IL VOLO TOUR: BOSTON by Daniela

September 20

A lovely evening in Boston’s magnificent Wang Theater.
Il Volo, dressed in blue suits right from the start, delighted everyone present.
At the concert there were Mary and Mark Minton, here’s what they wrote to me:
“Hi Daniela, the concert in Boston was great! We met John from Connecticut there. It was great to see him again. The guys were in black for the whole concert and they looked very handsome. I was in the third row in the lane and Piero gave me a ‘fist bump’ when he walked around singing HERE’S TO YOU.
They sang all the same Mohegan Sun songs on Saturday. (Mary and Mark were also at the Mohegan Sun) The meet and greet was very busy and we only had a few seconds with the guys to take a photo. I’m sorry the concerts are over for us for now.”
(Mary and Mark also saw two concerts in Taormina this year.)
“We will have to plan another trip to Italy next year to see them again!”
What about Mary, you and Mark were very lucky, you have seen two concerts in Italy and two in the U.S. you also did the M&G, and Piero fist bumped you as he passed and sang. All beautiful !!
Thanks Mary also for the beautiful photos !!
I’m also glad you saw John.
John, when you want, write us again about Il Volo !! 😃
And now let’s enjoy some videos, this time everything should work !!

A few more photos …… never enough !!

Another good concert has ended and from the reviews I read on Ticketmaster, everyone is happy to have attended a concert where the voices are unquestionably beautiful. Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca are friendly and nice, as well as beautiful. The lineup of songs is excellent and everything takes place in a very familiar atmosphere.
Even the Italian press is realizing that the tour is continuing its run, grinding praise and successes.
I want to end with a comment taken from Ticketmaster.
“I have never been to such a WONDERFUL concert !!!!! All three of these artists are so talented it takes your breath away!! The venue was great and ‘they demolished the house’. I would see them again in a heartbeat!”
They are IL VOLO: Daniela 🤗

  1. Great pictures, videos and comments. These young men attack all of our senses, they make us laugh, cry, and feel as if we are a part of their family. Bravo to Il Volo. I’m heading to NYC for another great concert and hoping for a sold out theater. A reminder: It’s almost Ignazio’s birthday on Oct. 4th.

    1. RoseMarie, I too hope for a sold out concert, but I don’t think it will be so unfortunately, but it does not matter, we are not yet at pre-covid levels of life, and we hope not to go back!
You’re right, October 4th is imminent and Jana has already activated for it.

      1. Daniela, how does one send birthday wishes to the birthday boy? I missed Piero’s birthday as I was in hospital awaiting a Pacemaker which solved my short of breath symptoms. I’d love to send personal greetings. Is it too late? I just realized today is already half way through September.

  2. Thanks for the videos. I’m trying not to watch too much from this concert because I’m going to Ruth Eckerd Center in Clearwater on October 7 and I want to be surprised. Looking forward to the sound check I’m gonna get there early to see the bus pull in! 70 year old groupie and proud of it❤️❤️❤️

    1. You’re right Ruth, don’t spoil the surprise too much, but know that with them, everything can also be different, it depends on the reaction of the audience.

  3. Rose Marie, I’ll be at RCMH on Tuesday as well! It’s my first concert and I cannot wait. Maybe I’ll see you there!
Danieia once again thank you for keeping us informed of everything our guys do! They are so exceptional and wonderful! Grazie Mille🥰🥹❤️❤️❤️

    1. Thanks for the compliments, Carol, and it would be great if you and RoseMarie meet, actually there are several people from Flight Crew at that concert. Your first concert will be memorable !!

  4. What EVER did Ignazio say to Piero to crack him up so much he couldn’t continue singing “O Sole Mio”! Piero, always so professional and composed during Ignazio’s pranks; even Gianluca wanted to what was going on. Such a delight and I can’t wait to see them soon for the first time.

Thank you, always, Daniela for giving us the scoop!

    1. Color du jour, actually Piero was not angry, he couldn’t sing because he was laughing and if you want I’ll explain why, which I think I understand.

Ignazio was in the audience and Piero offers him a hand to get back on stage. Just at that moment when both are very close, Piero has to make the high note and, if you look closely, Ignazio squeezes hand tightly, down … this is because it was said that by squeezing the testicles, the vocal note would come taller …….. Piero understood the gesture and couldn’t help but laugh.Gianluca did not see the scene, covered by Piero and goes to Ignazio to understand, but Ignazio and Piero don’t stop laughing !! Ignazio is really a nice rascal !!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

    2. I heard it was something to do with Ignazio’s zipper being down. They cracked each other up.

  5. It’s such a treat to be able to see parts of all these concerts through the eyes of the photo and video contributors, assembled so beautifully by Daniela and Pat. Plus I loved the Ticketmaster comment, Daniela. And darned if Ignazio didn’t break up Piero (and himself!) again during O Sole Mio–good thing there’s Gian to pick up the pieces!

