LINDA
It’s our FIRST ANNIVERSARY!! It’s one year since this site started!! I’m having a problem wrapping my mind around this. Check these numbers, From 131 Countries we’ve had 344,000 views to this site and over 14,000 comments. Il Volo has done so much to make my life better. From 2011 when I was channel surfing and stopped when I saw this boy with a chubby face and amazing dimples sing his part of “Il Mondo” with such joy on his face. He seemed so surprised that this amazing voice was coming out of him! I then heard Piero and Gianluca sing. I sat there incredulous and knew I had to find out more about them. I scoured the Internet, saw videos and read newspaper articles. I wondered why the whole world didn’t know about them. I eventually wandered on to their website. I started to comment but got nervous about not saying the right thing. As you can see I eventually got over that and over the following months met other people who loved them as I did. I met Marie, Loretta, Kelly, Elaine and Michele and many others. Our banter everyday was so enjoyable. After a while the site changed, making it difficult for us to communicate. Long story short, Il Volo Flight Crew~Share The Love was born. In this post we’re going to hear from the Board members and their thoughts about our anniversary, please feel free to comment on your memories too.

Thank you all for your love and continued support!! Much love to Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca, you are the inspiration for it all!! Linda
MICHELE
My introduction to Il Volo was much as Linda described. I saw them on American Idol and then Il Volo Takes Flight. That was all it took to get me hooked! When I traveled to Italy, we were serenaded at dinner every night and I brought home a lot of music. So I already knew and loved some of the same songs Il Volo sings!
I also took many of the same steps as Linda did to get to know all I could about Il Volo and their music! This included going to their website everyday. I was so excited the day I came home from work and found tickets available for the filming of their PBS specials ‘We Are Love” and “Buon Natale!” As I have said before, I moved heaven and earth to go – even worked remotely from my South Beach ocean view hotel room that was within walking distance of the Fillmore! I met another Il Volo fan from New Mexico on her way to “We Are Love” crossing the street to the Fillmore. We have since attended 3 concerts together, 2 in Philly and 1 in Boston. Incredible isn’t it? Elaine and I were in the audience together at both of the concerts at the Fillmore in Miami and now we know our seats were close by, what a shame we didn’t know each other then! That was the beginning.
When the Il Volo site changed so dramatically, we were ready to make another home for ourselves and others to support Il Volo. Kelly and I had already talked about the idea of a website, Kelly had the technical knowledge to do it! The changes on the official site gave us the push and “Il Volo Flight Crew~Share The Love” and its Board were born!
In so many ways it is hard to believe it has ONLY been one year! It feels like forever really – in a good way! We have all been through so much ‘Il Voloing” together! I have met and actually been able to have a real conversation with Piero and Ignazio on a few different occasions, in the last year, which was really unexpected. I did not know what would develop or how things would turn out – but I must say to all of you and the rest of the Board members, Kelly, Elaine, Marie and Linda – it has been an amazing year!
Thank you all for the love and support you show Il Volo and our website!

Gosh…One year already? Where did the time go? It’s truly gone by in the blink of an eye. Yet somehow, it seems like forever. Like I’ve followed and loved Il Volo all of my life. Which is funny because everything about and leading up to this last year has been a complete accident.
Who would have thought that accidentally seeing a little Facebook ad–the kind I usually don’t pay two seconds of attention to–would ultimately lead to this website? It was that little ad that popped into my head the evening I was channel surfing and accidentally happened upon PBS and Gianluca’s sweet face on the screen…followed by (don’t be mad at me, Guys….please… ) two other baby-faced teens…all three with these big, man-sized voices and…well you know the rest of the story. You all went through the same thing. 😉 I still don’t know how I knew that I was watching Il Volo at that moment; I just did.
Like Linda and Michelle before me, I set myself to scouring the Internet for anything I could find about them. I was thrilled that “We Are Love” was coming out in two days–which I downloaded the minute my eyes opened that morning. Two days later, I downloaded “Takes Flight,” and between the two albums, it was pretty much wall-to-wall Il Volo for weeks.
In my search for information, I of course ran across their individual social media accounts, but didn’t really feel like I could/should join in with the fans that were congregating there at that time (it had been awhile since I was a preteen–I’ll own it), so I was very happy to accidentally land at the old site with all of you–not once, but twice. It seemed pretty deserted the first time I was there, so I’m not sure why or how I found my way back.
I was just as upset when that site didn’t work out but never really thought about seriously doing anything to replace it until my board sisters said it needed to be done. I only knew how to help because I had worked on a blog in the past but was no longer involved because I accidentally upset someone.
So maybe it wasn’t all an accident; maybe it was bigger than that.
Either way, I never expected any of what has happened since. We were just looking for a place to “crash,” but we have a site that is growing in the number of followers everyday. We had the opportunity to meet so many of you this summer, and that was a humbling thing for me. More than a website, I think that we’re family. I know many of us have met lifelong friends here.
