Oh who am I kidding? Calvin was no babe; he was a bad little boy. LOL. But we loved him anyway for his prolific imagination….even as we hugged his parents in support and sympathy.
Calvin got it right this time, though. A new year is a blank sheet of paper with a brand new crayon in your hand.
What are you going to draw on your paper?
I was thinking about this as I was driving home from work this afternoon. I saw all these people running around, talking on their cell phone, making plans to say, “out with the old and in with the new,” and I wondered…what are they planning for the new year?
Are they wondering how they are going to rebuild from all the flooding in the area? Are they wondering if that test their doctor just ran is going to bring the bad news they’re too afraid to give a real thought to? Are they planning a wedding? Having a baby? Embarking on the ride and adventure of their lives?
Are they looking at their new year in hope? Ringing in the year with the smiles that have graced their faces recently? Kinda like these amazing guys?
It used to be hard to imagine how they could possibly be better than they were before. But after this year, while I can’t wrap my head all the way around it, I know they can and they will. Truly they can go as far and as high as they want to go.
And so can you. Go out and have your fun tonight; ring in the new year. And in the morning, pull out a blank piece of paper and your favorite crayon.
The year is yours!

Hi Kelly what beautiful words about our guys and oh so true I know last year was so amazing for them they really went into orbit and I don’t think they are coming down in 2016. I think they know themselves so well and what they want to do now that even more great things are in store for them and also for us Il Volo lovers everywhere. I wish all the Flight Crew Board Members a great New Years Eve and may this be all your best year yet.

II loved Calvin & Hobbes and was upset when they no longer graced my newspaper’s pages. I worry about the boys like I worry about my family and wish for a gentle 2016 for all.
New Year’s Reflections
Looking back on the months gone by,
As a new year starts and an old one ends,
We contemplate what brought us joy,
And we think of our loved ones and our friends.
Recalling all the happy times,
Remembering how they enriched our lives,
We reflect upon who really counts,
As the fresh and bright new year arrives.
And when I ponder those who do,
I immediately think of you.

2015 was not a bad year for me but neither was it great and really that is okay. The bad news was the deaths of two friends of mine, Michael and Lochie. Michael I expected for some time, Lochie went too soon. May they rest in peace.
I am hopeful for 2016, especially come March when I travel to San Diego after all you crazies have had your mitts on our guys in Las Vegas, I will get to show them the wonder of a calm and intelligent pir- uh, person! I am looking forward to seeing Mr.Smooth, Mr. Dimples and the one and only ThunderBarone in concert and at the M&G.
But I tell you all truly that I am praying for their health and safety as I also pray for all yours too in the upcoming winter months. May we ALL arrive at our concerts in all whole health and happiness with no travails and misadventures!!! All the planes, trains and automobiles ( and tour buses) will be most excellent and arrive in sound condition.
Believe and make it so! AMEN! Happy New Year!

For Il Volo 2015 was the best year of their life… Hmmm, sounds like it could a title for a song…For me, it was filled with challenges… The good news, with the grace of God, we made it through them all and have a better 2016 to look forward to…
I am excited because Il Volo is coming to a theater near you… So many concert halls and our guys will show us the best day of our lives… Hmmm, that phrase is stuck in my mind, I wonder why? We are all making plans to meet members of our Il Volo family at what ever concert we are going to attend… This is the best part of Il Volo, how they bring us together with their music, and their love for their fans… It rubs off on all of us… The are succeeding in spreading love around the world… The Flight Crew Blog is proof of that…
I will be going to four concerts this year… Detroit Fox Theater, Las Vegas Pearl theater, Hollywood Dolby theater and Pachenga hotel and casino… I want to meet as man of our Flight Crew Family as I can… So please if you are going to any of these concerts let me know or look for me when you get to one of these venues…
