AN INTENSE MAY 2025 by Daniela

Do you think that after the U.S. tour and the three concerts in Mantua, Il Volo enjoyed a well-deserved rest???
That’s not exactly the case.
In reality, I don’t understand where those three find the strength to do all this, but they are certainly young and have a staff behind them that works well.
Of course, after the hard work in Mantua, our guys each returned to their family home, but not much time has passed, in reality only five days and Gianluca is making people talk about him, he gave a lesson at an institute in his Abruzzo.
Everything is well described in this article from May 16 that I’ll translate for you.

IN VOLO WITH STUDENTS, GIANLUCA GINOBLE’ LESSON: “TECHNOLOGY HAS ANESTHETIZED US TODAY”
The singer was the protagonist of a meeting at the Lucatelli Institute as part of a course dedicated to the value of words.
Words are not just a means of communication, they are body, life, desire.
Words can imprison us or make us free, make us live in anxiety and fear or bring us joy and serenity.
Words unite but often, unfortunately, they are also occasions of closure and conflict.
This and other things were discussed yesterday during the meeting held in the Comprehensive Institute of Tolentino Lucatelli-Don Bosco to complete the school project “La cura delle parole”.
Special guest, singer Gianluca Ginoble from Il Volo, who gave a lesson to the kids on the value of words and the importance of reading.
“Today, technology – the famous singer observed – has anesthetized us, we have become much more fragile and dependent on the means of communication that, more often than not, distract us from our priorities or duties. Social media often represents a source of linguistic impoverishment.
Young people no longer want to read, indeed they consider reading a useless thing, of no practical value.
However, they must not be a display of knowledge, instead it is necessary to internalize what we read to find within sentences and words a meaning to what we experience.
Taking care of words means covering the depth of the language, analyzing a topic in depth and school represents the privileged place to promote itineraries and strategies aimed at arousing curiosity and love for everything that concerns verbal communication, to bring out the need and pleasure of this ability. Furthermore, it leads young people towards the knowledge of many emotions.”
“Reading Dostoevsky, for example, makes us understand – Ginoble added – what pain is without needing to feel it.
Flaubert makes us feel all the passion of love even without being in love.
Words are therefore not just a tool for communication: through conscious language, we can create images and emotional states within ourselves and also in those who listen to us.”
The project LA CURA DELLE PAROLE (The care of words)   involved students from the third class and a second class from the primary school. All classes focused their attention on an aspect of the word, with individual and group work. Many were the questions that the students asked the Abruzzo member of Il Volo, interested in knowing the singer’s habits, his sources of inspiration and his favorite team, Roma.
Gianluca Ginoble finally invited the students to discover their own vocation:
“Do what you feel, don’t let yourself be influenced too much by others, there will always be those who appreciate you and those who criticize you.”
And towards the teachers:
“Respect them, they take care of you, you too take care of them as you take care of your parents.”
Finally, the students gave the singer a painting they had painted depicting a spring landscape with the words, “The voice of silence”. A word, silence, to be rediscovered, was privileged for reading.
A short video of the lesson where an interviewer asks Gianluca his opinion on “letting go – change”.
GIANLUCA = Letting go like changing, even in the old version of me I never had a hard time, in fact I can’t wait to change because there are people who say: “I’m made like this”, and that is the most wrong thing you can say, because it means that you don’t give yourself the chance to be reborn every time and I have never been afraid.
I had a hard time letting go of the people with whom I had shared time, for a question of attachment, when you recognize that it is no longer love but a habit, an attachment, it is hard (to let them go).
But in fact I also wanted to ask you a question (the students laugh because Gianluca who is being interviewed wants to ask the interviewer the question).
You know why, it is clear that you must not be a slave to your own mind, but I think it is a question that everyone asks themselves: “How important is it to learn to let go?”.
(Too bad the video ends here)

