EVENTS AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER 2025 by Daniela

And here I am, listing our beloved trio’s latest events at the end of September.
The most notable event was undoubtedly the performance in Rome at the Vittoriano (Altar of the Fatherland) on the occasion of Saint Michael the Archangel, patron saint of the Italian State Police, September 29th.
The Vittoriano, or Altar of the Fatherland, is located in Rome and is an imposing national monument constructed of white marble. Its majestic appearance and central location in Piazza Venezia make it one of the symbols of Rome.
For those unfamiliar with the Vittoriano, or Altar of the Fatherland, it is a complex built between 1885 and 1935. It has represented the unity of the country since November 1923, when the body of the Unknown Soldier was buried in the heart of the Vittoriano.
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is located inside the Altar of the Fatherland (Vittoriano) and commemorates the Italian soldiers fallen and missing in action in the First World War. The body was chosen from eleven anonymous bodies and was buried on November 4, 1921 (Armed Forces Day in Italy). Since then, it has been guarded by soldiers, representing the symbol of all the nameless fallen.
In this splendid setting, Il Volo performed accompanied by the Police Band and in the presence of high-ranking government officials.
Il Volo sang three songs:
Grande Amore
O Sole Mio
Nessun Dorma
Here is their performance. The presenter is Lorella Cuccarini, the charming showgirl who also hosted one of the concerts in Mantua.

LORELLA = I wanted to take you back 35 years, because 35 years ago, not far from here—I’m talking about the Baths of Caracalla—there was a concert, an evening event that has become iconic and has gone down in history: the Three Tenors concert.
Why do I say this? Because tonight we have the privilege of likely experiencing another moment that will leave its mark on history, because three artists take to this stage who, like the Three Tenors, come from an operatic background but have then chosen to intertwine it with popular music.
They are three extraordinary voices, three artists who are the envy of the entire world. There’s only one name, but I’ll name three to introduce them all personally:
Gianluca Ginoble
Piero Barone
Ignazio Boschetto
a.k.a. Il Volo!
(applause—the performance begins with Grande Amore and O Sole Mio)
GIANLUCA = It’s truly an honor to be here with you this evening. A big round of applause for these wonderful musicians, the band, and the maestro, please.
Thank you, thank you so much.
PIERO = The pieces we’re performing are pieces we’ve inherited, part of our cultural heritage, and belong to all of us. The next piece is perhaps the world-famous aria, written by composer Giacono Puccini, from Turandot: Nessun Dorma! (applause)
LORELLA = Phenomenal, Il Volo, my goodness, but I’ve already told you, how good you are, my goodness, thank you, thank you to all our teachers, thank you to Maestro Billi, you’ve truly given us something incredible.
Then you can use these, nothing happens. (She means they can use the microphones on the stand to speak too.)

