they filmed it. (In my opinion, they just wanted to go under the radar and as inconspiciously as possible and as far away from Italy as possible – after the *** (insert whatever you want) created such a backslash on social media because of the concert in August).
So I’d imagine they guys had little time, had to do the concert with a foreign orchestra, in a foreign country, so they didn’t make the usual longer intros in Italian. They said something, but then had to also say at least something in English so that the Bulgarian audience wouldn’t be totally lost, etc….
There *was* some joking and some smiles, but it didn’t make it to the broadcast as it was in Italian/English, you’ll see it if you look up individual songs from the concert on YT, rather than the whole concert.

      1. My comment is an observation of what is to come! Obviously there is a new person responsible for booking concerts! There are so many dates booked in 2026, 2027 and no doubt 2028 coming soon! I can see burn out and exhaustion creeping into their shows! Their personal lives will pay the price and the emotional spirit we have learned to love will become lost. Enough is enough – even Taylor Swift and Coldplay didn’t fly all the miles our guys seem to do!

In closing, to Gianluca, Piero and Ignacio please don’t lose the sparkle in your voices, the love of your music and spirit in your hearts be lost in an airplane or on the runway of your next flight.
You are too loved by me and your fans world wide.

      2. I agree Klara, I think that if they had gone into too much detail on the Christmas speeches it wouldn’t have been fair to those who had paid to listen to their concert, as always they made everyone happy and I don’t think they had the physical time to prepare but in any case the result was remarkable.

      3. Sheila, the three of them are now mature men and know that so many people depend on them, so they can accept or deny their presence. They have strong personalities and know their recovery time, and they also know that they need to see their families. So we accept their plans, also because I know from reliable sources that they themselves give the green light to their concerts. Mind you, I don’t mean to say they decide where to go; they evaluate the requests and, based on their strength, decide whether to go or not.

    2. So, Kirsten, where do I start?
The concert was artistically flawless, but have you ever wondered when they were able to prepare all this?
I don’t even think they rehearsed extensively, yet there were new songs, so I admire the fact that they tried to bring new lyrics, even if they were still in keeping with Christmas tradition.
They were abroad where their concert was scheduled, and only a few days beforehand it was announced to those who were supposed to be in attendance that it would last at least three hours and would be recorded for television for broadcast on Christmas Eve.

If you put yourself in the shoes of those who go to the concert, perhaps not everyone would have enjoyed a concert with Christmas carols, but they managed to satisfy both needs.
I saw short videos where they themselves said, “And now let’s move on to the less informal part,” and laughed and joked with the audience. It certainly can’t be broadcast on TV.
Furthermore, even if there were some “cute off-air” comments, it’s not them who decide what to publish or not, but the television staff.
I myself attended NOTTE MAGICA in Florence, and it was July and very hot, and Il Volo sang “Adeste Fideles,” and there were some jokes from the kids telling the audience, “Now we bring you gifts,” but this wasn’t broadcast on TV.

I read a comment from someone who attended the concert in Bulgaria and said the guys were magnificent, the audience loved them and laughed a lot, and tons of people gave them gifts. This person told me they saw with their own eyes how much they’re loved.
Of course, all of this doesn’t show up in the Christmas concert, but it was there, and that’s what’s important.

You have to understand, Kristen, that we also know the various facets of Il Volo, their way of being, their example, their humanity, and they’re an added value for us. But those who don’t know them are drawn to them primarily for their talent, their voices. Then, once they get to know them, they realize there’s much more to them.

What we saw on TV was a formal concert, very beautiful and proper, I’d say impeccable. Anyone unfamiliar with Il Volo will surely be drawn to their beautiful voices.

  19. Thank you for the article of Il volo. I’m watching it now on YouTube. Hope you had a Buon Natale and happy new year too . God bless you and whoever helps you too
    Love Linda from Pittsburgh USA

    1. Piero is singing tu scendi fake Stella .my nonna and I sang it together and now we have sung it in church choir .Thank you for everything you do and blessed 2026 to everyone.
      Linda from Pittsburgh ❤️🎄🎉🙏✝️

      1. For me , Linda, this song reminds me of my childhood. It was the song I sang most at Christmas with my family, and it’s lovely that you and your grandmother sang it in the church choir.
        Happy Epiphany!