I’m posting my picture with Gianluca because…well, I love it so much; I’m not gonna lie 😀 (Thanks Marie!). But more than that, I’m posting it as a symbol of what can happen in one short year. I never in a million would have thought I’d ever be able to have that picture or would talk to Piero or would have Ignazio reach out to me through the fence to hold my hand (well, it was a chain link fence, so it was more like holding fingers, but same thing 😀 ). I never would have dreamed that they would see our badges, murmur, “Oh; Flight Crew…,” and that I would see the lights turn on in their heads. That really happened…with all three of them!
What a year it’s been! Thank you for taking this journey with us; all of your comments mean so much. Marie, Linda, Michelle and Elaine, I’m so happy I get to work with you here and that we finally met in June. It was like we’d known each other for ever, wasn’t it? I’ll have to get down to FL to meet you, Linda! I can’t wait to see what the next year brings!
And to Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca…what can I say? Love you guys, and thanks for making our evening in Elgin so memorable!

~~Kelly
ELAINE
My Il Volo journey started in December 2012. Like many others I came across the Take Flight concert accidentally. I remember the moment exactly. I was channel surfing while walking on the treadmill. Then I stopped on Channel 9 because something got my attention – an extremely good looking young man walks out to the stage slowly, gracefully and he starts to sing…No, stanotte amore, non ho piu pensate a te…Of course I am talking about the song Il Mondo and that’s all it took. One song and it’s love at first sight for me.
Three months later in March 2013, I was so deeply in love with Il Volo I just had to move heaven and earth (as Michele described) and went all the way to Miami for the PBS taping of “We Are Love” and “Buon Natale”. The concerts and our guys were amazing. I was also lucky enough to meet Piero and Gianluca after Buon Natale at the theatre’s back gate. Piero was so funny. He surprised my daughter and I as he came running at us and grabbed my daughter’s cell phone and took a picture with us. I think he must have remembered us from the first night. Gianluca was very friendly and genuine. I was able to talk to him and the whole time he was looking into my eyes (Wow!). This whole experience was mesmerizing and I wanted to share it with the world. So I looked up and found the official Il Volo web site and wrote my first comment. Little did I known this will lead and expand into so much more.
Happy birthday – Flight Crew! Because of Il Volo Flight Crew ~ Share the Love blog, today I have a family that goes far and beyond beside where I live – the SF Bay Area. Today I have sisters, brothers, friends from all corners and continents in the world. This is the place to share my profound feelings, passion, and love for my three angels. I am also grateful and humbled to be included as member of the Board. Kelly, Linda, Marie, and Michele, it has been most wonderful knowing you all. I remember the sadness from leaving the non-functioning official site. I remember the joy on the first day and the first post of our blog. I remember the excitement from the first Skype meeting and learning of our voices for the first time. I remember how we talked and talked, how we laughed and sighed! And finally not long ago in June this year, except for Linda, I met each one of you. It was so surreal to finally meet and see you all in person. Our hugs, our laughter, and our voices are still lingering and fresh in my mind! It truly is the most amazing and emotional year!
I am looking forward to many more years of sharing the music and love for our guys. For those Crew who are already on board, thank you for your support and comments and let’s continue the flight together. For those who are new to the blog, welcome and let’s take off with you together! Again, Happy 1st anniversary and we love you – Gianluca, Piero, and Ignazio!!!
Sincerely, Elaine
MARIE
Could our dream come true
to include all of you?
This new way
for friends to play?
With love on our mind
and determination in kind,
We needed more than a word or two.
Folks, it worked because of you!
You’re here again
with stories to spin
all the love you share
goes out everywhere.
You talk of the talent of three young Guys.
To us it’s really no surprise
That you all cherish them as we do
and write on pages we made for you.
My Board Sisters all live miles apart.
I love each one with an open heart.
I’m proud, so proud, of what we’ve done.
Each day my smile wakes the sun.
Thank you all for giving me
a reason to tell Il Volo history.
My poetry you’ve been kind to read.
It overflows the love I need.
If I live to a hundred you’ll still see
a very, very, grateful me.
Thank You and
Happy Anniversary!
~Marie

Hey flight crew, it’s been such a treat watching this site flourish into what it is today. I am so grateful for your dedication on the site! I am also so grateful that I was able to meet a lot of you! Best wishes for a great following year and beyond 🙂
Thank you Rosana – it was great meeting you too!
Happy Anniversary ladies!! My best wishes to all of you and many more Il Volo years to come! Thank you for your beauiful work on the site. Kisses from Spain
Thank you, Athena! I’ve appreciated your contributions to Lisa’s page–you know that. 🙂
I’ve only been an Il Volo fan a short time. I was SO delighted to find this site and have enjoyed reading the blogs about these amazing young men. Keep up the good work, Flight Crew.
Welcome! We’re delighted you’re here!
“An Anniversary is a time to celebrate the joys of today, the memories of yesterday, and the hopes of tomorrow” Author Unknown
Thanks to your hard work you provided us a place to express our joys, memories and hopes of the three special young men. Thank you and Happy Anniversary!
Thank you Flight Crew and Happy Anniversary!
