During the beautiful presentation event of the D&G feature in Taormina, Il Volo sang a beautiful Sicilian song – “E VUI DURMITI ANCORA”.
It is a beautiful Sicilian poem written by Giovanni Formisano in 1910.The beauty of the text greatly affected Gaetano Emanuel Calì, to the point that in the duration of the trip from Malta, (one night), he composed the score to go with it.
Thanks to my friend Katerina Tsaousi, who published the text and the video, I thought of repeating these beautiful words, in the original text and below with the translation made by the Sicilian friend Rita Spera.

The words of this Sicilian song are really beautiful.
This song was often used by young Sicilian males to serenade their girlfriends, who listened to them from the window or from the balcony … how romantic.
Poor Gianluca who had to sing in a really difficult dialect.
But Il Volo has made a really good interpretation ….. of course they can, they are Il Volo !!

Joanne, the pins on the tuxedo, are Dolce & Gabbana jewels, they are a particolar touch, on a very serious suit, but in the case of the boys I noticed that the pins were different, in fact, each has a different stone top:
Gianluca = Red (ruby)
Piero = Green (emerald)
Ignazio = colorless (diamond) but I think he wanted to indicate white, therefore the colors of the Italian flag, of course this is my interpretation.

Gianluca is very gifted in learning new languages, his Spanish is excellent, so it doesn’t surprise me with that he was able to learn that song, kudos to all three

First I want to say the guys always look great, but in those new tuxedos with the lapel pins, the look was really spectacular. They never looked better. And this song is so lovely. Italians seem to be so romantic and

This presentation you have given us is so beautiful and moving. That our Il Volo can sing in the Bel Canto style, look and act life so regal just continues the journey they have set out on to bring Italy and Italian (including Sicilian) culture to the world. They are rare jewels.

Ignazio and Piero sang this song with a folk band in one of their Taormina concerts. I loved it then and now.

They looked and sounded spectacular, well rested and quite tan. They are all wonderful with languages and Gianluca is very gifted. I did notice in the video his smile while singing and Piero smiling at him also.
Margaret, yes, in 2014 they sang it with a Sicilian folk group and gave it a less sentimental interpretation.
I too noticed the look of Piero that encouraged Gian and if you notice well, Gian can’t say a word well (affriddateddi), but we forgive him, right?
