In what has to be the worst airing/tweeting of an event I’ve seen,
Il Volo took home the award for
“Duo o Grupo Favorito!!!”
While the category was not announced during the live broadcast, and Il Volo was not in attendance, it has been confirmed on the website.
I just have to say that it is a testament to their talent and who they are individually outside of the music business that they have won this award. It’s like I said during our Voting Blitz in the closing days of the voting period: We’re small, but mighty. We believe in them and support them wholeheartedly and showed that #ILVOLOVERSPOWER was enough. The devotion and dedication to our guys that has been on display has been amazing to see and even more so to be a part of. I hope they have felt completely loved over the past few weeks and especially tonight.
I just found the announcement on FB & came here to see what you had!!! I knew something was tonite but nothing had been mentioned today! I am so happy our guys won! They had to win, they are the Best!!! Congrats Gianluca, Ignazio, & Piero!!! 💖 💖 💖 🏆 🏆 🏆 💕

I don’t get the Telemundo channel so I couldn’t wait to log in this morning to “Share The Love”, as I knew they would be on top of things and have the announcement. Was their award announced during the first 25 minutes of the program? That is the only part I missed recording due to my confusion and lack of knowledge of The Spanish language. I fast forwarded the remaining recording until it concluded just after 11:00 pm and it did not see Il Volo. So happy to know they won the award. They are destined for true greatness!
Everyone of us had the same feeling. I stayed up past my bedtime to see our guys win. but they were not televised. Why not??? They won. They have our hearts. The telemundo people lost out. Kisses Piero. Ignazio and Gialuca.
They will win a Grammy for sure! They have been winning deserved awards from the beginning and will keep on winning the hearts of people everywhere. Each one is special. Absolutely ! ! ! CONGRATS (not big enough font ! ) to our guys. As far as this catagory not being televised : That has happened before. I am very pleased that our guys are winning more awards, but I want to see them get serious attention for the American Grammy – even though they are from Italy they still have a big ( and growing bigger) effect on American/Canadian music. It is time for a Grammy !

I have been researching the American Grammy nomination criteria and unfortunately it is not decided by the fans, but by the Academy members and record companies submitting entries. The entries are then screened by the Academy’s voting members whom will assess the technical and creative process of the recording. They then vote on the 5 finalist. In order to be eligible for the 2015 Grammy (Feb) “Our Guys” have to have a recording released between 10/1/13 through 9/30/14. So hopefully their new cd will be released soon. I don’t know what we can do to help them get nominated and get the recognition they so deserve. I remember Ignazio saying “It is our dream to win an American Grammy. Here’s hoping their dream comes true.
Our Guys are destined to win an American Grammy! They soooo deserve it!
But with the window of time being released between 10/1/13 through 9/30/14, is there an album during that time? Buon Natale?
Michele Torpedine was interviewed with Gianluca, and their new album is due out within the first few months of 2015. They have switched record companies to Sony, and the new album will be released in 53 countries!
I have to add that I’m trusting Sony will offer comparable quality recordings to Interscope, and I’m hoping for far better advertising support (web, advance notice of tours, etc.) and recognition, such as entering IL VOLO in the American Grammy nomination, and using an up-to-date photo of the guys (a pet peeve of mine from past contests where the photo was 2 years old).