Marie, how did you do that? You made me cry again! and this time I was sitting in the local health food store dining section! … My favorite line: “Each day my smile wakes the sun.”
One of the hardest things I’ve had to do these last several weeks is not read this blog. (Family health issues and some other major life demands have required my nearly full-time focus.) My mom had her surgery today, so first hurdle passed successfully, and I hope to celebrate tomorrow by starting back on the missed blogs, especially yours, Marie! (Thanks, Connie, for the encouragement to make time for such fun!) And Gerri and Marie, I appreciate your loving, supportive thoughts. (Yes, I peeked at my email and saw the replies.)
Elaine, so glad I got to meet you and spend IL VOLO time with you and Connie! Your jerseys story is one of my favs! It’s very clear to me how dedicated you and all your Board Sisters are to making important decisions with wisdom, integrity, and love. Thank you!
Thanks for including Elizabeth’s original art for your anniversary blog. Sending you love and appreciation, Elizabeth!
Linda, Michelle, and Kelly, along with Marie and Elaine, you each bring so much life and beauty, interest and fun to this blog! Your dedication to our beloved IL VOLO and to sharing the Love with all our sisters and brothers is a bright shining beacon of joy!
For me, I discovered IL VOLO when a colleague (Renee, whom Marie met) shared a link (the EPK) in December 2011, and I hardly minded being ill on Christmas day, as while I cooked, I listened to IL VOLO and compared their versions with other tenors to decide which to give Dad for his January birthday.
Three months after Dad received the birthday CD (which was ALL IL VOLO), my Mom healed from a life-long health condition, in part from hearing the soaring love-joy of IL VOLO every day!
In my Life, IL VOLO is Light, Joy, Love, Hope, Possibility, Laughter, Tears, Magic, Musical Majesty, wonderful friends, and a new sport… Walk-Dancing! I was out Walk-Dancing tonight and rejoicing how I have come so far in my healing. A year ago I was re-injured and was wearing a brace and using a cane. Several months ago, as I was doing better and better, I decided No more physical therapy, No more osteopath. I’m going to let the sweetness of soaring and twirling and moving to the beat of IL VOLO finish my healing. I’m doing so great that now I get an aerobic workout while I celebrate Life and sing and dance with IL VOLO!
Ginaluca, Piero, Ignazio… the Tears are Love. Grazie mille!
~ Jeanine, Compassion’s Doorway
Jeanine! Lovely as usual! I keep saying Our Guys can heal. It’s that special magic only they and God can know. I’m so happy it worked for you and your mom. Thank you Jeanine for being here the entire year. Thank you for your encouragement, praise and directions. You, more than anyone, welcomes our new members with warmth and intelligence. This site leans on you my friend.
Marie, you are so kind! I’m so grateful to enjoy and be a part of this beautiful Flight and this magnificent Crew and to enjoy precious friendships like yours!
As soon as you mention me, I think of so many wonderful friends here, and I feel how each of us contributes in our own special way.
Having been away for weeks, perhaps these folks just posted yesterday or last week, but since I spent today reading wonderful Anniversary greetings (and not yet catching up), I’ll say that I also miss hearing from mlla, Myron, Kitty, and Jeanette. And I’m so glad to see familiar names and quite a few that are new to me!
And it was fun to see Dorothy say that Ignazio used to look like her grandson. Thought of you immediately, Loretta!
Jeanne and Linda P, I’m glad you migrated here, too. and occasionally share with us.
Definitely, our Board Sisters run a class act here, filled with Love and Kindness, Laughter and Joy!
It’s quite a journey we’re on here!
Love and gratitude,
~ Jeanine, Compassion’s Doorway
Jeanine – sounds like you have things moving in the right direction on a lot of fronts – I have many of the “life” things going on as well – after reading your encouraging comments – I am going to start my own dancing to Il Volo! Thank you!
Oh, Michelle, I’m sorry about the “life” things that you’ve got goin’ on, too. I hope your dancing to IL VOLO is just perfect! Months ago I started with some mild dance steps while still using the cane (supporting an injured area). It took patience. Who knew I would soon be soaring (literally) down the path!
Have fun, and be well!
~ Jeanine, Compassion’s Doorway
Congratulations to you wonderful ladies who make up The Flight Crew. You have such a marvelous web site. I love to check out your website because it shows me that there are other ladies in the world who love IL Volo as much as I do. and such a neat feeling knowing I’m not alone anymore.
I totally Gree with what lucky lady said above! I love this site! I appreciate going to a place that is exclusively IL VOLO and does not include a lot of advertising, etc.! Thank you to everyone that posts! I should more often, but am dealing with very ill parents and so, days the words don’t come. But I do follow and appreciate, and love the 3 sweet angels of Il Volo! <3
Congratulations! Too beautiful and so many thanks. You are true ‘Heart and Soul Sisters”.
Again thank you for all that you do for all of us.
Also Marie-Your poetry is the best!!
