After the break of the Mantua concerts, here we are at the beginning of the summer concerts of the World Tour.
There were also some personal events in our guys’ families, but we’ll talk about that at the end of the post.
JUNE 18
The first of these summer concerts is on the beautiful island of Palma De Mallorca in Spain, at the Estadi Son Moix.
This is the first time that Il Volo has performed in Mallorca, they had already performed there at the beginning of their career but not in a full concert.
As always, I propose to you some short videos.
Surely you will notice a change in Ignazio’s appearance, first of all he seems to have lost weight, he has cut his goatee and also his hair, tell me your opinion, I’ll tell you right away that I’m not satisfied with the haircut. 🤔

Il Volo thrills 3,000 people at Son Moix with their pop lyrics
The Italian trio’s performance on Wednesday was the second event in the ‘Mallorca Concert Series’ organised by Grup Trui.
An unforgettable evening for lovers of Italian music and the great voices of lyrical pop. This was the event held this Wednesday at the Estadi Son Moix in Palma, the traditional stronghold of Real Mallorca, which was transformed into a stage of elegance and emotion with the presence of Il Volo, the acclaimed vocal trio made up of Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble. This recital marked the second performance of the Mallorca Concert Series, organised by Grup Trui, and brought together around 3,000 people in a unique atmosphere.
From the first moment, Il Volo won over the audience with their innate charisma and impeccable stage presence. With absolute domination of the stage and an evident chemistry between them, the trio offered a performance that combined the sobriety of bel canto with the familiarity of pop, a formula that has become their unmistakable signature. The complicity between the three artists was palpable both during the performances and in the breaks between songs, where they joked with each other and with the audience, adding a touch of humor and warmth to a special evening.
During the concert, some of their most famous hits were performed, sparking applause from the audience. Songs that have crossed national borders, conquering a privileged place on the international music scene, were intertwined with classical arrangements and emotional versions. The vocal quality of Il Volo, already recognized worldwide since their debut, shone once again.
The Estadi Son Moix, accustomed to the goals and adrenaline of football, this time vibrated with a different emotion, one that only live music can generate, combined with the beauty of well-tuned voices and respect for the repertoire performed by the group.
This concert reaffirmed the popularity of Il Volo and the consolidation of the Mallorca Concert Series as a high-level cultural event on the island. With a varied program and internationally renowned artists, this series turns the Mallorca stadium into a meeting point for those seeking unforgettable musical experiences. It kicked off at the beginning of the month with Joaquín Sabina, who was sold out, and will continue on Saturday 28th with the Mallorcan artist Rels B (the most listened to Spanish artist on Spotify in 2024). Finally, on July 5th, the successful singer Manuel Carrasco will close the series.

The concert will always be in Spain but in Merida, a city rich in ancient Roman monuments. The place where Il Volo will hold the concert is beautiful.
The concert is part of the STONE & MUSIC FESTIVAL which is the most important musical event in the southwest of Spain. An event that combines music with archaeological heritage.

I have been to Palma but not the teatro, I’m sure the teatro is amazing.
The guys just keep going and give great songs and entertainment.
Ignazio looks good, I think it is just we are not used to the style but in time we will I’ll get used to it.
It doesn’t change who he is, humour and a great voice.
Hopefully now they will rest for a while.
And adorable Piero must have had a great birthday, all the gifts and fuss, good to be spoilt.

Linda, Ignazio’s hair are not even to my taste but I think that Ignazio’s choice is practical with this torrid heat, it is not the first time that in the summer he styles his hair in a very free, almost wild way, perhaps he is trying to give his hair a holiday too!!
Yes Ignazio has thick and curly hair but I still love him and maybe just cut down his beard and make it like Piero . I love his hair but not real short and Gianluca has that beautiful thick and curly hair. I love all 3 of them whatever! Il volo forever ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I like Il Volo very much and thank you Daniela for all the writing in Dutch. As a matter of fact I like the new looks of Ignato. He looks much younger. Their music is soooooo perfect. Re Ignazio’s new look–I also think that he looks cute and younger (not sure about the messy beard though). However, dare I mention that those pants were too baggy!🤭
Yes Judi, another of Ignazio’s vices is to wear very baggy pants that don’t suit him at all, but I understand that they are comfortable, well we forgive him for that too, of course everything we say about his appearance does not affect his skill at all! It must have been a real spectacle walking between the columns of Merida, fantastic.
I think Ignazio wears baggy pants because he moves around so much, tight pants are restricting him. Plus he has torn his pants on more than one occasion during a concert. I was at a concert when he tore both knees! So baggy pants are a much better option.
I don’t like his hair either, but I am all for letting his dimples show!
I’m watching them now and Piero says it’s Christmas, but someone told him it’s his birthday the next day . I loved the picture of him. Was it a drawing or picture of him?

