  1. Hello everyone, here are the 8:15 am. In a few hours, and Jane Marie will leave for their return trip.
I met two great people and soon will send a report of our day together.
    Good return girlfriends !!
    Kiss

      1. Cynthia, you read my long message on the post card on 10/29/2016?
I would like the answer to my final question !!!

      2. Hi again, Daniela. just now looked again.
yes i saw it the other day and responded on that same page.
i looked again now and will copy-paste my response to you/your response here:

        31 Oct 2016
hello Daniela. nice that you’re back (here). and thank you for your response.
i did get to watch the video.
my question re the 2 girls – who invited them? the invite seemed ‘personal’ — the envelope said ‘por Marta’, handwritten.
did they win a raffle perhaps given by Canale 5?
        just wondered.
        thanks Daniela

      3. Cynthia I answer here. No, it is not a lottery channel 5. The aunt of the first girl and the boyfriend of the second girl asked Channel 5 to do this surprise, aunt and boyfriend are those who wanted to make a surprise. Channel 5 has lent to fulfill their desires.

      4. Cynthia, my question first, he was not referring to this reply. You must read the comment below the post of October 29, the one where we talk about XFACTOR in Brazil, you have asked a question on a card of IL VOLO and I answered. Down the answer I ask you a question, I would like to know your answer. All clear?

      5. oh, ok, all clear now re Canale 5 and aunt and boyfriend.
        thanks again
i will now look at card of 29Oct

      6. for DANIELA — just now again read it.
and answered there earlier this afternoon. will copy-paste my answer :
thanks, Daniela, for explaining IL VOLO CARD to me. i am new here.
and yes, it is i who posted a smiley on your FB pic (if same pic as here)

  2. Jana, I like your poem! Daniela and her beautiful country are turning Marie and Jane back over to us.
I’m sure they will be kicking and screaming as they are put back on the plane home!
Marie, there were some of us that we’re a little unruly while you were gone( oh, wait a minute, that was me) forget I said that!
I’m sure you both had an unforgettable time, and want to turn around and go right back.
Jana say’s that she will give you only one day to recover, but I remember you saying that you were going to sleep for three day’s. So, nobody wake the two sleepyheads ! Welcome back, we missed you😊

    1. Love your poem, Jana ! Jill’s right! We might need to allow the two explorers a couple of days to adjust to new time zone 🕗 💤, emotions about leaving Italy 💔😢 and the new friends they have made there, including Daniela and some of the Ginoble family, gathering their thoughts on their experiences, etc., so, “Welcome back! Hoping you had a Super vacation in unforgettable Italy.” 🌍 🇮🇪 ♥️

    2. Jill, I think they will leave a heart piece in this Italian from what I understand from their comments. You’re right they were tired, they saw many things that will always remember.

    3. Thank you, Jill! I was only teasing of course, about the one day of recovery. It will truly hit them likely on Friday!

  3. Jana it is very nice poem!
Marie + Jane we´re all very happy that you are back home in good health ! ! !
We look forward to your experience so much.
    WELCOME !

  4. Jana, beautiful poem, I finally got to translate, machine translation does not work with attachments.
Thanks for the kind words and thank you for even entered my name.
    A hug from Italy

  5. Welcome home ladies!! When are you planning the next trip? Once is never enough!! 🇮🇹 But can’t wait to hear all about your adventures!!

  6. I love your poem Jana !!! Marie and Jane I am happy to hear you are back from your trip of a lifetime safe and sound !! I am really looking forward to hearing about your adventures in what has become OUR beloved Italy !!!

  7. Jane & Marie now that your back I bet you wish you were still there. I thought you were staying longer. Did you make arrangements to meet with Gianluca’s parents? I bet you had the time of your life. What did Ninna’s pizza taste like probably the best you ever tasted. Waiting for stories.

