Il Volo has been present on Italian television programs and beyond and therefore I am preparing to give you a summary.
November 27, Il Volo is a guest in an episode of the show on Canale 5 THIS IS ME, hosted by the talented Silvia Toffanin.
This program is an invitation to young people who have attended the show AMICI (a talent show like Saranno Famosi) and who have been successful. Years later, these guys revisit their first debuts in music and then duet with some guests. Needless to say, the broadcast started at 9:30 pm and Il Volo performed at 0:10 am, two and a half hours of waiting to see them sing with Sarah (student of Amici) to the tune of Capolavoro which I now propose to you.

Nice performance, I liked Sarah Toscano too, but what a long wait just for one song.
Piero had the opportunity to announce that on the evening of December 24th there will be their concert recorded in Agrigento.
Silvia Toffanin who greatly admires our young men said that Ignazio got married this summer and Ignazio complimented her.
Sarah posted these words:
“I sang with Il Volo and I was very nervous. They immediately put me at ease, they were really nice towards me so it was really beautiful.”

Small detail, the following day the audience figures were published, which are very popular here in Italy, THIS IS ME was the most followed program of the evening and of all the Italian channels.
The peak audience took place in two moments, at 9:58pm and at 0:10am (the moment Il Volo performed).
As I announced, the three concerts in Verona held in May would have been repeated on 7, 14 and 21 December, but due to a change in programme, Canale 5 announced only a couple of days ago that the first repeat of the concert was on Saturday 30 November.
So, on Saturday evening I had the immense pleasure of seeing the first concert held in the Arena in Verona in May (I was present at the second concert).
What can I tell you? I was glued to the television from 9:30pm until 1am listening and seeing Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca sing beautiful songs of which I want to show you these videos:

While in Italy I was watching the repeat concert in Verona, at the same time Kirsten from Denmark messaged me telling me that she was watching German television where there was a Christmas show and among the various guests there was also Il Volo.
In the program “Das Adventsfest der 100.000 Lichter”, Il Volo began by singing “Rockin Around The Christmas Tree”

But that’s not all, at the same time in some parts of the States, PBS was broadcasting the Christmas special recorded in Agrigento, and therefore Il Volo was present on three televisions around the world, how wonderful, what emotion, what pride!! ❤️❤️❤️

But since you really liked the vocal coach’s review last time, I propose another one that I recently found on YouTube and it was fantastic to see the reaction of those who don’t know Il Volo at all!!
Regarding the song Hallelujah and the saying “no one is a prophet in his own country” I want to tell you this.
You know that Halleluiah is now a song that Il Volo always offers in its concerts. After one performance, the video of the song they performed very well was published on YouTube. I read all the comments but one, made by an Italian man, really annoyed me a lot, he downgraded Il Volo saying that they didn’t sing that song well and that they should have listened to the one performed by Pentatonix who were much better than Il Volo and that Il Volo didn’t it was nothing compared to Pentatonix. I was furious and responded in kind by writing that Scott from Pentatonix was a friend and admirer of Il Volo, to the point that he had performed the song in LA with them and I attached the video. Furthermore, remembering that the next day Scott had thanked Il Volo on his Facebook page, saying that they were special people as well as very good singers, I also attached his statement!!!
What a joy to shut his mouth like this to this stupid man!! 🤬🤬

Watched a concert on PBS yesterday filmed in the “Valley of (the) Temples’ in Sicily. I hope there is more to come during the holiday season…?

ich freue mich, die ganzen Videos nachher anzuschauen . Als am 30.11.24 die Weihnachtssendung im Deutschen Fernsehen gezeigt wurde, gab es noch ein kurzes Interview mit den Jungs. Ignazio war so süß, als er von sich aus seine Deutschkenntnisse präsentieren wollte. Er sagte „ich liebe…..“, dann stotterte er, natürlich erwarteten wir alle „deine Augen“, aber stattdessen sagte er „dich“. Alle mussten sehr lachen. Dann sagte Piero ,dass sie am 29.11.24 aus Chile zurückgekehrt sind und am 1.12.24 in die USA fliegen. Ihre Weihnachtslieder waren zauberhaft. Auch in dieser Sendung traten sie erst nach fast 3 Stunden auf.

