Brilliant Jane! All three pictorials have been wonderful! Thank you so much. Some of these pictures I’ve never seen, but will keep. I especially love the one where he raises his fists during his aria. What pure strength and power!
How dare someone his age sing opera and sing it so beautifully! Unheard of! This is an amazing guy! So smart. So talented. Sooo handsome! During a concert I watch him look around as he tries to acknowledge every single person seated in front of him with love and pride in his eyes. Then, like in the picture above, he opens up his arms and embraces the entire audience. How lucky am I to have been a recipient so many times?
When I smile at Piero and he smiles back, I can see that look of recognition cross his face and It floors me.. Just floors me!
Jane, your series on the boys growing up is marvelous.
Great job!! Seeing the changes as they grow just endears them all the more. They are so real–nothing artificial about them. “Mighty oak trees from little acorns grow.”

Jane, Your post about Piero struck a chord in my heart. Piero has been mine from the start. Nothing about any of them is false. That alone is unique today. Loved seeing him in all the photos. At the fan faire he blew a kiss to me as he was leaving. I will forever hold it in my soul. Joanie G
Oh Jane, these three pictorials have just been superb! I was eagerly awaiting the one on Piero and you did not disappoint me one bit. Just as Joan said before me, Piero has had my heart from the start. I really fell for that spikey hair , red glasses and HUGE voice and that was just for starters. Personality-wise he is a delight, so caring to all his fans with a special delight for the babies and children, could there be any doubt that he will be a fantastic father? When I met him in 2014 ( let me just savor that phrase ” when I met him”….) Oh my… anyway I remember as he hugged me he murmured in my ear ” soo sweet”. In short he makes this tough rascally pirate want to swoon!!!
Oh and here is something I have been wanting to say… any of you ever notice how many t-shirts this man owns? Ever notice the photos that have him out shopping? When he lost his luggage I couldn’t help but think it wasn’t as big a hardship as it looked. HE LOVES TO SHOP! What woman could resist that in a man?
In short, I am a Piero girl ( age 62 and still a girl at heart) Thanks Jane!
Jane, how can I say it? Your ” GRANDE AMORE X 3 is perfect!! I was so dumb struck the one time I met them, wish I’d have a second chance ! Thanks for this 3 part love story! ♡♡♡
Dorothy, I love that…3 part love story…I didn’t look at it that way, but sure do see it now. There are sooooo many amazing photos of them out there it was very difficult to narrow it down to so few.
Pirate…yes, a man who LOVES TO SHOP!! One more enticing tidbit about this amazing young man!
REmember when the guys were doing those” home movie” videos during Eurovison and some of their travels? I remember the one they told us about Piero having lost his luggage. One of them, I think Ignazio, remarked ” Now he HAS to shop every day!” Piero did not look in the least bit sad about shopping!

Jane, the pictures of him at the end of his Tosca aria…whose is that? I’ve been looking for it for days! 😀
Thank you Jane for the posts and pictures on our favorite three singers. I love the picture of Piero near the end of his solos where he has his hands in fists while giving his all and then when he finishes, with his arms outstretched and such a lovely grateful smile on his face. And I don’t think anyone can get the height he does from a standing position at the end of the concerts. Piero is a real leader and take charge person, and is never at a loss for what to say especially when they are promoting their concerts, cd’s etc. It is lovely to see how close and affectionate he is with his family as are Gianluca and Ignazio, and he just loves little children and never hesitates to pick them up.
Thank you so much for these three Growing Up posts !! I have been watching them grow up for over five years now and I have loved every single minute of it !! All three are unique in their own way but all three are the same when it comes to having magnificent voices,adoring fans.big hearts and loving families !! I will follow their Extaordinary Adventure until the end of time !! And I must say that Piero’s powerful voice takes my breath away !! I told him so and he smiled from ear to ear then I got a big hug and kissed in both cheeks !! He us so sweet and lovable !!!

I have one question for The Flight Crew I’m becoming concerned because there is always photos of Ignazio’s and Gianluca’s Moms but I never see Piero’s Mom. Is her health okay? Does anyone know why she doesn’t travel with the guys?
As far as I know, she just doesn’t like to fly. The Taormina 2014 concert was the first time she saw Piero in concert. And if you haven’t seen that concert, it is one of the best! Look for it on youtube.
It may be to stay with Piero’s
younger sister and the grandfather.
This is just a thought as they are
very family oriented.

Good point Gale! I have heard that she does not like to fly but yes, there is Mariagrazia who is still in school and elderly grandparents to think of too. Just the same I wish she could travel with them…and take along Mariagrazia who I bet would be THRILLED to tag along with her famous big brother! I’m sure he would be delighted as well.

Penina and Gale are both correct. I have read that Piero’s mama does not travel with them for both those reason’s. I believe that the Taormina concert that was mentioned, was where Piero was sitting on the stage, with his mama standing in front of him, and he was singing the song “Mama” to her. When there was a break in the song, she was kissing his face( so sweet). I would expect that last summer when the guy’s were touring Italy( was it last summer?) that maybe she and the family might have driven to a few concert’s. There is a ferry not to far from them that goes from Sicily to Italy. I had seen Piero and Ignazio driving to one of their concert dates, and of course Ercole and his family also drove.
There is a bridge that is being built from Sicily to Italy(1.9 miles) across the water, so that will make it even easier for those who do not like to drive.
Thank you all who responded to my question about Piero’s mother. I feel badly she doesn’t like to fly and it does make sense for her to stay at home with Piero’s sister and grandparents. Still I would hope that she does get to see her very special son work his magic at Il Volo’s concerts . No need to fear soaring to the heights listening to Piero’s beautiful voice.
