Hey Everyone!
Il Volo Comes Home–in Sicily
It was a busy week for the guys as they did a promotional tour through Sicily. While I am, of course, counting down the days until they are on our side of the world again, I can’t help but be excited for them that they are able to promote themselves and spend some time doing what they love in the country they love most.
Once Gianluca had finally packed his stuff, chatted with all the fans until the wee hours of the night and then was so sleepy that he fell asleep on the way to the airport the next morning (gotta love it! 😀 ), he safely joined his Il Volo brothers, and things got off to a pretty quick start.
First up, the Insemie TV show hosted by Salvo La Rosa.
I, unfortunately, was at work when this was taking place, and many of our readers were watching live (I’m a little bitter; I’m not gonna lie.), so I’m very thankful for Humildemente Ilvolover taking the time to share this on YouTube.
All About Il Volo has written a nice summary of the event that you can

Also, you can enjoy a short interview provided by Il Volo that aired on the Antenna Sicilia channel
and was translated by All About Il Volo here. —> http://www.ilvolo.mus.br/2014/05/il-volo-on-tg-la-sicilia/
Next up, Taormina, where they held a couple of press conferences and announced a 2nd concert date to be held on July 21st, as July 20th has already sold out! The guys seemed to each be in love with the city, Piero and Gianluca both tweeting several pictures of the beautiful scenery.

Naturally, The Guys have some very pointed and direct things to say about finally being able to come home to their people and have their families see them in concert and about how they want to be perceived and thought of. They have definitely come of age, and I love seeing them speak out as the men they have become. Maybe I’m a sap, but I think you will too. Thanks, once again, to All About Il Volo for the article.

And there was a final stop in Palmero for a Radio Interview on Doc Time.

And that was their whirlwind Tour of Sicily. Congrats to them for finally–truly–going home.
Ignazio Celebrates a Birthday by Playing Soccer

On May 21, Ignazio was back in Marsala celebrating the Birthday of Nino Barraco as a guest in a soccer match. I, for one, love it when I get to see celebrities do things they love outside of what they are known for, so I have enjoyed the pictures of this handsome soccer player very much. Maybe between our guys and Rafa (who is also a soccer nut), I’ll get into it after all. 😉
Head over to All About Il Volo for the full photo gallery and to see links of articles talking about the match.

Have a great holiday weekend if you’re celebrating Memorial Day–for those of us in the US.
~~ Kelly
Hi Kelly and Flight Crew Team!
We are glad you liked our reports and have made this beautiful article!
Thank you and a nice Sunday to you all !
Mari
Thank you for all your translations!
Thank you Kelly – I so need your recaps – as life has been unusually crazy for me since January 2014 and with work, family, projects – etc… I can’t always keep up – but you and of course, Linda, Marie and Elaine and all our bloggers have made that a little easier for me! Thanks again everyone! Michele
Glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
Many thanks to All About Il Volo for all the translations and thanks to the Flight Crew for the re-cap of the week!
Thanks Kelly for the posts. My grandson and I just happen to be staying at the Grand Hotel Timeo for the concert on the 20th.
Have a great weekend 🙂
Sounds wonderful! You’ll have to tell us all about it. 🙂
Thank you so much Kelly. I, too, have been busy this week and you put it all in a nutshell for me.
Loved the Insieme video. Thank you Humidemente Ilvolover. They sang my favorite song, “Un Amore Cosi Grande”! I don’t have a clue what they were saying, but I sure like the way they say it! Couldn’t help notice They’re still not breaking out anything new…waiting….
It seems Italy has finally awakened to their Beloved Sons! Good for
Our Guys! Secretly though, I would rather keep Them in my pocket and not share.
You know what else I noticed? They were having a great time!
Thanks Kelly, I enjoyed this. I especially enjoyed the interview about coming of age and being finally recognized in their own country. I’m with Marie though, would rather not share! 🙂
Linda, I’m with you and Marie. I would much rather not share, But at the same time, I am so darn proud of them for finally becoming known in their own country. And thank you, Kelly, for posting the Insemie TV Show. I have watched it twice so far, and will no doubt watch again. No, I couldn’t understand a word they said. But watching their smiles, Piero’s especially, ad seeing how relaxed and happy Our Guys were, not to mention how much fun they were having, makes me puff up with pride for them. Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca I can’t wait to see you in June – my first concert (and I certainly hope not my only one)!
Allene , I know that you’re a PIero fan. Mundial has 2 videos of Piero singing and playing the piano. He is singing a song I have not heard before and the other video is his grandpa singing Ave Maria and he accompanies him on the piano, just beautiful.
There are pictures of Gianluca and brother , beautiful kiddie pictures. [also on mundial]
Kelly, thanks for this recap.
It is 2 weeks before the concert here in LA, getting excited.
I agree, ladies. It’s a fine line: being happy for them and wanting to keep them in the US. If I could keep them right here in St. Louis, I wouldn’t mind a bit. 🙂
Thanks Victoria, can’t wait to bring up those videos of Piero and also his grandpa. You can definitely see where Piero got his voice!
Kelly, you have done a marvelous job on this article. I have printed out some of the interviews. and like you, I just love those pictures of our handsome soccer player! next stop I am thinking will be him getting his pilots license. knowing him, we can always expect surprises. I just love him.
Thanks. 🙂
Yes, a busy week for our beauties in their beautiful homeland. I’m overjoyed for them, but that doesn’t detract from my wanting their 2014 North American tour to begin. 🙂