In a few days, it’s May 20th, Il Volo reunited, is in Cannes for a private event hosted by the jewelry house CHOPARD.
The private event was held during the Cannes Film Festival.
Here is what the house of Chopard published.
“ @chopard A creative twist on Cannes’s most exclusive night.
Caroline’s Universe evening invited the festival’s most distinguished guests into an enchanted forest of artistic imagination without limits. A celebration of the daring vision of Chopard Co-President and Artistic Director Chopard by Caroline.”
Here is an excerpt from an article dedicated to the fashion event and published by Globestyles.
During the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, Chopard organized “Universe”, an immersive gala dinner conceived by Caroline Scheufele. Hosted in a hangar transformed into a dreamlike universe, the event featured exclusive musical performances, a High Jewelry show with 78 unique creations, and the new dresses from the Caroline’s Couture collection. International guests included stars from the worlds of cinema, fashion, and music.
Guests included a lineup worthy of major film premieres: Festival juror Halle Berry, Alba Rohrwacher, Isabelle Huppert, Carla Bruni, James Franco, Patrick Schwarzenegger.
The evening opened with an aperitif at sunset, followed by a spectacular dinner in a setting inspired by a cosmic forest. Mirrored tables unfolded like luminous orbits, creating an immersive visual effect. The musical interlude was entrusted to the group Il Volo, who introduced the theme of the sensory journey, central to the evening’s imagery.
Only a couple of short videos have reached us.
But immediately after the event in Cannes, the immediate return to Italy, but this time towards Naples for another private event taking place in the Royal Palace of Naples.
This following photo of the entrance staircase was sent by Gianluca.
Nothing is known about the event, but there is a summary video of various musical moments.

We all thought that immediately after the concerts in Mantua there would be a period of well-deserved rest for Ignazio, Gianluca and Piero, but as we saw it was not like that at all.
Congratulations guys, hats off, you have so much energy and also a heart of gold that also thinks about supporting humanitarian projects.
More and more proud of you!!
Daniela 🤗

  1. Thank you Daniela. Three amazing young men, in so many ways. How I wish I were younger and able to travel to see them. (once in London was not enough)

    1. Agreed. London doesn’t seem to be on their managements list, I only have been following since November 2024, they are amazing, I noticed it was only one night at Theatre drury lane. It would be lovely if they could come at least twice. It’s not easy to visit their concerts. Maybe they don’t favour the UK.☺️Fingers crossed they will visit.
      Regards Fenella ( big fan)

      1. So how do they get promoted in the UK.?
        They have been here.
I’m sure there are a lot of fans here that would love them to come again.

    2. Fenella, people need to make those who organize concerts at your venues aware of their interest in Il Volo.

      .

Luz, their early story is very well known, but their beauty is that they continue on this path, polite, artistically talented, never vulgar in their language or way of dressing, affectionate with their families, in short, they are three guys from whom many kids could take an example.

  3. Again lovely comments and videos Daniele.
The more I watch them the more I love them, never get bored.
They work so hard but they enjoy and love what they do.
    Grazie Mille
    Warm wishes
    Fenella xx

    1. I agree Fenella, even if you see Il Volo 1000 times, you don’t get tired of watching them again.

  4. AS ALWAYS beautifully done!!!!! Il Volo has energy beyond the imagination of us olders!!! but it also gives me so much motovation to continue to exercise walk find parts of life to make better!!! YOUR words add fuel to that fire for me and enjoying their music your articles and life is an amazing way to live!!!!! Thank you for all you do I am forever indebted to you all for your dedication and love to Il Volo and to all of us!!!!
    Cindi

    1. Daniela, this was a very interesting article…..oh to be young again and have that energy, their vitality is amazing! But then they are amazing! I love the way they always give back and pay it forward. They are all (except PIERO) self educated having become stars at such young ages. Gian is a scholar with out having gone to HS, let along college….but he is so well read and has learned well!
Those 3 Spring concerts are so much work but they keep moving forward! Oh the places they’ve been, the people they’ve met and the beautiful things they give everyone at any concert and outside of performing!
This was as always informative and very entertaining….the more I see the more I love them!
Thank you and Pat for all you give to all of us in your busy lives, all of it is so appreciated, enjoyed and loved! It’s not just about our 3 wonderful young men but for introducing us to each other as well as IL VOLO! It’s so enjoyable to “meet “people from everywhere in the world.
Bless you both with love, good health and happiness, be safe, Carol❤️🤗😘💖💖💖🎶🎹🎤🎵🎼🙏🏻☮️

      1. Carol, as always thanks for your compliments, you know writing about Il Volo is relatively easy, because they never stop and therefore there is a lot to report and then they are always so natural in their attitudes, we know them well, but there is always something to discover in them and they never disappoint us.

      2. You’re welcome, Carol! It really is great…..getting acquainted with so many other people to love the music of IL VOLO! 😃💗

    2. Thank you Cindi for your beautiful compliments, they make us understand that we are doing a good job and that it is appreciated, thanks again, there will be much more to read.

      1. Always, I will be waiting as always thank you so much for doing this for us people who love them so much it makes it a little more. Family oriented in some ways, but owe so much more special again thanks!

