IL VOLO WORLD TOUR: LODZ – LISBON – PARIS by Daniela

As well in Poland there was a lot of anticipation for the Il Volo concert.
Polish fans were looking forward to seeing them perform in Poland again.

October 27: LODZ

The concert was in Atlas Arena.
Greetings from Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero during rehearsals.

29 October PORTUGAL

The concert was held in LISBON in the Aula Magna.
It is the first time that Il Volo performs in Portugal.

Piero introduces their Portuguese translator: Ignazio!
Ignazio says he hasn’t spoken Portuguese for a long time, and his Portuguese is more Brazilian Carioca. Well done Ignazio, who still conquers the Portuguese public! 🥰

A moment from the presentation of the song SE by Morricone. The speech between Piero and Ignazio was hilarious and I don’t understand it but from the laughter and applause it must have been very much appreciated by the audience!! 😂

I can say that Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca have entered the hearts of Portugal fans. Great empathy, great applause, great affection, great love!! 🥰
The Orquestra Pop Portuguesa that accompanied Il Volo published these beautiful words:
Accompanying Il Volo means being sure that we will participate in an unforgettable show. There were about 25 songs, 2 hours of show, 3 singers whose performance received an enthusiastic standing ovation at the end of each song. Unconditional characters who demonstrate enormous affection for Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble, who interact with the audience in an excellent way, taking advantage of the fact that Ignazio speaks sweet Portuguese with the Brazilian Carioca accent as he says. Il Volo also introduced us to the engaging and fascinating voice of Cecille, a student of Andrea Bocelli, who ended her performance in tears, such was the emotion and dedication in her performance.
They make us all enjoy with their art and with each song the feelings come to the fore: we dream, we sing, we dance, we laugh and even we cry. Music is culture, but it is also entertainment and the 3 singers bridge the gap between these two aspects impeccably! For Orquestra Pop Portuguesa, under the direction of maestro Élio Anes Leal , it was a moment to repeat, especially because between Il Volo and OPP a Great Love was born. Stay tuned for the next posts… we have a surprise for all of you!
These are the words of the concert promoters: LAST TOUR PORTUGAL.
“Combining opera and pop in a unique way, @ilvolomusic sold out the emblematic Aula Magna in Lisbon and thrilled the audience with their voices, greatest hits and timeless classics. 🎼💫 Thank you

31 October FRANCE

The concert was held in PARIS in the Salle Pleyel.
It’s been a long time since Il Volo returned to Paris, furthermore a live radio connection and streaming with RADIO ITALIA was planned.
Also in radio connection also Radio ONE London but also ICN Radio for New York and on DAB radio for Scotland.
The beginning of the concert and a collage of songs.
I don’t know about you, but I really like hearing guys speak French, I understand almost nothing but I like listening to them. 🥰

As I told you, the concert in Paris was live on radio with Radio Italia (Italy), London ONE Radio (England) and ICRadio New York, for U.S. and these are the greetings and thanks given live at the end of the concert by Ignazio.

London ONE Radio after the concert he published these words:

Paris: Il Volo make a concert masterpiece. Thanks from the stage to London ONE radio, Radio Italia and ICN for the live broadcast at the same time

