In Case You Missed It…….

Hi Everone,

The concert last night was a rousing success. The concert was held at the exciting Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. The Bell Centre was built in Downtown Montreal in 1996, it replaced the aging Montreal Forum that was built in 1924. The Centre is considered the most technologically advanced venue in the world. Aside from concerts and other events, it is the home of the legendary ‘Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club’ There are some Photos of the concert on Il Volo Mundial.

Il volo now has two days off before the concert in Pittsburgh on September 11th at Heinz Hall.
We all hope Ignazio, Piero and Gianluca get a good rest for the next 2 days, they have a grueling schedule ahead. It’s a good time to give those beautiful voices a rest!!

No recent Tweets, they’re taking a little time away.

Gianluca says in an article found on Team Il Volo by ‘Times On Line’, “When we sing together it’s a beautiful sound”. The article points out that Gianluca said he is the outgoing member of the group and Ignazio the most bashful. That doesn’t sound like the Ignazio we know!!
The article reminds us of the groups appearance with Barbara Streisand in Her PBS special around Thanksgiving. “Buon Natale”, Il Volo’s PBS Christmas Special will air in December. Their new CD of that name will also be available..

Check our Blog, there are many great pictures and stories from Marie of the Detroit Concert.

Have a good few days off, “Boys” get rested and ready for Pittsburgh!

Linda

  1. Thanks for the history. I like Canada and have been there a couple of times. I would love to visit Montreal someday. I travel via the Internet with the live web cams a lot. Nova Scotia is another place that I so want to visit. Canada is a beautiful country also.

    1. Jeanie, I’ve only been to Canada once and that was to Montreal for the day (I lived in New York at the time). I hit it just right because they were having a jazz festival. Montreal was beautiful and I had such a great time. Hope you get there one day.

      1. I hope I get there someday. PBS had a show on about Nova Scotia and Newfoundland tonight. I got to see the front of my favorite Lighthouse, Peggy’s Cove.

  2. So glad they had a good concert in Montreal and will get a good rest for two days because we are looking forward to their Pittsburgh concert!

  3. Yes, I thought it strange that Gianluca said he was the most outgoing when it is Ignazio and Piero who have the most to say on stage! Ignazio hasn’t talked a lot in the interviews I’ve seen lately though, so maybe that is what he meant. Gianluca certainly seemed the most outgoing in the interview about who is the most romantic! Anyway, whatever they do or don’t do they are perfect and I love listening to them especially the new solos.

      1. About Ignazio being bashful. I have heard him in interviews where he has a hard time expressing himself in English. It doesn’t always come out right–you get the gist of what he is saying but it could be better expressed. Maybe he is self conscious about his English and that is why he doesn’t talk so much. But I agree–bashful? Never!

  4. Either Gianluca was joking (I don’t think so), or he was seeing him and his Ignazio brother from a different angle. Around girls socially, I think (at the moment, and growing boys are constantly changing) Gianluca may be more outgoing than Ignazio. Oh, now I’m already taking it back. Oh, let’s just say, we all have our moments and our aspects of life that we feel more or less confident in. Perhaps Gianluca sees some angles that we don’t see.

Looking forward to more info on where to see this interview which includes who is the most romantic,

    1. Linda–I went to Team Il Volo blogspot and scrolled down. couldn’t find that interview–there was another one that I read several days ago. Then I put it in the search engine, and that didn;t work either. Does it have a headline that says Times On Line? Because there isn’t one there now with that heading.

  5. Look up on youtube Il Volo en Mun2pop. It’s in spanish, but you can see who has the smooth moves! Gianluca ends with “you are a beautiful dream, from which I never wish to wake”. Ignazio was “If you were music I would play you all day”. Piero mistranslated and used prender which is ignite or set on fire, didn’t get the rest, but the others thought it was hilarious!

  6. Thanks Linda, I just read that article. Very nice–the person writing it also seems to “get” Il Volo!

  7. TICKET TO PITTSBURGH CONCERT.

    Hi, folks,
My friend and colleague Renee, who introduced me to IL VOLO Christmas time of 2011 (and who lives in Pittsburgh), just wrote to me that they have
“an extra ticket [to IL VOLO Pittsburgh concert in Heinz]..on the floor…about 15 rows back $70.” (I believe one of their group of 6 or 7 friends decided to switch to a Meet & Greet ticket, which this ticket is not.)

If you are interested in arranging to attend the concert with Renee’s extra ticket, please email me at
    jrd1776@gmail.com
and I will give you Renee’s contact info, so you can make arrangements. Please do not contact me if you are not definite that you want the ticket, as I’ve shared all I know, and Renee will be working during the day tomorrow, so this will be first come first served.

I wanted to help Renee connect with one of you because I thought someone was looking for a ticket, and Renee is a wonderful IL VOLO lover! This is unusual and I hope OK to make this post.

Trusting, meanwhile, that our boys are relaxing and resting,

    1. Since I’m not a fan of flying, I would need to drive. So let’s see…if I leave now, I might be able to get up there in time. Oh wait, there’s that little thing called work. Not sure my boss would appreciate the time off. Tempting though;-) Thanks, Jeanine. I hope someone takes that offer.

  8. Did you see they’re going from Montreal to Pittsburgh by bus? Over 9 hour ride.
    Really?

Wishing you comfortable relaxation, guys! and maybe some pretty scenery out the windows!

  9. Just got back from the concert in Montreal (took a day in the US on the way back) – did anyone mention that for the “Maria” song Gianluca took TWO (2) ladies up to his couch ? Ignazio had to comment to Piero – “Look ! Gianluca has TWO !”

    1. Oh how cute, Gianluca taking TWO ladies up on his couch. Of course Ignazio had to make his comment to Piero. Just too funny!

From your comment below – Glad you enjoyed the Concert. They are wonderful aren’t they. I bet the French song was beautiful.

  10. In Montreal, the concert was in English the same as everywhere else, but they sang a song in French which was really nice since they probably had to learn it specially… I was hoping for the full orchestra but we had the 5 piece section with the added music track. Loved the concert, but thought Ignazio was a little off, perhaps tired ? The strain of shows day after day and travelling too must take its toll.

    1. I wonder if the song in French was “Tous les Visages de l’Amour”. There’s a nice studio clip of them working on it with their sound engineer and mixer Humberto Gatica. You can find it by searching YouTube for
Il volo en el estudio…grabando en francés “Tous le visages de l’amour”

If it was a different French song, I would be interested to hear more.

      Thank you for sharing!

  11. Thanks, Marie! Not yet. Oh, and Renee said there were no M&G tickets left, so the available ticket must be health related.
    ~ Jeanine D.

  12. Jeanine, I think you are right, I checked the video and the song they sang sure sounded like “Tous le visages de l’amour”, it was beautiful. When they finished Gianluca said ” I hope you understood our French!”.
    Sandy.
