Il Volo adds 2026 tour dates, bringing operatic pop to more cities – Exclusive

The Italian operatic pop trio Il Volo will be figuratively running it back in North America and for two of the members, literally running back through the States this fall. USA TODAY can exclusively reveal the group of Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble will extend their world tour with additional North American dates. The eight-city trek kicks off Nov. 10 in Hollywood, Florida and wraps Nov. 21 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Tickets go on sale April 17 at 10 a.m. ET on the group’s website. The announcement comes as Il Volo prepares for its spring trek in the States, which runs April 15 through May 2.
For Barone, 32, and Ginoble, 31, that will mean another chance to lace up their running shoes and explore. The singers reveal over a recent Zoom interview with USA TODAY that when they visit New York, a Central Park run is a must. The trio will play the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden Nov. 17, so hopefully they pack their cold-weather gear. Barone ran the TCS New York City Marathon in 2023 and calls it “the best experience of my life.”
“We are used to emotional feelings on stage,” Barone says, noting it’s a privilege to have that experience with their audience. “But the feelings of the marathon, it’s something that I suggest to all my closest friends because it’s something you will never forget in your life.”
You could call Il Volo’s journey a marathon in its own right, although the group’s name translates to “the flight.” The singers met as teenagers in 2009 while competing on the Italian TV show “Ti Lascio una Canzone” (“Leavin’ You a Song” in English). They signed to Geffen Records shortly after and released their self-titled debut album internationally in 2011.
In 2015, the trio represented Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest, placing third but earned the top vote from both the accredited press at the event and the telephone fan vote. Since inception, the group has toured every continent and racked up hundreds of millions of Spotify streams.
As far as the extended North American tour, Boschetto, 31, teases that the group “loves Christmas,” and with the additional dates near the holidays, that will change the setlist.
“Most of our repertoire is inspired by The Three Tenors,” Ginoble adds, referencing the trio of Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and José Carreras. “So that’s our goal, especially in the States and all around the world, to keep bringing bel canto (beautiful singing) to those people who used to listen to it and lived ‘The Three Tenors’ and (Andrea) Bocelli, but of course to the new generation.”
Yesterday, April 9th, Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero were with you and will participated in the Today Show!!
They sang the theme song from The Gladiator – Nelle Tue Mani. What a powerful performance it was! 🎤🎵🎶
Here’s the Today Show video.

Furthermore, for the last episode of the program SUPERNOVA hosted by Alessandro Cattelan, a funny interview was aired, recorded before the departure of the South American tour. (Turn on subtitles.)

And finally….
Before the World Tour kicked off, I told you that several articles had been written announcing the tour. I’ve already shared some of them with you, but there was one that really caught my attention. I told you I’d translate it later because it deserved the attention for the depth of the words reported. It was written by Progetto Radici.
Radici (with its website Progetto Radici.it), “The newspaper of Italians from around the world,” is an independent newspaper founded in 2018, which offers daily in-depth journalistic columns on cultural events affecting Italy and Italian communities around the world.
Il Volo World Tour 2026: Italian music around the world

Il Volo on a world tour: the Italian voice that crosses continents

Il Volo World Tour 2026: a journey through community and roots

Italian music continues to speak to the world through one of the most recognizable bands of recent years.
Il Volo’s 2026 World Tour will kick off outside Italy, with an international schedule that will visit Latin America, the United States, and Europe before focusing on Italy.

This is no coincidence: starting abroad means immediately encountering Italian communities living far from the peninsula, transforming every concert into a moment of collective belonging. Not just musical performances, but true cultural gatherings where language, emotion, and shared memory take center stage.

Latin America: the heart of the Italian diaspora
March 2026 will see the trio perform in Latin America, an area with a historically strong presence of Italians and their descendants.
Here, the concert takes on a value that goes beyond music: it’s a call to one’s origins, a way to feel close to one’s homeland through songs.
Each stop represents a different story of Italian emigration, made up of generations who have kept alive the bond with their culture of origin.
United States: A Meeting of Tradition and New Generations

