Let’s summarize a little the latest events.
As we all know, June 24th was Piero’s birthday, which he celebrated with friends in Sicily, at first light on the 24th.
Click the link below:

Soon after, Piero joined Ignazio and Gianluca in Macerata for a private event/concert.
Of this event, unlike other private events, there are several mini videos, here they are.

Once the event/concert has been archived, there is still room for Piero’s celebrations, this time an intimate dinner with Ignazio, Gianluca and Torpedine.
………….and more celebrations on the beach with other friends……
We arrived in July and great news comes after a long wait, Il Volo will be in concert in September for the first time in GREECE!!!! ☺
What wonderful news, our Greek friends have been waiting for this news for a long time and it is finally here!!❤
By the way, do you remember that Il Volo is supposed to give a free concert in Ascoli Piceno on July 21st?
Things are not that simple, I translated this article, published by IL CORRIERE DELL’ADRIATICO, that explains everything!

Click here for IL CORRIERE DELL’ADRIATICO article

ASCOLI PICENO – The mystery linked to the reservations for the concert of the “Il Volo” trio, which will be held on July 21 in Piazza del Popolo, continues to hold thousands and thousands of fans in suspense. The event, made official by the mayor Marco Fioravanti and by the managers – the entrepreneurs Roberta Faraotti and Stefano Panichi – was announced as a city festival, with free admission reserved for the local population, to be collected at the box office in Piazza del Popolo. A gift to the city to celebrate 30 years of activity of Fainplast.
The stop
But the reservation scheduled for June 20 was suspended by the public order committee for safety. Danger of night camps and impossibility to check the origin of the ticket applicants. Requests have in fact arrived from Belgium, Germany, even Americans for the show by Gianluca Ginoble, Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto. The three artists do not currently have an Italian tour, it is understandable why a free entrance to Ascoli is tempting for everyone, even for those who live in Sondrio or Syracuse.

In the photo, Battista Faraotti, owner of Fainplast and promoter of the free event in Ascoli Piceno with Il Volo!

What can I say, the free concert is a wonderful idea, but it’s not as easy as it seems, I’ll keep you updated on developments.
But that’s not all, today 5 July, the Canale 5 schedule for the 2023/2024 season was announced, and Il Volo will have three events in prime time.
The new schedule was announced during an evening and introduced by Pier Silvio Berlusconi who is manager and director of the Mediaset Group, of which Canale 5 is the flagship television network.
He is the son of Silvio Berlusconi, founder of Mediaset and entrepreneur who then had important roles in Italian politics until he became Prime Minister. Silvio Berlusconi passed away about a month ago.
Pier Silvio Berlusconi has been romantically linked for 21 years (they are not married) to Silvia Toffanin, whom you know because she is the kind entertainer of Verissimo.
During the evening Il Volo performed three songs: My Way, Hallelujah and Grande Amore.
Eventually they reached Pier Silvio Berlusconi who said very nice words for them. Click below to view the video.

After the presentation of Il Volo, My Way begins immediately.
PIERO= For us it is truly an honor to be here tonight, we are delighted to continue this journey together. It has been a special year for us, the two evenings ALL FOR ONE and CHRISTMAS IN JERUSALEM, a great alchemy has really been created, a great harmony as a working group and we can’t wait to do great things together next year. (Pier Silvio Berlusconi framed, thanks and sends them a kiss)
GIANLUCA= Thanks so much for everything, for allowing us to spread our music and our essence as artists and as people, which is not obvious and thanks for the affection.
The next one is a very special song, because to sing, as an art form, somehow allows you to convey emotions, to make something abstract tangible, like a feeling or an emotion. The next song represents all of this and is one of the most famous songs in the history of music and in this particular moment for you, for your big family, we want to dedicate it to all of you.
Hallelujah begins.
IGNAZIO= We wanted to sing this next song, which is our song: Grande Amore.
GERRY SCOTTI= (good and well-known Italian presenter) It’s a real pleasure, your patience has been great because you waited in the back and you were the big surprise of this evening, but I tell you what, it’s an evening dedicated not only to work , at the company, is an evening, as you will have understood, dedicated to feelings and love, and this last song of yours was the crown of everything we talked about this evening. (he refers to the recent mourning of the Berlusconi family).

