Il Volo Professional ~~ February 26, 2014

Hey, y’all (Yes…I do have southern roots… ;D)!

First of all, on behalf of my board sisters, I would like to say “Thank you” for all the nice compliments on how we’re doing with the site.  We still can’t believe how much has happened in such a short time, and we work hard to try to make this the best site we can the best way we know how.  That you guys love it so much means the world to us.  🙂

That being said, we are always looking for ways to make it better, and one of the things we would like to do is to try to capture the more professional of Il Volo’s activities in a more timely fashion and make them easier to find and keep track of.  I don’t think we’ll do this everyday, but as we find important news items to share.  So here’s the first one.  Hope you like.  🙂

Gianluca  Poses for Pictures… ilvologianlucaarticle

…to go with his article, “Dall’ Abruzzo al mondo Gianluca ha spicatto Il Volo.”

Now, I know I might be biased *bats eyes innocently*, but I’ve always said that if this music thing doesn’t work out, Gianluca would do as a model in a pinch.  To further bring that point home to me,

All About Il Volo has translated a short interview of Il Volo conducted by “I Like” Magazine (https://www.facebook.com/ilikemag).

Most of the answers, I think we already know, but I know none of us get tired of reading about our guys, and some of their answers are cute.  🙂

  1. What a wonderful interview. Thank you Kelly for posting it. I miss Our Guys so much and can’t wait for the Tour 2014 to begin. Hoping Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca will be coming to the Twin Cities, but I’m going to get to a concert this year by one way or another with Jane and Mary B. It would be such fun if we could meet up with others from the Flight Crew!

  2. Thanks for the informative & interesting articles. Anything about The Boys is great! I called my PBS rep Susan on Mon & she gave me the Concert info for Los Angles. June 7 Greek Theater 8 PM. Can buy PBS tickets on March 6. This will be our 3rd time to see them. They are such fun in person! As beautiful inside, as they are outside! And they remembered us! Love them. Shared my 85 the birthday at the Gibson last Aug 28. Enchantment!

    1. Great our guys will have a concert in LA on June 7. So if they don’t come to SF area, LA is close enough for me. Thanks Anne Q for the heads up. I agree also they are beautiful inside out and so glad you got such a special birthday treat.

  3. Anne nice birthday treat! Elaine, if I’m not mistaken, you’ll have your own birthday treat this year!

Thanks Kelly for the interview. Can ALWAYS look at more pictures!!!

      1. I think sometimes that the weather in the States has been sometimes even worse than ours! But by June it had better be warm!!

  4. If anybody ever asks you the meaning of the word “photogenic”, the perfect definition is “Il Volo”. Period. 😉

Thanks for the article and the links. I love coming here and being able to hear more news of The Guys.

  5. To the Flight Crew Board Members, et al:

I have just talked to my friend, Dolly, and she is willing to go almost anywhere with me to see Il Volo! So, please let me know if a large group of you are going to gather for a concert or two. We’ll need to buy a block of GOOD tickets(!) and Dolly and I would like to be included. I know we have to wait for the official tour schedule, but I just wanted to give a “heads up” so that Dolly and I can join some of you. It would be so great to put faces with names, and I can’t wait to meet you!!! I am praying that this all works out!
    Helen

    1. Thank you, Loretta. Yes, I live in Dallas, TX, but Dolly and I are willing to travel….California, Florida, Midwest.. We” just have to see where the troops gather!!!
      Helen

    1. Yes, Allene, I listened to it too. I just want to add that at the beginning of the video it says that the song was not only arranged by Ignazio – he also wrote it! We’ve been waiting a long time to hear some of his songs. His talent extends beyond his wonderful voice!

  6. I will meet you all in Chicago, for a concert and hopefully a meet and greet. if it can be arranged !!!! What a BLAST that would be !!! I’m holding my breath that they will be back in Florida. I know they love Miami so I think it is a distinct possibility that they will return. I can’t wait to see them again !!! Miss them so-o-o much !!!

  7. Loretta, I am another one FED UP TO HERE with winter! It is 9 below right now and going down to 18 below tonight. Plus more SNOW! on the way. I am trying
    very hard to THINK SPRING.

  8. You know Allene I had to cancel a doctors appointment today because it is like a wind tunnel around this apartment building & I couldn’t go out. I got blown over at Walmart when it was windy in January & hurt my head & hip & was in bed a few weeks so I was actually afraid to go out today. If I had the money no one would see me anymore because I would be in Hawaii permanently. So I am finding it hard to expect spring because I only hear on the weather network how much more snow is coming or freezing weather. Bummer
So you stay in & keep warm & protected. Nice talking to you

What did you think of that girls voice, Ignazio’s song & arrangement was excellent

    1. Yes Loretta, I thought she was excellent. My problem was that the whole time she was singing I was hearing in my head Gianluca doing the first low part and the other higher parts sung by Piero and Ignazio. I listened to it a few times, and I did appreciate her singing it.

  9. Hi, everyone! So I finally took a peak (but just one!) here, as I am still dealing with construction in my home, as well as a 6-part project that I need to finish (2/3 done!).

Thank you for carrying on here, even when I am unable to look in. I so look forward to some form of catching up over the next few weeks.

So, a couple days ago I peaked at Mundial’s photos and saw the enlarged one of Gianluca that is shown in a smaller size on the top of the article cited here. I had the strangest experience! I did not believe it was Gianluca. Yes, I checked every feature, and they were identical, but it did not feel at all like Gian’s energy. I don’t know if it was because the photo was distorted or because Gianluca was being asked to project an image that isn’t the true soul of Gianluca. Then today I saw another image from the photo shoot, the one with part of the beautiful bricks of the arch and the plant. This one also did not feel at all like Gianluca, but in a very different way. The first one felt stony, the second one passive. I have never felt either of those essences from Gian in any other setting or image, and certainly he has many many different looks and moods.

I’m relieved to realize that these truly are photos of Gian, at the same time that I don’t want anyone asking him to project anything that isn’t his true magnificent self.

GIANLUCA, YOU ARE PERFECT AS YOU ARE. BASK IN YOUR MAGNIFICENT ESSENCE EACH DAY, AND WE ALL ARE BLESSED!

    Love and gratitude to all,
    ~ Jeanine DuBois, Compassion’s Doorway

  10. I was completely blown away, Loretta, when you told me that Ignazio had written the song as well as done the arrangement. I have since watched the video twice, and Just love it. I thought that Katya did a very good job singing it. I would love to hear Our Boys sing it. And also it would be great to hear the words in English.