As for trousers, there are very elastic fabrics and I don’t understand why he doesn’t use them, let’s say that Ignazio loves comfort at the expense of shape, I have always thought that he has a nice body, but he is the one who doesn’t think this. 😉
Liebe Daniela, ich gebe dir vollkommen Recht, was Ignazios Aussehen betrifft. Meiner Ansicht nach steht ihm die neue Frisur nicht! Er sieht auch auf vielen Fotos müde aus.
Sein früheres Aussehen fand ich viel besser.
Gianluca stehen die schönen langen Locken sehr gut, auch seine Mimik und Gestik, besonders bei seinen Solis sind sehr sehr gut und überzeugend. Für mich ist er wie ein Märchenprinz, der sich in einem Musical voll entfallen könnte.
Und unser Geburtstagskind Piero wirkt beim Singen immer sehr konzentriert, seine Solis sind wirklich ein Traum…
Die Songauswahl war hervorragend gewählt, jeder konnte seine Stärken zeigen.

I have to agree with you
Auch wenn er jünger wirkt, sieht Ignazio nicht besonders gut aus. Es ist jedoch verständlich, dass er sich eine Auszeit genommen und entspannt hat, wie schon früher, und dann wieder an die Spitze zurückgekehrt ist. Ja, Gianluca sieht mit seinem langen, üppigen Haar gut aus, aber er sieht immer gut aus, und darum hat Ignazio ihn immer (mit Wohlwollen) beneidet.
In fact, even if he may seem younger, Ignazio’s appearance is not the best, but it is really understandable that he took a break and relaxed, as has happened other times, then he returned to the top. Yes, Gianluca with long and rich hair looks good, but he always looks good and this is one of the things that Ignazio has always envied (kindly) in Gianluca.
Thank you, Daniela, for your wonderful coverage of the concerts. I am not really in favor of Ignazio ‘s new look but we all have to take risks and do something different now and then. I appreciate that he is not afraid to try new things. Love him no matter what! ❤️

I agree Ginny, we talk about Ignazio’s appearance just for the sake of talking, we don’t love him any less and we don’t respect him any less, we admire him and appreciate him and we’re happy that he can make these changes in his appearance, we love him anyway.
My husband and I were at this stunning concert in the wonderful 2000 yr old Roman amphitheatre in Merida recently. It was a spectacular show and after almost every song there was a standing ovation!
We have been to many IL VOLO concerts these past 9 years (mostly in Sicily and Italy) and they never fail to impress us with their huge talent and their stage presence. Each of them are real professionals – each with their own style of singing and personal style.
We travel from New Zealand especially to attend these magical concerts. I enjoy reading all the wonderful stories from the IV Flight Crew and Comments from their adoring fans, however I really dont think it is necessary or fair to continually comment publically on their appearances – body shape and size/hair/clothing etc – not in this modern age!

was Ignazios Frisur angeht, gebe ich dir vollkommen Recht. Mir gefällt sie auch nicht! Sein früheres Aussehen war viel schöner. Auf vielen Bildern wirken seine Augen auch müde.
Gianluca wird immer zauberhafter, äußerlich und beim Singen. Seine ausgeprägt gute Mimik und Gestik passen hervorragend zu seinen Liedern, besonders wenn er Solo singt. Er wirkt wie ein Märchenprinz, leicht, locker, elegant und lebendig.
Pieros Stimme ist wirklich ein Traum. Bei seinen Solis. die auch sehr schwer zu singen sind, ist er sehr konzentriert und ernsthaft.

