My name is Rosana. Some of you might remember me from the concert in Elgin on June 20. I am just writing to you to thank you so much for all that you have done this far! It was such a pleasure to meet most of you after the concert waiting for our boys to come out to say hi to some of their most dedicated fans!

The concert itself was mind blowing! I have never been so excited to see a concert. Waiting for the boys to come out afterwards was also a treat! Luck was definitely on my side that night. The concert was amazing, I was able to meet some of the most charming young men, and I was able to meet most of you! I thank you all so much for making my memories of that night even more special and for being so kind and open to my friend Emma and I. This was my first of many Il Volo concerts and I am happy to know that we will meet somewhere along the line again! Until then…best wishes to one of the most dedicated flight crews around!

With ilvolove,
Rosana

~~ We loved meeting you too, Rosana.  Thanks for your kind words, and please come back and comment more often.  🙂  You too, Emma and Debbie!

  1. Hi Rosana, So nice to read your wonderful post here. This is a special place filled with wonderful people…all brought together by three young Italian guys! Who would have ever thought it possible. I am so glad you were able to experience one of their awesome concerts. Hope to meet you someday at another concert!!

  2. One of you may remember me from a previous email in which I was expressing such concern about the inane behavior of some of the people whose accounts you have been featuring. As I said before, I am so afraid that this kind of fawning could entice our splendid young men into descending into the appalling depths of guys like Justin Bieber. With all the adults caring about them I do not believe it would, especially with sound advice from Placido Domingo and Barbra Streisand. I have heard their comments about this and I can be almost certain that their heads are screwed on too firmly. It must be embarrassing for them to submit to all the silly stuff, knowing that it is a fine line they walk, not to offend their fans.

The reason I am writing this letter is that this account hits just the right note. We all adore our Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca, their personalities and their rare talent but I feel that this gal allows her admiration to show wisely (and none of us forget that these guys, mature as they are, still are just very young men) without taking away from their dignity.

I have been a huge fan since they first sang together as a group but sadly, I will never be able to attend a live performance (as I have been lucky enough to be able to do with other amazing singers) but I still follow their careers with all the interest available to me and I want their futures to be filled with nothing but the success and admiration they so richly deserve..

    Very sincerely.

    Lesley Newall.

    1. Hi Lesley.
I feel very strongly that no matter how people choose to express their excitement and feelings toward the guys when they meet them, several things are and always will be true: 1.) they are amazing, wonderful and caring human beings–we all agree. :). 2.) Sometimes they are tired and are less animated than others, but for the most part, they appreciate enthusiastic fans and laugh with and are genuinely relaxed when interacting with them, and 3.) their lives will never be like Justin’s because of the reason’s you have mentioned. Have no fear of the guys being spoiled or embarrassed by us. 🙂

    2. Lesley, I remember your prior email. We did not print it because we felt it hurtful and negative.

I am sorry you don’t trust that we know how to treat Il Volo with respect and dignity in a manner we know their parents, management, and they themselves appreciate.

I agree they are young. I have personally observed them slapping each other on the rear, jumping on someone’s back, doing some ridiculous dancing, even trying to climb onto a 6 foot stage. You know, all the embarrassingly, “silly”, “inane” behaviors in which THEY participate. They relish that behavior back in kind.

I will be posting my review of 3 of the summer concerts soon. If you find fawning offensive you surely don’t want to read them!

Perhaps if you had the chance to see Il Volo live in concert and meet them afterwards you perception would be changed.

      My opinion only.

    3. Lesley, You certainly have a right to your opinion. I have found that in all aspects of life what some people find funny and entertaining others might find offensive. We desire to support and respect the vocal talents of Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca and give people that love them and their music a place to come together. We do not always all agree but we never ever intend to publish anything that is not positive. Please read our welcome and other older posts about this site. You can find that on the left side under Home, Introduction and our Welcome.

  3. Rosana, what a pleasure it was to meet you in Elgin! You and your lovely friend Emma certainly helped light up that night! How lucky were we to be in the right place at the right time to see the Guys up close. What a treat! Hope to see you again during another memorable evening.

  4. Hi Rosana, thanks for sharing your wonderful experience, I think it’s great to join in with other fans and I also appreciate all that the flight Crew do for us to make this possible. I was at the concert in Toronto and also went to the Meet and greet, hope I will be able to do it again and that they come back to Toronto, thanks again for sharing, it”s great to be a part of this group.

    1. Thanks Annie! I’m excited to be a part of it and I am so glad you liked my post! I hope you get to go to another concert, I hope I get to as well. I send you my best wishes!

  5. Rosana – It really was an unexpected event to meet Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca by the bus after the concert! For me, it was one of the highlights of our road trip! Meeting you, your family and friend, as well as so many other “Il Volo Flight Crew~Share The Love” contributors at the concerts was the icing on the cake! Thanks for your note and contributing to this site! I look forward to seeing you again at another Il Volo event soon! Michele (mfa or mfazzara)

  6. Marie very well said! I think all of us show our enthusiasm and love for Il Volo in different ways. I think the boys know that and respect that just like we respect them. They love all their screaming fans as well as the ones that just choose to sit there and not show much emotion. One of the reasons I love this site is I can express myself about how I feel about the boys even if it is a bit over the top.

  7. Thank you all so much for the feedback! I smile just by knowing you read and enjoy it! Please feel free to keep commenting! I would love to become acquainted with fellow il volo fans that “share the love” like I do 🙂

    1. Hey Rosana! It’s me… Emma! Hello Il Volo Flight Crew too! Let me just say molto grazie for posting this and making that night memorable. Meeting the boys was amazing, and I was so lucky to be invited by friend Rosana! Thanks girl!

Wow I could go on forever… But I don’t want to bore you. 😄

      Thanks with ilvolove,

Emma (from the pic up above) 😉

      1. Hey Emma! Thanks for the support! And I am so glad you had a fun time! Making plans for the next concert already! 🙂

  8. It would appear to me that this Crew has recruited a new member! Welcome aboard! I feel obliged to tell you that the one thing they might not have told you at the door is that there is no exit. Sorry. You’re stuck here! 😉

  9. Hello to Rosana and Emma! Beautiful names! I like your photo and account of your concert experience. The first of many more, I’m sure! Welcome.

  10. Thanks x infinity! I cannot thank you guys enough for being so welcoming! We will be sticking around for a while! As Isabel said, we are stuck here! I don’t know of any other occasion where I would be able to say this but: WE ARE SO HAPPY TO BE STUCK HERE! 😉
