Just a really quick post on this – not sure if this will be going national quite yet, but if you are in the Detroit viewing area, PBS will be presenting the Ennio Morricone concert this Thursday at 9p EST (DST). If it’s not on in your area, call your local PBS station to find out when it might be aired.
Likely most have already seen it on this site and have seen and read the translations from Jo Ann and Daniela. I am hoping they did a nice interview in Italy with them and this show will give us some insight to possible future concerts and CD/DVDs. I know they said they were working on the CD, so we may be able to order it for Christmas. I literally recall about 6 years ago now, ordering the CD/DVD from them and having to go in circles trying to get it delivered to my correct address, because I was moving! What a nightmare that was!
The guys obviously did not come to the USA this time to promote it from Detroit PBS and they did not ask for any volunteers, or Chris and I would have been there! 🙂
Why not switch to Detroit PBS?? I did and they have the best programs. Just a thought from your OLD friend, Dolores

How did you do that? I’d love to do it. But my cable company doesn’t offer Detroit PBS–at least I don’t think it does.

I contacted our two local PBS stations inquiring if the concert is sceduled to be shown in the near future. I was told it is not scheduled so made a formal request that they purchase the program since so many viewers in our area follow lL Volo and many others are fans of Ennio Morricone’s music.
In a recent lL Volo video Ignazio said that the CD would be released in November.
I switched my satellite server from Bell to Shaw and just requested that I get Detroit PBS. I also get Seattle and Spokane, Washington with Shaw.

We can’t get Shaw here–only Rogers. And as far as I know they don’t offer Detroit PBS.

WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE IL VOLO INTERVIEW AND THEIR PERFORMANCE, BUT I LOOKED UP THE SCHEDULE FOR MY LOCAL PBS STATION (WNET-NEW YORK), AND IT DOES NOT APPEAR ON THE BROADCAST DATE OF 8/26. I WILL CHECK AGAIN, HOWEVER, I AM NOT COUNTING ON ANY CHANGE TO PBS’S PROGRAMMING SCHEDULE.

Thanks for the heads up, Jana. I also had an e-mail from Detroit PBS about the Il Volo program as I had written them a short while ago and, I guess they have my address now, but no problem with that.
Taking your advice, I called the local PBS station. Not only did they not know about the great Morricone tribute, but the person I spoke with wasn’t too sure she knew I’ll Volo.
So, I told her I was sick of skinny doctors telling me no sugar, no dairy, no potatoes, etc. Oh, and Susie Orman, and repeats of Sherlock and Downton Abbey. Why can’t you air something grand once in a while? Most likely they won’t, but I felt better!