PIERO = Do we have to talk?
LORELLA = Yes, you have to talk, can I let you speak for once?
IGNAZIO = Absolutely.
LORELLA = Because only if you sing.
IGNAZIO = In case we speak while singing, (he says a few words in a lyrical tone) Tell me… How? (laughter)
LORELLA = I wanted to thank you on behalf of the State Police because I know you’ve worked so hard to be here this evening. Tell us what your days are like and where you need to be in half an hour. (She’s referring to all the commitments that Il Volo has had over the past two days.)
PIERO = No, let’s not talk about it, they’re normal (always very discreet and don’t like to brag).
LORELLA = But at least the public will appreciate you being here (meaning it was difficult to be here due to commitments, but Il Volo is here).
IGNAZIO = Let’s just say we’ve been together for 16 years now, and we’re used to the hectic life, and we’re enjoying it, so it’s nice to always be on the move. But there’s always a great deal of affection for the State Police, and it’s a huge honor for us, It’s a pleasure to be able to collaborate and share music with these great professionals and people.
LORELLA = Have you ever been to this place?
GIANLUCA = No, never, in fact it’s a privilege to have these experiences at our age.
LORELLA = Isn’t it breathtaking? (From that level of the Vittoriano, it’s like being in a square with a view of the panorama of Rome, truly remarkable.)
GIANLUCA = These are indelible experiences that will remain in our memories. We hope it’s not the last time. We’re always here for you, and thank you for giving us this immense opportunity. (applause)
Maybe we’ll come back here with a concert of our own. We look forward to seeing you all.
LORELLA = Sure, the capacity isn’t great, but if you’re doing an event for television…
Speaking of the hectic life, I’d like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Ignazio, who recently became a father.
IGNAZIO = This joy, he has only one month!
LORELLA = Excuse me, I’m taking a moment with him (Ignazio), especially to see how he feels, how he’s doing, if he’s sleeping…
IGNAZIO = No, he doesn’t sleep, but I think many of you already know that, he doesn’t sleep, but all the sacrifices are worth it when he looks at you, smiles at you, we grow together…
LORELLA = You’re crushed…
IGNAZIO = I’m completely in love, I’m in love again, that’s it!
LORELLA = I’d like to know how these two uncles (Piero and Gianluca) behave? Gianluca?
GIANLUCA = I take him with me every now and then, then you’ll see.
LORELLA= You take him with you, should we be worried?
GIANLUCA= Yes, he (Ignazio) worries a little.
LORELLA = Why don’t you trust him?
IGNAZIO = No, not him.
LORELLA = You trust Piero more.
GIANLUCA = I’m more of a child than your son sometimes.
LORELLA = So wait a few years.
IGNAZIO = I’ll wait more than a few years.
LORELLA = Piero?
PIERO = But, maybe I was born to be an uncle, so I’m totally ready.
LORELLA = But are you ready to be nannies too?
PIERO = Can I say that? Then you should know that I think it’s right to be proud of our relationship, because singing and spending a professional life together for almost 17 years isn’t a given.
IGNAZIO = Be a team.
PIERO = And in today’s society, being a team isn’t very common. (applause)
LORELLA = I’d almost say become a family.
PIERO = Regardless of our achievements, our careers, we can say whatever we want, but what we’re most proud of is the maturity between us, the respect between the three of us, and that’s what we’ve tried to do since day one. Listening to each other, finding a compromise, and moving forward. This can’t be done just for our own interests, but because there’s respect, there’s love, and one thing … maybe it’s the first time we’ve said it, and I’m thrilled because the three of us, beyond being colleagues, love each other…
IGNAZIO = We love each other…
GIANLUCA = We love each other very much…
(In Italy, to love each other -AMARSI – is only understood as a couple, to love each other -VOLERSI BENE- is understood as great affection.)
LORELLA = Okay, we understood (that it’s about great affection).
PIERO = I rarely get emotional, but three weeks ago, when Ignazio’s son Gabriele was born, Ignazio asked me to be his son’s godfather, and so I think this is a “strong” gesture. It really touched me, and I also think it’s a message for young people in the individualistic world we live in.
I think sending this message of unity, strength, and teamwork… is like an orchestra; without a conductor, all these talented professionals couldn’t play together. So, I have so much hope in young people, in our peers. I’m no one to give advice, but let’s try to prove this with our actions.
LORELLA = You truly are a beautiful family, thank you again, best wishes for everything, for the future. Another huge round of applause for these phenomena: Il Volo.
IGNAZIO = Thank you, thank you all.
PIERO = Thank you.
LORELLA = Thank you guys!
GIANLUCA = Thanks, see you soon!
Il Volo also performed the Italian anthem: Fratelli d’Italia!

It must have been a truly remarkable event, in the presence of many dignitaries and from the top of the Vittoriano steps where you can see a beautiful panorama of Rome, as Gianluca sends us with these videos and photos.
Immediately afterward, Il Volo is expected at the “Sistine Corridors” for another event, the GLOBAL SUMMIT 2025 World Travel & Tourism Council.
But what are the “Sistine Corridors”?
They are the oldest hospital wards in Europe.
The historic hospital wards commissioned by Pope Sixtus IV Della Rovere for the Jubilee of 1475 are within the ancient complex of Santo Spirito in Sassia (Rome).
Traditionally considered the largest and oldest hospital complex in Europe, with its eight centuries of history and over a thousand square meters of frescoes, they are just steps from St. Peter’s, within a fully operational hospital.
In practice they are long frescoed corridors, where the sick were hospitalized.
One of these lanes now hosts events, and it’s where Il Volo performed.
There are only a few photos of the evening, but it was a very important event on an international level.
And then immediately Il Volo in volo to Verona where they are expected for the memorial to Pavarotti.
September 30th, their arrival at the Arena for rehearsals.