In April and early May 2026, the tour will continue in the United States, another key territory for Italy’s global presence. The audience here will consist not only of long-time emigrants, but also of young professionals, students, and second-generation Italians who often rediscover the Italian language and music through artists like Il Volo.
In these cities, the concert often becomes a family event, where several generations meet under the same melodies.
Europe: Summer 2026 and a Look to 2027
After the American leg, the tour will arrive in Europe. A highly anticipated summer date has already been confirmed:
These European stops strengthen the bond with the Italian communities living on the continent, offering a meeting opportunity that combines language, music, and a sense of belonging.
Beyond Music: Identity and Cultural Continuity
Il Volo’s 2026 World Tour confirms how Italian music continues to play a central role in the lives of Italians abroad. Each concert becomes a small, symbolic return home, a moment when geographical distance and cultural differences fade.
It’s not just a show: it’s a collective celebration of identity, memory, and continuity. Different stories meet in the audience, yet united by the same musical language, capable of crossing borders and generations without losing its essence.
How exciting to see the November dates released!!!
The tour is definitely turning into a long journey around the world!!
Please don’t buy tickets from unofficial sites, and don’t be fooled by the sweet talk of fake Piero, Ignazio, and Gianluca.
See you soon: Daniela 🤗

  1. Thank u again for interesting post.
They are working hard again but loving it.
    Bravi Ragazzi.

    1. Fenella, have you seen it? They’re coming to London!!! It’ll be a long wait, but they’re coming! It’s already confirmed!

      1. Hi, Daniela

        Can’t believe it.

        Amazing,.🙏

        It’s a shame it’s only one night, but I mustn’t complain.
2027 seems long way off. But something to look forward to.
        Thank u Daniela.
        Lots of love

I completely agree with your analysis, Luz.
They demonstrate a sense of brotherly love and sincerity every time. There are no filters; they are just as they appear. I’m just sorry that certain attitudes between Ignazio and Gianluca are misinterpreted, because in reality they only aim to make people smile.
      Hugs from Brescia!

  3. This is awesome. Can’t wait to see them in the U.S. I have loved them for the past 15 years. Wish they could stay longer. They are the BEST!!!

  4. Thank you Daniela and Pat.
So happy to learn they’re coming to Florida in November. I also enjoyed watching the Supernova interview. I had the conversations auto translated to English. It is so great seeing three handsome guys offering their individual excellent ideas and answers. More power to them!! Their voice harmony is just amazing!
We also get to peek further on their true thoughts/feelings outside of concerts. Gianluca just has a way of explaining his profound ideas along with his philosophy. Unlike in concerts where Ignazio and Piero do most of the talking, Gianluca is highly animated in this interview. He has also remained elegantly calm despite several barbs thrown his way.

Well as I expected, but greatly disappointed that Ignazio did not lose a chance to throw barbs at Gianluca, JOKINGLY or not. He hounded (over x times) on the idea that Gianluca should be paid less because he is only a baritone and works less than the tenors do. I think Ignazio’s point here purely lacks merit. Further, he blows up, make faces and focus on what’s wrong with Gianluca. I’m sad Ignazio still appear to carry the same toxic feelings during his teens when he claimed others won (not him) in singing contests because judges have been paid (true or not) by every winner’s parents. I am also concerned that if this is not addressed by management, it will eventually affect the group’s continuity. Is there something that will satisfy Ignazio? All of them are great singers, though I obviously gravitate towards Gianluca.
Fan clubs tend to ignore this issue too. Now I’ve said it.

    1. Well done Annie!! – I feel Ignazio probably does not understand he is upsetting the fans more than Gianluca – Gianluca is a very wise young man & by not reacting to Ignazio’s comments – he has won!! – much love.

      1. Jude, I have to tell you off too. I admit, I too had a distorted view of their “talk” at first, but once I heard from someone who’s very, very close to Gianluca, who told me they love each other very much, all my doubts disappeared. Please, do the same!

    2. Annie, things between Ignazio and Gianluca aren’t exactly what you think.
I can assure you from sources very close to our guys that Ignazio and Gianluca are very fond of each other. Maybe it’s hard for you foreigners to understand Ignazio’s irony; it’s clear they’re all jokes meant to be funny. I admit he sometimes goes overboard, but there’s a tacit understanding between him and Gianluca: one has to be the pain in the ass and the other the one who takes the hit, but there’s a lot of respect and affection between them!
You fans, on the other hand, should try not to create problems where they don’t exist, because fake news is just waiting for them!