Thanks Daniela, Pat and team for once again bringing us up-to-date with the guys’ doings. Looks like they have yet a couple of great concert successes to add to their fantastic year. Especially the concert in Merida seems to be exactly the kind of environment and venue that suits their performances. When it comes to Mallorca I am not so sure – a converted soccer stadium – but yet, they can sing and perform on 3 boxes at the town square anywhere in the world and be fabulous. I have had a personal dislike of Mallorca for 50 years being one of the most flat mass tourism charter destinations in Europe that I have boycotted following a horrible holiday experience with my husband in our twenties. It may, however, no longer be fair as I do realize that the last 10-15 years the island has tried to wash off the bad image, re-built many hotels and added more luxurious areas, so things have no doubt changed quite a bit to the better. Although these days the locals spit at the tourists, so… Sorry, just wanted you to know the reason why I am not especially excited about the guys singing in especially Mallorca. The attempt of bringing more stylish singers/music to the island may be yet a step to upgrade the bad image of the island though.
Ha ha I love your question as to what we think of dear Ignazio’s new look. What can I say… I both like and dislike it, that is the hair do and beard. I did never like his goatee, so having that shaved down is very fine with me. The goatee made his head too long and narrow, so a well kept beard like Piero’s or even no beard at all looks good on him. As to the hair-do it is likewise a “no go” from me. My husband said he had a cut a la Caesar and that it did not suit him. I agree. Yet, I did never like the very high blown hair he had in his early twenties nor the way too pomade sticky old-school-cumbed style he had i.e. at San Remo 1½ years ago – so it is not easy being Ignazio. I like him to have a more casual short cut with a tiny spike in the front, which he has had a few times. But no matter what hair do – I love him . PS: But I shall have to disagree with you Daniela as to him having lost weight – no, in the contrary, I think. His face is becoming rounded as when he was a teenager, I think… He really need to work on loosing some more kilos and get better fit. When I saw him in May he could hardly get up the floor on his own – back into the fitness center.

You’re welcome, Kirsten! 😊 I just commented to Carol that I think Ignazio’s face looks rounder! Whether it is due to putting on a few pounds or just the haircut….it’s my observation. I went back and looked at another recent concert before the change to see how he looked then.
Kristen, I was so happy to see more successes on their concerts and so many nice words of admiration.
In Mallorca they had never been in concert and so I was happy to read that everything was admired.
As for Ignazio and his new look, I honestly didn’t think I’d spark so many comments, but I have to say that they’re all benevolent, in the sense that every mother would say to her son “what’s up with you today?” but that doesn’t mean she loves him any less…..the sensation of all the comments here was this!
I’m not satisfied with his hair like this at all, but we’ve already seen Ignazio with similar hair in other summers and when he went back to a more appropriate look in the fall everyone appreciated it even more.
I didn’t like the gelled look from Sanremo either, for any of the three, but it was dictated by the stylist and I didn’t like how Gianluca dressed at that time, luckily they understood by themselves that the new look wasn’t like them. Honestly yesterday I saw a video of a young singer that girls really like and I found him really obscene for how he was dressed, ridiculous and ugly…..no comment!!
I’m almost certain that since Mantua Ignazio has lost weight, if you look closely you’ll notice it, and I must say that I liked his goatee, it lengthened his face a little which otherwise seems rounder. But what can you do, Ignazio is always Ignazio and we adore him anyway, the important thing is that he feels good about himself and that his voice stays the same.

As to Igna’s new look…hmmm…I don’t care for the hair (not flattering for him), glad to see the goat gone but why the heavy 4;00 shadow, he’s adorable either way but either a PIERO style beard or Gian’s clean shave….. feel for how heavy his beard is(my Sicilian husband had a very heavy beard like that by 4 in the afternoon!)! He may just be testing new looks out! Love him anyway! I do think he’s lost weight, just not easy for a lot of us! He looks great!

Yes, I think Ignazio has lost weight since the concerts in Mantua.
Usually his hair becomes unruly in the summer, because he lets it loose, he tends to be curly but that’s fine, what I don’t like is that he pulls it hiding his forehead. He is very shaggy and his beard grows very quickly, that’s why sometimes you see him with a thick beard. Let’s let Ignazio have his vacation peacefully, then he has an important commitment awaiting him!!
Hello, I was so glad to see the coverage of En Aranjuez from the “Stone” concert. Like many of us who worship from afar, I have seen hundreds of hours of concerts. But that night, Gianluca’s performance of Aranjuez was riveting. He really takes the risk and digs down deep into his emotions for a remarkable moment.

