Our friend and fellow Flight Crew member, Jeanette Giglio, sent us this sad news.
With sadness I write this post…
Myron Heaton passed on Tuesday 04/28/26 at 10:55pm. He was 79 years old.
Myron was a long-time member of the Flight Crew and an important contributor to this blog site.
I met Myron in 2014 at an Il Volo concert in Griffith Park outdoor theater in Los Angeles.
It was my first Il Volo concert and I saw there was a group of people chatting waiting for the gate to open to the outside theater. I walked over to the group of people that were from the Flight Crew, and Myron was sharing his good fortune of meeting Il Volo at previous concerts.
I introduced myself to the group and said I was from Las Vegas.
Myron introduced himself to me and said he was also from Las Vegas and then asked me if I was interested in working with him to put a fanfare together in Las Vegas.
The rest is history!!!
I lost a good friend.
Please say a prayer for Myron and his family.
GOD bless you Myron, you were a kind and wonderful friend. You will be missed by all who knew you.
I’m so very sorry to hear the passing of Myron. God Bless his soul and Rest In Peace precious friend. he is now among the “living” as we are among the ‘’dying’’.
Prayers for the crew, all of his family and multitude of friends. 💔💔💔
Thank you for sharing Jeanette’s news.
I’ve long enjoyed the Flight Crew’s posts, stories and insights.
Rest in Peace Myron.
The next Hallelujah will be for you.
In 2015, I started following Il Volo, reading every post they published, and here on Flight Crew, I read with great interest what Marie published and Myron wrote.
His comments were always knowledgeable about music and full of admiration and respect for Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca, who were really young at the time.
Later, when I started writing for Flight Crew, I interacted with him through emails related to a post; he was a very kind and knowledgeable person.
I was saddened to learn of his passing.
Rest in peace, Myron.😥
Having been fairly new to ilvoloflightcrw I never knew the man. He must have been a special man to have the current crew so wonderful, caring and kind. It takes one to know one, Thank you Myron for being so special. Rest well, your job is to watch what you developed and listen to the wonderful music. Rest in Peace.
Thank you for your kind words…Thank you for your kind words … Myron loved sharing his musical knowledge with the Flight Crew…❤️

Thank you for sharing your beautiful story Daniela… Myron was a very kind and special man, he loved to help flight crew members and share his love for IL Volo. ❤️
He truly was a great friend…He asked me to help put a fanfare together in Las Vegas…I was thrilled to work with him… It was truly the best joint adventure for us hosting the Fanfare… Myron will be missed by all who knew him… He was a very kind man to all who knew him…
So sorry to learn of Myron’s passing. The fanfare in Las Vegas that you and Myron helped put on was the most special event I ever attended, It was so beautifully put together it was a joy to be there I will never forget that time.
So sorry to learn of the loss of this fanpage’s friend and contributor to the Il Volo Flight Crew blog site. My sympathy also to Myron Heaton’s family. When I re-discovered Il Volo in late 2024, I read he was a voice coach. He also wrote an excellent description of the 3 members’ voice types, a long time back when ignazio, Piero and Gianluca were in their teens. It was quite an education for someone like me, who’s non-musical. To recount/remember, here are his description of the the Tessitura (did I spell it right?) of the 3 guys voices:
“ Ignazio: In North America he would usually be referred to as a lyric tenor. Sometimes in Europe that kind of voice would be called “Spinto tenor” from the italian – “ lirico spinto” – a voice that can float high above all the other sounds but can, when needed, become powerful to dominate. From my personal standpoint as a voice teacher/coach I admire his ability to give enough solid breath support to create gorgeous high notes that are not “forced” but fluid or “ lirico” – lyric. This guy will always be a great tenor.
Piero: in America he might be called tenor to tenor-baritone. In Europe he would be called “Heldentenor” in German – Heroic tenor . This type of voice was made famous by the composer Richard Wagner in his operas. A robust voice with a clarion texture or timbre with unusual endurance. His best example would be Placido Domingo. A voice that can stand out over the chorus if needed. At his age it is possible that his voice will keep dropping in range and he ends up being a tenor-baritone going forward. A lot depends on how he and his voice coach handle the sound which can, if not handled right, become tight and closed in. Piero is a very fine musician and they all have a great voice coach (love to meet him one day).
Gianluca: In America he would be called a “Romantic Baritone” and used as a tenor-baritone in a lot of musical or opera roles. In terms of pure vocal size his voice is the largest with very rich chest resonance which you can hear even when he talks. Of the three he has the greatest vowel control with nearly perfect vowel shape and purity. He has also been working on supporting his “head tone” what some people call “falsetto” which he has used in some songs in this season. His range is huge and dropping even now. Hearing him in March standing just a 18 inches away from me during a quiet moment I heard a huge increase in the richness of his voice. He is lower and richer than ever. What an instrument ! (yes, the human voice is an instrument )”
I am very sorry to hear this news. Myron contributed his musical knowledge and experience with all of us in various posts. And if I remember correctly, it was Myron who sent flowers from the Flight Crew to the Bochettos when Ignazio’s father passed away.
