I can’t believe it!!!
The last concert in Canada was on April 5th and then Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio went back home to Italy for a well-deserved rest, but on April 8th they were already on the radio for an interview, incredible!
The interview was with Radio RTL102.5 for the program THE FLIGHT (that’s the real name of the program, nothing more appropriate), and they were interviewed by Alessandra Zacchino who is commonly called ZAC for short.
They were also live on the music channel, so I propose the video and we can also see our boys.
I only translated the first part of the interview, because then I saw a video already with well-made subtitles translated into English and then from there continue on the video and thank Donalee Dragna for doing this great job, thanks Donalee!!
INTERVIEW
ZAC= This Tuesday afternoon the guys from: Il Volo joined us, each in their own location.
GIANLUCA= Hello everyone.
IGNAZIO= Hello.
PIERO= Hello, Hello.
ZAC= Piero, Ignazio Gianluca, welcome, welcome back.
So, tell us a little, how are you? First of all, you look good.
PIERO= What do you want to know?
ZAC= So, I want to know… first of all, how many tours have you done in America?
PIERO= Nine
ZAC= Nine? So in sixteen years
GIANLUCA= Yes, almost sixteen years, just think that on April 25, 2025, so soon, we will celebrate sixteen years of career.
ZAC= How wonderful, and you have had a ton of sold-outs….
IGNAZIO= How wonderful for you who see it from the outside, but sixteen years together is tough!!
ZAC= But I meant how wonderful the tour is, then if we want to get into specifics, Ignazio wants to take advantage….
IGNAZIO= We put up with each other every day, but….
ZAC= But this relationship in the end, on stage you guys do extraordinary numbers, I’m not saying this because I like you, but with the cards in hand!
PIERO= Look, this was a magnificent and exciting tour, we didn’t expect it… because we know the United States well, we’ve been going there to perform concerts for many years, but this year we experienced it differently, there was a different awareness.
It was exciting because seeing year after year, the number of audience capacities always increasing, the affection always the same and you conquer new generations, this gives you energy for the future and everything there is to do from now on.
ZAC= Yes, it’s true, because in addition to you having grown over these fifteen and a half years, your audience has also grown, which has always been very varied, because there were adults, but also kids and many of these kids then became adults and the new very young people arrived.
GIANLUCA= Yes, many girls have become mothers and many mothers have become grandmothers.
IGNAZIO= Let’s say that those who worked then, are now retired.
PIERO= And many grandmothers are no longer here.
GIANLUCA= No, come on. Unfortunately, look, this is a black humor that is contemplated but maybe not at this time.
ZAC= To sum up, it was an American tour that took you both to the United States and Canada, the last date was in Ontario, the Canadian side of Niagara Falls and it was a success, but we’ll be back in Italy soon, okay?

Il Volo, Grande Amore on RTL 102.5 it’s 3.16 pm and the guys are connected with us after a very successful tour, but as I was saying this is only a part of what they have to do, because then there will be a European tour, in short they will continue to tour, but in between there are three very important dates, three unmissable events, May 8, 10 and 11, explain to me for a moment what we are talking about for these three dates.

PIERO= We arrived yesterday evening from the United States, we did this 6-week tour, it was a nice tour of 20 concerts.
You know we often go to America to do concerts, but this year it was different, it was a tour perhaps…let me say…more exciting, we experienced it with more awareness, then it is always a pleasure to go there, to sing, but then coming back is always nice.
Now we are at home, not on vacation, because we are working on the next project that we will tell you about shortly, we have five days to rest and then we are ready to do everything.
MAN= Gianluca, are you confirming or reversing what Piero said?
GIANLUCA= Mamma mia, Piero has said it all by now, but I expected Giulia to be there. (Giulia Salemi presenter of Radio Zeta and friend – laughter) Sorry, no offense to you.

Nice and kind and funny as always, they promoted the three concerts in Mantua by listing some guests with whom we will hear them sing. I know that perhaps for you the singers listed may be big question marks, but know that they are very famous artists in Italy, and then we will see the violinist Alessandro Quarta again.

Wonderful news from Ignazio and Michelle! A very beautiful announcement with lovely and tasteful photos that show the Grande Amore. I believe that they will both be wonderful parents and that Piero and Gianluca will be great uncles. And what about Grandpa Michele! Above all, may everyone be well and healthy now!
What surprised me was the name of the little girl. 🙂 I immediately remembered the interview that Vanity Fair published with the boys last year before Christmas. They were very open and honest in their answers, a very interesting article! They asked them questions from the Proust questionnaire one by one and one of them was: what is their favorite name. All the boys said a female name and Gian joked that according to that, they probably all want a daughter. And Ignazio’s answer was Bianca. And then he added that he was looking forward to making her ponytails with the help of a vacuum cleaner, as he had seen in a video somewhere. So my wish to have a daughter named Bianca has come true, now I also have long hair like Michelle’s!
That is wonderful. And of course to grandpa Michele too and I don’t know when she is due, but what about October 4 , Ignazio birthday? Hmmm what do you think?

