WORLD TOUR 2025: DETROIT – NEW YORK – ATLANTIC CITY by Daniela

Il Volo continues undauntedly touring in the U.S. and it is always a success.
The fans show with so much affection their admiration towards Ignazio, Gianluca and Piero who are evidently moved and pleased by all this.
I continue therefore in the description of three other concerts..

March 18

The concert was in Detroit at the fantastic and historical FOX THEATRE.

After the concert in Antonio’s Restaurant.
He posted the photo with this comment:
“What an unforgettable night! 🎵
It was an absolute joy to experience Il Volo live in Metro Detroit, surrounded by family, friends, and the vibrant Italian community. @barone_piero, @ignazioboschetto Boschetto, and @gianginoble11 delivered a breathtaking performance, reminding us why their music continues to inspire audiences around the world.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who purchased our ticket package and supported the Rugiero Promise Foundation in the process. Your generosity helps us continue making a difference in our community.
Sharing this special evening with loved ones made it even more memorable. Until next time, Il Volo! 💓

March 21

The concert was in New York at the prestigious RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL.
Torpedine posted this photo with these ironic words:
“There’s not even a seat left for me…crazy “, because RCMH has been SOLD OUT for a long time!! 👏👏👏
You’ve all read the beautiful review of Jo Ann’s concert and now enjoy these videos of the evening.

And I think this was the reason for the cancellation of the New York soundcheck at the last minute, Il Volo was at 690 Park Avenue, that is, they were received by the Italian Consulate who published the photo with this comment:
“What an incredible pleasure to have @ilvolomusic at #690ParkAvenue before their concert at Radio City Hall. 🎤  Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero you are great artists. Thank you for representing Italy at its best!”
What can we say about this beautiful video that inspired the Italian news? (turn on subtitles)

Il Volo with Sandra Russo who posted the entire live broadcast of the concert for Stardust Shows Entertainment.
You know that on their tour, there is a guest Cecile, a young Italian singer who accompanies them in a song and then sings a solo song. During an interview with Cecile a question was asked about her relationship with Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca, read what beautiful words she said about them..
How would you describe your relationship with Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio? Is there a moment you spent with them that you remember with particular affection?
I smile at this question because right now I am in my hotel room here in America and until a few minutes ago, I was having dinner with the guys. The relationship with Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca was truly the most unexpected gift. Of course, I hoped and was almost certain that we would get along but I never would have thought that such a deep friendship could be born. I have lived with them intimate moments of great confessions, reflections, and then the laughter, the tears of joy and the hugs given and received with an open heart, the mutual understanding in the less happy moments. Really, I never would have imagined a friendship of this kind and for me this is truly one of the most beautiful gifts I could receive… and I say this not because they are “Il Volo”, but because they are Ignazio, Gianluca and Piero.
Luckily I could tell you about a thousand significant moments; from the first concert together in Germany where they moved me with their kindness, hospitality, care, thoughtfulness; to my birthday celebrated together on stage and then celebrated together with families and friends; to evenings like tonight when Ignazio cooks for us and between music, laughter and chats, we all feel “at home”. During this tour of more than a month, we are spending a lot of time together. Traveling a lot, and moving from city to city every two days, we also share moments of everyday life, like meeting up in pajamas at the end of the concert in this big “camper” (tour bus) and waking up and having breakfast “on the road” while heading to the next stop. Luckily it is difficult to find a significant moment with the guys because with great happiness I can say that I have really experienced many of them and I hope there will be many more.
While in New York they were also guests of GOOD DAY New York, just before their concert.
Even Italian TV has taken an interest in Il Volo’s tour, this is the report aired on RAI 2 during the TG NEWS.
MAN= Fresh from the sold out of New York at the RCMH, Il Volo celebrates 15 years of career with three concerts that will be held in May at Palazzo Te in Mantua.
VOICE= TUTTI PER UNO Viaggio nel Tempo, a project that celebrates great Italian music, art and culture above all and fifteen years of career of Il Volo. The show in its third edition will move to the prestigious historic location of Palazzo Te in Mantua.
PIERO= We are sure that the place will be the setting for all the repertoire that we will propose in this new edition of TUTTI PER UNO.
VOICE= The dates set are May 8-10-11, the only concerts of Il Volo in Italy. Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble will bring on stage both their successes and unreleased performances accompanied every evening by special guests.
An important year for the group with the publication of AD ASTRA, their first album of unreleased songs, also available in the international version that includes the latest unreleased Tra le Onde.
And this service aired on Italia 1 during Studio Aperto.

