PIERO= The US tour will begin. in February/March, we are really satisfied and I think this is the best way for artists, singers like us, the best way to celebrate 15 years of career.
Meanwhile, the dates of the South American tour have also been communicated and therefore to date, starting from February 28th, Il Volo has 50 concerts on the list until December, but the list will certainly vary further.  (click on the box below to view the IL VOLO official website)

Il Volo began their 2025 World Tour last night, right here in the desert. It was an honest-to-God thrill to see them and spend some time together. I first met Piero Barone IL Volo Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble when they were teenagers. They toured with us with Barbra Streisand, Chris Botti, Jason Gould and Roslyn Kind. The show was BACK TO BROOKLYN. Not long after that, the boys and I were reunited in Miami and filmed two PBS specials. A regular concert and a Christmas Show titled BUON NATALE. That’s where the “bonding” really happened. The gentleman have now been together for 16 years and, yes, “the pup grows up.” My head exploded last night and my heart was jumping for joy. The show was spectacular! TWO hours of non-stop singing with a HUGE orchestra and NO trickery! No video packages, no filler and a diabolical music program from Broadway, Pop, Classical and Italian Signature Greats. I couldn’t believe my eyes and ears! Solos, Group Songs and Stunning Arrangements. A lot of “life” has happened to, and for, these boys and they are now skillful showmen with an ease and confidence that left me in awe. Truly. Also, their individual and distinct personalities shone through and all I could do was love them and admire them and enjoy them. Their humor and comradery were on full display and I had a huge smile on my face all through the show and the soaring vocals pierced! The “ping” in their voices, together, felt like they could shatter glass. That is NO exaggeration. The voices are at their robust “peaks” and the lung power, stamina and skill on display last night were staggering to me. No vocal tracks, no tricks … THEY WERE SINGING! Honestly, I don’t know HOW they do it, but I was so glad to be there and must tell you that IF they are playing anywhere near where you live, GO SEE THEM! Forget the recordings. Forget that you’ve seen them on television. There is NOTHING like being in that room with a full orchestra and those voices traveling through and around the molecules in the air and in the room. I promise!
They also met actresses Katrine Kelly Lang and Ashley Jones.

And the Estefan family.

The newspaper THE ARGONAUT published this article:
“@argonautnews This week’s top story: When the Italian pop-opera trio Il Volo studied English at UCLA, the singers immersed themselves in American traditions. Now in their early thirties, the men have since become the world’s most popular Italian trio, having collaborated with major international stars and arenas worldwide. They were also guests on the JENNIFER HUDSON TV show, unfortunately I couldn’t find anything about this event, who among you saw it?

MARCH 2

The second concert was held in Los Angeles, in the Peacock Theater.
A short summary published by Il Volo on the Instagram profile.

WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER

Several videos were filmed by Joanna M. Harris who posted them with this comment:
“Sunday night March 2, I went to see Il Volo (Italian trio singers) at the Peacock Theater at LA Live with my family. They were fantastic, singing many Italian classics as well as songs from Simon and Garfunkel, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Frank Sinatra. What a fantastic evening. We have followed the careers of these super talented guys for the past 15 years!”

Our friend Judith was present at the concert in Los Angeles and posted this beautiful photo of the Meet & Greet with these words:
“Me with “the boys”, Il Volo, individually and collectively the exceptional and powerhouse trio that, each time you see them and hear their distinctly different voices, you’ll feel overwhelmed and pleased to be there! Personally, I just close my eyes and let their voices fill me! If tickets are available in your area, do go. A memorable evening will be in store for you.”

  1. Thanks for posting about the first concerts in California! About the Jennifer Hudson show, I don’t think they were on…I DVR’d the show on the 27th and watched the whole show and didn’t see them

    1. Thanks Lois for the news on the Jennifer Hudson show, I actually couldn’t find anything about the event, so it could be that they air it later!

It’s really true what you write Luz and you never get tired of hearing their beautiful voices.
I can’t wait to listen to them in Mantua, it will be beautiful!