Happy Anniversary to all of you, I appreciate all that you have done to help us connect with each other, I do feel like we are all family on this site and sharing the love we all have for Il Volo. I haven’t been on this site very long and it took me quite a while to figure out how to use it, but thanks to Marie and her patience and understanding I eventually figured it out and I visit it everyday your love and friendship means so much, once again a BIG THANK YOU !!!
Thanks to all of you who make up the board! All of your posts are fantastic!!! I too fell in love with our guys quite by accident! I was also channel surfing one night and came across the Detroit special! I was immediately hooked on these boys who have grown into fabulous young men! My husband loves them too!
We met Leelee in Orlando in 2013 waiting for the doors to open so we could get to our seats at their concert and she told us about your site! I LOVE IT!
These young men have changed so many lives with their angelic voices , compassion, and humility!
I could go on and on, but I know you get it! They are a big part of my life now and I thank God for bringing them to us. I pray God will keep them, their families, their team, and all of us, safe!!
Three voices, one soul!!
Hi Anna, I was right about this site, wasn’t I? I’m so glad you are a part of the Crew. Can’t wait to meet up with you again.
I am always amazed by your stories of your first sight of Il Volo. Mine was the same – hooked Instantly and by accident. Who says there’s no such thing as love at first sight (song)?
“I wondered why the whole world didn’t know about them…” My thoughts exactly – there should be an Il Volo TV Channel.
Marie, I wonder why too!! They should have their own channel. I think the world is starting to know them, they will get the same amazing pleasure we do, not only from their glorious voices, but from their sweet, charming personalities!!
Where do I begin??I too “happened” upon the first PBS special!!Fate?? I told my husband that one of the boys looked like our grandson ,Austin!! Itwas Ignazio! Then I got really interested because I couldn’t believe the voices coming from those young boys !I goofed and didn’t order the Dvd! Time past and I caught the Christmas special! I ordered this time!Long story, my daughter gave me this tablet and I was off and running !!!In search of il Volo! I’m now the proud owner of all available CDs and DVDs!!I’m waiting ( not so patiently) for a new one! I love being a member of the ” Flight Crew”!!!Thanks board members for all your work!!Keep up the good work!!I love your stories! Piero, Gianluca, and Ignazio —You are the best!!!!
Congratulations to the Flight Crew board members. What a year it has been. I am so thankful I found this site. Like Dorothy, I was given a tablet for Christmas from my youngest son/family, that was 2012. He showed me how to find things, download and etc. I found everything about them as much as I could. ON Christmas of 2013, my oldest daughter gave me the entire CD and DVD collection on IL VOLO. I too, found IL VOLO by accident on the PBS special, IL VOLO TAKES FLIGHT. I live in Hayward, Ca in the bay area and on August of 2013, IL VOLO performed in Concord, Ca about half hour from where I live. In July of that year, my two sons surprised me with a VIP package for IL VOLO’S concert. Everyone knew my passion for these talented/handsome trio and gets teased a lot. That night was magical for me. The meeting with the guys was magical. Going to this site is wonderful. Reading all of your experiences, pictures and laughing with you. I suffer from many health issues also but IL VOLO has helped me HEAL from some of these PAINS just by listening to their lovely voices. I bet they didn’t know they can HEAL the sick. Thank to all of you who works so very hard to give the rest of us insights on our HANDSOME, TALENTED, SWEET TRIO. Keep up the good work.
Congratulations, and THANK YOU, Flight Crew Board! I was also a “love at first sight/song” victim and my life has been so much richer for it! I save up for concerts and get any of them that I can. I’ve been thrilled to see them perform in person 5 times so far! Il Volo music has carried me through some very tough times, so they have been wonderful musical therapy for me! We are truly blessed to be alive during this time, and I hope to help spread the love for a long, long time! Again, THANK YOU for the Flight Crew!!!
Whomever had this idea is a genius!!!How much fun can we have through the eyes of other members???LOTS that’s how much!! I love modern technology! Never thought I’d say that!!Happy anniversary and many more!!You can call me Dot, everyone else does!!!
Hi Dot, welcome and thanks for your kind words!
Congratulations Flight Crew! Knowing first hand the amount of time and effort dedicated to these pages, it can only be Il Volo love that keeps it going. I’m so proud to be associated with all of you.
I found Il Volo on PBS in January of 2013 and stumbled upon this page late August right before meeting Marie in September.
Thank you Flight Board for all that you give. And thank you Flight Crew for sharing your stories and love.
Auguri, baci e abbracci!
Lisa – I met you in Philly – we walked out to the parking lot together with Wendy and the others! Thank you for your contributions! Michele
September 4, 2011 on the MDA Telethon. Three little boys, looking half-scared, singing like grown men. It was love at first sight (song)! A moment that changed my life!
Web-surfing, looking, looking for anything about these boys. Found their “official” website, but it was so difficult just to get in, that I seldom commented.
Then you wonderful, talented, skilled ladies took charge and said “we’re making our own site, where we can share this love”. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making this site so user-friendly, open and welcoming. That’s why 14,000 comments!