  20. Thanks for the responses. Once again sorry if I brought a bit of wornwood into the thread. That wasn’t my intention at all – and I can only repeat, yes, the X-mas concert was indeed beautiful and flawless. If you don’t know the guys nor have attended/watched an IL VOLO concert before – you will be in awe and find it all top. Yet – I was personally surprised as for the very first time ever I didn’t feel them fully in my heart. Reading all the great praises and kudos here and in other posts on FB, I started wondering if I was in the only person in the world feeling this way – was I wrong – or? Hence, I tried to analyze the show to understand what seemed so different this time – leading to my report above and posted only in this media where we do all love the guys and only wish them the best. In spite of your kind responses though – most of which I do fully agree on – I do still think that this concert showed us a new version of the guys and maybe what we are to expect in the future?

Of course not everything happening on stage is brought in TV – the producers decide on the clips and put it together the way they feel like – so I am happy to know that there were more lively moments too. And yes, of course it was an obstacle that the concert was filmed in a foreign country with the need of having the guys speak in English as well due to the audience not understanding Italian. But none of this is really an “excuse” for the missing spark, the missing natural smiles, the missing spontaneity, the missing sparkle in the eyes, Piero’s authentic laughs cracking himself and the other guys all up and bringing the audience to laugh and the usual hugging and kissing or kick in the butts etc. etc. – those things that used to be the signature of IL VOLO. And no “red thread” in the show as the gift-exchanges in Jerusalem and the letter to Santa in Valley of the Temples to link it all together in a natural and fun way. So, this new approach can only relate to either a pre-decided new line, fatigue – or a wrong decision to do the concert like this. But somehow the word “wrong” doesn’t pair with IL VOLO – we have never had an opportunity to label any performances or doings with this word. But the guys and their management are just humans like the rest of us – so, of course, they can also make decisions or priorities that could have been better…

Rumors have been aired during the European concerts that the guys have seemed tired and non-inspired going even to “burned out” or ill. Hopefully, all wrong and just gossip, but yet again as the saying goes: “There is no smoke without a fire”… No doubt they have had a very vigorous itinerary in 2025 with stressful days, constant travels and concert after concert, which would take its toll on anyone! Over X-mas Danish TV has brought several documentaries on world famous stars such as Elvis, Freddie Mercury and Elton John – all showing how they succumb the pressure and end up taking drugs to keep them awake, become alcoholics and suffer from depressions. Awful stories and the last thing we wish for our guys to encounter – but yet again, they are just humans, and in spite of being the three of them able to support each other, after all they cannot avoid feeling the pressure one way or another. The more success – the bigger expectations to their next performance, TV-show and/or new album – which all built up. Maybe our guys have reached the top of their success and now feel an overwhelming responsibility that teares on them? Just thoughts, but….

Back to my assumption that a less good decision has been taken as to this year’s X-mas TV-concert – based on the fact that the contract with Canale 5 was signed two years ago and included the Tutti per Uno concerts and an annual X-mas special. Last year’s lovely Valley of the Temple Concert was a fine sequel to the unique X-mas concert in Jerusalem – so expectations are high to this year’s one. Somehow they might, however, have run out of time and suddenly there were no room in their itinerary – or no time to find inspiration for yet an awesome theme/setting – and everything had to be done in the very last minute making it kind of a “budget” version compared to the previous ones. Using an already scheduled concert gave space in the itinerary, using an already pre-booked venue saved them time and efforts in finding one – hence preparations would be a lot less demanding. Maybe they just forgot about the fact that, of course, the Italian TV-audience expect them to speak in Italian while the Bulgarian audience expect them to speak in English… a clash that had to be solved and could be solved only by having them say as little as possible? But were they good decisions? Speculations on my behalf – but a possible reason? In case of the latter, I find the decision to handle it this way a less good one. A wrong priority. Emphasis should have been made on the contracted Canale 5 TV-show even if that would have meant the cancellation/postponement of a few other concerts. We have a Danish saying going: “You cannot blow and have the mouth full of flour at the same time”. They are huge stars now and can afford to be critical in their choices – and they have to look well after themselves to keep healthy and creative and able to fully deliver.

Well, I said my words and do hope that you will respect that I cannot join in the happy chorus claiming that this was one of their best concerts – I cannot lie. I hope it was a “loner” and look very much forward to learn and hear what they have in store for us at their upcoming concerts and projects. Don’t get me wrong – I love and appreciate those guys to the end of the world – they are still fantastic! And they are allowed flaws.

