And so, Il Volo has reached the final scheduled outdoor concert in Italy and Europe.
This concert was a last-minute addition and is truly special, as it took place during the “Pordenone legge” event in the presence of Italy’s highest-ranking official: the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella.
The concert was held at the Teatro Verdi in Pordenone (located in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of northern Italy). Large screen outside the theater allowed others to watch the concert as well.
The concert began with the Italian national anthem.
At the beginning of the video, you will hear the national anthem performed by Il Volo, opening the evening dedicated to the closing of the Pordenonelegge festival, followed by various speeches, including one by the President. I chose to include this video, even though Il Volo appears only at the start, because it was the only one on YouTube featuring the complete anthem.
The speeches are all excellent and important; those who wish to do so can turn on the subtitles to read them.

And so, the 2026 outdoor tour chapter concludes with this magnificent official event.
Il Volo is truly at the top of their game!
Just the day before this important concert, the BYD Music Awards ceremony took place in Verona, and Il Volo received an award from Assoconcerti.
Il Volo performed only one song, “Nelle tue mani”; here are several videos from Facebook and YouTube. (Some people may not be able to view the first video from RAI.)
At the end of the performance, Il Volo received a standing ovation that moved the three guys, because it is not easy to achieve such success with a *bel canto* piece in a setting dominated by pop, rap, and trap music.

AssoConcerti honors three young artists who continue to showcase Italian talent on stages across every continent.’”
On the evening of September 22nd, Canale 5 aired the game show *La Ruota della Fortuna* (Wheel of Fortune). Within the competition, there is a segment called *La Ruota delle Stelle* (Wheel of the Stars), featuring contestants who are stars from the worlds of film, theater, and music. For this special *Ruota delle Stelle* episode, the competitors facing off were Gianluca, Ignazio, and Piero, Il Volo!
The show had been recorded the previous week, and the prize money won in the competition is donated to charity.
I haven’t found a video of the full episode, but I am sharing a few short clips with you here.
It was a really fun, lighthearted moment; our guys were—as always—polite, personable, and engaging.
In the end, they won 30,000 euros, which will be donated to the Quattro Ottavi Youth Orchestra.

“The Wheel of Champions and Stars”: Il Volo’s charity game
The singing trio had the chance to play “The Wheel of Wonders” and win up to 300,000 euros.
Il Volo won €30,000 on “La Ruota dei Campioni… e delle Stelle” (“The Wheel of Champions… and Stars”), a special prime-time episode of “La Ruota della Fortuna” (“Wheel of Fortune”) hosted by Gerry Scotti on Canale 5. Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble tested their skills on the famous game show’s puzzle boards, playing for charity.
Throughout the evening, the three singers competed in several rounds dedicated to them, alternating with the nine champions who had returned to the studio after distinguishing themselves in the program’s regular episodes. Their journey led them to the final “Wheel of Wonders” game, where they could win up to 300,000 euros.
Il Volo at the “Wheel of Wonders”: In the final game, Il Volo managed to find only the last of the three solutions. This answer allowed the trio to claim the envelope associated with the solved puzzle board, which contained 20,000 euros. After the round, Gerry Scotti opened the other two envelopes, those linked to the solutions the singers had failed to guess. The first contained 30,000 euros, while the second held the biggest prize: 150,000 euros. The 20,000 euros won at the “Wheel of Wonders” were added to the 10,000 euros secured during the earlier rounds, bringing Il Volo’s total winnings for the evening to 30,000 euros.
Who receives the €30,000? The funds will be donated via Mediafriends to the Quattro Ottavi Youth Orchestra, a social project supported by the philanthropic arm of Mediaset, Medusa, and Mondadori. The initiative is aimed specifically at young people from economically disadvantaged families or those living in isolation, with the goal of combating youth hardship and the risk of marginalization through educational and social inclusion programs.

So I’m happy they managed to sum up a nice amount in this respect. Not understanding Italian – who was the “smart” Il Volo guy, who figured out the right reply? Or did they collaborate to find same? Anyhow, so well done – and apparently they do all seem to have had fun participating too.
And now 3 challenging concerts in Mantova have been conquered and, hopefully, the guys can have some well deserved rest before crossing the Atlantic again to continue their World Tour. Something unexpectedly does, however, always seem to pop up keeping them busy, busy… Did just learn that coming November, they are going to release a new Christmas Album – how on Earth have they had time to squeeze in rehearsals and production of such one this year with that tight schedule of theirs? I don’t know where they get the strength and energy – but I know I look forward to hearing it and I am excited to learn what songs they have chosen to perform on same.

Dear Kirsten, I too am delighted with the recognition Il Volo has received—especially from the public; I believe people have realized that their high level of professionalism is the real deal, and they also come across as charming, altruistic, and well-mannered.
They stood out from the crowd at the BYD Awards, yet I read some rather dismissive reviews from a certain segment of the press that seems to think rap and trap represent the pinnacle of vocal music!
That said, I must admit that many journalists have changed their tune and are writing truly wonderful, proud things about them. Ultimately, though, the real gift our guys receive comes from the audience: in the clips released by RAI, Il Volo’s segment garnered more than double the positive response of any other singer—even those who might have taken home multiple awards that night.
Ignazio found the final solution to the game; he did a great job figuring out the meaning of the phrase!
So glad to learn Daniela. And yes – ultimatively, the most important praises and recognitions are those given by the public/audiences – and they seem to be truly great these days :-). Unfortunately, RAP and talentless performances are the games of the day. We are presently watching the British version of the Simon Covel Show “Britain’s got talent” and in the last show there was a group of some 8-9 singers doing a fantastic a capella/barbershop tune that demanded full control of voice, tempi and musical skills that ought to have blown everyone backwards. They were soooo great – but one of the new judges (don’t know him) gave them a no because it “wasn’t his cup of tea” – the following act was a guy who could hardly get a tune out of a saxophone but apparently was one he knew, so albeit the two lady judges had given him a no, Simon let the two presenters have a say too and he was allowed to continue on. Geez. I cannot avoid getting upset as apparently good voices, musical skills and perfection are no longer what counts…. Anyhow, so glad to learn that the Il Volo segment gathered more than double the positive response of any other singer. Kudos!

You’re right, Kirsten; unfortunately, many people who set themselves up as judges for singing competitions simply aren’t up to the task. It happens here in Italy, too—real music is losing much of its substance, and talented singers are often left deeply disappointed. Singers with no talent but the right “image” get pushed to the forefront—what we call the “bad boy” look—showing off tattooed bodies while singing out of tune, often with lyrics full of profanity. Yet our children applaud because the radio stations tell them these acts are the best. It’s awful. 😫😝
To give you an example: after Il Volo’s performance on the show, one newspaper gave them a poor rating, claiming they were dressed like old men—elegance is no longer understood—and that they were out of step with the times. So, I decided to check the audience response on the short clips RAI1 posted for the various singers. Here are the figures for Il Volo: 70,000 votes of approval, 3,500 comments, and 4,500 shares. The next best-performing singer had 28,000 votes, 1,800 comments, and 1,500 shares… there really is no comparison!😉🤩