  6. O yes, wasn’t it grand? The hysteria on stage left from orch center was the result of Ignazio’s zipper problem! Notice how he sashes to the piano and then gets Grani laughing. Everybody happy?

    1. Thanks, Boston girl, I had a suspicion that might be it. Guess that jump back up to the stage did it. Well, it’s always great fun watching them have so much fun!

  7. Once again Daniela and Pat for keeping us updated on the concerts “over there”. So happy that the boys are sucessful and people love them. I can never get enough photos and videos, so please let them roll in :-).
Love and greetings fromKirsten, Copenhagen, Denmark

    1. Thank you for all the information & lovely pics of the boys – I have gammy legs & can not walk properly so really appreciate all the reports on what the boys are up to – these young men have beautiful souls – one can not help but love them – I am living in Queensland Australia – New Zealand is my home country – thank you once again Daniela for all your hard work much appreciated.

    2. That’s right Kirsten, we can’t get enough of them, and everything we discover, we love it !! Greetings from Italy that you will see again in a few months !!

  8. Thank you Daniela and Pat, and all who contributed to this excellent post. Seeing this brought back wonderful memories of this absolutely excellent concert! The Wang is a great place to see them. I would make the trip and see them there again. Yes, Jude, these young men have beautiful souls; and so many people fall in love with them. 🎼❣️

  9. Beautiful pictures. I love watching the videos from all the different venues. Every concert is amazing. I love how Ignazio gets the other guys laughing. He’s always up to something.

      1. No, but I wish I had been. It looks like a beautiful concert hall. Four more days til I see the guys again in Bethlehem, PA.

  10. IMO, there are not enough words to describe IL Volo guys. Awesome, talented, is what I hear and see in them. I think they are the best of the best. I’m so glad I got to see them. Thank you for your songs and coming to America. My wish is to see you one more time. Hugs to “my guys” somethin about my guys that sends me to the moon. <3

  11. I just love your comments, pictures and videos of the concerts. I’ve been to two already and will be in Phoenix for the third. Can’t get enough of them and their music. No matter how much they goof around on stage, they never mess up a song, lots of fun, but very professional when it comes to the music.

    1. Maija, you said well, because no matter how much they laugh or joke, when there is a need to show their commitment to singing, they do it and the results are excellent.
Soon they also arrive in Phoenix !!

  12. From a very small town in west Tennesee I thank you for your review and wonderful photos! Next Sunday in Atlanta I will be seeing Il Volo from the front row for the very first time! I’m 82years old but I still love good music and handsome men!! I hope they will sing some of the wonderful songs in your videos!!!!

    1. And I answer you from a small town near Brescia, in Italy, and I tell you that you will see all the songs you have seen in the videos. The first concert is always unforgettable and you wish it would never end !! Age does not matter!

  13. Funny moments in Boston. Piero is always very professional but Ignazio can always derail him. I think he delights in doing it!

Many thanks for more great pictures and videos that I can watch! Yeah!

  14. I have been a longtime fan of this very talented, youthful Italian trio. Their voices are simply phenomenal, both as soloists and combined. This particular concert included a moving tribute to Maestro Ennio Morricone, who passed in 2021, along with a well balanced mix of popular Italian classics, a few old American hits, and a couple of famous operatic arias by Verdi and Puccini, as well as an outstanding rendition of “Granada” in perfectly vocalized Spanish. Their solos and the “shifting duets ” segments, in which only two of the members sung together, while the third stayed aside, gave each of the singers a chance to showcase his voice and his range at its best. Their stage presence is always captivating and their frequent displays of humor also added to the show, keeping the audience engaged and thrilled throughout the whole two hours. And their encore song “Grande Amore”, winner of the San Remo Festival, was the PERFECT ending! As an added bonus, Ignazio’s gave me his hand while the three of them were singing “Here’s to you” and walking around the audience!!! So…here’s to you, Ignazio! Happy upcoming Birthday!

  15. Wow!!! What a gorgeous venue that is in Boston!! The picture showing Gianluca with the balconies in the background is just breathtaking. Wish we had something like that up here in my part of Canada!!! Dolores
