Who I Am ~ Gina

Life constantly adds new experiences in our life. We feel, act and reject things that come into our lives. Everything adds to our collection of “Who I am”.

“This question – asked so often – suggests that there is actually a plausible answer. Almost as if our being were a fixed thing.
Our identity should be seen as an ongoing process. Rather than a static snapshot, we should embrace a flowing sense of self, whereby we are perpetually re-framing, re-organizing, re-thinking and re-considering ourselves. How different would life be if rather than asking who am I, we contemplated how we’d like to engage life?”

I KNOW THAT MY EXPERIENCES WITH IL VOLO AND THE FLIGHT CREW HAVE ADDED ANOTHER CHAPTER TO “WHO I AM”

“Who am I, you ask?

I am made from all the people

I’ve encountered and all the

 things I have experienced.

Inside, I hold the laughter of my friends,

The arguments with my parents,

The chattering of young children,

And the warmth from kind strangers.

Inside, there are stitching from cracked hearts,

Bitter words from heated arguments,

Music that gets me through,

And emotions I cannot convey.

I am made from

All these people and moments,

That is who I am.”

  1. Loretta, Il Volo is on vacation now. Gianluca is at home in Montepagano. There was another earthquake in Italy today, in the same area as last year’s. Those poor people had a bi.g snowstorm a couple of day’s before the earthquake hit them.
Piero is in Sicily with his family, and Ignazio was last seen at the airport in Bologna, and has’nt been seen since. You would’nt be hiding him at your place would you Loretta?

    1. Jill if we could arrange life the way we want to I would go back to 22 yeara of age again & make sure or at least try my best to wim the affectioms of Ignazio in a heart beat & that’s wishful thinking that will never happen

  2. You are all well informed, all true. Sure Gianluca has a very tough situation, has strong snowed, were left without electricity and today there were strong earthquakes. It’s a terrible situation for those who are in the places already devastated this summer.

      1. Marie, do not you wanted to say, but Ignazio came to greet me going to go skiing. Do not you believe it? Look what you’ve seen from the video he was in Madonna di Campiglio, a beautiful town in the province of Trento, close enought to Brescia, 90 miles.

      2. They are really snowed under–looks like Canada! And here it’s been raining! not snowing!

  3. Glad to know they are finally on vacation. If I had known I would have met him wherever he is. Surprised Allesandra isn’t with him. Oh well there is always a next time. Thanks Daniela I wonder where he is going now maybe I could still meet him. Hmmmm.

  4. So sad to hear about more earth quakes in Italy. Are they a bit closer to Gianluca?. I hope not. Prayers being sent to where the quakes are.

  5. A very good post Gina. My prayers to for all those suffering in Italy. They have gone through so much since the earthquakes in August, then October and earlier today, and all in the same general area. The severe winter storm has made it much more difficult to help those in need. I can’t even imagine how worried these people must be that more will follow.

  6. I just watched a live stream from an Italian news show called MeteoWeb. The police and fire department are working in horrible conditions trying to get to the Hotel Rigopiano in Abruzzo that was damaged, to help rescue guests and employees. The road has been cleared somewhat but there is only one direction to go. The snow is above car height with minimum room on either side so they can’t turn around. Pray for these brave rescue workers. Daniella please correct me if I am wrong. I don’t speak Italian I just watched the stream. Hope Gianluca and his family are safe, along with the rest of Abruzzo.

    1. Unfortunately Rose all you have described is true. Gianluca is enduring this situation as well as all people living in those areas.
He clearly heard all the shock following in his tweet saying that there was only fear.
Rescuers have reached the hotel after 6 hours because the avalanche had swept away roads and downed trees, were able to reach the hotel by the rescue of skiing.
We hope that the situation improves today

      1. Daniella
May God bless the rescue workers. Are there survivors? Gianluca said he friend Roberto is the owner of the hotel, but he has not heard anything about him.