  8. Jane and Marie, WELCOME HOME I worried about you with all the shaking that went on over there. Did you feel it? Did you get to see any of Piero’s place? Joanie G

    1. Does any one happen to know if Il Volo and other celebrities are usually paid for doing radio, television and printed interviews? I ask because since this was a fan-site interview, I presume they weren’t being paid for their time with Suzana, and I am wondering about Ignazio, in particular, looking clearly restless – – and dare I say a bit bored- – during the All About Il Ivolo interview here. I felt a bit sorry for Suzana at times. It seems like, a couple of times, that Gianluca is gently chastising Ignazio for his seeming impatience or reminding him to be patient. At the end, Gianluca – – usually the quickest to notice and want to help people who may feel a little hurt or uncomfortable, in my opinion – – seems to know that there is a possibility that some fans may feel a little hurt by Ignazio’s seeming unhappiness about having to do this particular (unpaid or limited distribution) interview for a fan-site and he (Gianluca) seems to quickly try to ‘rescue’ the situation at the end by quickly making sure that a sincere thanks is given to their fans, albeit probably somewhat limited – – comparatively – – in number, whom he knows will see this interview.

      1. I should also give Piero credit, too, for expressing gratitude to their fans at the finish of the interview here, for he, too, I’ve noticed is often quick to tend to someone’s feelings if he (or they) think something has possibly been misunderstood or even a little hurtful in some way. ♥️♥️♥️(Love ’em all).

      2. thank you, Laura, for your thoughtful input here.
Gianluca also sat on her lap at end of interview. that was sweet.

      3. Thank you, Cynthia. “You Tube” is a good publicity, but I think that people who come across this interview there would, mostly, already be their fans. I was thinking more along the lines of radio and T.V. regarding interviews with them which can very quickly capture the attention of many, many people who never even heard of them, potentially creating a curiosity and ultimately a lot of new fans of their music. That was, indeed, Cynthia, very sweet of Gianluca to have Suzana sit on his lap! I’ve noticed that he has an especially deep empathy for others and has the wonderful ability to act on it, helping others feel at ease around him. I think and feel that Gianluca has a healing capability. When Il Volo sing together, they have a Very Powerful healing effect upon people, which you probably are aware of, too, Cynthia! Many people have spoken of that effect. 💜

      4. Laura – oh, radio and TV. ok, i get the drift. thank you for explaining.
        yes, Gianluca, very affectionate
and HE SAT ON HER LAP (not the other way around!) 😉

yes, when they sing, does something to me…. yes, healing too…..

        thank you Laura

      5. Your welcome, Cynthia, I had seen how Gian ‘sat on HER lap, but was hurrying when writing and accidentally swapped the order of it ! 😂😀

  9. Lydka, today on Bing.com they have a beautiful picture taken in Jamnik, Slovenia. It is on their
Face page. It is the Church of Saints Primus and Felician.

    1. Jill, sorry, it is big mistake and many Slovaks would have been offended now. Slovenia is country which is on the south, lies on the Balkan Peninsula, Jamnik is there. I live in SLOVAKIA, lies in the central Europe ! Slovenia and Slovakia are two different states , with different languages, we have nothing common, only one thing – we belong to Slavic countries. We are small countries,we have similar flag and similar name of country, but not the same ! , unfortunately foreigners often doing this mistake as you. They do not see differences between our countries, and think that we are one country.
      Have a nice day !

      1. Lydka, sorry. I know that Slovenia, and Slovakia are two different countries, but I thought at one time you had mentioned that you live in Slovenia.
So now I will remember it is Slovakia!

      2. Jill, maybe you have read about Slovenia from another person, but not from me, surely I never have written it. I am proud girl from Slovakia and I am always writing about Slovakia. Several times I wrote here about my town where I live, Košice, the second largest town in Slovakia. 🙂 But it is ok, I am accustomed to certain things.

      3. Lydka I am 1/2 Slovenian and also proud of it. We do have something in common though, we love beautiful music and therefore we love Il Volo. It is a small world and I also have known people who thought Slovenia and Slovakia were the same country. When I was a young girl in school I went to the Slovak Catholic school and sang Slovak songs in the choir. My grandmother spoke Slovenian to me at home. I was so confused. Love you!