VOICE= Il Volo conquers New York, sold out at Radio City Music Hall the most coveted stage for the stars.
GIANLUCA= It is a great achievement for us to be here, we are very satisfied with the entire artistic journey, it was a great job but also a game.
VOICE= A success achieved and consolidated with passion, with the aim of bringing bel canto into people’s hearts.
The American tour continues in the most prestigious locations in the States, then in May, they return to Italy for the third edition of TUTTI PER UNO Viaggio nel Tempo, in an extraordinary place: Palazzo Te in Mantua.
PIERO= We are sure that this place will be the setting for all the repertoire that we will propose in this new edition of TUTTI PER UNO.
VOICE= After the U.S. and the suggestive stop in Mantua, the tour will continue in the main European capitals and in Latin America.
IGNAZIO= It will be a very important tour, energy-consuming, but we can’t wait.
Even Italian newspapers are publishing articles about Il Volo’s tour, like this truly unique one from LIBERO QUOTIDIANO that I’m translating for you.

Il Volo, Gianluca Ginoble: “Where They Made Me Sleep”, stuff for a select few

There are three Italians who have conquered America and the world, and not just today. And the triumph of Il Volo is all in a red keychain. Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble, former tenors now standard-bearers of Italian “bel canto”, interviewed by Repubblica proudly show off that little object: “At the reception they gave us this keychain. It’s room 424. Leonard Cohen slept here, guys.” And for those who know a little about music, it means being in the same category as the giants.
After all, they are in New York and their accommodation is simply legendary: the Chelsea Hotel, on 23rd Street. Practically one of the temples of rock: “I’m staying in Bob Dylan’s bedroom,” Gianluca proudly announces. The same walls and beds inhabited by Dylan Thomas, Mark Twain, Robert Mapplethorpe. And then the crazy, crazy parties between the Sixties and Seventies, creative and penniless geniuses. In the Big Apple they will sing for the fifth time at the Radio City Music Hall, another symbolic place, to certify their status as superstars. And their world tour (Europe, Canada, America, South America, the East) is stuff for a select few.
The three boys are doing things in a big way: in a few weeks there will be the third edition of Tutti per uno — Viaggio nel tempo, in the suggestive Palazzo Te in Mantua, on May 8, 10 and 11, the only live shows in Italy.
“This morning on the TV show Good Day New York, on Fox 5, they asked us to sing the melody of the Gladiator in Italian – Piero reveals – We could have sung the Yellow Pages and the melody would still have reached the heart. Didn’t the same thing happen in the days of Elvis Presley? Our parents danced, swinging their hips, even though they didn’t understand the words of the king of rock’n’roll.”
I am happy but not surprised by this success machine that is Il Volo, their talent and their skill are now known to everyone and fill me with pride and from all over the world I receive messages of love towards Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero, it’s really nice to be a Volo-fan!
See you soon:
Daniela 🤗

  1. As always, a BIG THANK YOU, for bringing us the details, music, the words of Il Volo as they tour the USA.

  2. Thank you for your beautiful articles and pictures of our fantastic handsome Il volo . Good luck and success for their upcoming concerts.

  3. Many thanks, Daniela and Pat, for all these terrific posts. I really loved Cecile’s comments (what a lucky girl–to be having breakfast in PJ’s with the guys😘!) And the other articles too–I sure appreciate all these translations, Daniela. And it’s fun to read about them being so excited about staying at the Chelsea Hotel. Also, I’m proud that there were so many sell-outs on the American tour–hooray!