Thank you for sharing the coach responses that reinforced our opinion of our amazing Il Volo. I watched the PBS concert and loved it. My PBS station did not air it so I made the necessary donation to be able to stream it. If they had aired it I would have pledged in order to purchase the CD and DVD. It is wonderful to listen to our guys but so much better to watch them sing,! Il Volo forever in my heart!❤️

I couldn’t wait for our local PBS station to show the concert during their fundraising night, so as a long time donor was able to watch it on PBS Passport Saturday. Such a fabulous concert! Nearly 2 hours with no interruptions. A mix of old and new; I found the new songs as compelling vocally as the old standards. I’ll admit I’ve already watched several times. No Il Volo fan should miss it! Since I don’t comment very often, I wish you, Pat and your readers a very happy holiday season!

We were immensely fortunate to see the Agrigento concert [or at least a large part of it] on Saturday evening in our local PBS station [Channel 2, Boston] and it was truly glorious!
With the Greek temples as backdrop, the whole experience was absolutely breathtaking, even on TV so I can only imagine what it might have been in person! I plan to watch it as many times as it is shown, even if I have to stay up past my bedtime!

Dear Daniela & Pat – Wow!! – that is all I can say – I have shortened my vocabulary as I have been blown away by your outstanding presentation & am lost for words – unusual for me!! – I wonder if there is any hope of us down under being able to view the PBS Special on YouTube?? – what an outstanding concert – the Valli dei Templi is only a short distance from where Piero lives & what a beautiful piece of country – the history & the surrounding beauty are second to none – I thought New Zealand was a place of profound beauty but when I see parts of Italy & Sicily – I begin to understand why music has become such an integral part of Italian & Sicilian Society – no wonder you Daniel & Pat have a great passion for our beloved boys – when the boys sang at the first PBS concert the hymn ‘Silent Night’ – I cried – what a beautiful rendition – I have never heard this hymn sung quite so heavenly – ‘The Gladiator’ – I love it when our three boys stand tall together on stage looking like Sentinels guarding the world of music magnificent!! – much love to you beautiful hearts til next time.

What can I say about the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, I have been there and it is absolutely a fantastic place, full of history, the Temple of Concordia is truly impressive and a very evocative place. I’m really happy that Il Volo performed in their beloved region, unfortunately there was a lot of controversy from the people, but it was fomented by the usual journalists who “inflated” the news, really a behavior that I wouldn’t have wanted to see.
Dear Daniela – thank you for replying as you do with all the fans – you are outstanding in the heart department – I just wanted to say – that some journalists lack style – class & panache – they do not have the intellect to understand our beloved boys – they need to do their research – talking badly about people makes those journalists appear vulgar – much love.

Dear Daniela a Pat, I’ll probably repeat myself (but in this case I’m very happy to repeat myself): you’ve once again given us a beautiful and comprehensive summary of the guys’ latest current and upcoming events. Thank you very much! I’m looking forward to listening to one of their concerts, which they recorded in Agrigento. I believe that this wonderful musical experience will finally make some people forget the controversies that accompanied this summer event.
I really like how fiercely you can defend the guys! Keep it up, they definitely deserve it :-). I’ve already seen the video you mentioned with the vocal coach’s assessment. When I watch his surprised expressions, I feel a very pleasant satisfaction on behalf of the guys. I’m quite interested in these assessments on YouTube, I just have to choose the ones with subtitles.
Personally, I like Giacomo Rossi’s videos “Jack’s Reaction – Vocal Coach” the most of all. I really appreciate his approach. First, he lets us listen to the whole song and then plays it again in small parts and comments on them. And it’s not just general impressions like “that’s amazing, beautiful, those voices…” like some others. He thoroughly analyzes the pitch of the voice, explains the singing technique used, shows visual examples, explains, etc. It’s not just about how much he admires the guys (like we all do), but he tells us exactly what he admires about them. I have to admit that thanks to him, my musical education has expanded at least a little.

I watched the PBS Special with a dear friend, Gloria. She made a special trip from Ottawa to see me so we could watch our Il Volo together. We’ve been friends for over 50 years and I introduced her to Il Volo. Although she has never seen them in concert, she is an avid follower, too.
I made a purchase to donate to the station and, with the Canadian dollar converted to American, it cost me over $250.00, but, as has been said before, well worth it!