  10. This is another treat. Another interview in english. How about that Pirate 2 days in a row.. These interviews must be tiring especially if the interviewer isn’t very good but they stayed focused `that shows what gentlemen they are.. GO ILVOLO
    +

    1. Loretta, the interviewer isn’t professional journalist, and maybe was little bit nervous, also maybe have little problem with English, because it is lady from Brazil and she is mainly big fan of Il Volo. Some ladies from IVFC surely know her. I think she was also on Fan Faire in Las Vegas. Her name is Suzana Gutierrez (marirussu).
      Have a nice day !

      1. Thanks so much, Lydka, for the “All About Il Volo” video interview here. I’m so pleased to actually hear Marirussu, bless her heart. As you say, many of the folks here on this site are very familiar with her, Some of us have likely often read her Posts on her site,” All About Il Volo”, which I have always enjoyed. She seems to be an earnest and good person (rather reminds me of you, Lydka!). Also, she posts things in English as well as Italian and that is a big favor and help for lots of us. Lydka, some time this year she proved herself to be a very big fan of Il Volo, as you mentioned here. I’m thinking about when she closed her site down for awhile – – out of what she wrote was because of her love for and desire to protect Il Volo from something that was happening at the time. I don’t know if the problem she was trying so hard to resolve – re/ their official fan club’s secrecy and other unfair, related issues – was ever resolved, but she fought hard for Il Volo and their fans. Ultimately, she felt she had no choice but to close her site. Many fans missed her very much, but understood her decision. She certainly strikes me as a very kind and caring woman. As with many other Il Volo fans, I was so happy when she re-opened her very good site for latest news, etc., about Il Volo. Thanks again, (and hugs to you and your Mom in Slovakia!!).🐀♥️ (Just pretend that’s a little squirrel !😂

      2. Laura, I know this site and Suzana, and I am happy that she is back, I hope that all problems have been solved, because she is devoted and passionate Il Volo fan. 🙂 Thanks for greeting, and with mom (and squirrel also 😉 ) sending to you hug and kiss ! <3

      3. Also I really like Suzana, ALL ABOUT IL VOLO was the first site to which I signed, I really like how it is structured and have always enjoyed the news comments and interviews that were being posted. In some of these posts I read the comments of Myron that I later discovered Suzana had taken from your site. When Suzana decided the hours closing I complained a lot with her because the problem from my point of view was not the solution, besides all the fans who found closed pages were read on other pages and certainly one of these was the most contested of the moment. Fortunately now the page has resumed its activity, I am very happy for Suzana I think is a great and special fan of our boys.

      4. hello Lydka, Laura and Daniela — oh, so thie interviewer above is the same as the one in “All about Il Volo”??!!! yes, i have read her pages and appreciate and enjoy them as well! i didn’t know she’s the same person. oh wow! thanks for info

    2. What pirate? Where pirate? Somebody thanked a pirate for a limerick and I don’t remember writing one! I be confuzzzled.

      Arrrr

  11. I think Susana was a little nervous, I can understand why. She has met the guys often and is a super fan. She heads the group All About I Volo of which I am a happy member. They do many translations of articles written about our boys. The English captions were translated by sound some how. If you listen and read at the same time you can see that the words she said were translated by how they sounded not by the literal meaning. Susana (Marirusso) did her best with the English language I think. And yes she was at Fan Faire. Super nice lady.

      1. Rose Marie, how nice to know it about you ! 🙂 Slovenian language is hard to understand for us,Croatian and Serbian language is closer to us. Are you using sometimes Slovenian language ? Are you maintaining some Slavic traditions? Do you remember the songs from school, names ? I wholeheartedly greet you ! – Srdečne pozdravujem ! 🙂 Good night ! Lahko noč ! Dobrú noc!