London (Paolo Criminelli) Great success for Il Volo at the concert in Paris, an extraordinary event that marked a historic stage for the radio world.
A historic fact for radio
For the first time, London ONE Radio broadcast the entire concert simultaneously with Radio Italia Solo Musica Italiana and ICN Radio in New York, creating a musical bridge between Europe and the United States and spreading the art and passion of Italian music to international level.
From the prestigious stage of the Salle Pleyel, Il Volo fascinated the audience with a selection of songs that ranged from Ennio Morricone’s masterful compositions to their most beloved hits, including “Capolavoro” and the emotional “Grande Amore”. The trio of tenors — Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble — gave an impeccable performance, winning the hearts of Parisian spectators and thousands of listeners tuned in from all over the world.
The audience responded with warm applause, while London ONE Radio fans followed the event from England, actively participating with comments and posts on social media to share their emotion in real time. This simultaneous broadcast between three major broadcasters represented a unique radio experiment, aimed at celebrating Italian music and bringing its beauty to different corners of the planet at the same time.
The concert not only highlighted the expressive power of Il Volo, but also underlined the strength of radio as a means capable of connecting cultures and generations, precisely on the centenary of its birth and on the tenth anniversary of London ONE Radio. “We couldn’t have received a better gift,” declared the management of London ONE Radio, highlighting the pride and satisfaction for this memorable initiative.
On stage, Il Volo wanted to thank the broadcasters involved: “Special thanks to London ONE Radio, Radio Italia, and ICN Radio for making this extraordinary experience possible”, they said, while the audience’s applause became increasingly intense.
The event demonstrated how Italian music, supported by extraordinary voices and innovative radio collaboration, is capable of creating global connections, breaking down barriers and providing emotions without borders. A triumph that will remain imprinted in the history of music and radio.
The tour is going great so far and there are only three concerts left and then this tiring tour which has involved Europe and Dubai will also be over in a few days.
I am so happy that all the audiences who filled the concert venues were so loving and satisfied with our young men.
Surely you have already seen photos of Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio together with a man with sunglasses , and you have wondered who he is. Here they are.
This is Nicolò De Devitiis and he is part of LE IENE, which is an Italian television program on Canale 5 where the hosts always wear black suits and often sunglasses. Our boys have already been guests of LE IENE, or rather co-hosts and it was a lot of fun. So get ready because Nicolò followed Il Volo for 48 hours and a special will surely be born which will be included in an episode on Canale 5. We will keep you updated!!
That’s all for now, see you very soon!!
Daniela 🤗

As you all know, Quincy Jones, a great person in the field of music, died on November 3, may he rest in peace. Let’s remember him with this beautiful photo.

Hi Margarida, what a pleasure to know that you were in Lisbon in the front row and that you really enjoyed the concert, certainly seeing them in your city was special.
The audience was very warm, people from the staff told me and were pleasantly surprised, also because it was the first time in Portugal, they will surely come back again, so get ready. Maybe next year we can say goodbye in Verona, it would be nice!!

      1. Olá Daniela, será um prazer encontrá-la em Verona no próximo ano. Fico feliz por saber que o staff gostou do público português 😍 Espero que voltem!🥰

      2. Daniela I am always looking for your wonderful posts on the boys concerts and news! I hope my words were not too strong about understanding the group are wonderful singers passionate about their fans and crews! The addition of your words and videos add so much for me watching their shows, if I can’t be there in person your write ups are my first choice!
I am so thankful for ilvoloflightcrw.com, all the support staff , and the writers who bring il Volo to my life! You and this organization are worth the fans weight in gold! I certainly hope the boys read all about how much we love all of you!

      3. Love the articles and pictures and videos. Thank you very much. Love them❤️❤️❤️❤️

    2. Sheila, what wonderful compliments, I feel very flattered, thank you so much!
Our site has made the choice not to rush to be the first to publish the news, but to give a logical thread to the news which is often fragmentary, but your comments make us understand that we have made the right choice!
Thanks again we really appreciate it.

    1. You were in Lodz, Ewa, how wonderful. You can feel the affection of the Polish fans, Il Volo is very loved in Poland and the three of them reciprocate with great affection.

  2. You write up on the Paris part of the tour failed to mention how unwell Ignazio was he was struggling but still managed a magnificent effort we were at the front and could see the concern on piero’s and Gianluca’s faces for their friend they were as always amazing I hope they come back to London soon ❤️

    1. Jill, you’re absolutely right, and I was sure I wrote it, in fact as I read your comment I thought you hadn’t read it correctly, but it’s not there, I wrote that Ignazio hadn’t performed any solo because he was obviously not in good shape , that evening I listened to the whole concert and Ignazio didn’t sing anything alone. I’m sorry, I thought I wrote it, but I have to tell you that I wasn’t able to reread everything as well as usual, so I missed this. I also hope that Ignazio is better, all three had problems but as true professionals they overcame their commitments brilliantly.