  3. I was at the Aqua Caliente and San Jose concerts. The music was thrilling and both nights were magical. I must admit that I have post concert withdrawal now that both my concerts are over. Igna and I heard Gianluca were a bit under the weather with a cold or jet lag or both but it did not show in their singing. Both were strong and beautiful. In San Jose I brought 8 family/friends , 5 of whom had never seen them before. One young friend is a singer and studied opera and spent time in Italy studying music. She and her Mom were astonished at the ease with which they switch from pop to opera arias and to bel canto. She said each takes a different skill and they just easily managed their voices to sing it all. One interesting note about Gianluca. The same young singer friend said when he speaks in Italian he has a normal Italian accent. But when he sings in Italian she detected a definite American English accent in his Italian. I know he has said he likes singing in English and maybe that is affecting his Italian singing .
At Agua caliente sound check Piero on the other had said he does not like to sing in English as much because he realizes he has very Italian accent. But they all did well communicating with the American audiences.
Thanks to you both for this great look back at some fun nights

    1. Janet, how nice that you attended two of the three concerts and are enthusiastic about them. Unfortunately the withdrawal from Il Volo is serious but it can be cured with another concert ha ha ha ha!!
I am very happy that Il Volo was also appreciated by your family members who did not know them, they never disappoint. Furthermore, those who are connoisseurs understand well that there is certainly an innate talent behind them, but also a lot of study to ensure that their voices come out so naturally and face very different vocal commitments, they are truly chameleons.

    2. Hello Janet how nice it was to have meet you and many others at the first concert in Palm Springs, my very first concert and now several days later i am coming down from that heavenly cloud the man and the music put me up. I have attended many concerts in my life all over the world, but this one i will never forget the rest of my life. God willing we will run into each other again at a concert of our beloved Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio . Bartha Cupernall

  4. I was there for the first two concerts. Front row both times. You would never know that GG and Igna were not feeling well although Igna was coughing a little. They gave us everything they could. Amazing young men.

Ginette, don’t worry, all three of them will be in great shape and you will enjoy a beautiful show.

    2. Wow RoseMarie, front row, what a fantastic view you had. They definitely recognized you, how lucky, I’m so happy for you.
I read that Ignazio and Gianluca were not in perfect shape, I hope everything is resolved.
They will also come to Ohio and you will see them again and then you read about the concert in Athens in December, will you be there?
      A hug!

  5. I was one of the fortunate ones who saw our guys in Rancho Mirage. They were wonderful. It is hard to explain the experience of being there live. I have all their CD’s and videos of their live performances, but live they are electric. I am so grateful that they came to Rancho Mirage again.

    1. Kay I always say that the live experience is a completely different thing, hearing their voices live is unparalleled and then you know something about singing and therefore you know how to evaluate commitment and vocality well.
I’m happy you were enthusiastic about it.

  6. Thanks for all the sharing, including those who were able to enjoy the concerts in person.

    1. Barb, it’s a pleasure to share their tour stops, especially for those who won’t be able to go to their concerts, so we can all see their success.

  7. Hi everyone! Thank you Daniela and Pat, this was like an appetizer before my main course!! I see them in Clearwater on Monday and am so anxious, it’s been more than two years…….Im so excited. Our young stars will be a welcome sight as I’ll be at a funeral all day to pay tribute to a very dear friend.😢😇
Pat I wish I could Have joined you in Jacksonville, maybe another time. It’s no wonder they get sick on these tours, it’s all so fast with little time between shows, but you never really know, they are true showmen!💖
With gratitude and love as always, Carol 💖💖💖🎶🎼🎵🎤❤️🤗😘🙏🏻☮️

    1. Carol, it’s really close to your concert and then it will be a blessing, given that first you will attend a funeral for a dear friend. The voices of Il Volo will give you relief and consolation.

    2. You’re most welcome, Carol! 😊 I will be in Davie/Hollywood, FL, near Ft. Lauderdale.

      1. Hi everyone. Just watched San Jose concert! They are fantastic! You can tell Ignazio was not up to par but concert was fantastic anyway! Good luck and keep safe for next concert! Love Il volo❤️❤️

  8. Thank you for this wonderful article. I will be seeing them March 18th. in Detroit, can’t wait. I wish they would sing “Como Vai Voce” love the way they sing that song. I have been a fan for 15 years, i have loved them since 2010.

    1. Oh Gail – I so much agree with you on the lacking South American tunes. I truly love and appreciate many of those – in spite of being Scandinavian – but those songs have great rhythms, beautiful harmonies and a very lovely sound when especially performed in the Spanish language. I have never seen or head them perform any of those in Italy:Europe and really wondered why? I wish somebody with influence would tell them that we would love to hear those tunes as well. Best regards – Kirsten

    2. Indeed Gail, you have noticed that their setlist of songs varies depending on where they are and so there is always some surprise to expect, but I think that they will reserve the South American melodies for the South American tour.