    Kindest regards – Kirsten, Denmark

    1. Kirsten, I blame it all on TV editing. I have the same feeling about the PBS concerts in the past. They edit out all the small talk and fun and leave the guys just singing one song after another. I have been very disappointed in those concerts for several years. The only genuine PBS concert in my opinion is the first one, when the guys were just starting out and the TV writers didn’t know what they were dealing with. After that they increasingly cut the spoken word and left the music. Glorious as the music is, it alone does not give the flavour of an Il Volo concert. Nor does it give a glimpse into the beautiful personalities of the three of them. I agree with you insofar as I found the concert a bit on the sterile side. As to who is responsible for that, it doesn’t matter much to me. I just hope they get rest and re-energize. And maybe they should realize they are not 15 anymore! And need more time between commitments.

      1. I have to say, Penina, that the last concert I attended I made sure to record a lot of the “inbetween” banter of the guys. Those moments are the unique ones! Their songs are wonderful, but it is what they say that I also want to remember. 😀💓

      2. Thanks for your thoughts Penina. No doubt the TV-editing has had an impact – but the previous two X-mas concerts have been brilliantly cut and they were fun, smiling and spontanious in same – not the least in the one from Jerusalem, which was the best concert ever. But maybe Torpedine hasn’t been involved with this one, as I recall both previous two ones were launched as an idea of his…. If any he knows how valuable the guys’ spontanious and relaxed antics on stage are, a thing a foreign producer may not be aware of? But though they may have limited chatting and song introductions to a minimum due to the language clash – the guys ought to have shined with sparkles in their eyes and big smiles…. Well, we shall only wait and see how the upcoming spring concerts will turn out and hopefully, we shall find them back to their own good selves by then :-). And I fully agree with you – lets hope that they will use the next couple of months to rest and re-energize in order to cope with the next series of concerts. Best regards – Kirsten

      3. Penina, I agree with you. Television editing often undermines the conversations that take place between songs, which we love.

    2. Kirsten, I love the Danish phrase ‘you can not blow and have the mouth full of flour at the same time’! I am still chuckling as I reply! Your responses always are ‘en pointe’ and very honest and respectful! To me, the Christmas special from Jerusalem was by far the best, in my opinion! It is challenging for me to respond to many comments as I am not a Catholic, and can’t speak/read Italian.
I look for concerts which are filled with love, happiness and show a window into their hearts. I love humour and spirit too!
Thank you to ‘pitterpat, Daniela, the flight crew, and all the people behind the scenes – for without you, I would never have fallen in love with Il Volo and the guys! With love and thanks to everyone!

      1. Sheila, thanks for your continued support.
As far as I’m concerned, Christmas in Jerusalem is the best!!

  21. Thanks Sheila for your kind words. I am happy if my Danish saying made you smile :-). I fully concur with you – the X-mas concert from Jerusalem was the best concert ever! It embraced everything an IL VOLO concert should be. The venue awesome and the perfect setting for a Christmas Special, the songs chosen a perfect blend of Christmas related hymns, carols and melodies and some of the best classics and soli from their standard repertoire. They did all look gorgious in their velvet tux – and they were smiling, laughing, joking and teasing each other. I do even believe that their reactions to the presents exchanged were authentic and that they didn’t know themselves what exactly all the gifts were prior to. It was an relaxed affair presented with the deepest respect for the environment, the Christmas theme, the seriousnes of the classic songs and the lightness of the merrier carols – all presented to perfection. Absolutely a prescious concert that luckily I have managed to download and have been enjoying over the Christmas days. Lets hope we shall get more IL VOLO concerts down that line – meanwhile, all the best. Kirsten.

    1. Kirsten, I’m increasingly convinced of the editing and the limited time available on television because I’ve seen some amateur videos of the concert, and after one song there was a very long round of applause, which was cut from the TV, and people continued to laugh, enthralled by Ignazio’s little antics. There was also a moment where Piero dabbed Ignazio’s face with makeup, and people laughed. All of this wasn’t included in the television footage, and also a song sung in a virtual duet with Mina, who for us Italians is the best female singer ever. That’s why I think there was a limited time available for editing, and naturally, the dialogue is the first thing that gets cut. In any case, the important thing is that the three of them maintain their spontaneity and uniqueness.