IL VOLO= Thank you, thank you very much.
(Piero gets off the stage and goes towards Pier Silvio Berlusconi).
IGNAZIO= Well, we’ll see each other soon.
GERRY SCOTTI= I think so.
IGNAZIO= We’ll be able to do something together, we’ve never done it.
GERRY SCOTTI= That would be the case.
(meanwhile Gianluca also goes to Pier Silvio, warm hugs with Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio)
You were announced at the press conference, so….. Pier Silvio, do you want to say something to these guys ?
PIER SILVIO= Guys, I thank you again, all of you because you fill me up and warm my heart. They, in addition to being very good and full of energy, they are fantastic, I thank you for being here. They stir up unique emotions in me, because on the two Saturdays that aired (All for one concert), my dad called me both times and said: “But how good these guys are, but how exciting they are, please, keep them close.”
So, I know he called you too.
GIANLUCA= Yes, and it is also for him that we are here this evening.
PIER SILVIO= Thank you, you gave me a wonderful gift, I thank you. (kisses and hugs)
But that’s not all, yesterday evening July 7, as promised, Il Volo was a guest during the concert of POOH, the band that had played with them during ALL FOR ONE. The concert takes place in the Milano sold out stadium. It was Il Volo’s first time in a stadium.
Here are our young men in rehearsal.
In the backstage, after the rehearsals, Il Volo was interviewed.
SPEAKER= Il Volo for a great POOH concert/event, where you are the protagonists with them.
It’s your first performance at San Siro (stadium name).
PIERO= We want to say, a promise kept, because they came as guests to our show in Verona and there was this invitation live and we kept our promise, you can’t give up … first you can’t give up the POOH and then you can’t give up a performance at San Siro.
GIANLUCA= Furthermore, I believe that young people should have a certain openness of mind, like studying history at school, they should learn to appreciate the music of every era. They have marked more than an era, they are the greatest (Italian) band of all time, reaching 50 years of career is the dream of many artists. I have always followed them thanks to my father. ALOHA is my favorite record, but also the record in English HURRICANE where they really looked like an international band from all points of view, so for me it’s a great honor, for all of us it’s an honor to share the stage again with such a great band .
IGNAZIO= An anecdote: to me personally he binds a guitar of Dodi (the guitarist of the Pooh) that our manager gave me. I have Dodi’s guitar at home.
PIERO= But is there Dodi’s signature?
IGNAZIO= Of course there is his signature.
Well POOH has been an inspiration for everyone, from the early years of their debut to our generation and the one to come. Symbol of unity, music is one of the strongest things in the world and they have demonstrated it and as Gianluca said we are happy to be here and to share the stage with them today.
PIERO= This evening we will sing UOMINI SOLI, because it is our favorite song, we have expressly asked to sing it together and we can’t wait to share that moment with their audience who are thrilled to see them on stage.
SPEAKER= There is a lot of professional esteem between you (Pooh and Volo), but also a lot of affection, I know you love each other very much, they love you very much.
GIANLUCA= Yes, because beyond the artistic professional esteem, everything starts from a great personal esteem, this is the most important thing, the affection that is shared with these great artists, we share the same passion, we have different ages, but we know that music keeps you young, you must never lose the childish part that probably allows you to bring out all your creativity and energy.
SPEAKER= Your audience is an international audience that has been following you for many years because even if you are young you started early, and the POOH audience follows you, loves you, surely you have values together, not only musical but also human.
PIERO= We grew up with healthy values and principles transmitted by our families, I see and perceive that it is something we have in common with POOH but above all also with the public, which is a human and above all faithful public, which has always followed these great artists and we also live it with our audience, because next year we celebrate 15 years of career and for an artist, for a singer, I think it’s the most beautiful reality to have in front of a faithful audience that saw you born, he followed you and never abandoned you.
SPEAKER=FRIENDS FOREVER (it’s the title of a Pooh song) it’s not only a very famous song by the Pooh, and also the name of this tour, it’s also their life motto which I think you follow very well. What does friends forever mean to you?
GIANLUCA= It’s like a marriage, if there is no serenity, if there is no respect, as well as friendship, any relationship fades over time, it crumbles, this is a great teaching from them for us, we take them for example. And we too, in addition to being colleagues, must be friends forever.
PIERO= There’s only one thing I don’t agree with: why did you give Ignazio Dodi’s guitar and only the shirt belongs to me???  😁😁😁
And now during the concert, only one song, all together: UOMINI SOLI, with this song the Pooh won Sanremo in 1990.