      1. Daniela you are so right.

        The guys love each other.
If they didn’t get on, it wouldn’t work for them.
Why shouldn’t they joke and have fun.

        I love them.
It would be great to travel with them, and always be smiling.

It’s always rubbish that people say, and others believe.
I am always laughing at the fun, it brightens my day.
Never take notice of fake and stupid people.

        Thank you
        Daniela

        Lots of love
        Fenella xx

      2. Thank you and I would hope so. Nothing would please me if they stay together because to me their harmony is just out of this world. In some cultures, if something is gnawing at you inside but can’t say it frankly, you use jokes to hammer the point in a derisive manner. It’s not only me but other fans and non-fans too, that have noticed Igna’s jokes. As a matter of fact my grandkids were the first to notice. (I bombard them with you tube views on Il Volo!)

I really don’t know each of them personally and can only glean from their words and actions during concerts and interviews. I will continue to follow, watch them on tv and in concerts (yay Nov 12!!!) and take Ignazio’s barbs at Gianluca good naturedly. Gianluca responds to them splendidly anyway.

I apologize if I upset anyone by bringing this up. I had to get it out of my system.

        Thank you again Daniela.

      3. Daniela, thank you for all the translations you do. I enjoyed the interview, but believe a lot of the tone is lost in translation, especially of conversations.
Do you know if any of the boys have a site on Facebook? When I first started following them (just a little over a year ago) I did go on some FB pages that, within a very short time, were obviously fake, and have stayed off them since then. There are a couple, though, that sound like they may be authentic. I am reluctant to follow them without knowing the truth. I know Ignazio has said that he does not go on FB, but what about the other 2?
There is also a lot of garbage on Youtube, especially about Gianluca. Currently he is supposedly married to Claudia (with a photo of someone else), has a child, is expecting a child, is gay, is in a gay marriage. There are also suggestive photos of him. I feel sorry that he is the subject of so much unkind gossip. There is not nearly as much about the other 2, although there are statements that Piero is secretly married with a child (with photos to support it.)
Thank you for reminding us that there are fakes trying to cash in on Il Volo’s popularity.

  5. Thanks a million for sharing these latest news from the guys pre-stay in the US keeping busy with PR activities. So glad that the TV-stations are granting them times.
Personally, I’m all upset as I cannot figure out to get English (or Danish) subtitles on the Supernova interview – no matter what I try I can only get Italian auto-translation, but I don’t understand a word Italian – so can anyone help me out here? I’m lost with all techniques so I need a thorough instruction. Thanks a million. And to all my American fellow-fans – coming next week enjoy, enjoy our guys.

    Love – Kirsten, Denmark

    1. Dear Kirsten, I’ve struggled with this before, but I found that it takes more clicks – four in total (and you have to ignore the author’s automatically set subtitles). First, click on the “settings wheel”. Then on “Subtitles” and then on “Automatic translation”. And only now can you choose the subtitle language. Unfortunately, not all videos offer this advanced option, but here it is possible to set it.

    2. I was having trouble getting an English translation on my iPhone and iPad. It wasn’t one of the language choices! 😯 It worked on my desktop computer. But then, when I tried again on my phone it worked! Keep trying!Technology, it’s wonderful………..when it works correctly! 🤣

    3. Dear Kirsten, I hope you were able to understand the SUPERNOVA interview. Obviously, there’s nothing new, it’s just a slightly more informal interview than usual, slightly “out of the box” and a little more fun.

  6. I have trouble getting subtitles for the supernova show too. I know I have said this before but I see all this stuff with Piero having a baby and Gianluca supposedly getting married. I know you told me to believe what you have written.

    1. Linda, I too read fake news every day about Piero, Gianluca, and even Ignazio being at the end of their lives. They’re all FALSE, don’t worry, only trust the serious sites!!

      1. Thank you. What about the new English mix songs? Is that them singing and it’s a new album from them? I love the new song mixes ,but is it Il volo?

  7. To watch the Supernova interview, I went on YouTube on my tv set. Just what Iva did, I paused it then went on the SETTINGS wheel. I then clicked on the Captions to turn it on. This will give you a drop down menu and I chose AUTO-TRANSLATE, which gives you another drop down menu, for the language of your choice. I clicked on English. Hope this helps.

  8. Liebe Daniela,