Dear Cathy, you are lucky (and not only you) to have been able to follow them from the beginning. I had to catch up on all your knowledge. But you are right that it is incredible that they are already 30 years old. They have gone through a huge transformation, not only physically, but also musically. Only those who have been following them for 16 years can truly appreciate that. (I started later). But once you start, you can’t stop. They somehow slowly and quietly become such a distant part of your family. Not only because of who they are, but above all because of what they are.
From little stars, the boys have become big world stars. But without the starry manners, eccentricities and scandals. They have remained immediacy, humility, kindness, the desire to always learn and, above all, enormous empathy. We watch them grow up, just like our own children. As they grow older, we share their happiness and their problems with them from a distance. And we wish them all the best in this world. Success, love, family… Yet somehow we still intuitively consider them “children” (at least we, the slightly older generation). And now we suddenly find out that the first of them is going to become a dad! This is when you realize how quickly time flies and that at 30, guys have definitely left the category of “children” and become great “young men”.
I watch the enthusiasm of the ilvolovers rise when I look at the announcement of Ignazio and Michelle on Instagram. Bianca must already have a huge fan base as the first “ilvolo baby”! I have no idea what month Michelle is in, but since she already knows they are expecting a girl, I would guess at least the fourth. Now it will be a difficult period for both of them, when they will have to cope with the distance between each other and Ignazio’s tour commitments. And I really hope that when that special day comes, they will both be there, so that they can look into little Bianca’s face for the first time together.

Our boys are no longer children but men who open themselves to life with maturity, Ignazio is the first who has faced marriage and now fatherhood, but I am sure that it is a predominant idea also in Gianluca and Piero: the family. All three have had excellent foundations and in their ways have always put them as an example, the path continues and we are spectators of this beautiful journey.
What an amazing story of these wonderful guys and their career. It’s so true, their concert in the US gets bigger and bigger every year, we just can’t wait too see them next year. I was lucky to see them with my friend and they never disappoint. My congratulations to Ignazio and Michelle with the wonderful baby news, I’m so happy for them.
Gail, those who attend their concerts are enthusiastic and often wait to see them again, health permitting.
The three of them are also great stimulators of well-being, attending their concerts, in some cases can alleviate a painful journey and also give hope, who knows if Ignazio, Gianluca and Piero are aware of this effect of theirs.

Mark, I think Ignazio came on tour knowing the news, obviously he kept it a secret but I think it was really hard for him. Bianca was very much wanted and we are all happy that this expectation came true. I don’t dare to think about Ignazio and Michelle’s happiness!!

This baby is going to loved by so many, many abuellas and nonnas . There are thousands of us waiting for the birth of this baby who already has a special place in my heart.
I confirm RoseMarie, this little girl, in addition to the affection of Ignazio and Michelle and all their relatives, including her step-uncles Piero and Gianluca and their families, and her grandfather Torpedine, will have many grandmothers, great-grandmothers, aunts scattered throughout the world, it is a great joy that once again unites all the fans!
P.S. I forgot to mention the terrific photos of the guys at Andrea Bocelli’s ABF foundation and the wonderful words about them. It seems such a good thing that they all are mutually respected friends now. Daniela & Pat!! – you two outstanding humans with big hearts I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking us on this magnificent journey – your inputs are resoundingly interesting & given in great detail – Ignazio & Michelle both reflect impressive countenances – which tells me they are both good honest & genuine people – not only to each other but to all they meet – our little bub is going to be born into a beautiful family & may I say the IL Volo family as well – what stunning people to be around & of course our excellent Michele – the manager of IL Volo – what a fine gentleman he is – he truly loves Piero – Ignazio & Gianluca – I have not seen much on Youtube of the boys concerts in the US – so it has been uplifting to see the hard work you girls have put into this project on ‘Facebook’ – you are becoming an international entity!! – how wonderful!! – IL Volo will never go away!! – they will only become better with maturity – they are wholesome & outstanding in every way – gone are the days when they used to beat each other up backstage – hahaha!!! – love you girls for the love & respect you display to all the folks who send you comments – much love from Queensland.

It’s nice and uplifting to know that what Pat and I have published has been helpful to those who don’t receive much news about our beloved boys, but I assure you that there are many beautiful videos on YouTube that you have yet to discover.
The beauty of reporting news is also that of giving some really beautiful ones that bring so much joy, like the announcement of Bianca’s arrival…..priceless!!

I am very late to this thread, but I am thrilled to hear the good news! A sweet bambina named Bianca. I wondered why Michele didn’t accompany Ignazio on the U.S. tour; now we know.