      2. Lydka, I don’t remember the Slovak songs because it was 65 years ago. I am now 77. We also sang in Latin. I’m sorry I don’t speak Slovenian . My father was Mexican but I speak very, very little Spanish. But my husband was Greek and I do speak Greek. I understand some Serbian, Croatian because he also spoke Macedonian. He was born in Greek Macedonia.. So Kalinichta (goodnight) from me in Greek. Lahko noc in Slovenian if I remember correctly.

    1. I am happy for Suzana that her dream about interview became reality, she deserves it ! I completely understand her, is sometimes tough to speak in foreign language and plus when you have the jitters. She is very nice lady, I had in the past little communication with her.

      1. I am so happy for Suzana. She and all the AAIV team do so much to support Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca. They work very hard to give Il Volo fans up to date and accurate information and posting videos, interviews etc. and providing many translations also.

  12. Thank you Lydka for the information . I wasn’t just talking about her.. I find interviewers in general are rude & they quite often they ignore Ignazio. Have a nice night yourself

    1. I wanted explain it, because maybe someone doesn’t know about Suzana. 🙂 Good night also to you !

  13. M & J flew over the sea
As excited as they ever could be
    To see all the sights
In the days and the nights
    In wonderful It-al-y!

Now their fantastic trip is fini
    And home they come tiredly
    We’re waiting for pix
And to hear of their tricks
    In wonderful It-al-y!

We’ll give them a day or three
To get over that jet laggery
    And then we all hope
    They’ll give us the dope
    Of what happened in It-al-y!

    WELCOME HOME MARIE & jANE!

    1. Oh gosh, so sorry!! I guess it just had that “pirate-y rhythm to it?”
Mi dispiace!! 🙁 I still love it!!

      1. Thanks!! 🙂 so, who won? I have to apologize, I think I am having sympathetic jet lag! I came home after grocery shopping and stop at McDonald’s for dinner, watched Jeopardy, then promptly took a 3.5 hour nap! I have the worst sleep habits! It’s now 1am in Detroit and I get up at 7a!

      2. The Cubbies! YAYAYAYAYAY! Being a Cub fan is my family is traditional. My mother told me she used to cut school when she was in high school to go to games. Of course she didn’t tell me that until after I graduaed high school myself!
But we used to go to Ladies’ Day games together all the time. Chicago must be going nuts right now. But I am going to sleep! With a big smile on my face!

      3. So, Penina – are you just from Chicago, or do you live in the Chicago area? I know there are several fans in that area. Myself and 2 -3 others are planning to attend the Chicago concert – if we ever find out where they will be playing! I have like 6 hotels booked already and they are going quickly! We are taking the train from Dearborn and I booked most of the hotels closest to the train station. I looked online and they played at the Chicago theatre the last few times, so booked a few hotels near there also, still less than a mile from Union station. 🙂 Hope the weather is mild there on March 17! I hear it gets crazy there on St. Patrick’s Day! If you (or anyone) ever want to email me directly, feel free: jvandela524@gmail.com.

      4. I was born and raised in Chicago but left it in my 20s when I married a Canadian. Now I live in Toronto. And yes, St. Pat’s day is a bit nutty in Chicago. They turn the river green! Which is a sight to behold. Especially if you can watch them do it. I’d love to go to the Chicago concert but I don’t think it is going to happen.

      5. Please ladies, I live in a Chcago suburb. Let me know if I can meet you all for dinner before the show at the Chicago theatre downtown.

      6. Hi Jana, since I started following the Flight Crew last year, I have been wondering if any of you are related. Could you please help us newer people out and let us know? Thanks.

