Hi Everyone.
Well, the Chicago concert is history, but the stories and pictures will live on. More about that later.
Tonight the concert is at the Historic Detroit Fox Theatre. Il Volo has already arrived, ready to give another spectacular concert.
The Fox Theatre is located in downtown Detroit, near Grand Circus Park Historic District.
The Theatre opened in 1928 as a flagship movie palace in the Fox movie chain. Note that it was the first one built to include a speaker system for sound films. It was designated as a “National Historic Landmark” in 1989. The Fox was completely renovated in 1988.
The Fox hosted Shirley Temple in the 30’s, Elvis Presley in 1956 and subsequent concerts by Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Liza Minelli and Prince.
Il Volo is in good company, wouldn’t you say?
The most anticipated event tonight is that Marie, Loretta and Mary are attending. Those of you Flight Crew members that have been here a while are aware how important this is. Waiting for the pictures and stories coming later is the hard part! Who do you think hugs Ignazio first????
We hope you enjoyed the pictures sent by Kelly from last night’s concert! There will be great stories of Kelly’s experience. Our pretty resident teenager, Elizabeth has a wonderful story to tell, so come back later when they are posted. Ann has commented on hers already.
Twitter, Tweets and Keeks:
Gianluca tweeted last night: “Thank you Chicagoooooooo, we love you”
Gianluca tweeted this morning: “Greetings from Detroit, it’s 6:27am, It’s better if I go to sleep again”
Ignazio sent via Instagram:a picture of him hovering over a large dessert bowl, saying “Why!!! too delicious”
Check out the radio interview with WBEZ Chicago, World News. You can get the link on Mundial.
Good Luck and Love, tonight, Il Volo! I hope you’re ready for Marie and Loretta.

I have not been in the Fox since I was in college about 120 years ago. I was once several great theaters in downtown Detroit in those days. I am sure all will go well again. I keep fingers crossed right now with these so-called “one-nighters all in a row. This is where the voice really gets tired and worn out. These boys have the talent and the strength to do it and I hope they stay healthy.
With the addition of Atlantic City Trump – Taj Mahal on Sept 28 – that makes another series of one-nighters. wooow !
Myron—– I am so thankful that The Boys built themselves up physically with trainers at a gym when they had the month in LA before going home this summer. All 3 look fantastic as a result, and should feel good and in top form.
However, I worry about Gianluca. His sleep habits seem to be all out of whack, and I’m afraid he’s not getting enough rest, and that’s bad for the voice, isn’t it? And as you said, the concerts in city after city with very little time off must take their toll over a period of time. I guess we just have to hope and pray that their managers and voice coach know what they’re doing!
As always, it’s so good to hear from you.

Uh oh! Guess what day it is! The day for Marie, Loretta, and Mary is finally here, after so long talking about it. I know they are going to have a blast. This is one I definitely can’t wait to hear about.
Have a great time ladies!!!! Don’t forget the hugs from us, too!
Something tells me Marie and Loretta and Mary will have an amazing story…
Speaking of amazing stories, go check out Elizabeth’s in the Experience section! 🙂
Oh, Linda—– I just looked at the clock and it’s 10:25 pm, just about M&G time in Detroit. Is the bail money handy? If so, let the mayhem begin!!!
Helen
I have it on good authority that Marie and friends enjoyed this YouTube (among others?) for their “pre-game show”.

I can’t wait to hear the details, ladies! And I realize you need to rest up from your big day! Soon!
Love and anticipation,

Late on 9/7 and just got home from what turned out to be a fabulous time in Detroit and then Canada…More on t hat later….just wanted to say that remember when I said I hoped that Piero would come down into the audience and sit on my lap like he did in Miami with another woman, Well, if you saw the picture that Marie sent you will see that it was even better….he got into the car and sat beside me and was so sweet. I can hardly believe it. Dreams do come true, Jeanine.