This is my daily shot of overt, open, and over-the-top outright love and admiration for our guys. Even if I only read, laugh, cry and do not post, I am here, daily, multiple times. Thank you Board for your dedication and determination. Love to you all, Board, Lurkers, and Posters alike. We all love Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio!
Ok, this is choking me up! Thank You! If it wasn’t for all of you I would just be writing to the other four. So, you know they are all happy you’re all here!
Thank you all for your appreciation of our blog and the beautiful voices of Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca! To celebrate our anniversary, I just watched “Il Volo Takes Flight.” This is my favorite, it is a classic and maybe as good as it gets! The “boys” now “guys” were at the top of their game from the very beginning. Of course they may have refined and perfected some aspects of their talent, but it was there – from the start. I love the excitement and innocence they all showed throughout the whole production! I am not sure they can ever top that performance – maybe there is no need to! I have to agree with some of you — we need some new music and I really hope it is coming someday soon! Michele!
Happy Birthday to the Flight Crew! I first heard Il Volo in March, 2012. My mother saw that there was going to this special showing on PBS and she thought it would be a good thing for me and my sibling to watch so that we could hear a different kind of music. She turned it on and they were just introducing O Sole Mio. I remember being shocked at their voices, especially since they were around my age. Then, this guy with hair sticking up in every direction and these enormous red glasses stood up on a chair in the middle of the audience and held the most amazing note I’d ever heard. It’s been 2 1/2 years and I am still listening to Il Volo and yes, a certain someone with red glasses is still my favorite. No one else in my family is a fan of them so I was ecstatic to come across this site where I can babble about how much I love these three and where my fangirling is so kindly tolerated. A HUUUUUUUUUUUGE thank you to Captain Marie Crider, Michele Azzara, Elain Tse, Linda Snyder, and Kelly Aitch for all of the hard work you do here to give us all a place to share the Il Volo love!
Isabel, that was so funny when I read about your mother wanting you and your sibling to hear a different kind of music. I felt like it was an inside joke because, of course, I knew where the story was going!
How great to be reminded of Piero with his hair sticking up back at the 2012 PBS IL VOLO Takes Flight Special! And standing on the chair.
You just keep on fangirling, Isabel! It keeps the rest of us young!
Meanwhile, I gotta pull out my DVD, kick up my feet, and sit and smile for a while!
Connie, let me know if you want to have an IL VOLO movie night one of these days. I’ve got all their CD’s and DVD’s.
Sweet night!
~ Jeanine, Compassion’s Doorway
Isabel – we love your “fangirling” and are so happy you are here. I know what you mean about family not being quite as enthusiastic about Il Volo as you might like. I am lucky – as Piero says – our family now has “3 generations” of Il Volo fans! My Mom, my niece and of course ME!
I stumbled upon Il Volo Takes Flight on PBS when it aired in 2012 and I immediately fell in love with three adorable boys with incredible voices that were well beyond their years. I fell more in love when I saw them at my first concert Sept 2012 at the Kravis a Center in West Palm Beach FL. Then Sept 2013 I went to another concert in Orlando FL which was even more amazing then the first one. I was jumping out of my skin from excruciating Post Concert Stress Disorder and had absolutely no one to vent my passion and love for Il Volo to until I too saw a small blurb on Facebook for this web site in October. And that is how I found all of you amazing people who understand and listen to my heart and still do even when at times I find it difficult to articulate all the emotions swimming around inside of me.
I will forever be thankful and grateful that you five incredible Board Sisters found each other and have worked so hard to create this amazing place for all of us to, now and forever, shout out our love for Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio and each other.
Happy 1st Anniversary !! The 1st of many, many more to come !! My love to you all- Joanie xoxo
I first saw ll Volo in June of 2012 on PBS at their Detroit concert. I was blown away by their voices. I looked up everything I could find on youtube about ll Volo. I went to ll Volo’s website. Eventually comments were being made that I didn’t feel were appropriate concerning these young men. I thought, what would their parents think if they read these comments. I quit going to that website. Then, I found ll Volo Flight Crew. They specified that no inappropriate comments should be made about our “boys.” I have always respected this website. It takes a lot of work on the part of those who run it. When I attended the concert in Milwaukee this year. I was proud to wear my “ll Volo Flight Crew” badge around my neck. Happy 1st anniversary to ll Volo Flight Crew.”
Love the new background
Happy anniversary. I have been with you almost from the start. What a trip it has been. I look forward to the blog every morning. it starts my day with joy. You guys are the greatest. I even wanted to go to Sicily and lined up a friend to go too, but I was advised not to because of my age. They don’t know how obsessed I am about our guys. Next year my daughter and I will be at the Greek in L.A. and will be at the meet and greet this time. I hope I will meet some of you there. We have our badges. Thanks to all of you for your fine work. Joanie G
Reading all of your comments makes me teary-eyed. You guys are too sweet! Thank you for being here with us and expressing your love and appreciation for the guys so well. 🙂
I have told my story several times & it is much the same as everyone elses. Yes Dorothy Ignazio resembled my grandson when I first saw him in 2009 singing when he was heavier. Now since the weight loss he has changed so much to still gorgeous in a lighter body.
