    1. OMGosh Linda, I love “Il Mondo” too! Especially the way the guys sang it at the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize concert! I am not going to respond to any more votes! I promise – I have to start deciding on my vote – it may be days before I can come up with one song as my very favorite!

  1. Hello Ann! So nice to see you here! I love “Un Amore Cosi Grande” too! Il Volo’s performance of it in Verona – WOW! A beautiful love song always makes a girl cry! Especially when three handsome Italian guys are singing it!

I am not ready to cast my vote yet though! Still deciding which one of all my favorites is — THE one!

  2. I was listening to their special edition CD on my way to my patient’s house this morning. I think it is a good mix of their “flavor” if you will, and I still gotta say, “I Bring You to My Senses” is my absolute favorite. So sweet, romantic and sensual all at once.

  3. We have 3 votes cast – 1 for “Un Amore Cosi Grande” 1 for “Il Mondo” and 1 for “I Bring You to My Senses”! Thanks for voting – let’s keep it going! The votes are coming in fast – so now it’s time for our certified accountant to take over the counting!!! Oh, I can’t help myself – Kelly – I love “I Bring You to My Senses” too! There is no hope of me choosing a favorite!

  4. Man how am I supposed to decide that? If I mention one then another pops up that I have to choose. I am going to say Little Things but I might change again later.to Il Mondo that was the first song I heard on the first CD I bought & I couldn’t stop crying. Oohh I LOVE Angel also & Little Things, how can I decide?

  5. Definitely Hasta El Finale tied with EL Triste tied with O Solo Mio tied with Musica Prohibita which ties with Surrender which ties with We are Love –But truly numero uno is Hasta El Finale

  6. Oh man that’s a tough. One. How do. You pick.I’m gong to say we are love followed by painfully beautiful followed by il Monro.love them all tho.

  7. I love the way Gianluca hums at the beginning of Esplendida. Then there are Tous les Visages d’Amour and El Triste and Angel. I think my number 1 is El Triste though.

  8. I might be alone in thinking this, but I think El Triste is their best performance to date; and considering how amazing they are, that says a lot. It was simply magic.

  9. Tough question – it is a toss up for me between Un Amore Cosi Grande and Non Farmi Aspettare, I’m going back and forth between the two. They’re brilliant no matter what they sing.

  10. This is really hard!!!!! I guess I will have to start by narrowing it down. Ugh!!!!!

  11. Without a doubt…Un Amore Cosi Grande. The strength of those voices (not to mention Ignazio’s major note) still makes my blood rush. I’m sure I’ll get over that after listening a few thousand more times.

  12. Ok, since I have to pick one which is almost impossible I went to watch some of the videos on YouTube and I will pick…Bring You To My Senses. Gianluca’s movements and expressions make my heart go thump thump💓But…..We Are Love, Beautiful Day, Il Mondo and Surrender are my favorite 😀

  13. You want me to choose? Ti Voglio Tanto bene, Il Canto, Musica Proibita, We Are Love, I do prefer to hear Il Volo sing in Italian as I think their passion for their music comes through more when they sing in their own language and I love their own original songs, although I also prefer their treatment of the covers they do to the original artists, especially Questo Amore, Beautiful Day and Little Things. So, I think I just took a paragraph when the answer was really easy – ALL of them!

      1. I don’t know Marie. When I heard it the first time on the PBS special and realized that that massive voice, emotion and joy at singing were coming from a 16-year old, I was gob-smacked (British for blown-away) and I haven’t been the same since!

  14. Every time I get ready to type a song as my favorite, another pops into my head! I guess that my top 3 favorites are Il Mondo, Hasta el Final and El Triste. Eeny,meeny…..Okay….Drum roll…..IL MONDO!!!!!
Hey, I take this thing seriously.

  15. Please take my advice, do not try to do anything when listening to the Il Volo DVD’s or CD’s. I have been trying to get through chopping vegetables for my soup & can’t see for tears in my eyes & finally when they sang Angel I broke down completely & still haven’t stopped. Marie I will be bringing my own Kleenex one box isn’t enough for both of us. I can hardly see to type.
Jeannie I’m with you I like all of them although I did pick Il Mondo so I’ll stay with that just because I finally decided on that song.
Back to my soup & CD, here’s goes nothing..

    1. Loretta, my Mom burned her potatoes while listening to Il Canto! She votes for Il Canto – that is her favorite song!

  16. Michele, tough job but you may want to divide by season or tour.
Tour from fall of 2011 to fall of 2012 (including Streisand) and then the current tour. Or maybe by album i.e. – song from “Takes Flight” (including the add-ons in special edition) and then from “We are Love”
plus the special edition add-ons. Now, of course the tours have some songs that do not get recorded (so far) – Memories; Gianluca’s “Maria” the early stand-alone solos; This year they will add “El Triste” to the tour plus some stand-alone solos.
    tough job.

  17. Myron – Thank you for the thoughtful suggestions! We discussed even saying pick a favorite song in Italian, Spanish and one in English, yet rejected that idea. Why? Because even that is difficult – the question is “What is your FAVORITE Il Volo Song?” That means favorite of all!