Don’t like Ignazio’s hair either. Also, I read a review by someone who attended one of the concerts. It was the one where they are singing “Se”, and Ignazio and Piero appear to be arguing while Gianluca is singing. The person the concert was different, no joking from Ignazio, no audience interaction. She said they seemed sad.
Linda, our three lovely guys, are also “human”, have you ever been sad or not perfectly fit for what you have to do……but you have to do it!!! We can and must admit that they too can have moments a little sadder. Not all donuts come out with a hole, but they are still good! 😉😘

Regarding Ignazio’s new look….I loved his look before and this look is an adjustment . I personally prefer him with longer hair and the small beard, but his lovely voice is the same . And with a new baby, the stubby beard might make it hard to hug & love on the little one. LOVE HIM!!🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹♥️

You’re welcome, Cynthia! 😊 I know Daniela tries to get the best videos possible, but sometimes she doesn’t have a choice of where they are available. Sometimes there are a lot and sometimes very few. Also, have you tried using a different browser to access Facebook? I know sometimes on my computer I have a better experience using Mozilla Firefox than using Google Chrome. If you are using a phone there should also be an alternative choice to use. 😀😘

Can I just say I find it kinda odd to comment so much about Ignazio’s hair and beard… and especially about his body?
(I mean Gianluca posts lots of selfies, he likes fashion and experimenting, the comments are expected)… but for Ignazio – based on that Le iene interview, at least I understood it that way – his appearance is a sensitive topic so…
I also believe Klara that in Spain it was really hot and I think it’s incredible to support a concert in such a terrible heat, I don’t know how they do it.
As for Ignazio’s appearance, we talk about it precisely because, as he admitted in the interview with Le Iene, he doesn’t like himself and for him his body is a problem, but we want him to understand that it’s just something he thinks, because in reality everyone admires him. Personally Ignazio has always been my favorite, not only as an artist but also as a guy and I know for sure that he is greatly admired by Gianluca. The comments that have been born here are spontaneous but certainly not bad, everyone is free to express their opinion with respect and always with affection towards these three guys. Unfortunately I have to tell you that I have read some comments (luckily not here) that are really bad towards Gianluca’s girlfriend and I remind everyone that Ignazio has become the least social precisely because of really stupid and bad comments posted years ago, towards him and the girl he was dating at the time.
Thank you Daniela. Wonderful concerts as always. So nice to see more great reviews of the guys. I agree that Ignazio’s new look makes him look much younger and really cute. ( Not that he doesn’t always look great.) His face looks rounder much like when he was very young. I’m not sure about the hair. But as long as he’s happy that’s what matters.
Cathy I too was thrilled to read the beautiful words written about our young men, and I am so pleased to read beautiful reviews where they performed for the first time.
I also believe a lot in the power of music, the beautiful one, the good one, the one sung well that makes us dream and maybe doesn’t make us think about so many sad things, and Il Volo is truly a bearer of this beautiful music.

In Bukarest hatten Gianluca und Piero jeweils zwei Soli, Ignazio kein einziges. Vielleicht ging es ihm nicht so gut. In dem Interview wurden sie gefragt, was sie die Minuten vor Konzertbeginn machen. Antwort: Ignazio holen.

Na verdade, estou muito mais preocupada com o fato de ele não ter cantado sozinho do que com sua aparência física.
Provavelmente há algum problema de não estar em perfeita forma física, o que também afeta sua aparência externa, mas espero que com um merecido descanso tudo se supere.

Margarida, unfortunately I have not found any videos of Ignazio’s solos and this immediately made me think that he has not done any.
In reality I am much more worried about the fact that he has not sung alone than about his physical appearance.

Dolores, that’s for sure, he’s definitely gained weight, but we know that Ignazio tends to do that every now and then, but it’s not a real problem. The problem is that he doesn’t like himself and when he has these periods he likes himself even less, but I’m sure that soon we’ll see him in top form and I don’t mean just externally. We love the carefree Ignazio but I don’t think that for him it’s all roses and flowers.

does anyone know how Barbara’s parents are doing since she died almost a year ago in the car crash ? I read that her mother was too ill to attend the funeral Mass. Does anyone know who was at fault in the crash ?

The man driving the car who caused the accident died instantly, I remind you that probably due to illness, he invaded Barbara’s lane while she was traveling calmly in her car returning from visiting her parents.
Barbara’s mother did not attend the funeral because she has a serious problem with degenerative dementia.
What crazy interest about Ignazio’s haircut! He cannot like that, especially about something so personal. We should let him be himself and be content with his splendid voice and tremendous stage presence… although I admit I don’t like that haircut either. Let’s rather wait for his look of total bliss when pictures with the baby come out.