I have said many times before the work done on this site is amazing by all 6 of you girls.
Happy Anniversay on the success of the blog & look forward to many more years of excellence.
Kelly your expertise of putting this blog together is top quality
Michele how you get the information on the guys is always up to date.
Marie your poetry is always hot.
Linda Snyder how you get your information together for In Case you Missed It. is amazing. Your hard work is right before our eyes.
Elaine its wonderful you can contact them & stay up to date with what what they are doing.
Elizabeth your art work is fabulous, you are very talented.
Congratulations to all of you. Looking forward to the next successful year.
Happy Anniversary!! It is hard to believe it has only been one year. So much has happened in that year. So many concerts we went to. So many friendships that have formed. Thank you Linda, Marie, Michele, Kelly, and Elaine for all your hard work and dedication to keep this site going.
For me, I became “Il-Volo-hooked” at second sight. I first saw them when a friend at work sent around a youtube video of three young kids singing O Sole Mio. I couldn’t believe it. Came home and showed my Mom (who I lived with at the time) and said “You’ve got to see this”. Her jaw dropped open. Didn’t think much about it until we saw the PBS Take Flight special. We watched and laughed and cried with some of the familiar Italian songs and couldn’t decide which one of the three we liked more as they were all three so incredible. I knew they were performing at the Kravis Center in 2012 but didn’t go. Out of sight out of mind (I know, I know – silly me). Then in June 2013, I saw the We Are Love PBS special and couldn’t believe how matured they had become. Couldn’t believe they were the same kids (but no longer kids). They were young men. I lost my Mom by this time and figured I needed a new interest. I saw that they were going to be touring. That’s when the internet surfing began and saw ilvolomusic site and then started reading the comments from all these people who were having so much fun bantering back and forth. I was too shy (that’s right, I said shy) to write until this site was created. That was that. The rest is history.
Thank you, again, Flight Crew Board, for such a memorable and fun journey and more to come.
Thank you, Il Volo, for bringing joy into everyone’s lives.
Remember Leelee? we met through this site and because we don’t live too far from each other, we went to the Miami Concert last September and had a wonderful time. I love having a friend that is just as passionate about Il Volo as I am. We’ve had some good times!!
Did we? I don’t recall. I vaguely remember a concert in September. Was that with you?
Couldn’t resist. I love having you as a friend also. Miami concert was amazing and glad we were able to share it together. We had good times and know we will continue to have good times. Love ya!
Michele, Elaine, and Kelly: I hope you three have the opportunity to come down to Florida and meet this wonderful lady.
I remember you Michele. I was so overwhelmed to meet so many IlVolovers that I talk with almost daily. Thank you so much for all you do. It truly was wonderful to meet you and I hope we can share more concert experiences together.
HAPPY 1ST ANNIVERSARY to all of us, because everyone who reads and/or writes here are members of the Il Volo Flight Crew. But none of us would have had this wonderful meeting place if not for the creativity, technological expertise, dedication, & just plain hard work of the Ladies of the Board, Kelly, Linda, Marie, Elaine,
and Michele & Elizabeth’s art work. Thank you all for everything that you have done to make this the perfect place to “Share the Love”.
I heard about Il Volo from my Mom who had seen them perform on The Talk in October 2011. She told me she wanted their CD for Christmas. Well, I just had to see this group Mom was so excited about. I thought they would be older, like that other group with “IL” in their name. I was so surprised to see a picture of young boys dressed in black leather jackets with dark heavy eyebrows! I just knew they couldn’t sing music like Mom told me they did! (I thought they looked like punk rockers.)
Then I heard them-OMG! Like so many of you said-it was love at first song. Now I have every song they’ve recorded (except the one with Belinda) & 2 DVD’s. No singer or singers have ignited my passion for their music like this since 1964 (y’all might remember them? John, Paul, George, & Ringo?).
I, too, went to that other hard-to-navigate website, & I found a home there until it wasn’t like “home” anymore. I have been a reader & sometime poster at our new Flight Crew home since the beginning. I had even suggested “Flight Attendants” as the name (Flight Crew is better!). I will be here until y’all get tired of working so hard to promote Il Volo (Never I hope). If I’m able, I will still be here when Isabel, Carli, & Elizabeth start running the show!
Well, Marie, I guess your Il Volo Poet Laureate Crown is secure for now. I haven’t seen Isabel’s anniversary poem yet. I want to add special thanks to you, Marie. Whenever you write something here, I know I will either laugh really hard or cry, & sometimes both at the same time. There are days, after a stressful day at work, when coming to the Flight Crew site is the only thing that restores my sanity.
Sorry to be so wordy. I don’t post often, but when I get started, it is hard to stop. I am grateful for the ladies who keep this site running smoothly, and for the people who come here to share the love for Il Volo. Thank you all so much!