  9. Thank you, Daniela and Pat. I always enjoy seeing what our guys are up to. It was nice to see Ricard Jay-Alexander and read about what he had to say. I remember Richard from PBS Miami when IL VOLO were young teenagers. That was the time that I first discovered our guys. I was so amazed the first time I saw them on PBS and have never stopped enjoying them since. You wonderful ladies do a great work. ❤️

    1. Patrizia, Ricard-Jay Alexander’s words were a balm for my heart, they are true words of esteem and affection and “like a mother” I felt proud of “my children”.

Well Giuseppina, stay with us because we will report on each stage of their beautiful tour and what they did!

      1. OUI OUI OUI !!!! MERCI JE N’ATTENDS QUE CELA !!!
MERCI DE VOTRE TRAVAIL D INFORMATION POUR LES FANS D’IL VOLO GIAN PIERO ET IGNAZIO !! JE LES SUIS EN PENSEE TOUS LES JOURS !!! BACI DA NIZZA

  11. I sincerely enjoy going to this website to get my day’s fill of Il Volo, especially of Gianluca. Thank you for making this possible.

I just watched the LA concert on YouTube and enjoyed it immensely. Why? No shaming words via jokes. Once in a while, Ignazio placed his arms on Gianluca’s shoulders (not only on Piero’s as in most concerts) somewhat with affection. And, Gianluca really showed the full power of his chest voice. Exceptional! Exquisite! Yet, he maintains that romantic timbre in his voice that makes you swoon for him. He looks so young with his short, curly hair. Ignazio and Piero sang well completing this incomparable trio. Such marvelous blending of voices. They’re good for & with each other… hopefully forever.

I can’t wait to attend the soundcheck and concert on 3/10/2025 in Clearwater FL. Unfortunately we can’t give gifts directly to the artists. This was the email response I received from Il Volo staff:

“ If you wish to give a gift to the artist, you are welcome to provide your gift to our VIP manager at VIP check-in, who can delivery your gift to the artists backstage. Please note that at this time, we understand it will not be possible for you to present and/or delivery your gift to the artists directly.”

    1. What beautiful words you used for our “boys”, Ann!
But I read that tonight it’s your turn to enjoy the concert, you will have fun and rejoice and then you will miss them. Tell us your impressions in the comments, we are waiting for you!

  12. Thank you indeed for the update on the US concerts. So glad to learn that they are being successful in spite of dealing with some health issues. I have always wondered how they could cope with all the travelling and stressful itineraries – so, of course, from time to time they must endure some impacts from same. Glad though to learn that, apparently, they have been able to sing and perform without it being visual. I really need to know how they do that – I have suffered from a flu since mid January and I still haven’t regained my voice! I want to know their secret.

I enjoyed reading the words of Richard Ray-Alexander – a great applaud to them. I recall him clearly from the “behind the show” takes on the DVD from their Miami x-mas Shoe a long time ago. Grand that he follows their career so fondly.

I love the set-lists for the US Shows. A great mix of their broad repertoire with a slight focus on their intl. standards, many great soli and a bit Bel Canto. Top! Only I could wish for one or two of their South American tunes – I really don’t understand why they “avoid” those, as they are so perfect for their voices and the Spanish language in particular. Maybe they will do that in Florida?

Finally, so great to read about the joy and excitement of you American fans now it has, finally, become your turn to experience our guys live. I wish you a continued fantastic concert time.

Love and greetings from Kirsten 🇩🇰

    1. Kirsten – last time, in 2022 in Clearwater, they did do a couple of them, so I’m hoping that they will again on Monday. I don’t have a Latin bone in my body either, but I love the music–especially when they sing it!

    2. Kirsten, I also can’t understand how they manage to give their best during concerts, even if they are not in perfect shape, and their voices….but how will they do it??

Ricard Jay-Alexander’s beautiful words are words of great esteem but you can also understand great affection and I think this has been maintained thanks to the behavior of our guys who always know how to recognize those who have helped them and do not forget them.

I also love South American music and also when Il Volo sings in Spanish and as you saw something they sang in Florida, but I think that the best will be on the South American tour.

It’s really nice to read the enthusiastic comments of our friends who were able to be at the concerts.

  13. Kirsten, I always enjoy your posts. Hope you are getting your voice back soon.

  14. I certainly hope the boys are all healthy for my first concert on April 4th! When I read some fans see multiple concerts and get front row seats, I can’t imagine the amount of money being spent! I bought 2 seats with meet and greet (because I have never done this and I likely won’t ever do it again) and I will never have the opportunity to go to Europe as my mobility is not good enough! Anyway I am sure I will be totally overwhelmed by the whole experience! I will be sure to write about my experience! I have my pass for the sound check too!
I look at the Flight Crew and all fans as my best friends, thank you for all you write about « our boys »!