    1. Really very nice what Cecile said about our boys, they created a nice camaraderie with her too. Gian’s morale was sky high to update at the Chelsea Hotel!

Luz, we can say that wherever they go it’s a success, but not only for their undeniable talent, but also for their way of being, nice, open, golden boys!

  5. Thank you, Daniela and Pat for your work in compiling all the photos, music, and translations about Il Volo. I love reading about all the concerts. I was lucky to attend 3 concerts this tour, but it was still not enough. Never enough. And I finally got to experience the awesome Fox Theatre in Detroit. What a treat!

    1. Maija is never enough, and then after the concerts the nostalgia takes over until next year!!
The Fox must be a truly unique experience.

  6. Thank you thank you, Daniela and Pat! I’m loving all the great press in Italy and the proud welcome at the Italian Embassy in NY! They have finally been recognized for their talent and who they are as people! I’m so proud of them. Also really enjoyed Cecil sweet note about our guys…they could make anyone feel special because it comes so easy for them, kindness, love and caring is always first on the agenda! I’m really enjoying all the sold out shows, if I’m not mistaken all the RCMH shows were sold out! I was there in 2022 (December) and it was sold out then too, it’s such a great venue! I’ve been privileged to live not that far from the city growing up it was always a destination for many school trips!(it was a lot close before traffic became out of hand!!) our boys to men have finally fully arrived as SUPERSTARS!!!
    Love you both, Carol❤️🤗😘🎵🎶🎼🎤💖💖💖🙏🏻☮️🥂🍾

    1. All of the articles are fantastic and I love the pictures and videos of them. As they say in the theater business, “break a leg”. I had written this somewhere else and I was told how terrible I said that. Must not know the arts saying that! I’m means good luck. ❤️👍

      1. Der Ausdruck “Hals und Beinbruch” stammt vermutlich aus dem Jiddischen “hatsloche un broche” und bedeutet Erfolg und Segen.

      2. Das ist interessant, Ina! Danke schön!

That is interesting, Ina! Thank you!

      3. Yes Linda, there is another way to express your wish in the world of entertainment, but don’t worry our boys understand perfectly that it is still a saying in sign of their luck.

      4. Yes but this was from a fan club member. Maybe doesn’t know what it means. ❤️

      5. Exactly. In Italy, when wishing good luck, they say “in bocca al lupo”. In a literal translation into another language, it also sounds strange 🙂 I just have no idea why this phrase is used.

    2. Carol, you can’t imagine how proud I was, as an Italian, to see the welcome from the Italian consulate…..wow wow!!
Yes there are many sold out and this is another reason for pride and I think that the mood of our boys is sky high.

      1. Yes Pat, thanks for finding the right explanation.

Iva is exactly as explained here, the wolf’s mouth is the safest place.
Of course, for me it’s strange to say “break a leg”. 😁

  7. Thank you Daniela and Pat for covering Il Volo’s concerts in Detroit, New York and Atlantic City. The Fox Theatre in Detroit is an amazing venue. It must be wonderful to see Il Volo there. I read JoAnn’s review of their concert at Radio City Music Hall and I certainly agree. I was fortunate to be there with one of my sons and they were wonderful! It is just so hard to describe how their beautiful voices make you feel, and you wish the concert will never end! You feel the love all around you.
The soundcheck was cancelled but lovely that they were honored at the Italian Consulate. Enjoyed reading the interview with Cecile who naturally had only good things to say about Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca and their travels.

    1. You’re most welcome, Margaret! 😊 This was a great post by Daniela! I agree with you on how the guys’ voices and music make us feel. There is really no good way to describe it. I know it lifts up my soul and makes me very happy! 😁

    2. Margaret, you are one of the very first fans of Il Volo, you have been following them since they were really little. Now they are grown men, but their charisma and their talent are intact.
      Thanks for the nice compliments.
Yes Cecile said very nice words, on the other hand we all know that those who have the chance to really know Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca adore them even more.