POOH and IL VOLO sing UOMINI SOLI – Click Here

And today, the Poohs posted this short video and these words:
I would say that it has been a month full of news and all very beautiful.
I am very happy with the work project with Canale 5, I have no doubt that it will be three splendid evenings and they have also concluded an agreement on a special for Christmas 2024.
The words expressed for Il Volo by Pier Silvio Berlusconi are truly beautiful.
The interpretation of the song together with POOH is magical, and it will soon be repeated in the stadium of Rome on July 15th.
In short, many positive events and more to come, Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio never cease to amaze us.
See you soon: Daniela 🤗

  1. Excellent! Another quality message that brings us up to date and the translation shared the beautiful, emotional words that were so important! Our guys are recognized for not only magnificent voices but as the quality people that they are! 15th year anniversary coming up!!! 🌟❤️🌟❤️🌟❤️
    Grazie, Grazie!

    1. Thank you Judy, it’s nice to see and hear words of great esteem for our boys, on an artistic and human level, it fills our hearts.

  2. I watched the their performances. We’re magical. They just get better and better. Can’t wait to one day I hope see them in Italy. And again here I. The US❤️❤️❤️🇮🇹🎶🎶🎶🎶👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🥇 .they are Three angelic voices One soul

  3. Many thanks for all your efforts as usual Daniela, you too Pat, very much appreciated. 🙂

Sadly the first video was unavailable, but no matter, everything else is. I especially like the video with Pooh. Now I am intrigued as to what the name means in Italian.

    1. Roz actually has no meaning in Italian, the Pooh have always said that they took their name from “Winnie the Pooh”, who you will know very well.

      1. Many thanks Daniela. That explains everything. 🙂 Yes, who could not know Winnie the Pooh and his friends. One of our previous kitties was called Tigger, mainly because she was full of bounce! I think my favourite was Roo. 🙂

    2. Glad to see you’re back, Roz! Thought we had lost you when you didn’t comment on Susan’s article about Piero, “On the threshold of his dream”. Hugs, Dol.

      1. I kept meaning to, but life keeps getting in the way, namely Barnsley Football Club! Now whose stupid idea was it to do this diamond painting thing? Next time I have an idea like that, will someone Please surgically remove me from my debit card!!! 😉

  4. Wish I could have been in Italy or Europe to see them. It’s not enough to hear them,ou must see them, they get more wonderful. Do you have any idea when they will be in the USA agin. God Bless them.

    1. At the moment, Mona, there is no plan yet for the U.S. , but they will certainly come next year.

      1. Roz, there must be demand or interest from people, I assure you that the Greek fans have been waiting for a long time. Il Volo has already been to the UK, but not to Greece.

  5. Again, thanks to Pat, Daniela and everyone behind the scenes. I have followed this blog for 12 years, and it has never been better. It warms my heart to know that our young men finally have been shown the respect they so long deserved. I am so excited that they are going to Greece. The Greek fans have waited a very long time for them to perform live for them. And, in one of the most famous ancient amphitheaters in the world, The Odeon of Herodus Atticus at the base of the Acropolis. According to Ignazio it was not easy to get permission to perform there and took awhile. I will be in the front row! I will wear my Flight Crew badge.

    1. RosaMarie, I was over the moon when I read the mail confirming the date in Greece and I immediately looked for you to tell you immediately, I am so happy for all the friends in Greece and yes, I immediately went to see where they will perform and it will certainly be amazing , a wonderful place full of glory and history, wonderful !! You will have to give a sensational report!!

    2. You’re welcome Rose Marie! 😊 And thanks for the compliments. It means a lot! 💓

  6. Thanks again Daniela and Pat. I was so impressed with Pooh and when I heard their ages 71 thru 79 they are amazing and so will our guys be at that age, wish I was going to be around that long. Still hoping to hear they will be returning to the states in 2024 Can’t wait to see them again live. Also it is early but looking forward to their Christmas show and all their other events.

    1. That’s right Beverly, Pooh’s age is between 71-79, and they’re super fit, they’ve always been at their peak, sadly their drummer passed away in 2020. I was a fan of them when I was a little girl and my husband’s first gift (at the beginning of our dating) was a Pooh long plain.