Margit, you described Gianluca well by saying that he is an intellectually sensitive soul. He is also very intelligent and creative and has matured a lot lately, surely reading important texts has brought him a great knowledge.
Yes, Ignazio has done many performances and he is certainly the one who puts his image into play the most, also lending himself to dancing, joking and being a joker.
I don’t think Piero has held back a bit, in these televised concerts the operatic part is always a bit more limited to favor a younger audience and for this reason the lyrical pieces are less.

  6. Dear Daniela,
Once again, thank you so much for sharing this amazing story of the guys. They are young, magnificent and magical.
They are stars on the rise, but keep life spontaneous.
    Always a fan, I remain,
    Mary G. from Florida

    1. Yes Tony and Gale, it always seems like everything has already been said about the three of them, but then there is always something to discover or learn, they are always nice people.

  7. Thank you Daniela and Pat. It is kind of you to bring us even the smaller events that our Boys to Men are involved in.
Gianluca had an important message about social media taking over our lives and our minds.Ever since I found out that he liked to read books I wanted to know what he is reading.
His mention of Dostoevsky surprised me. Even readers of serious books tend to avoid the Russian fiction writers because they make it so hard to keep the characters straight.

  8. Gail our intent is precisely to let you know even the smaller events in which Il Volo participated and that had less resonance, it serves to make you always better understand their personalities. Gianluca lately with his deep readings amazes us a lot.

  9. Oh yes – I concur with all of you – how do those guys keep up with all those concerts, rehearsals, interviews, PR-work and what-ever they do constantly take part in without appearing the slightest tired, uninspired or worn out. I get exhausted just trying to follow along reading about it here on FlightCrew… They are amazing and yes, they are still relatively young, but still… Yet again, of course, it is their job to do all this and criss-cross the globe and yes, we work 5 out of 7 days a week as well, but I am still amazed that they can cope with it and apparently likewise have a bit of a “normal” life too. And no doubt, they are role models for the youth proving that you can reach goals by working hard and dedicated as well as being in show-bizz isn’t equal to end up in the gutter on drugs, booze and decadence. They are indeed to be applauded.

Thanks again Daniela for having taken the time to dig deep in the world press news and endless row of videos to enlighten us why one day we see them in Cannes, the next in Brazil only few days later to show up in Naples and so forth. We are lucky to have you and the team to keep us so well updated. Further, it is also so nice to learn how successful the guys have become hence being called for by private companies and establishments when-ever the need of some quality entertainment.

And that dear Gianluca… How kind of him to accept to take part in lecturing young students of the importance of the written word. He has definitely matured lately and does no longer struggle with being himself and publically to express his points of view whether mainstream or not. No longer hiding his fascination of reading the big philosophers, heavy quality literature and fully indulge into these universes. I believe he did just a short time ago likewise tell that he writes a bit of poetry himself. He is really serious about this universe and you do often see him underline sentences that seem important to him while reading. Sometimes I wonder what his life would have been like had he not been gifted with his unique beautiful voice and made it on the musical scene… As child and very young he was so insecure and uncertain of himself – seeking confirmation from fans and all corners – but now he seems to have found his place and enjoy being where he is right now. So glad on his behalf and kudos for taking the time and efforts to share his values with the next generations.

I did just watch the 3rd. “Tutti per Uno” Canale 5 video – and I cannot wait to learn of everyone’s thoughts of this last concert, so sorry Daniela, no time for you to take a summer break yet .

    Warmest regards – Kirsten, Denmark

    1. Yes me too! I just watched the third episode of tutti per uno viaggio. It was great with their new music and the different artists too. Can’t forget maestro Rota and pianist maestro Gianni and orchestra and chorus . Love everything about them and concerts .❤️❤️❤️

      1. True Linda, it is always a pleasure for the ears and eyes, but we will talk about it extensively in the new post!

    2. Oh yes Kirsten, they are truly inexhaustible, I hope at least they have enough recovery time.
I really enjoyed Gianluca’s lesson, I love how he speaks, he is a very cultured person and it is certainly not the degree that establishes it.
His voice is unique, so deep so sensual, a joy for the ears. I also see that lately he is much more relaxed, evidently the new emotional bond is more in keeping with his character and I am happy about it.
The last concert should be published today, I’m sorry I’m late, but you know well that I had a really intense week, I almost compete with Il Volo!!

  10. is the feud still going on between two of my favorite guys? So sorry to think they have hard feelings about each other. I love all three of them

        .
In fact INA, nothing could be further from the truth.