And here, thanks to a video from music_freizeitparks_travel, is Il Volo’s performance.
The event, which featured numerous guests, was hosted by Michelle Hunziker. The evening was filmed by Rai1, but no one yet knows when it will be broadcast. In the meantime, enjoy this video where Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca sing “CAPOLAVORO” alongside three female opera singers, and then, alone but conducted by maestro Placido Domingo, “GRANADA.”
My goodness, so many important engagements in just a couple of days! Before the one in Rome for the Police, Il Volo had performed in Naples at the Hotel Excelsior Vittoria for a private event, of which we offer you this short video.

In short, Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca are highly sought after for high-profile events, certainly also because they embody, in addition to their splendid singing, sound principles.
Congratulations again, guys; your efforts over these 16 years are bearing fruit.
But I want to conclude with a look at the family’s new “little one,” Gabriele, who was photographed out for a walk with his mother’s family.
This shot with mom Michelle is so sweet. ❤️💙
And what about this sweet shot of Ignazio and Gabriele? ❤️💙
See you soon with the first concerts in South America!!

  1. Thank you, Daniela, again and again, for recapping the busy lives of Il Volo; who in my eyes will always be “our boys”. I am old enough to be their grandmother, but their personalities and beautiful voices keep my young. I wish safe travels and great success to them on the next parts of the tour in South America and Europe. I wish you, Daniela, safe travels also as you do an amazing job at keeping up with them.

    1. Thank you Eileen for the compliments, they will always be “our kids” and we grandmothers, mothers, sisters, aunts….so much love!

  2. Hi Daniela and Pat, thank you from sunny and chilly Connecticut, USA! Boy are our boys busy…oops men! They always will be our boys!
No requests for Igna’s birthday wishes? It’s only a couple of days away!
They really did homage to Pavarotti! I think that was the BEST “Granada” I’ve ever heard!
All of the performances were wonderful and the beautiful locations!
Love the photos of Gabriele! He’s precious but I applaud them for not letting his darling face to be photographed, at least not yet…..these days it’s really not safe!
I’m so proud of our ILVOLO for their character ……in addition to those glorious voices and good looks! It’s so heartwarming to hear them declare their love for each other!❤️
With my love and gratitude for you both,
    Carol💖💖💖🎼🎤🎵🎶❤️🤗😘🙏🏻☮️
Wishing the guys safe and healthy travels!(maybe Igna will be able to catch up on some sleep!)

    1. You’re welcome, Carol! 😊 This certainly was a great post by Daniela!

It was decided that after the guys turn 30 there would be no more birthday posts with the slideshows. A birthday post will be put up and everyone can put their comments and birthday wishes on that post. It was done for Piero in June 2025.

Sending love and hugs to you! 💕🤗

    2. Hi Carol, I’m replying from Tuscany, I’m at the beach and the weather is wonderful and warm.
Today, as I see, there’s already a post wishing Ignazio, our sweet dad, another quality added to those already known about our three beloved guys.

  3. Thank you for all the information. We usually only get bits and pieces from FB and Instagram and don’t always understand what the event is for. You explained it all beautifully.

    1. Thank you, Irene, you’ve given me a lovely compliment. In fact, I prefer to understand the event before sharing the news so I can explain it to you and perhaps enrich it with some details about where the event took place.

  4. Thank you Daniela for this wonderful article. I have been watching IL Volo for over 15 years. I’m so happy for Ignazio and Michelle they have been blessed. For me who can’t travel anymore your articles keep me informed. Thanks again. Enjoy your day.

    1. Gail, my goal is to get the news to those who can no longer follow Il Volo at their concerts, so I’m happy to have achieved my goal!

  5. Thank you for the updates. My goodness they are busy. When I read the words of their interviews and their thoughts about each other, their relationship and their mature and thoughtful outlook, I fall in love with them all over again. No wonder they are so popular and sought after.

    1. Janet, they always know how to surprise us. Every time they offer us a new feature, it’s always a good novelty that doesn’t detract from what they are, but rather increases their charm.

  6. Thank you Daniela for all the information and details from the many events. It is greatly appreciated. Each performance was so dignified and professional as always. They all looked so handsome. And the photos of the little one are so cute. I think it’s so nice that Piero will be his godfather and I’m sure Gianluca will be a great uncle. I am always so impressed when they speak about their love and respect for each other. They truly are special young men.

    1. Cathy, these last events have all been very important and as always, during the short interviews, the words spoken are always full of love and respect, they are special guys.