    2. You’re welcome, Beverley. I was impressed with Pooh’s singing…..really liked them. 😀

  7. Thank you Daniela and Pat for always bringing us the best of the boys. We loved every little bit of video that we get. We dream of getting to Italy to see them in their natural setting. We love you for all that you do for us.

    1. Thanks Victoria, it’s always a pleasure to read your comment and hear from you. You’re always very kind. A hug to you, to your husband and also to our mutual friend !!

  8. What a SUPER posting, Daniela and Patti!!! So many videos to watch and the translations were great. If our “boys” had to pick three songs from their repertoire, they couldn’t have chosen three better for the Mediaset Group. Gives me goosebumps each time I hear these songs!

As for the song with Pooh, after a career of over 50 years, Pooh still fills a stadium. I would love to see them in person, also, but —– Thanks again, ladies! Hugs, Dol.

    1. Thank you for the post, always a pleasure to read them. Thank you for keeping us posted with updates. Big hug

    2. Dolores, thanks for the compliments. I too was very happy with the sincere appreciation of Il Volo on Mediaset, I just hope that even from abroad they can follow the various channels live. The Poohs are a true institution here in Italy!

  10. What a delight to find your new article today Daniela – clearly explaining some of the outstanding questions I have had about our guys the last couple of days – you must have read my mind😜
I was especially happy to get an explanation on their TV show the other day (Mediaset) as I had no real idea of what it was all about – but I am sooo delighted to learn of the context and not the least the very fine words spoken of our guys by these rather important people. The guys must have been so pleased to receive these high praises and learning of how appreciated they are. Kudos Il VOLO👍❤️ And wow 3 major shows in prime time on Canale 5 in 2023-24, wohoo. No reason to cry any longer over a few music critics that may not feel obliged to write nicely about them – the praises and beautiful words expressed in this TV show are of so much more value! PS I did thoroughly enjoy the 3 songs they performed – they sounded better than ever in my ears and they went straight to my heart. Awesome!

But Daniela I don’t really understand the situation of a free concert on July 21 for the locals only. I haven’t heard of it before and don’t get where it is to take place? It says Piazza del Popolo – that’s in Rome, right? But it does likewise state Syracusa, but that’s in Sicily??? Anyhow, not being for foreigners it doesn’t matter, but I am confused. I so much had hoped for an August/September Italian concert in Sicily or southern Italy that I could have combined with some holiday in the sun, but alas, that doesn’t seem like the case this year.

I loved the fine way the guys and The Pooh have collaborated. So much to the benefit of both parts and so great to experience how much they respect each other. I like it very much.

Thanks again for a great and enlightening article and warmest regards from

    1. In fact Kirsten, when I saw that you posted the Mediaset video and you wrote “I don’t know exactly what the evening is about”, I thought….. a moment of patience and Pat will publish the explanation!! Naturally I am very happy with Pier Silvio’s nice words and the collaboration with Mediaset, even if here in Italy we all expected those words from RAI which is the national network, the television network where Il Volo was born. As for the concert in the square with free admission, in a previous post I explained that it is an initiative of a manager of a company based in Ascoli Piceno, who to celebrate 30 years of activity wanted the Il Volo concert in square in Ascoli Piceno (central Italy) and was for residents of Ascoli. The problem arose because the municipality of Ascoli had many requests from abroad to assist and also from the rest of Italy, so they had to figure out how to give entry only to residents. The article then ends in a nice way by writing “that appeals to everyone from Sondrio to Syracuse” (they are two cities at the extremes, Sondrio is to the north, Syracuse in Sicily), as if to say from north to south!! However, ticket booking starts tomorrow morning, only two tickets each for residents. I hope I have clarified everything well for you, a hug!

      1. Ansolutely Daniela. I am in full understanding now. Thanks so much for taking the time to explain. As to the situation with the “free” concert I see, however, that Torpedine and their management have done a bit of wrong planning for the guys this summer as clearly there have been – is – a demand for minimum a couple of Italian concerts one of which ought to be in Sicily. They would be fully booked in no time and our of the country fans would flee to them. Well we’ll just have to survive and hope for next summer. Hugz.❤️

  11. I am so grateful for the hard work you Daniela & Pat have put into this article for us all to enjoy & to know that many hours go into keeping us in touch with what our Boys are up to – love hearing about them – much love & respect to you both.