    1. Linda unfortunately this time there are very few videos, in fact almost nothing, on YouTube, otherwise I would have added those.

  3. Thank Heavens, after a wonderful Tour, their concerts are FINALLY coming to an end!

Piero has been unwell and now word of Igna ailing, too. Such a demanding tour took a lot out of them. Other than the Fake News of Gianluca being in hospital, it seems he has been able to weather the exhausting time without mishap. Now for some down time to relax and regenerate.

We love them all and hope our wanting to see and hear them continuously doesn’t affect their well-being in future. Hugs, Dol. 🧡🧡

    1. Yes Dolores, luckily the tour is ending, but every day commitments arise for Il Volo and we must be happy about it because it means that they are in great demand.
They also know well how to manage their forces. I can tell you that after the tour they have already said that they will be in Chile, but then there is an international event in Florence and at least two participations on Italian TV which have already been recorded and which we will see soon, in short I would say that they are tireless!!

  4. Thank you Daniela and Pat for this wonderful look back at their last of the Fall Tour! It was amazing! I was so disappointed when I couldn’t get any of the radio stations to come on for the Paris concert…..it wasn’t for lack of trying, I’m still in Ct. (until Thursday) and felt sure I’d be able to tune in the NY station but no luck.😳 it looks like they had an incredible tour!
I’m sure the boys will recover quickly, they are so resilient and very aware of the importance of their health.
I was really struck by Gian, Piero and Igna’s linguistic prowess! Gian’s French was impeccable and Piero’s also very impressive, then there’s Igna’s Portuguese is so strong!
Pat I hope you are recovering from your surgery and soon will be better than new!🙏🏻
With appreciation and affection for you both, Carol💖💖💖🎵🎼🎶🎤🩷😘🤗🙏🏻☮️

    1. Carol, I managed to listen to the whole concert in Paris and not hearing any of Ignazio’s solos I thought he wasn’t in good shape, in fact he wasn’t well. It was nice to be able to listen to them with applause from the audience and what can I say about their linguistic skills, they always enchant me.
Pat had surgery on her hand yesterday, she will appreciate your interest.

      1. I also was able to listen to the Paris concert on Ra1radio. I found the hostess to be very annoying: she talked over the boys, over musical introductions, she talked too much! I was so annoyed I tried listening on the NY station but for some reason it would not play.
If they ever broadcast another concert I hope they have a different host!

      2. Penina, you are absolutely right, but I believe that it is an imposition made on commentators to “disturb” the live broadcasts, so that they are not recorded and reproduced. I too would have liked to understand what the boys were saying but the woman always covered their voices!

  5. Thanks for all your reporting on the guys and their tour. It is always good to see them having fun on stage, as well as their wonderful voices. They have some time off soon. Hopefully to relax and recharge. Thanks again many times over.

    1. Barb is true, it’s always a pleasure to see them laugh and joke with their audience, their relationship with their fans is truly unique.
I don’t think they will have much time available for themselves, I think we will see them often, there are many commitments for them.

  6. Je suis tellement contente d’avoir pu voir toutes ces magnifiques vidéos… un gros gros MERCI …

    1. Ginette, tu as aimé les entendre parler et chanter en français ? Je les adore !!.
      .
Ginette, did you like hearing them speak and sing in French? I love them!!

      1. Thank you for your great articles and hope the guys are ok. They have a concert today and then rest time . Right? I hope their health is improving .

      2. I loved hearing the guys sing and speak in French! I could understand a lot of it since I took French 3 years in high school!😃

  7. Many thanks for all the videos and translations. I did notice Igna’s nose running and even Gian’s voice a little ragged. It’s too much. Just read they will perform at a gala dinner on 11/14 in Florence for the G7 elites. I was expecting them to come to the US to do promos and the Disney Xmas parade video. Their album is coming out on 11/22 the same day as the new Gladiator movie. The same song, Nelle tui mani, I think is still being used in the new movie (at least it’s being used in the new promos now). I hope they have a good safe trip to Santiago.