  8. I’m getting exhausted on behalf of “Il Volo” having to cope with such a strenuous itinerary – and I’m getting exhausted on behalf of the fantastic Flight Crew Team for constantly being right in the tails of our guys sending us full and detailed info on each and every of their concerts bringing us up to date with all their endeavors – and I’m getting exhausted just trying to follow along all the lovely postings and comments here – huh – but thanks a million for everything.

This time I was truly looking forward to the review from Detroit – for several reasons – as I have had the fantastic experience of living and attending school in the area back in the mid 60th – and not the least, I recall with great fondness a school-trip to downtown Detroit to enjoy a play at… yes, you guessed it, nothing less than the Fox Theater! They played “Man of La Mancha” at this awesome venue, which I can see, really hasn’t changed much and still appears grand and impressive with its golden and red velvet old school interior. I recall too not being able to understand much of the dialog as my English was still somewhat limited – but I recall the grandness of the place. So I am so glad, that the guys were to take in especially this particular stage :-). I was also glad to learn that this time the place was – almost – sold out and not like last time only half filled with the necessity of moving people from the balconies to the ground floor to make it more intimate. But I am still very surprised that a red sold out sign hasn’t been blinking for days and maybe even a second night added – as, if I am right, exactly Detroit was the place where the guys’ very first concert in the US back in their teenage days took place and later they were honored by the city council and made honory members of same. Correct me if I am wrong… So Detroit must have a very special place in the guys’ hearts, I should think. But, well, the venue was satisfactorily filled and the concert was as marvelous and appreciated by the audience as all of their other successful US concerts.

Yes, the note from Cecille is lovely – and I am very happy that she recognizes how lucky a girl she is having been taken to heart by the guys and given this unique opportunity. Really must be like winning the lottery to her. I must, however, admit I do wonder why the guys have taken her along on this US Tour as well… I know that she is close to Andrea Bochelli in one way or another – and yes, Andrea did invite the guys to guest-star at his grand Jubilee Concert in LA this autumn, but, in my opinion I am sorry to say, she doesn’t bring anything to the concert and is far from the level of our guys, so, why? Yes, I know our guys are having hearts of gold and no doubt never will forget how much it meant to them that Barbara Streisand took them under her wings when they were still young and without much experience, but still… They gave her the chance of performing with them in Europe and that ought to have been enough, I should have thought. Personally, I prefer “Il Volo” not sharing the stage with anyone else in the principle, yet, I do enjoy the few times they have invited a top local star of the country/area visited to join them, which I find a very lovely gesture and a fine compliment to the hosts. Hence, instead I think they should have invited a couple of top American artist to join them now and then – but that is, of course, entirely my personal thoughts and wishes. But OK, I am happy on Cecille’s behalf.

Have a wonderful Sunday and warmest regards – Kirsten, Denmark.

    1. Ich sehe da auch so, Kirsten. Cecille ist keine Bereicherung. Ich verstehe auch nicht, warum sie dabei ist. Ja es wäre besser gewesen, lokale Künstler einzuladen.

    2. Kirsten, I’m glad you are enjoying the guys strenuous schedule of concerts and Daniela’s coverage of them! 😊

We are also working our “tails” off! 😂🤣 Like I have said many times, it is truly a labor of love. 😍🥰💗

    3. Sorry if I’m late with my answer, Kirsten, but this tour has really been a succession of dates one after the other, I really don’t know how Ignazio, Piero and Gianluca manage to keep up with such a strong pace, but now the U.S. tour is over and the Canadian tour has already begun.

As for Cecile, you know what I think, I also think it was a courtesy to Bocelli.
As for our guys, we would all like to listen to them exclusively, hear only them sing, but I must also admit that their strength and skill is also measured by comparison with others and certainly during the TUTTI PER UNO concerts we understood that they put all singers at ease with different styles and that, even if their approach follows the classical thread, they don’t look out of place at all when they sing rock or soul, in short they are true chameleons.