    1. It is my great pleasure, Jude, to help Daniela get these stories of our guys to everyone. 😀 I’m glad you appreciate it.

    2. Thank you Jude, and stay with us always, there will still be many news, I’m sure and I will keep you informed of everything.

  12. Thank you Daniela for all the information and the translations. It was so nice to see the affection and respect these two groups have for each other. To see two groups with such an age difference performing, having such a good time, and really enjoying being together was something I wish we would see more often. It makes you feel good. I also thought it was nice when Piero spoke of his appreciation of the fans who have followed them from the start as I have. They always acknowledge their fans.

    1. Yes, Cathy, I too thought the same when, once again, Piero recognized the value and affection of the fans who have followed them since their debut.

  13. Thank you both once again for a great article and videos! Daniela your translations are invaluable to us none Italian speaking and for that alone I cannot thank you enough! You bring everything out into the light for us, you are the gift that keeps giving! I thank you and know all the other fans do to for all the time and love you put into every article about our”boys”….I’m sorry like my own kids, they will forever be boys in my heart….watching them grow from 14-15 to 28-30 has been and continues to be a great pleasure! I’m looking forward to knowing they will at least be popular 50 yrs from now…even when I’ll be watching from Heaven! I think IPOOH is amazing, before ILVOLO I had never heard of them….look at all Ive missed!! I love the fact that their name came from”WINNIE THE POOH” a character that is also ageless!
    With greatest affection, Carol 💖💖💖❤️😘🤗🎼🎤☮️👏👏👏🙏🙏

    1. Thanks Carol for the compliments, when I translate for you, I also try to explain the moments, situations, people, things that are obvious to us, but for you who are not Italian, it is difficult to understand, so I put myself in your shoes and I try to answer questions you might ask me.
A machine translation only is not enough to explain better.

    2. You’re most welcome, Carol! Daniela and I are glad we can present all the news of our guys to the Flight Crew! Daniela does such a great job explaining everything. I read her posts and if I don’t understand or have questions I ask her and we get it figured out. It’s so much fun working with Daniela. I think we make a great team! 😀

  14. Thank you very much Daniela and Pat for this beautiful post. It’s was so nice that Pooh invited Il Volo, their performance was great. I wonder what our boys will surprise us on their fifteenth anniversary. Year after year they are getting better and their concerts are more beautiful and more surprising. And of course I’m waiting impatiently for the new CD. GRAZIE MILLE 😘

    1. Hi Jolanta, it’s true, I too expect great things for the 15th year, but it’s impossible to make predictions. In the meantime, let’s enjoy everything that Il Volo can give us and it’s always a joy for us.

  15. Thank you Daniella for this lovely story. I anxiously await each and every “flight crew” communication I receive and save them all to reread and enjoy again & again. Keeping informed about my three loves makes my heart happy❤️

You all do a wonderful job! Thanks again!😊

    1. Thank you Maryann, you are very kind, re-reading the posts means trying to understand every little detail and seeing if maybe something has escaped!

    1. Mark, the Pooh essentially perform pop, but it is a pop that also makes use of the support of the orchestra in musical performances. When I was a little girl and I listened to them assiduously, my dad told me that he appreciated them because they blended well the typical instruments of boy bands (guitar, drums) with the strings of orchestras. Also they have always had an image of good guys, with good attitudes, never related to drug stories, just like our guys, and some of their songs would be perfect for our guys. The first time they sang together (Pooh and Volo in 2013) they performed PIERRE a beautiful Pooh song that I attach to you. Furthermore, when there was the scandal of the press room jury in Sanremo against Il Volo in 2019, Francesco Facchinetti, son of Dodi (the front man, pianist and organist) immediately took the defense of Il Volo against the journalists.

  16. Thank you Daniela, all very interesting. I was very curious about this group and knew they must be very well known and supportive of our guys and their developing career.

    1. Mark, I realized that my comment has been truncated, perhaps because it was too long, so I’ll finish what I wrote here.
Francesco Facchinetti, (son of the frontman and pianist of the Pooh), during Sanremo 2019 was the only one to defend Il Volo from the terrible comments of the press room.