  7. I am so happy for Ignazio and Michelle and for Little Gabrielle. He is a lucky little boy to have such loving parents. Ignazio has spoken so often about having children…back when he was a teenager an (Gianluca and Pierro have often been photographed holding babies and children of all ages. The whole group of Il Volo are full of love.) Wait till they hear the baby say mama or papa…or I love you, or give you a kiss. The love you have for your child.is a love to which no other love can be compared. I believe that’s how God loves is. It is amazing. God bless all of you and your future children. Love,.Mimi

    1. It’s true. Mimi, Ignazio, Piero, and Gianluca have always shown their affectionate side toward children, and now Ignazio has fulfilled his dream of becoming a father. I’m sure he’ll do his best, and it will be the same when the time comes for Piero and Gianluca.

  8. Thank you Daniela and Pat for keeping us up to date. I don’t do much of anything on FB anymore, too many fakes. Too many emoji’s with no comments. The Flight Crew has been my “go to” place for everything Il Volo for 15 years. God bless them as they start the new concert tour.

    1. You’re most welcome, Rose Marie! 😊 I agree about the FB post with just emoji’s and all the fakes. I’ve been going in to the FB fanpage to block and delete the fakes.

    2. Dearest Rosemarie, it’s a real pleasure to read your comment. You’re right, Facebook is full of fake profiles spreading fake news, photos, and videos, but this site is safe, and we’ll do everything we can to protect it.
The new tour started yesterday, it’s going to be a success.
I hope you’re well, and I’m sending you a big hug!

  9. Thank you Daniella for all the new info on our guys Il
Volo. I just felt bad for a few minutes that Igna chose Piero to be God-father, wonder how left out Gianluca felt. Too bad he couldn’t choose them both…..

    1. That was my thought too! Once again Gianluca was a victim of not being from Sicily. In many videos Gianluca expressed he felt he wasn’t loved equally. However I’m certain it is tough being in a trio. Hugs and blessings to all!

      1. Sheila, perhaps it’s not only the Sicilian heritage, but also the fact that they both live in the Bologna area and have been spending more of their free time together. Also, I feel (and I may be wrong about this) that Piero is somewhat more religious than Gian. I did feel bad for Gian though when Piero announced it at such a public forum.

      2. Sheila, once again we are creating a misunderstanding without one existing, the (male) godfather can only be one and therefore no wrong to Gianluca and then the three of them continue to say that they have great respect for their decisions and therefore no problem!!

      3. Judi, there is certainly a little more familiarity between Piero and Ignazio, but the affection between all three is very strong, as is the respect, and a decision would never be made to the detriment of the other.

    2. Mrs. La Porte, Ignazio hasn’t wronged anyone because, according to the Catholic Church, there can be up to two people, but of different sexes—that is, a godfather and a godmother. There cannot be two godparents. I firmly believe Gianluca is aware of this and that no offense was intended.

WAIT AND SEE !!! merci !!!!!! GIUSEPPINA DA NIZZA !!

I sincerely hope that Giuseppina will play a concert on the French Riviera in the future. They’ve been to Monte Carlo several times before, but it’s definitely a very exclusive venue. Pat and I will do our best to keep you updated on their tour dates, so stay tuned!

  11. As always, a thoughtful, beautiful informational tribute to the guys and to the newest Member of the family Gabriel And now the guys will perform tonight in Brazil and Rio de Janeiro I believe amazing amazing their schedules are always so hectic impact but the joy they bring to the world is also amazing. Thank you for the beautiful pictures, videos and words as always!!!!

    1. Thank you Cindi and yes, last night they performed in Brazil, once again their voices will bring so much joy and affection, it will certainly be a great success.

  12. Thank you Daniela & Pat for this beautiful upload – through you two stunning souls – we can catch up on what is going on in the lives of our extraordinarily talented & handsome young men – with all the bad things that are going on in the world – to hear about our boys – lifts our souls & takes us on a journey to a more profound place of pure light & happiness – I love the well chosen places where the boys perform – Italy has much to be proud of – their outstanding historical buildings – the birth place of Bel Canto – the loving culture of family importance – the classic Italian designers who have taught the world about supreme fashion – the Italian warm hearts & most of all – the beautiful tenors the world will never forget – before I go I would also like to wish Ignazio & Michelle all the love in the world & best wishes on the birth of their baby son & for the good choice of making Piero & Gianluca Godfathers – such an Italian thing to do!! – much love to you two gorgeous girls – from down under!!

      1. Sheila – be nice!! – I was trying to encourage the boys to include Gianluca – they are all part of the IL Volo family – one can have more than one Godfather & in case you were not aware – you did not spell Ignazio’s name correctly.

