IN CASE YOU MISSED IT….

10/7/13

Hi Everyone,

Last nights concert at Auditorio Nacional was a sell out of 10,000 people. What an exciting event for Il Volo!, it shows how enormously popular they have become.

The Boys are off tonight (they need it). Tomorrows concert, October 8th, is at The Auditorio Banamex in Monterrey Mexico.

Auditorio Banamex (former Auditorio Coca-Cola or Auditorio Fundidora) is an indoor amphitheatre, located in Fundidora Park, in Monterrey, Nuevo León. It was the primary venue for concerts until the Arena Monterrey opened in 2003. The amphitheatre opened in 1994 with a sponsorship by The Coca-Cola Company. When the venue was used less frequently, Mexican financial group Grupo Financiero Banamex, became its new sponsor with a $20 million investment. The venue closed for nearly two years to set forth renovations, which included updating the overall structure of the venue, converting it to an indoor amphitheatre.[1] Additional upgrades included showrooms, a lounge along with other recreational areas.

The venue reopened in September 2010 with a three-month long celebration, featuring concerts by: Vicente Fernández, Alejandra Guzmán, Chayanne, Marco Antonio Solís and Miguel Bosé.[2] The amphitheatre is used for mid-sized concerts, attracting numerous international performers every year.

Twitters, Tweets and Keeks:
Gianluca tweeted last night, “One of the most beautiful of our life!, thanks”
Piero tweeted last night “#sold out, 10,000 people”

Il Volo also received a gold record last night for “Il Volo Takes Flight”

Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio must be having the times of their lives. Mexico so far has had huge sell out audiences. I’m sure as they continue their South American Tour they will continue to bask in the love and admiration of their fans.

Enjoy your night off tonight Guys!

Love and Luck in your concert tomorrow.

  1. Linda, thanks for the info on the next venue and for the update on our boys. I’m so happy that they are having a good time performing to big crowds of very enthusiastic fans.
I’m enjoying the videos , thanks to mundial for posting.

  2. I emailed congrats on the gold record to Barbara and she replied it was not for” Mas que amor” but for the original ” Il Volo Takes Flight”. I don’t know which is correct or is it both ?

      1. I agree. It doesn’t make any difference. I was surprised by her reply because that album is rather old compared to the Ma Que Amor album.
Strange it took so long. a minor point. the big thing is they got a Gold Record – Hoooooooray !

    1. Barbara is correct–she should know! Plus I saw on some site a picture of the award, which clearly states it is for Il Volo Takes Flight.

  3. Don’t get me wrong I am very happy for the boys. But I just wish it was us. I guess you can say I am jealous. I just hope they don’t forget us folks here in the USA and focus all their attention from now on in central and South America.

    1. In an interview they (the boys) said recently that it is easier to get big crowds in Latin America but they work harder to get USA/Canada crowds and therefore appreciate those folks – perhaps even more. From the response I have read and seen from the boys, There will be nothing in Latin America (even if 20,000 people) that will compare with Radio City Music Hall in their memories for years to come.

      1. Until… they have their own concert at Carnegie Hall and Madison Square Garden! (; >)

I am so happy for their awesome news of 10,000 sold out crowd and the Gold Record! I just zoomed in on the photo of them with the Gold Record, and it definitely looks like IL VOLO Takes Flight! Ahhh… which means next year it could be for Mas Que Amor! (; >)

Love and high 5’s to you, Ignazio, Piero, Gianluca! You’re the BEST!

  4. For many artist you can make it big all over the world, but until you make it in the US they are not considered true successes. Sometimes unrealistic but it is what happens. I believe Il Volo is here to stay for the US/Canada fans.

  5. They’re definitely here to stay Lijoy. We wouldn’t let them go anyway! Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden, Grammy acceptance – we can wait. “There’s a time for everyone…”

  6. So proud of our guys! I wish I could’ve been there when they received it. I would’ve been a hot mess; I tear up every time I think about it as it is. 🙂

    1. Same here Kelly. I wish I could have been there too to witness this special moment. Also there are four songs that I really like but were not included at the Concord and Fresno concert that I attended -Hasta El Final, El Reloj, Non Farmi Aspettare, and Constantemente Mia. These songs replace all the English solos and E Piu Ti Penso which I also like. Hmm, I basically like everything they sing! Maybe I should plan for Mexico the next time! Miss you guys…

  7. Have you discovered this recording on YouTube from Monterey?
il volo tributo jose jose golondirna emigro

It’s hard to see much, but Our Guys did a beautiful job with El Triste, and it’s wonderful to hear the waves of cheers and screams with each new IL VOLO brother singing. This experience must have really rocked their world!

    Enjoy!