      1. What feud? Between who? I understand different people have different personalities etc. and our favorite guys are no different. They’re human like we are.
I pray it’s already over and doesn’t have a long term effect on their music. That would be a tragic mistake.
Those 3 guys are the perfect trio with perfectionism when they perform. I can and DO listen to them always, day & night, in my car, cleaning house….you name it, I carry them everywhere. My prayer is I hope to live long enough to see them in person.
Bless you Daniella for translating so very much for us. You truly are a treasure to all of us fans and the guys should be thankful to you. Without YOU, I wouldn’t know what the cat-hair the Italian words were. Now I can LISTEN to them sing it all day long, but reading is a whole ‘ other thing!!
Thank you Thank you THANK YOU!!!
        Love you dearly,
        Penny in Arkansas

      2. Penny, don’t believe these things, there is no feud.
These three guys are linked by deep affection, of course there may be differences of opinion, on the other hand they are three very different characters, but they also have the intelligence to overcome these moments, also because the affection that unites them is more than solid.
Thanks for the beautiful compliments it is a pleasure to know that we are appreciated!

    2. Dixiel – from where have you got that info? It is slander and has no bearings.

More than a year ago the press did, however, misunderstood some internal jokes between the guys leading to postings claiming that the guys were breaking up. Nothing could be more wrong but it took a couple of months before it was dealt with – and time has now proved how incorrect it was. The guys are now full grown men with individual opinions and ideas and, of course, they have discussions. But they thoroughly respect each other and have learned the fine art of compromising. And they are the best of friends.

Here at the Flight Crew we proud ourselves of never bringing slander about and to respect the privacy of the guys to the best of our abilities, so if you are unsure of your info, please be careful where and how you post. We love the guys and wish to protect them as much as we can. However, if you do have new and relevant info, we are of course interested in learning of same too no matter how sad a content. Thank you.

      Best regards – Kirsten, Denmark

      1. Thank you Kirsten for making it clear
I really didn’t understand or know about the comment on IlVolo re feud.
That would have been very sad.
As all you want is the guys to have a good relationship, like all friends occasionally there are disagreements, but not more than that.
        Warm regards
        Fenella

      2. I totally agree Kirsten, unfortunately some press does nothing but write unfounded articles, just this morning I was reading about a luxurious villa owned by Ignazio Boschetto and this splendid villa near Rome with a fabulous garden and right on the seashore was described in detail………… nothing more false!!! A person closely linked to the group told me that it is a big “hoax”!! I had no doubts.
Thanks also for defending our site, we do our best to ensure that the news written here at Flight Crew are true and we do not rely on reporting stupid malicious rumors.

    3. Dixie what are you talking about, if you are referring to some newspaper article, be careful, there are many newspapers that are just waiting to throw mud on our boys. I assure you that the three of them are linked by a deep affection, certainly the daily disagreements can be there, but just like in a family or a deep relationship, they are always overcome. Some newspapers have made a case on a gesture and some words that were only meant to be sincere and a little joking. NEVER believe biased articles.

  11. Hi Dixie
Sorry but something I have missed, what feud is it?
    Sad if there is.
    Fenella ( a big fan)

    1. Fenella, there is no feud, you can read everything you find, but only believe what we write here, because our intent is not to hide the truth, even if it can sometimes be uncomfortable, but to give a fair interpretation to what is often (especially in the case of Il Volo) misinterpreted or I would say purposely misinterpreted by journalists.

      1. Thank you, for clearing that up. that’s good to hear.
When I read that I was surprised as I didn’t think that would be so.
        But needed to ask.
        Have a lovely day.
        Warm wishes
        Fenella x

  12. Just reading through this and noticed someone asked about a feud. I’ve never noticed or believed there is or had been a feud. Ignazio may have been rude at most times towards Gianluca, or both he and Piero outwardly show themselves as cliquey; however, Gianluca has never shown any resentment. I believe over the years they have understood each other and able to iron out their artistic differences. They may not be true friends but remain friendly colleagues for the good of the group and other people involved. They’re still together and working splendidly to create magnificent concerts.

    1. Hi Ann G
I agree to a degree with you, but
I don’t think Ignazio has been rude to Gianluca and Piero and Ignazio are clicking , they just joke around and always affectionate with each other, of course friends disagree especially if you are together 24/7.
They are professional and gifted and wouldn’t be together this long if there was a problem.
As Daniele said there isn’t a feud and we shouldn’t believe everything we read.
Il Volo are amazing and loved.
I absolutely adore them and hope that they continue for as long as they can.
      Regards
      Fenella 😊

      1. Ignazio hat oft Späße auf Kosten von Gianluca gemacht und gestanden, dass er Ihn oft geärgert hat und sogar Spaß daran hatte.

      2. They were just young boys and still young men and that’s what they do.
But now it is fine. They are great friends.