I decided to let the Captain keep her crown for a little while longer as a thank you for FINALLY posting chapter four of her excellent adventure. Also, college applications are open now and worrying over them takes up a lot more time than I would like. 🙁
That’s right Miss Isabel. College is more imprortant than the “crown”. I am glad you know your priority. Many lucks in the applications and your future 😊
Lynn, I certainly remember you from the old site. We discussed New Orleans and the Beatles a few times back then. Thank You for such wonderful words! It’s messages like this that motivate and inspire me to stick around for the love. Oh, and for those 3 Guys too!
Hi all:
I first got hooked on Il Volo on seeing a promotional video put out by their management way before they went to LA that first time when they were 16. I saw their performance via youtube on TLUC singing O SOle Mio and that was that! The glasses, the curls and the dimples all made as big an impression on me as the voices! When the website
was functioning I used to go and read the comments–I particularly loved the competition between Loretta and Marie–(“he’s MINE, MINE, MINE” ) but I rarely made any comments. However, when the decision was made to strike off on our own I enthusiastically supported the idea. Kudos to the entire board who give their time, their energy, their expertise to this venture so that all of us Il Volovers have a place to commune with each other! I too, cannot believe it is a year–it does indeed seem like forever.
Way to go, gals!
I, too, want to thank you ladies for the wonderful, but time consuming job that you do here. It is so nice to be able to have an outlet to share our love for these fine young lads, and also know that we aren’t the only nut in the shell. so to speak. I wonder if it truly is the water there. If so, where can I buy some. Thank you so much for your dedication.
Marie, Marie, OMHeaven! I still say, you had to have a gallon of that magical perfume with you when you were able to have such unbelievable encounters with the guys. Ohhhh. Such memories you will always have. Way to go missy!!!!!
Good morning! Please don’t forget to join in our Twitter/Facebook Voting Blitz for They Guys. We start in 45 minutes!
Even if you used up your 10 votes for the day, please post the link to vote (it’s in the body of the post above after Marie’s poem) with the hashtag #ILVOLOVERSPOWER on your own Facebook page or Twitter feeds as much as you can today.
Let’s show The Guys how much we love and support them and vote them right to the top! 😀
It seems that I can vote as many times as I want to without getting booted off. Are all these votes really being recorded?
There was a rumor that today we could vote as much as we want today….
Every time, everyday I have voted it has let me vote more then 10x?
Shouldn’t have. When it gets to the screen that says, “Regressa…..”, it is not counting the votes anymore.
Thanks Kelly
Humm, always stops me and says to try again “manana”.
I’m not on Twitter or FB (by choice), so vote a few times for me, OK?!
And thanks for the earlier suggestion to try. I did, but it wanted me to login first.
Go, IL VOLO POWER!

I’m having trouble getting “comments” from this latest post! Know why???I was getting them until yesterday evening!!puzzling! Thanks for any help!
Happy Anniversary !!! Your site is a wonderful way to keep up with the guys and you. I wish I was able to see them like you by traveling where they are and also to have Il Volo fans to meet with. In my area I have my BFF but no other fans here and I feel like I am in the middle of nowhere, I feel lonely at times and wish I had other Ilvolovers to talk to like you guys do. Again thanks for all you do and I guess I am going through a little jealousy right now but I love you guys and one day maybe we’ll meet. I am in Tampa Florida.
You can’t be lonely Frieda! You’re here with us and there’s a bunch of us!
Marie is right Frieda, there are quite a few Florida fans here, me included! Keep coming back!
Thanks for being here for me. I need Il Volo friends. I just get depressed at times and wish I had you girls here with me for cheering up.
A belated Happy Anniversary! Sorry it’s a little late but I was away. It just gave me the chills to read all of the wonderful memories you have and share with all of us. We are so grateful :)) Maria Mutino Date: Sat, 9 Aug 2014 02:06:34 +0000 To: b2g1947@hotmail.com
Marie, thus far we have been able to vote once a day(10 votes), and they keep track. If you try to vote before 24hrs again it won’t let you. As for votes more than 10, could be you are not noticing when the red vote page says MANANA(come back tommorow). Any votes after 10x won’t count. That’s what happened to me the first time. Saw my mistake on this site! Hope this helps.
Geeez !! I must have voted a trillion times that didn’t count !! It says Mañana today so I guess I can’t vote all day. Thanks again Kelly.
No problem. And thank all of you for participating. I don’t know that we actually got our hashtag trending, but we’ve had a lot of fun getting it out there. 🙂
As many of you, I discovered Il Volo with the PBS Christmas concert, and was totally mesmerized. I immediately became obsessed with them. Thankfully, I found your site, which is my first go-to every day. You update it daily with so much great info and detail. Bless you for all your time and dedication. Keep up the good work. Thanks a million.
Thank you Esther, glad you visit our site!! 🙂
Now,I don’t know how to join the blitz!! I go to the address listed, but nothing is different from the norm. Please advise. Obviously, I’m still a novice.