      1. Now that’s a good idea! It would have to be a jazzy little thing. Hmm. I will think about it!

      1. Thanks Laura–it was one of these spur of the moment inspirations! I’ve been trying to find a tune that goes with it as per Mary B’s suggestion, but all I can think of is Yankee Doodle–which is not so far fetched as it sounds! Try it and you’ll see…

      2. You’re welcome, Penina! I think that “Yankee Doodle” could work with some adjustments – – if you’re talking about the simpler children’s rhyme, that is! Now, I’m thinking about the song from the movie from the 1930’s or the 1940’s with James Cagney, “I’m A Yankee Doodle Dandy” – – if that’s the correct name of the song (during his big dance number in it). I think that one could really work! The only other one that I had time to think of was the childhood SONG (not the short, simple rhyme by itself), “Mary Had A Little Lamb (little lamb, little lamb… repeats…”). Hey! This is fun! 😃

      3. I just meant the old Yankee Doodle, which in my limited experience can be made to go with just about anything! I tried ABC/Twinkle Twinkle, Row, row your boat and a few others and they didn’t work.

    2. Penina, THAT (1942, I think it was) movie with James Cagney singing THAT song, “Yankee Doodle Dandy”, came on TV (On Turner Classic Movies) at some point after I’d suggested that version of the song for your poem. Couldn’t help but notice the coincidence and got to see him singing that song. I’m sure you’ll find a good fit of a song’s rhythm for your poem.

      1. I’m sure it’d be priceless and interesting. Besides, I’ve never been to Italy. In fact, I never leave my country. So, any story would be heard. I’m eager. 😂

    1. Hello Diantika, while Marie and Jane were here by me I saw the photos of their trip and I will not reveal anything, but will have plenty to tell. A hug from Italy.

  14. Ciao a tutti!

Thanks again to all who liked my poem, I hope it was deserving enough for our two weary travelers! Even though they may not have commented here, I hope they stayed awake long enough to read all of the beautiful comments everyone has shared. I’m sure their heads are filled with not only fairies and sugar plums, but all of their wonderful adventures they had over the last few weeks.

Just a side note, as I’ve been reading through some of the comments, I realized that some say they miss replies that are made to their comments. In case you may not have noticed, before you hit the post button, you can check the little box underneath the comment box to have any further notifications sent directly to your inbox. It is individual to each post, so you are not bombarded with everything. Just want to make sure everyone is aware of that and you don’t miss a comment from someone! 🙂

Lydka – thanks for the link to the interview. Yes, I also met Mari Russo in Vegas. I did not meet Suzana though. Even though they were speaking English, it was a bit difficult for me to understand them. Poor Ignazio, he looked like he was just fighting to stay awake! So nice they were able to do that interview with them.

      1. Ah, well that explains why it looked like the same person! Lol! She was standing right behind me in the line for the Fan Faire. 🙂

    1. Jana, I posted something about that interview with Suzana, (above under the video), but I must agree with you that Ignazio did look like he was fighting nodding off at times during it ! I really do like that interview very much, but I was feeling a little uncomfortable with the obviousness of Ignazio’s restlessness and which I also wondered if MIGHT be attributed to “ennui” ?? (boredom)! I do realize that Ignazio often has a restless energy which, to me, is one of his endearing characteristics, actually. When he is ‘in repose’, he often strikes me as being rather like a fine-tuned, ‘humming’ engine running at idle ! 😊 Did you notice him cracking his knuckles? “Poor guy” is right, Jana! I was wondering if his chair was going to fall backwards when he was tipping it back!! It made me laugh! I do agree with all of you who have a special place in your hearts for him that he is a ‘sweetheart’. As for myself, I actually can’t really say anymore that one appeals to me more than the others. They really are something, aren’t they?!

      1. He also seems to need a lot of sleep and when he doesn’t get it nods off wherever he is–this is not the first interview or situation where it appears he is fighting sleep.

  15. I was surprised when she, Suzana told me she was Marirusso. Bye the way everyone I am in the greater Cleveland area and we love our Indians no matter what. Great game though Cub fans. Congratulations⚾️

    1. So funny, I always remembered her name because my cat is named Mari! lol! Short for mariposa….”butterfly” in Spanish… Guess everyone has a code name? 🙂

Yeah, ol’ Tigers were out of it quickly!

    2. It was a real heart stopper, wasn’t it? And it shows how evenly matched they were. A great game all around.

  16. Welcome back weary travelers. So glad you had a wonderful trip and looking forward to reading your stories, after a good rest of course.

