Throwback Thursday

The Guys have been tweeting about working more in the last few days.  Piero tweeted that they are recording in Bologna; Gianluca mentioned that he is working hard for us (well, he actually used the word, “y’all”, which cracked me straight up!  Speaking my language; I love it! 😀 ); and it looks like they were all in Milan (what could they be up to?).

outline question

With the US and Canadian tour coming up (not soon enough for most of us), seeing them perform with another great musician, striking out and talking about original music and their fame growing throughout the world, I think it is an exciting time to be an Il Volo fan.  So, on this Trowback Thursday, I’d like to go back to when they took North America by storm–just to remember how it all began.  Enjoy!

  1. Thanks for these blasts from the past of our boys-now-men!! They continue on an incredible journey and I’m so happy to be along for the ride!! Looking forward to June to see them for real. Bringing lots of Kleenex cuz l think the tears of awe and happiness will flow!!

      1. You’re welcome! I love the video of them with their dreams…it melts my heart to think of how they have come true. 🙂

    1. I agree, I love every video I have seen of them, none have disappointed me ever… But every time I see this one, how innocent our boys were sharing their love of NYC…Wanting to sing in Radio City Music hall is their dream, singing on the streets, just absolutely makes me smile every time I see it… Piero without his signature Red Glasses, Ignazio with the biggest dimples on his cute round face… And Gianluca with his natural curls… We fell in love with them when they were just little boys… Now they are beautiful young men… But they still have that sincerity about them that makes you love them all the more…

  2. Beautiful piece Kelly. It is amazing to look back to where it all started. Couldn’t have happened to three nicer guys! They have earned and deserve it all!

  3. Thanks Kelly its always a joy to me to see them when they were starting out. They can do no wrong they are always perfect & my wish for them is to sing at Carnegie Hall. I should have been at Radio City but from now I am not going to miss important venues.

  4. Thank you Kelly for the link to register for tickets! Wouln’t it be something if one of us wins? I can certainly dream. 🙂

    1. I really need an Il Volo bumper sticker! I wonder why none are available? When I go shopping, I open my car windows AND the sun roof and crank up the volume on my car radio and notice the cars I pass or stop next to, to see how many folks are receiving a little sliver of heavenly music. Share the love, right? I don’t do bumper stickers, but for our guys I’d be happy to advertise.

  5. I am looking to meet up with anyone going to the Nashville concert on June 17. I will be driving from Houston area to TN to see family, then on to the concert. Would love to sit with a fellow Il Volo Flight Crew member. My husband won’t be able to make the trip with me. Thanks!!

    1. Hi Andrea: I’ll be driving from Fort Worth, and two other ladies from DFW area are flying. Have you made your “Flight Crew” badge? We’ll be meeting before the concert and hopefully some of the die-hards will meet after the M&G as well. I know that I will be too wound up to leave the M&G and just go home and to bed! I’ll probably be up half the night! Let’s try to meet up – will you be coming through the DFW area? Maybe we can caravan? Email me at qwerty89570@yahoo.com if you’d like to talk.

    2. Hi, Andrea,
I’m one of the 2 ladies that are flying to Nashville from Dallas. There are a bunch of us from all over going to the Nashville concert, and we’ll probably meet for dinner before the concert. Hope to meet up with Linda P. from Ft. Worth. Please email me at helenbridg@gmail.com if you want to discuss plans. Would love to meet you!
      Helen

    3. Hello Andrea,
My husband and I are both going to the Nashville Concert also. Hope to see you there.

      1. Thank you Linda, Helen, and Jeanie for your replies. I am so excited about the Nashville concert. Can’t wait to meet all of you there!

  6. Thanks Kelly! I love all the videos – especially the one from American Idol – Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca were great and just look at their smiles! Of course, my favorite part of this clip is Il Volo, but I love watching the reaction of the 3 contestants. I believe they are in shock, they can’t believe what they are hearing!

    1. Hi Michelle, I can fly to DC to meet you if you can go to Sicily for the July 20 concert. If you or anyone else wants to go, please let me know. I have tickets for Modesto Concert in June. Will need to get tickets for Taormina. Waiting to hear. Thanks!

  7. Too bad we can’t help with their advertising & update their website because it is last years information from when I looked at it awhile ago. I don’t understand why they don’t keep things updated. I would gladly work for free. I would like to see the whole world know about Il Volo.

  8. Hi K, Ref yr note above, It is likely they are to be there live as they are nominated for the Billboard awards.

In Milan, visits ‘should’ have been referring to New Clothes.

    Cheers all

  9. Kelly, how fun! Thank you so much!

Love watching American Idol (and all these clips). And after Am. Idol, I watched the four Face Culture Interviews that I remember from 2011. Shades of Yesteryear! So fun to see!

Guess I’ll let someone else win June 7th concert tickets. After June 6th concert in Saratoga, we’ll have a family picnic celebrating my parents’ 60th anniversary. Can’t wait to hear who wins!

Catch you later next week, after my trip.
    Ciao!

  10. There is literally nothing that I can add. They were, are, and always be adorable, amazing, angelic, impossibly handsome, unbelievably talented, and just generally perfect. *dreamy sight*

  11. Kelly, I am surprised you didn’t figure out the stop in Milan–that is where they get their fabulous suits like the ones they wore at Assisi and those green ones they had–the ones that are made by a designer (I can’t remember his name) who works out of Milan–the fashion capitol of Italy!

  12. Kelly, you chose 3 of my VERY FAVORITE videos of The Boys. Weren’t they just about the cutest, most adorable teenagers you’ve ever seen? So happy, and just starting their journey to fame and stardom. I just loved their “concert’ in Central Park, especially when the Australian tourist said they were better than any concert in Carnegie Hall!

Thank you so much for giving all of us a chance to reminisce—– Such fond memories of yesteryear, and awesome times to come!
    Helen