    1. Yes Joan, I can confirm that this will be the important event in Florence but then there will also be other commitments, so stay tuned and we will update you on everything!

  8. I wasn’t going to comment this time as I feel I am always sticking my nose in – Daniela & Pat – if you didn’t do such a magnificent job on this beautiful Gazette or if the reports were boring – I probably would not read them – the pics & videos are so gorgeous & very clear – I am concerned though about Piero – Ignazio & Gianluca – they do not look well at all & while I realise they are at the end of their European tour – two concerts in one day is two too many – these boys are not robots & do not take stimulants of any kind to keep going – so somebody needs to step up to take better care of our boys longer rest times between concerts would be a good start – fans all over the world love them – I know I am stating the obvious here – but they will not be around much longer if their health is constantly being tested – I am not sure what the answer is here – maybe having a Doctor with the Team when they are on tour – I am also concerned about Michele – the boys’ Manager – he is a good man – he needs to take care as well – much love til next time.

    1. Come on – they are 30 yr old men and can decide together how many concerts they can handle! As soon as Piero got sick with the flu, it was obvious they would all suffer it a few days later. If you look at their tours posted, there are gaps like Nov 6th is the end for now! However the fact is they have many events planned which aren’t public. Playing for dignitaries at conferences , appearances at private receptions which they love to perform.
They are responsible men who love what they do. They have loved ones who will give them feedback on when to slow down, for now us crazy wonderful female fans just need to love them and let them be in charge of their careers!
A love struck (much older) fan!

      1. I confirm Sheila, they are adults and know how to measure their strength, they know how to assert themselves in their musical tastes and they are not reckless like some singers who waste their time after concerts dancing in discos and not recovering their strength.
Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca are serious professionals who do not jeopardize the work of any of the staff members who follow them or the orchestra that accompanies them.

    2. You don’t pry, Jude, and your comments always make me happy, moreover you always give us a lot of compliments and from your comments we understand if our job is done well, so thank you!
Yes, this tour was a kind of “tour de force”, but I think everything was calculated, unfortunately seasonal influences are common in this period and we always think we are immune but that’s not the case, but I still believe that the guys they went great!!

      1. Thank you Daniela – you have a warm heart my girl!! – you are right of course about seasonal influences – my heart went out to the boys – I couldn’t help but feel for them – but like true professionals – they got on with the job in hand regardless of how they felt – thanks once again – much love.

  9. Have a wonderful day everyone! I will definitely repeat myself, but thanks can never be enough! Again, great reviews and samples from other concerts thanks to Daniele and Pat. Of course, I also follow other sites and FB, but here I always find a beautiful summary of everything. 🙂
We praise the boys for their language skills – if I’m not mistaken (besides Italian), they speak perfect English and Spanish, Ignazio also Portuguese and Piero and Giano a little French? Did I forget a language?
But I think Daniela and Pat deserve the same credit for how great they always are at translating Il Volo articles and interviews (and if they don’t translate it, they get someone who can)!!
You’re right that the boys are adults and they certainly know how to take care of themselves and what they can handle (and they can support each other, which is invaluable if one of them is sick). I just firmly believe that they know how to judge the limits of how far they can afford to go. They certainly feel a great responsibility to us fans who have bought tickets. And also to each other. I remember reading somewhere about their South American tour – Ignazio had bronchitis and had to do a lot of concerts on hard drugs to be able to sing at all. He said he managed it only thanks to his well-developed singing technique.
Best wishes to Pat, get well soon 🙂

    1. Iva, thank you for your compliments. They are much appreciated.😊 also thank you for your well wishes for me and my surgery. All went well and now I just have to heal and do my therapy in a couple weeks. 💪🏻

    2. Iva, I’m so happy that you follow our publications and like them, thanks for the compliments.
Yes, our boys know how to get along very well with various languages and can be really adorable, in addition to having beautiful voices, they have a playful way of presenting themselves and they dispense a lot of love and they don’t forget the responsibility of all the people who work on the tour, they are truly men of ‘gold.

