IL VOLO TOUR 2024: JAPAN by Daniela

The start of the Il Volo tour in 2024 starts from the east: JAPAN.

Here are Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero at the airport together with maestro Rota, leaving for the Land of the Rising Sun.
The first concert is in Nagoya, on April 25th, but there is time for some promotion, so here they are on the TOKAI RADIO for an interview.
And here they are during concert rehearsals.
On the evening of the concert, unfortunately there are very few images and videos, and as you can see, the evening’s program includes very classic songs.

A comment from Japan at the end of the concert:
“The Nagoya show of Il Volo Japan Tour has ended.
The overwhelming singing voices of Il Volo echoed along with the orchestra’s performance….it was a truly wonderful performance.”
The next concert is scheduled for April 28th, so there is time to visit this beautiful country a little.
One evening for dinner.
A visit to Nara and the Buddha temple.
In the following video some moments of the trip to Nara.
In the taxi, Piero shows off 5 yen which is considered a lucky charm in Japan.
At the end of the video Piero has the train ticket to Nara in his glasses and he says: “I am going to Nara, sister of Naro (his town), cousin of the Nari and niece of the Naresi (inhabitants of Naro).” 😂😂😂
Only Ignazio can do certain things, to the embarrassment of Piero and Gianluca. 😂😂

APRIL 28  OSAKA

The rehearsals.
The concert.
The Osaka Symphony Orchestra, where the concert was held, posted this:
“Young Italian vocal unit Il Volo with a sparkling and powerful voice, and the warm gaze of the fans, the performance was full of enthusiasm. The conductor was the very cheerful Mr. Marcello Rota. 👍🏻 Thank you so much for coming. ♪”
A collage of songs from the concert. I think you can’t make videos in Japan, so they were taken without permission.

Il Volo conquers Japan:
“Music overcomes the barriers of language.”

Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero flew to the Land of the Rising Sun with their ‘World Tour’ which, which started on April 25th, made stops in Nagoya, Osaka, Tokyo and Sapporo.
The Japanese leg of the Il Volo World Tour has ended which saw Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble return to perform in the Land of the Rising Sun. In fact, since last April 25th, the Italian trio has enchanted the Nagoya audience accompanied by a 54-piece orchestra conducted by Marcello Rota, before making a stop at the prestigious Symphony Hall in Osaka. And again, at the International Forum in Tokyo with the grand finale in Sapporo.
“We came here [to Japan] for the first time in 2017,” recalls Ginoble who, together with his colleagues, took the opportunity to visit the country. “And every time it’s as if it were the first. We always remain ourselves, singing our repertoire. And this shows that it still overcomes the barriers of language. [Japanese] is a culture that has always fascinated us.”
Barone then adds regarding its popularity in the Far East: “They discovered Il Volo thanks to a song we recorded in 2011, which was entitled Starry Night. So, we had the opportunity to listen to our repertoire and also add our unreleased songs such as Grande amore and Capolavoro. The reaction is incredible.”
Now, after Japan, Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero are expected in Italy with Tutti Per Uno, four special concert events at the Arena di Verona – 9 May (sold out), 11 May (sold out), 12 May (sold out ), 13 May. The first three evenings will subsequently be broadcast in prime time on Canale 5 and will see the participation of numerous important guests from the Italian music scene.
“It will be interesting for us to sing a repertoire of unreleased songs for the first time on tour,” explains Boschetto. “We are very happy to bring back to meet our fans and maybe even new people who started following us this year”. In fact, between June and September, the trio will be involved in twenty live dates in the most evocative venues in Italy while in autumn they will be the protagonists of a tour in the main European capitals. The World Tour will continue in 2025 in the USA, Canada and Latin America.
The Italian national news program RAI 1 also published the news:
During the TG1 report, we see our friends Yukio and Kumiko Kobayashi: hello friends, how nice to see you at the concert.
And now a summary of many beautiful moments spent in Japan.
During the visit to Nara, our boys were accompanied by Marco Ferrari, an Italian who acts as a guide in Japan. Marco had met Il Volo two years ago on tour in Japan and a beautiful friendship was born.☺️
Marco published this video with these words:
“The words of Gianluca Ginoble from Il Volo after the day spent with me in Nara. I am truly moved  what can I say, his words speak for themselves. ❤️”

MARCO= How was Nara?
GIANLUCA= I have to thank you because between one date and another, coming here for work we found some time to visit Nara. You are truly number 1, an incredible guide.
MARCO= Oh, thanks Gianluca.
GIANLUCA= It was wonderful. Japan is incredible, it’s a culture that always strikes me, every time it’s like it’s the first time.
MARCO= Thanks Gianluca. I wait for you again.
GIANLUCA= See you soon!

This concludes this beautiful Japanese tour.
Beautiful moments, in different cultures but united by music.
Lots of affection from the Japanese fans and just as much love and respect from Il Volo.
Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca have already returned to Italy, just enough time for a couple of days with the family and then off they go, straight to Verona, the Arena awaits them.
How many of you will be in Verona?
See you soon: Daniela 🤗

    1. Hi Patricia, Pat has already explained everything to you, however don’t worry because there will be many videos and reviews that we will all publish here, follow us!!

  1. Hi Patricia! I don’t know if RAI 1 will make the concerts visible to all or not. http://www.raiplay.it If not then you will have to download a VPN software (Virtual Private Network) to view it. I use Nord VPN and it works well to view the RAI network and other channels overseas. You can try it for free for 30 days then there is a monthly charge which isn’t too expensive. Also sometimes RAI makes the replays available to watch later.