      2. Thanks for your comment! My apologies for spelling Ignacio’s name wrong! I always try to be nice in my posts, just accurate. The last thing I would ever say about the boys would be hurtful or negative-they are very special to me.

    1. You’re welcome, Jude! 😊 As always, it is my pleasure to help Daniela get these stories published. Sending love and hugs to you! 💕🤗

    2. Always so many compliments from you, Jude. I must say that Il Volo always performs in very beautiful places, and I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to them a little. It’s true that there are so many places to see and experience here, and Il Volo is certainly our best ambassador. I agree with you that in this time of so much bad news, what they say and sing is a balm for the heart.

  13. Thank you for this lovely post.
So I went with a friend to Verona to see the Pavorotti tribute this week.
We arrived Monday to lovely weather.
On Tuesday morning we went to visit the Arena which was amazing and heard some rehearsals.
You don’t realise how big this place is.

I don’t think that Il Volo had arrived yet.
    Just heard Jose Carreras.
    So exciting.

Anyway in the evening you had to arrive an hour earlier.
    The show started 8.30.
First was Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras singing My Way. Amazing for their ages.
So many others I don’t remember all their names.
But eventually our lovely Ragazzi came and sang with the 3 female sopranos Caplovaro.
Then Il Volo sang on their own Granada.

Amazing my first time to see them and hopefully not the last.
It was magic especially being in the amazing arena.
Only downfall it started to rain but heavy and we got soaked. Everyone getting out to shelter.
But so worth it, even though now I have a cold.
My report isn’t as good as your Daniela or Pat.
Just to share the wonderful experience.
I know the ragazzi went off later Wednesday to Brazil.
They will as usual be fantastic

    Thank you again.
    Warm wishes
    Fenella xx🫶

    1. Thank you, Fenella, for sharing your first time seeing IL VOLO! 😊 Next time you see the guys maybe you could write a story, include photos and email it to us. We would be happy to publish it here!

    2. Fenella, I’m so glad you were at the Arena, and I think I understand that this great monument amazed you. Indeed, it is. Taking part in a concert at the Arena has a special charm. Imagine an entire concert by our guys and maybe even seeing them pass by you—wonderful. Thanks for the news you brought us, I’m glad you enjoyed the show.

  14. Thank you very much for this summary of the last very busy days! 🤩 events in two days and with the flight, they are really amazing! I have a feeling that the boys probably rested on the plane to Rio! As some have written before, on FB (especially IV Sicilia Fanpage) posts about the boys’ current activities appear really quickly and are from reliable sources. But I can’t always fully understand which events the posts are about. So I always impatiently wait for Daniela to clarify for us! For which I and Patt deserve a huge thank you! 😃 I just hope that we will soon see a recording from Verona on Rai.

I can’t even imagine what it must be like for Ignazio to have to leave Gabriele for two weeks so soon after her birth. But I think he will spend every free moment on video calls! ❤️I know from my own experience what huge progress tiny children make in the first months of life! It is clear that he is happy and excited about his new role and I wish him the best! The only thing I regret is that he had to choose between his two best friends. As far as I know, the Roman Catholic Church unfortunately allows a maximum of one godfather and one godmother (one man and one woman, you can’t have two men). Yes, she probably played the role of Sicily, but no one can be mad at him for that. And since I’m convinced that Ignazio and Michelle are not finished, I’m sure Gianluca will become a godfather too. It’s just a question of how soon… 😉

    1. Nice reply Iva – I have actually learned something thanks to you – not being a Catholic – I did not know the rules on one Godfather – thank you for clarifying this.

    2. Iva, thank you for the wonderful compliments. It’s truly special to me to know you’ve been waiting for our posts to fully explain how the events unfolded. This time, the locations of the events were also very important, and a few more words about the ones I saw were appreciated.

What you say about the Catholic Church’s choice of godfather is absolutely accurate and removes any doubt as to why only Piero and Gianluca were chosen.

The tour began yesterday, and Ignazio will certainly miss Gabriele and Michelle, but fortunately, today there are many ways to quickly connect, and Ignazio will be amazed at Gabriele’s progress when he returns home.

  15. What a great article of all of the events for the guys. Loved the pictures and videos too and also the pictures of Michelle and Gabriele . Will there be anything about Pavarotti’s celebration party or did I miss it?
    Thank you very much
    Linda