Hi Kitty. There wasn’t anything different in how you vote. We were just having fun together and trying to promote a big push in the last few days across the world. 🙂
Happy Anniversary to the board and all members of this amazing site!! The board deserves a standing ovation for all the hard work they do behind the scenes that keeps us so connected and in sync with what is happening in the lives of the three special gentlemen who are the reason we are here!! “Come in and share the love of life, friends and IL VOLO”…what a beautiful invitation to all who are so fortunate to have found this site. Thank you for a wonderful year and I look forward to so many more to come!
Hey Jane. Thanks for the standing O. How’d the Il Volo Convention go? Can’t wait to hear.
You’ve got mail! 🙂
Congratulations and Thanks to The Board members for all their hard work and commitment!

Joy-Love and Light to you!

Congratulations to you all that have worked so hard to establish this blog and to all of the members that keep it going. I open this blog at least once or twice a week to catch up on everyone’s special moments regarding our Guys. I find myself crying sometimes because I am so happy for them and their experiences, yet a little jealous. I made my trip to Taormina, but have not had the chance to put it in writing. Jeanine, I am so happy for you and your mother that you have found that the voices of our angels have such a soothing and healing sense. I, like several of the other members found IL VOLO channel surfing in December of 2012 and I listen to them all of the time. My family thinks I’m obsessed with them. Well enough about me, congratulations again and here’s to many more years 🙂
Thanks so much, Karen!
Looking forward to hearing about your trip to Taoromina. How cool is that?!
Here’s a wonderful quotation that I have on my Reflections Page and that clearly fits Our Guys:
“Music in the soul can be heard by the universe.” ~ Lao Tzu
The Universe is listening, IL VOLO!
All the best,
~ Jeanine, Compassion’s Doorway
I love the quote, Jeanine!!
Thanks, Mary Jane and Karen! Glad you liked the Lao Tzu quote!
I’m having fun with the other quotes about our beloved “goof-ball” (my term), Ignazio! 😉
And, Mary Jane, it’s always so great to see your posts. You feel like a kindred soul. Wish I could have met up with all of you. Some day! ‘Twill be great fun!
And Mary B., I’m hoping I’ll see some posts from you when I start catching up from these last several weeks. I always smile when I remember the photo of you in the van and Piero next to you! And enjoy your sentiments, as well.
I enjoyed the banter between you, Linda and Lee Lee. I remember the photo well!
Let’s have a super week with the music in our souls taking us to new heights and transforming our “listening” universe to become All One Family!

Happy Anniversary Kelly, Marie, Michele, Linda and all you wonderful board who do all the hard work to bring us every movement of our precious boys. I am positive (& this site proves it) that no other stars anywhere in this wide world have such a diverse range in their fans- literally from 2 to 92 (is anybody 92?) what is special about Flight Crew is that most of us are older and our caring for them goes deeper than the young ones who are all hoping for a chance to be their girlfriend, we can enjoy them without having to compete for their affection. this also is the only site where we actually talk with each other and can vent our feelings without getting funny looks. It is an amazing phenomenon that everybody here have the same feelings for our boys and found each other, and it all started with one video 4 years ago. we love you Il Volo, that’s why we are here. Fly on Flight Crew!
You are so right! No need to feel funny about expressing our love for these three special young men. We are all in the same wonderful boat together!
kyalpn, gotcha!
Thank you to all of you and congratulations. I have had a very busy few weeks and some really difficult things at the office, so have been remiss in my joining you. I am so grateful for this site – for the wonderful camaraderie here and not being made to feel odd/ too old for admiring the beautiful voices of Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero . Coming here ALWAYS makes me feel better because of the welcome one gets.
I am watching the supermoon come up while listening to “La Luna Hizo Esta”. LOL! Fue culpa = moonstruck! May your hearts take flight for this sweet work Flight Crew Board!
How perfect is that EIleen?! La Luna Hizo Esto!
Our super moon is surrounded by a beautiful halo tonight!
Will serenade her with IL VOLO thanks to your sharing!
~ Jeanine, Compassion’s Doorway
Thanks to the Flight Crew board for all your hard work! It seems that most of us have found these wonderful young men by accident. My own Il Volo love story began in January 2012 when a co-worker brought their first CD to work. I was very skeptical about the ability of 3 Italian teenagers, but was persuaded to listen to just one song: O Sole Mio. “Blown away” doesn’t come close to my reaction; who are these guys? And, as they say, the rest is history!
So as often as I can I visit this wonderful site and read all the wonderful stories. I may not comment often but my heart is with all of you and,of course, with Il Volo! Amazing statistics for this site, and that is only one year! It will be so exciting to see what happens in the future.
Love to all~
Jeanine, Loved the quote you posted. Very fitting for them. Ran into a great one myself. This one fits Ignazio just fine, describing him and his wonderful joyful on stage antics. Tweeted to him yesterday.
” a fruitloop in a world of cherrios ”
unknown.
Lovingly, of course!
Hey kittykam, I loved your quote regarding Ignazio. It made me laugh. It fits him to a T. He did some hilarious stuff with Piero in Taormina as well.
More like a jumping bean that a fruit loop! You never know which way he is going to jump next! Ignazio seems incapable of standing still for more than 20 seconds. If that! And don’t we love him for it!?!