Like those who have written before, I really enjoy the vocal coaches when they first hear Il Volo sing! It makes me proud that they have such a reaction to “Our Three Wonders”, almost a motherly pride! Such glorious voices that should come from angels, come from our Il Volo and may we never get used to our reaction to them. Each time they sing Hallelujah, I feel the tears start in my eyes! 😥😥

Merry Christmas Daniela and Pat! This was a wonderful entry (not that the others aren’t always)! I enjoy watching and hearing what these vocal coaches think about our darlings….. I think the jerk was only a disc jockey(?) but a jerk nonetheless. I do love when their reaction changes and their expressions are in wonder! Now they need to hear more like watching a concert!

Carol, it’s just my back again. The the vertebrae above my first fusion is now constraining everything. So I have to have another surgery either tomorrow or the next day. Carol, I too saw some moments from last year’s Disney Christmas reported on Facebook pages, I don’t think they will be there again this year, but with them… never say never!!
From the PBS videos we have published, I see that Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca are very formal during the concert and I also read a comment saying that he would have preferred them to be more spontaneous (as we well know), but it must be understood that a concert broadcast in any case during the Advent period, takes on an important and formal role, furthermore it is also aimed at people who know them at all and who could be shocked by their way of interacting, because they have never seen them and cannot know how genuine they are.
Hi Daniela and Pat! I FINALLY WATCHED THE VALLEY OF TEMPLES LAST NIGHT! They always make me happy and a friend called about an hour earlier and I told her what I was doing last night and she was excited to see and hear them! She was decorating her tree but when I called after the concert she said no decorations on the tree……they were too good to not just sit and watch the concert! Loved every minute and of course I was mesmerized as usual…..they just take your breath away! I think Ignazio MEMORIES WAS THE BEST I EVER HEARD HIM! They all shown and I think those of us who know so well recognized they were restraining their movements and actions so as not to possibly turn off the people who aren’t familiar with them! Too bad as that can be part of their appeal…..how comfortable they are with each other and themselves ! Also there are time constraints when filming for TV! I fall in love all over again when I see them performing!💖💖💖🎵🎶🎼🎤

Cathy, that’s right, the spontaneous reactions of the vocal coaches and those who know well what they are listening to fill us with pride, it’s not just us fans who believe in them, you can like Il Volo or not, tastes are to be respected, but recognized skill is something else entirely and people must be objective!!!

Oh Pat, so sorry but I can relate….. had a fusion in my lumbar 14 yrs ago and now I’ve been told that my spine is slowly sinking on top of it! I’m seeing my orthopedist next week because of my back and neck….. I’ve stenosis in my neck and spine….YUK! Please take it easy and heal my friend. Prayers for you.🙏🏻😘🤗❤️Carol
Oh Carol! I had a C4-5-6 fusion in 2021. Then early 2022 I had an L4 – L5 fusion. I won’t go into details because it will be too long but I had to change doctors and change hospitals because my L3 had become very narrow and pinching and I was in a semi emergency state. so when this new doctor went in, who is a former colleague of the one I had before, he found that diffusion done in 2022 never worked so the empty space in between, the plastic cage that held the material that was supposed to bond those two vertebrate together, had nothing in it and two of my screws were loose. The cage had moved and pinched on different things that were making the problems that I was having worse. So he not only had to go in and redo the first fusion but then he had to do the L3 fusion also. I tell you this new doctor is amazing! I liked my other doctor but this new doc must have done something different – I was out of the hospital two days after surgery! It’s been a week now and I’m feeling pretty good and I’m gonna try to work on Daniela‘s next post slowly. I’m not pushing anything and I’m just thankful that I’m doing as well as I am and moving better with no pain in my legs. I just have to try not to do too much because it makes me tired. Even my son and his wife told me how much better I’m doing this time. This isn’t my first rodeo. 😂 So it’s all kind of a waiting game. I hope you find a solution for your pain when you go to your appointment next week. I’ll be thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers! 🙏🏼❤️😘 Take care fellow IL VOLO sister.
I was just searching Bocelli’s concert videor’s site to see who all the guests were when I heard a voice say on one of the “title” screens that Bocelli’s concert is being filmed for tv and will be shown on Xmas eve on CBS in US. Good exposure and I hope they got to meet David Foster.