  17. All of you are just too much!! I’m really glad we’re not a real airplane flight crew!!!! Can you just imagine!!! Lol! Jana, great poem and thanks for captaining the Crew whilst Marie was gone. But I have to say “Marie! Help! Resume the helm!”

      1. Laura,
Lynn isn’t new here, but some members are writing comments less. I think that I can write, that is friend. This page is forming friendships and some even communicate with each other privately (via email or mail). 🙂
Have a very nice day ! ( Wishing good things to others is always a kind of blessing.) Hugs !

    1. Hi Lynn! I hope you understood that I’m just teasing! I recognized your name & the cheerful color of green next to it. Lydka’s right; I don’t remember seeing you comment often here. (You’re wise!!) I wonder if you’ve seen some recent ones that must be about 3 days long! 😂 Maybe you are right about Marie, after all ?!! Are you from Great Britain, Lynn? I ask because you used the word “whilst”; that lovely, old, authentically English word. I sincerely wish you a pleasant and happy day. (Lydka just taught me that “wishing good things to others is like blessings for them.” See her response to me below. She’s a great gal.) 😊

      1. Laura, thank you for the compliment. Lynn lives in state of New York, in Saranac Lake. Now you understand why I am wishing so often to each something nice. 🙂 I wish you peace in the soul and sun in the heart. <3

      2. Lydka, You’re very welcome. That’s the nicest wish anyone could give me right now. Thank You! 😊❤️💐

  18. Jana & Penina very talented ladies. I love reading the poems from everyone.. Lydka I didn’t know about Susana & I wasn’t referring about her. I wish I could have seen her talking to them. I realized they must know her from the way Gianluca pulled her in front of the camara.

  19. Ciao a tutti!

Ok guess our travellers are very weary!

Anyway, rose marie asked me an excellent question! Are any of us related? As far as I know, no. I call marie “mom” because we have spiritually adopted each other as mother and daughter. 🙂

However, is anyone related to any others who post on here? Besides all being il volo sisters? 🙂

    1. I have a sister who posts every now and then but reads the blog and has been a member of the Flight Crew since we started.

    2. I like that, Jana: “…Il Volo sisters.” and don’t forget our Il Volo “brothers” ! Let’s see…. Myron, John, Vincent…..?….! ♥️😊

      1. Hi everyone and thank you for mentioning me! I am currently sulking because Amazon has let me down – again – with Notte Magica. It was scheduled to arrive between 15 October and 3 November. Well, 3 November has come and gone and I still do not have my DVD! I was at home yesterday and had anticipated watching the full concert. You can all imagine my disappointment.

Fortunately, I had recorded the program broadcast by Canale 5 and I consoled myself by watching it again. I do think that it was very high quality and I love the way that they interwove the interview with the guys between the performance of the songs.

Turning my attention to relations, I am not aware of having a blood relationship to any other Crew members; but I do feel that we are a family of sisters and brothers here. Some of you will recall that my wife is from Naples (Napoli in Italy and not the town in Florida) and we spend as much time as possible with her family. Naples was originally a Greek settlement (its original name was Neapolis or New City) and there is a lot of Greek heritage close to it; e,g, the ruins of Paestum. That part of Southern Italy was actually known in ancient times as Magna Graecia. Which would be a good enough reason for the guys to perform in modern Greece. I hope that they can find the time and a promoter to make that happen.

Of course, a significant part of il Volo’s repertoire consists of Neapolitan songs, starting with ‘O Sole Mio and Torna a Surriento (Surrender) thru to ‘O Paese d’O Sole. My wife went to school in Pompeii and our Italian home is close to Ercolano (ancient Herculaneum). So, as something of an ancient ruin, myself, I feel very much at home there!

And mentioning “home” – welcome home, Marie and Jane!