    1. Hi Pitterpat,
I think that the Verona concerts will be recorded by Canale 5, Mediaset and not Rai.

      1. OK MR, thank you so much for clearing that up for me! 😊 I don’t want to misinform everyone.

Yes, Luz, it’s exactly like that, finally even the Italian press (not all, but a good part) recognizes the merits of Il Volo, even the comments of people who are not fans are very benevolent now, recognizing in them three of the great artists and I I’m very happy………….as the journalist Monina said while interviewing them: “in the end knowing how to sing well is recognised”!💖

  3. Thanks to Daniela and Pat – you have done another amazing job to bring everything from this tour together in one location. It makes it so much easier to follow. Our guys love Japan as much as the Japanese audience loves them. Did they sing anything from the Ad Astra album?

    1. You’re welcome, Rose Marie! 😊 I only saw Who Wants to Live Forever in that one photo of the program. No other songs from their new album which I thought was odd.

It was a long post, but we wanted to encompass the whole Japanese tour. Thank you for liking, Ursula ☺

  5. Dear Daniela and Pat, Thank you to both for the wonderful trip through Japan! The guys were amazing as usual! I enjoy seeing the sightseeing they enjoy….Gian seems to be very enamored with the Buddhist traditions, likely due to all his reading! It’s nice to see how he fully embraces their devotional practices. Gian is very spiritual……He’s a very interesting person as well as being very talented!
Very grateful to you both for always keeping us informed! I will be one of the ones watching 🙏🤞on Canale 1 because I start radiation treatments after breast cancer on the 14th, otherwise I would have tried going to the show on the 13th!!🥹
As always love and gratitude, Carol 💖💖💖🎼🎤❤️☮️🙏🙏

    1. Carol, I’m sorry to read that you’ve had this major health problem and need to start radiation. 😨
Just think that a year ago, my son’s mother-in-law also came to Verona with me, she too had breast cancer and will start radiotherapy in a few days.
But think positively, listen and watch the videos of Verona that we will publish, they will keep you company and these moments will pass in an instant! 😉A hug. 💖

      1. Thank you Daniela, I think this may be the easy part! I’m so very grateful that Chemo was not going to be necessary but they will follow up the radiation with hormone therapy! Throughout the last 5 months all the posts from you and Susan have lifted my spirits and of course our boys!…..never a dull moment with them!!💖💖💖Carol❤️🤗🙏☮️🎼🎤

    2. You’re most welcome, Carol! 😉 and I hope you do really well with your treatments! 🙏🏻😘

      1. Thank you Pat, all your photos and videos will keep my spirits up….prayers and good thoughts will also help,!❤️🤗🙏☮️ Carol

    3. My dear Carol, I’m sorry to hear your news about breast canc er. My thoughts and prayers are with you and hope you will tolerate the treatments and that they will prove to be beneficial. Much love, Dol.

Heike, what a shame that no one was able to accompany you to Verona, but don’t worry, we will publish everything we can, nothing will be lost. Stay with us! 😉

  7. Thanks, once again, Pat and Daniela, for a super commentary about our Il Volo in Japan, where they are greatly admired and appreciated, as they should be!

Such talent, poise and general warmness is seldom found in celebrities nowadays. Their honest delight in their audiences is so evident. May they always be the same! Hugs, Dol.

    1. Exactly, Dolores, this is a characteristic that always distinguishes them and that we fans really like. 😍

  8. Daniela & Pat – thank you once again for your beautiful & informative editorial – how stunning the pics/videos are – very clear & as I have stated previously – every pic is worth a thousand words – there is nowhere on Social Media that I know where one can go to enjoy the privilege of spending time with these gorgeous guys & the fruits of your labour – I had to laugh at Gianluca at the end of their

  9. I apologise girls – I did something wrong – what I meant to say was at the end of the Sapporo Concert – the boys were given gifts – Gianluca was given a bag & some flowers – Gianluca opened the bag & peeked inside – I found this little personal incident funny!! – I thought he may have been hungry!! – I loved Piero in his Japanese outfit – the Temple of Naro is very interesting & the boys sitting at the feet of Shin-Sekai – the happy little Buddha – had to laugh at Piero holding up the lucky 5 yen with a hole in it!! – I also laughed at Piero’s quick wit about the ticket he put behind his glasses – he is going to Nara sister of Naro ect. – Piero has an amazing sense of humour – I loved the Osaka Symphony Orchestra with Mr Marcello Rota conducting – supreme listening – the very best & the Japanese fans adulation – I would love to say more – but before I go can I say to Carole – chin up my dear girl & fight the good fight – you will win in the end – last but not least – love you girls for always caring & sharing.

    1. You’re welcome, Jude! 😊 I also saw Gianluca peek inside that one sack and though it was cute! All the guys were so happy to be in Japan!

    2. Yes Jude, there were many pleasant moments in Japan, where the kids were able to visit cities, admire different cultures and religions and even mix in a little humor.
I can say that maestro Rota also had many admirers.

  10. Thank you very much Daniela and Pat for introducing us to the successful IL VOLO Japanese tour. It’s very intense time for the guys. I am preparing for another trip to Italy, starting in Verona. That will be a stop on our way to Tuscany I am very excited and happy. I hope that we will be able to meet in the Arena, at least for a moment. Thank you and see you soon I hope.

    1. You’re most welcome, Jolanta! 😊 Have a good trip! Oh how I wish I was going too…..

    2. Hello dear Jolanta, so tomorrow evening we will see each other, even if only a brief greeting, we will also meet with Kirsten.
So are you going to Tuscany? How wonderful, I’m going to the seaside in early June, it’s my favorite region.
      See you tomorrow, I can’t wait! 😍
