LIBIAM NE’ LIETI CALICI
This video of LIBIAM NE’ LIETI CALICI is so funny.
While Gianluca, Ignazio, and Piero are singing the song, Piero notices a pin sticking out of Ignazio’s jacket at the shoulder, and he thinks about pushing it in. Naturally, the pin pricks Ignazio’s shoulder, and he goes backstage to see what happened (all while the song continues). Then Ignazio comes back on stage with the pin in his hand and shows it to Piero, and Gianluca also comes over to see the pin, all this while the song continues, the guys keep singing, and the audience laughs loudly!! It’s Ignazio’s turn to sing, and instead of saying:
“Life is in the jubilation…..”
he says:
“The pin is in the jubilation….” 😂🤣😂
Our guys are so funny!! 😂🤣🤣

In the video:
GIANLUCA = What I like about Piero: his power, his confident stage presence, his determination.
PIERO = I’ll tell you what I like about him (Ignazio): his smile. When he smiles, it’s beautiful.
IGNAZIO = I really like the naturalness of his (Gianluca) movements.
GIANLUCA = See you on stage!

November 11th MANNHEIM
The concert was in Sap Arena.
OPERA
IL MONDO
I found almost the entire concert held in Mannheim, unfortunately it was filmed from the side but it provides almost the entire context of the evening.
I’ll translate for you the beautiful speech Ignazio gave at the beginning of the video, after “Who Wants To Live Forever,” to introduce his solo (Memory) 🥰
In the German language, Ignazio asks Piero to leave the stage. Gianluca asks if he’ll sing alone, and Ignazio says they both have to leave, then decides to address the audience in Italian. (someone also asks for Sicilian language)
IGNAZIO = I think that in these almost 17 years together, which however feel like 20, they have been wonderful years, and I think that behind these 17 years now, there is a great message that we bring especially to the younger ones, because today we are in a world where individualism is increasingly common, and being in a group and staying together like we are after 17 years is really difficult.
We have always based our relationship on three fundamental factors: RESPECT, LOVE and TRUST. ❤️(applause)
It’s because I respect them (Piero and Gianluca) that I sent them away 😂 (it’s ironic – laughter), and it’s because of the love for them that I said they should go away,🤣 (laughter) and the trust is that they will then come back 😍(laughter).
Over these 17 years, we’ve also tried to showcase our three totally different personalities. People say I’m the craziest, I don’t know how to say “crazy” in German (someone in the audience tells him and he tries to pronounce it – applause).
People say I’m the craziest, but despite being the craziest, I’m the first to get married (applause), maybe that’s also why I’m crazy, anyway, even though I’m the craziest, I was the first to have a child, I’m a dad (applause), of course you’re all happy, but I’m the one who doesn’t sleep at night and changes diapers. 😍 💙
We (Il Volo) also have three different voices, and we try to demonstrate these three different voices through solos, through music, singing solos.
Tonight I’ll sing a song that’s very special to us because it reminds us of 2012 when we toured the United States with the great Barbra Streisand. It was a wonderful memory, especially because Barbra Streisand has sung this next song countless times, and her version is one of the most beautiful versions in the world and will remain in the history of musicals. 🥰
Ladies and gentlemen: Memory!

And this leg of the tour has also concluded.
Mannheim was the last of six concerts held in Germany, and I’d say it was a great success.
But there’s not much time to relive the successes; the next stop is just around the corner.
See you soon in the Czech Republic!!
Daniela 🤗

Hi
I was at the Prague concert last night and met up with Klára Kučerová. We saw the soundcheck together. I was lucky to have seats in the fourth row and was mesmerised by the whole show.
Two hours went by far too quickly.
Jill, I’m so glad you were at the Prague concert and especially that you enjoyed Il Volo.
It’s true, when you like something, time flies!
Hi Daniela
Thank you again for your post.
Always so lovely. I have been watching on Instagram and some on Facebook.
The one with Piero finding the pin in Ignazio is very funny, they are so professional
There last night tonight in Budapest and them for 9 days, a break maybe !,they will be looking forward to see their families i am sure.
Thank you again, have a great weekend.
Warm wishes
Fenella x❤️
Fenella, I also laughed at the pin Piero found on Ignazio’s jacket.
I hope our guys get some rest these days because so far it’s been a tough pace, but with a lot of satisfaction.
Oh, if I only was younger and had your life…but I will continue to live through your travels with “our boys”. Thank you for bringing them to life for me and others, especially when we are thousands of miles away. Safe travels to you and Il Volo for the balance of their European tour and the rest of 2025. You are ALL, always in my thoughts and prayers. Peace…
Thanks for the compliments, Eileen, but I want to remind you that I’m not traveling to the concerts. I’m also following them from my home, and once I have the news, I’ll be sure to pass it on to you all. 😘
Thank you Daniela,
I have followed the Guys on this magnificent
European Tour. Very Fantastic. Each Performance more exciting and spontaneous and masterful talent than the last one. Thank you and thank them.
Always a Fan,
Mary G. Dwork
I agree with you Mary, every performance is exciting and then seeing all those people who flock to see our guys’ concerts…priceless.
Thank you Daniela. I lived for 2 years in Mannheim many years ago and wish I could have gone to the Il Volo concert there. I really enjoy your reports about the concerts, the musical videos, and what the boys are up to, and hope to see them again in the near future. Thanks again.
Even more so, I understand why you would have wanted to be in Mannheim for the concert.
Not all dreams come true, but let’s work to make them come true.
Let’s hope for a future concert!
.
How wonderful, Margit, that you were able to go and listen to our guys and you were satisfied.
From what I’ve seen in the various videos, it’s clear that the German audience was satisfied and showed up in large numbers. Everyone has their own way of expressing themselves, but it’s certain that everything was appreciated.
I’m glad you enjoyed the guys, Margit! 😊 And I agree that it is nice for them to try to say a few words in the native language. 😃 They are the best! 🧡
Daniela, thanks for translating that sweet (& funny) speech of Ignazio’s. And to you and Pat for all the photos and videos.
I just got an email from official Il Volo saying that the guys are going to be in three Mexico cities next March. I was thinking around JC Reactions and how much he loves the guys but have never seen them live. I wish we could help him get a ticket for March if he’s close enough to one of the venues.
Any thoughts about this?
You know, Judi, I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday. If JC Reactions can get to one of their concerts, I’d love to, and maybe they’ll post some more reaction videos!
Fingers crossed !
Thank you for your posts everything is beautiful, the videos and pictures and I love the blue suits and Piero has that fancy cumberbun on and Ignazio makes fun of it . But Piero says I don’t care and I’m not worried about my height because when they see my eyes. the audience stops at my eyes. He is so handsome and of course Ignazio makes intake care and can’t wait till your next post! Love them and you!
Linda. USA
Yes Linda, they are really adorable and know how to win our hearts!
Gaetano Barone
Happy Birthday and many more!!!❤️🎂❤️🎂🎉
Once again thanks a million Daniela and Pat for taking us along on the guys’ European Tour. So great to see how well they are received everywhere. And their singing is spotless and wonderful as ever. Oh, I wish so much that one day they will include Scandinavia in their itinerary as well – I feel sad for all my fellowmen that misses out of these exeptional performances with one of the world’s so absolutely best singers. I am so privilliged being able now and then to travel to Italy to hear them – not everyone can afford or are able to do so. Well, we’ll just have to see what the future brings.
Warmest regards – Kirsten, Denmark
Thank you, Daniela for this wonderful post. I loved the memories Ignazio shared with us of the group and his precious baby. They have had some wonderful moments. I have followed them for 16 years and have loved every moment. Happy Holidays too all! 💗