      2. Hello, ‘brother’ John! 😊 An Il Volo concert in one of Greece’s currently used ancient amphitheaters would be something to see, wouldn’t it? I’d bet the concert would be sold-out. As Daniela mentioned, maybe they haven’t performed in Greece because Greece is close enough to Italy and so it would just be, logistically, easier for Greek fans to just head on over to a concert in Italy? I guess that may be why the Netherlands’ fans haven’t had an Il Volo concert there either; close enough to Belgium, for instance, where they have performed. (I know that the fans in Holland have been pleading for a concert there, as have the fans in Greece). Have always had an interest in Pompeii and Herculaneum. How marvelous that you have a home near Ercolano, but do you ever worry when you’re there about the volcano?! 😉😅 One of my dear Grandfathers was born in Montefusco, not too far from that area, I think. Still hoping to see those places in person someday. As far as you saying that you are “something of an ancient ruin”, you gave me a good laugh! Don’t ever forget that many people Love ancient ruins! Wishing you all the Best. Have a really nice day, John (and to your wife, as well!). Ciao! Ciao! 🇺🇸🇮🇪💞

  20. To ann cruise – I will email you. I think I still have your email from last time? 🙂 but of course we will definitely plan to meet!

  21. Thanks Jana, you cleared up the mystery of of “mom” Marie. For me. That is so sweet that you and Marie have that kind of relationship.
Yes, Daniela I am a “worldly woman”. I love Italy but my first love is Greece. I have relatives in Rijeka Croatia too. Have you been to Greece? I know Gianluca has been to Santorini this year, not sure of Piero or Ignazio. The girls in Grecia are still waiting for a concert🇬🇷.

  22. No, Rose, I’ve never been to Greece but I’d like to go, plus it is not far from here. However, Greece has always fascinated me, while for culture, then Italy was his colony. I often read that fans of Greece would like a concert from them and often the guys say “we will come” but I think the organization think that being close is therefore accessible enough I do not think they’re going so fast. kisses

    1. Hi Daniela, have you heard the term, “una faccia, una ratsa”? One face, one root? Also in Sicily there is a part of the population still speaking a dialect called Griko which is called Katoitaliotika. It is modern Greek mixed with Italian. You can read more on Wikipedia if you are interested . Baccia.

      1. Yes, of course, I think we have to say “one face one race”, surely there will be a mixed greek dialect and Italian, read on Wikipedia. Thank you

  23. Hello everyone! Thanks for the welcome home!

Jana, that was such a fun poem. Thank you.

    We arrived home last night.

As anyone who has been there knows, and anyone who hasn’t can imagine, it was the trip of a lifetime!

Give us a few days to rest and remember and we will tell you all about it.

    1. Yes, Welcome home, Marie and Jane. After being in a kind of ‘Paradise’, it must feel a bit unreal coming back from there. I’m pretty darn sure that everyone here truly understands that you each could need ‘a period of adjustment’; rest, catching-up on various things, reflecting, etc.. I’ve never been to Europe and never experienced any trip quite as exciting as yours had to be for you. I can only imagine it all. As for me, patience is like my middle name, so, as with everyone else, your reflections and stories provide something special to which we look forward, of course, but those can come even just a little at a time if that suits each of you best!; kind of like picking just one blossom at a time to contemplate and enjoy from a tree filled with many. 🌺

      1. Marie, we can’t wait to hear your stories! Welcome home to both of you. Will you post pictures?

  24. Marie and Jane, only continual sleep for the next couple of days will get you over the jetlag and back to normal again. It took me that long after returning from the USA back to South Africa.

  25. Hi Bernard, Hi Laura I think it would be one heck of a concert if the guys could perform at the Parthenon Theater of Herodus Atticus. Pavarotti did 2 twice and many more artists. OMG. It would be as wonderful as Verona. The Greeks fans would give them the agapi (love) they deserve.

  26. Hi, Rose Marie, Your suggestion surely sounds like a Perfect setting for an Il Volo concert. I wonder why they haven’t yet? It would make a stunning PBS video, wouldn’t it?! That must be an awesome location! Have a really good day, Rose Marie. 🐬🐬 ☀️