  10. Regarding this part: “A moment from the presentation of the song SE by Morricone. The speech between Piero and Ignazio was hilarious and I don’t understand it but from the laughter and applause it must have been very much appreciated by the audience!!”

I think I can shed some light on it, though I’m by no means an expert. (Any Portuguese speakers feel free to correct me)

    P: Portuguese?
    I: YES
    P: Ok, 2021 we-
I: Piero, Piero, sorry. When someone asks you whether you like Lisbon how do you respond?
    P: I like it.
I: No… Yes or no. Do you like Lisbon?
    P: Of course, yes.
    I: Nooo…
    P: (Unintellegible)
    I: Yes or no?
    P: Yes.
    I: Nooo…
    P: *looking confused*
I: So ask me whether I like Lisbon.
    P: Do you like Lisbon?
I: YESSSSSSSS – he does it Ronaldo-style, that’s the whole point Ignazio wanted to arrive at I’d say 😉
(Ronaldo is one of the most famous football /soccer/ players and he comes from Portugal and these are his signature moves while celebrating goals.)
I: Now ask me if I like Lisbon A LOT.
P: Do you like Lisbon a lot?
    I: YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS (again Ronaldo-style 😉 )

P: In 2021 we decided to dedicate the whole album to Italian master, the biggest contemporary composer, maestro-
    *Discussion about biggest/best*
    P: Italian maestro Ennio Morricone
P: And the next song … how do you say ‘is part’?
    I: is part
*Plus receiving advice from the public*
P: the next song is part
    *Ignazio corrects him*
P: the next song is part of a film – you say it (in Portuguese) how you say it, I don’t know it – of a film that’s called Nuovo cinema paradiso.

    1. Live your article about the guys. One of these days I will see them . Not just watching them on every ones videos or YouTube . Everyone take care including our Il volo men and Pat take care too

    2. Thanks Claire, I really appreciate it, it was really fun, I too managed to understand the speeches but it was difficult to make the reader understand because Ignazio in his answers imitates the attitudes of the Portuguese who, like the Italians, are very figurative in their language, a “NO” becomes “Noooooooo”, often the answers are elevated to stage power and often, for us Italians to the use of our hands to speak, so it was really very hilarious. Thanks for translating for us!!😁

    3. The 3 little dots at the top right corner, tap on it and you’ll see captions if on or off and you can get translation .

  11. Thank again, Daniela, for sharing your insight to the European tour. I get so involved watching videos on Facebook and Instagram, I forget about your articles. I, for one, cannot wait until the US tour is announced. I hope to see them as many times as possible. Should the opportunity not arise before then, my warmest wishes you and the other contributors for a happy and healthy holiday season.

    1. Eileen, we are all anxiously awaiting the dates of the Canada – U.S. tour, in the meantime we always stay in touch with our three golden men who sow “great love” everywhere

  12. Thanks a bunch Daniela and Pat! Always pleasure to read from you 🙂 I had in my mind to listen radio concert but I was busy and I miss it. Happily they come to my country and it was outstanding pleasure to listen them live. Such a huge emotion, I couldn’t sleep two nits after 🙂 And Ignatio sill had some issues. And Il Volo had two concerts one after another in Sofia. They were tired but very very professional. Marvelous boys! Hope they come back soon again!! And thanks for bringing me back to that emotion with every reading!

    1. Toni I’m so happy you saw them and liked them. Anyone who sees them in concert falls in love with their powerful voices and their charisma, they are truly unique!!

      1. Daniela, the concert was just ultimate pleasure. I fell in love just from the first sight 😀

  13. Thanks as always for posting this! I was lucky enough to listen to the Paris concert on ICN radio New York!
