My First IL VOLO concert by Sheila Kilpatrick

Hi, this is Sheila Kilpatrick reporting on our boys in Niagara Falls!
Some of you might know this is my first concert. I have never seen the guys in person!  I live in Vancouver, had to fly to Toronto then drive with a friend to Niagara Falls!  My friend had never seen or followed our boys!  Her preference in the world of music is very eclectic and heavy base!
When we arrived at the falls, we were given a couple of tickets to a smaller theatre where there were four life-long friends each playing their music which they loved.  They were all playing either drums or very loud electric guitars that blared high range squeaks and sounds not meant for our ears.  We enjoyed some however left when we could quietly sneak out!  The reason I am telling you this is it gave me the opportunity to explain to her Il Volo was totally opposite to what we had just experienced!

Time for sound check!

Very unorganized but as you might expect I was first in line!  I had broken down my fear of needing my walker – thank the lord – it may help you get to where you want to go!  Anyway, I kept asking why others had their VIP lanyards and I only had the one I made??  Kept being told I would get mine at the meet and greet!  OK, I believed them!!  The boys sang a couple of song and changed a few things as it was a new orchestra (wonderful).  Ignazio then left, making dinner I guess, then Piero jumped down and started shaking everyone’s hand followed by Gianluca!! I said to Gian, why no Vancouver? His reply, I love Vancouver a beautiful city, we haven’t been there for a while – NEXT year?? Be still my heart!

The CONCERT TO END ALL CONCERTS!

I attended the Friday, April 4th concert. The guys were all magnificent and amazing and spectacular from our two FRONT ROW CENTER seats! Not sure how that happened but just sat, smiled and went with the flow! As they were leaving, I reached over and shook Gian’s hand and he smiled said thanks to the crowd again and left the stage!
I learned how wonderful Piero is as a singer and personality! His ability to interact with the crowd was marvelous!  His operatic numbers were amazing, so strong and clear and just spell binding for me to listen to – though not my first choice!

Personally, not a fan of appliqué!  The guys shine on their own!

MEET and GREET

I didn’t have the correct armband etc. so was told I wasn’t on the list!  Do you want to see a 77-year-old cry?? I held it in and explained to a lady in the know apparently, was taken up a floor and she said stay here and I did! Then a tour employee arrived and not only was I on the list, had confirmed two days prior etc., I was now in first in line for the photo shoot!
A short wait then the three stars in my life arrived, I went to stand in between Gian and Ignazio, and Gian said see you in Vancouver!  I told him the song Bridge over Troubled Waters helped me during my husband’s passing and said thanks!

WORLD TOUR: BOSTON – LAVAL – NIAGARA FALLS by Daniela

It seemed like yesterday that the U.S. / Canada tour was supposed to start and instead we are already at the last four concerts.
But everything went really well, maybe even above expectations, considering that it was a while since Il Volo had been on tour in these places, but the volovers are lovely fans who do not forget their love for Il Volo over time.

March 31

BOSTON, with this concert the U.S. tour closes, this beautiful final date was held in the beautiful and historic BOSTON OPERA HOUSE.
Our friend Milagros was also present at this concert and will soon send us her impressions with a post!

Read what a beautiful review:

My favorite “happy accident”

by Kat 🌹 on 4/4/25Citizens Opera House – BostonRating: 5 out of 5
I have been listening to Il Volo ever since I “accidentally” stumbled upon one of their televised performances a few years ago. So of course when the opportunity presented itself, I just had to go see them perform live. I am so glad that I did. Not only was the music and performance wonderful, the venue was beautiful as well (I went to the concert at the Boston Opera House). I met some other fans before and after the concert, and I have to say, this group really does have the best bunch of fans—such nice personalities. It was the most memorable and wonderful evening.
At the Boston concert there was the couple Mary and Mark Minton.

What a beautiful experience to see these 3 amazing singers!

Il Volo gave an amazing concert! Their voices were truly magical and they were so charming with their little jokes! Love them! Please encourage them to speak a little more in their mother tongue! We need to make them feel welcome by allowing them to speak freely in Italian. It was an honor to watch them and I hope they will come back to Montreal again! Bravissimi!!

April 4-5

Our friend Judith was at the concert and she sent me this comment:
“This is Judith, I’m on my way home and I’m telling you about the concert at the Niagara Falls Casino. It was my fifth concert and I’ll tell you it was a perfect show, especially because it was the last night of the North American tour before returning to Italy. Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca were so happy and had fun on stage.
I think the concert hall held about 5,000 people and it was sold out.
I was actually surprised they chose Niagara Falls, it’s a very small resort community and there’s only one small airport on the American side.
The crowd was thrilled and amazed by their beautiful voices and delightful presentation.
At the soundcheck there were only about ten people and at the Meet & Greet only about twenty.
Probably 90% of the people at the concert had never seen them before.
The only person I knew and met with pleasure was Rose Marie Paliobeis who is part of Flight Crew, she was with her daughter Christine, we had a great time together.
I’m also sending you a photo taken from my hotel room where you can see the Casino and the writing IL VOLO.”
And so, it seems impossible but the concerts of the North American tour are over.
So long waiting for them to arrive and then it’s already all over.
They were frenetic days, one concert after another, a success of the public who participated enthusiastically and appreciated every song, every moment of Il Volo.
Il Volo published these words and these beautiful photos:
The North American leg is over. The World Tour is now heading to LATAM and Europe!
A big thanks to @trussardi!
And this was posted by Gianluca.
I believe that Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio did not disappoint the expectations of the new fans who approached one of their concerts for the first time and reconfirmed their power, their charisma, their skill to those who had already seen them live.
Like all beautiful dreams, this one is over and remains a sweet memory and a great expectation for the next tour.
They will return, I am sure, because the affection they receive from their fans is remarkable, it is an exchange of love from Il Volo to its fans, but also from the fans to Il Volo.
Now all that remains is to follow them in the various events and knowing their strength, we will not be long without news from them and in the meantime let’s get ready, they are returning to Italy, next appointment: MANTUA!!
See you soon, Daniela 🤗

Another chapter comes to a close: our ninth North American tour in sixteen years of our career. And yet, it feels just like the first. Because the emotion never fades, the excitement never wears off. What changes is the way we see the world, every day we learn to look with new eyes. And maybe that’s exactly what allows us to still be amazed. With great love, Gianluca, Ignazio, and Piero.
