  1. I am happy they are getting great crowds. I am also happy to hear back that they are (after a question I asked on email) taking good care of their voices in light of the rather heavy air pollution around where they are now. I am also happy because today – Sunday Oct. 6 – we are now able to set the first actual meeting of the Il Volo fans here in Las Vegas which is set for Oct. 26. We are getting organized a bit better. Curious to see how many volunteers come out.

    1. Congratulations, and thank you for all your efforts, Myron! Looking forward to hearing more as your group progresses!

  2. I’m smiling because Il Volo is doing what they love…and what makes them happy makes us happy. So far it looks like they are having a great time in Latin America and it’s only going to keep getting better.

  3. I’m smiling because very soon I will get my. Bulk. Natalie Cd in mail …also because they are do loved in. South. America too.
om so proud of them. I’m just beaming. And I did not type bulk I typed bulk.this is really annoying. I guess ill just say. Christmas cd

  4. I am smiling because they keep leaving us these amazing little jokes that they do like Gialuca and Ignacio at the piano imitating the Godfather! Gianluca kissing his ring!! It makes me laugh and smile every time I see it – they have so much talent. Love, love these Boys. They make everyone feel so good.

  5. I’m smiling because we have all of these marvelous videos of the songs from the North American concerts that I can play over and over again! I listen to so many of them and carry the songs around in my head all day and it keeps me serene and happy! Thank you, Il Volo, for presenting me with your talent beyond measure…that rapturous sound of music like no other!!!

  6. I’m smiling because my headache is finally at a level where I can function & because being here always makes me smile. 😀

  7. I’m smiling because every time I come on my computer I have my picture of me and Ignazio smiling back at me!! that’s total happiness.

  8. I’m smiling because I listened to Un Amore Cosi’ Grande three times in a row with my wonderful car stereo system. Such harmony!!!

I’m smiling because I just realized a connection between an IL VOLO song and an ELVIS song…
I always notice on the Nobel Peace Prize Concert video what a big smile Ignazio has during “We Are Love” when he sings, “Lift your hands and let your feelings rise. WE’RE LIKE A RIVER FLOWING TO THE SEA. You and me…” (On the studio recording, it’s at 2:56 minutes in.)

Today I caught this similarity, and I’m wondering if Mark Portmann and Edgar Cortazar intended this as a nod to Elvis. In Elvis Presley’s album 30 #1 Hits, he sings “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” At 1:50, Elvis sings, “LIKE A RIVER FLOWS SURELY TO THE SEA, darling so it goes, somethings are meant to be.”

Whether this similar phrasing is coincidental or not, I imagine it would bring a smile to Ignazio’s face, and it surely does to mine!

One more smile… a friend just sent me a note that says, “A Scandinavian study found that the three activities that contribute most to a longer life are singing, dancing and camping.” How cool is that?! Marie, have you got all three covered?! (I do! if cabin camping qualifies. : )

    Beautiful week to all!

  9. I’m smiling because I listened to the solos in the Guadalajara concert and each time they sing them, they just get better and better! Apparently Il Volo’s perfection is endless! SO wonderful…

  10. I’m smiling because our boys had a fantastic concert in Mexico City last night – sold out crowd of 10,000! I find it really endearing when they pull out their phones and take pictures of the audience as though they can’t believe it!

  11. I’m smiling because I read this and you all make me happy! Also because I did not get eaten by big foot, I love my sisters, Ohio State won their football game, our cold climate friends in Mn. get Il Volo up close at B&N and Our Boys are having a great time in Mexico! LIFE IS SO GOOD!

    1. Welcome back Marie, place wasn’t the same without you. I am smiling because IL VOLO got their gold record award last night. Happy for them. Teresa, I too am from Pgh, don’t watch baseball though, if Pirates get into World Series, I’d surely watch. Steelers aren’t going anywhere this year, sad to say!

  12. My friends surprised me with a front row seat for your concert in Connecticut at Oakdale. What a thrill. I am always telling them that you are my Italian grandsons, since we attended your first concert at Foxwoods 2 years ago.. So now you know that you have aa American Nonna. Stay safe and enjoy your tour. Looking forward to seeing you all again when you return to New England. Love Nonna Maureen

    1. Is it really true? Will our gorgeous “Boys” be up for an American Grammy? They certainly deserve it!!!
Barbara Streisand’s Brooklyn special for PBS with them will be aired in Chicago on November 29! Yeah!

    2. Hey, MARTI!
So good to have you here! Loretta was asking after you, and I have been wondering how your concert went! (I looked all over this site to see if there was something I missed.) Hope you got to go and had a fantastic time!

      ~ Jeanine DuBois, Compassion’s Doorway

  13. I have not heard anything. I was just stating the obvious. Marti, do you know anything or are you also predicting the future? If they are I would like to be there! Won’t that be a night?

    Ann, Yea!

  14. Not too long a wait. What song do you think would be up for a Grammy? We Are Love? Wouldn’t that be last year? I Bring you to my senses? All I can think of this year are covers. Help!

    1. Lijoy, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge about the Grammy’s! Great timing, for any of the We Are Love albums fall within that time period.

As far as American Grammy material, what do you all think?…
      – We Are Love
      – Luna Nascosta (As it says on their Bio at ilvolomusic.com
“The outstanding “Luna Nascosta,” … is so affecting that Gatica watched Hidden Moon’s writer/director José Pepe Bojórquez break into tears upon hearing Il Volo’s recording.”)
      – I Bring You to My Senses
      – IL Canto
      – Splendida
      I could go on! (; >)

I wonder what it takes to get nominated. Any thoughts, LiJoy? Anyone?

Just the thought makes me smile!

      1. Usually the record company, producer,or other nominates an artist and their songs. They are then submitted for review. An actual vote takes place to determine who gets on the final ballots.

  15. Wow, Elizabeth! You, go girl! Dreams DO come true!! Sending all my loving support for this dream for YOU and Piero!

  16. I am smiling because, I was able to meet Ignazio, and ALL the parents at the hotel in Wallingford. My friend Janis and I could not believe our eyes when we saw their buses outside!! Also we had FRONT ROW CENTER seats for the concert. I was in shock! I will never forget it!