For people that can’t choose just one – I am going to suggest a couple more choices “all of them” as someone has already voted and “I love too many to choose just one.” We could get complicated and say vote for your favorite top 3 songs since everyone is having a hard time choosing just one! Will discuss further with our official vote counter and get back to you all. Everyone carry on as you have been – results are amazing!

    1. I would have to say that from last season it is Smile (on their own – not with Streisand – I liked this version but theirs was better). This season it is a tie – so far – between Il Canto and Torna a Surriento (Surrender).
I remember singing that song on a recital when I was in college 100 years ago. Loved then and love it now and the Elvis version is also nice and sensual .

  18. My favorite Il Volo song off of their first cd would have to be Il Mondo! I loved it from the start and will always love it until the end. From their new cd, We Are Love, my favorite song is Little Things <3 🙂

  19. I just watched “Il Volo Takes Flight” – I am in awe every time I watch this classic production. The orchestra is superb, the Detroit Opera House is magnificent and the performances of Ignazio, Gianluca and Piero are outstanding, especially when you consider they are 16, 17 and 18 years old. They deliver every song with amazing confidence and grace. The show starts with a really strong “Il Mondo” – I love their performance of “Il Mondo” at the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize too! Yet, I am still not ready to cast my vote!

    1. Michele…..You certainly said the right word…”classic”. The whole performance at the Detroit Opera House was good beyond description. As far as I’m concerned, The Boys will forever have a hard time topping that DVD! As you said, they were so YOUNG and yet so professional.

And look at them now! Our boys are flying higher than ever!

As for Il Mondo, they were perfection when they sang it at the Nobel Peace Prize concert. I have never heard them sing it better

  20. El Triste (the way they sang it on the tribute show) and Il Mondo, but I could go on and on. They are all my favorites!!

  21. But Michele, ‘mfazzara’ (since your still deciding) what about Un Amore Cosi Grande at the Arena Di Verona? huh? You know you love it!

Or Ti Voglio Tanto Bene (sigh) at the Detroit Opera House?

  22. Marie – I love the Verona performance of “Un Amore Cosi Grande” and “Te Voglio Tanto Bene” from the Opera House! I do love those songs and that is precisely why I am not voting yet! I love I Canto from the Fillmore and Splendida and on and on, and on and on!

  23. HI Y’all. I am so glad to see some new names on here. Glad y’all could join the Flight Crew!
I just have to categorize my favorite songs by language. My favorite English song is I BRING YOU TO MY SENSES. My favorite Italian song is UN AMORE COSI GRANDE. My favorite Spanish song is LA HISTORIA DE UN AMOR, although I do love HASTA EL FINAL, especially the way they performed it on that Mexican TV show when Gianluca made love to the camera with his facial expressions.
Michele A., you can’t wait until everybody votes to choose yours. You just have to pick, as hard as that is.

This is a good topic. Thanks to all of you on the board for keeping the site interesting & innovative.

    1. Hello everyone. I am new to these types of Blogs or sites. This is such a nice site! I can tell by your comments that you all Love IL Volo and it seems as though Marie loves Ignazio,(whats not to love)? Aren’t they the best thing to come from Italy since Pasta? Anyway Lynngbal4’s comment on Hasta El Final video “when Gianluca made love to the camera with his facial expressions” almost had me on the floor laughing. So right! that must be why I love that video so much, he’s making those sexy faces = Oh my God that guy! (How about his wink on the WE ARE lOVE Video? the guy knows how to work the camera! Back to Hasta El Final, the “official video” that Lynn is talking about all 3 of their vocals were soooo astonishing. They are just the BEST. Nice to “meet” you all.

  24. I like very much “This Time”, Gianluca is fabulous in this song, but they have not sing it lately. What a pity!!! I like Splendida e Non farmi aspettare. Gianluca and Ignazio are super in this song.

  25. Hi everyone–it is so good to see how many new people there are! We are doing good! (well!)
It is very difficult to pick ONE. I love too many! Il Mondo, El Triste, Il Canto, La Luna Hizo Esto, Tous Les Visages De L’amour, etc. etc. etc.

  26. Loving the participation here, and the diversity of not only the songs, but how everyone arrived at those conclusions. 🙂

  27. Welcome to all the newcomers to the blog! Love all your comments and hope to hear more from you.
The Board really is hitting on great topics for us to discuss and also have fun with, and I’d like ti give thanks and hugs to every one of you!

  28. Oh, this is so not fair. I planned on going to bed early, and now you’ve got me listening to song after song. And every song I listen to becomes “the best”! Ack!

    So I watched on YouTube
IL VOLO – Hasta El Final – en Sabado Gigante
Oh, geez, you guys are right. Gianluca is incredible (AND he has his wonderful curly hair! : ) Ignazio has the power and magnificence and smiling cheeks. And the words to this song are my favorite, at least until We Are Love and I Bring You to My Senses came along!

And then I remembered listening to Luna Nascosta when it first came out. I was driving in the countryside to visit a friend, singing it over and over with the boys. That day I remembered Divine Grace angels saying that the human voice would lift the veil of fear off this planet, and I thought, “I get it!” I experienced it on a cellular level that day. Wow!
Now when I hear Surrender (Torna a Surriento), I think of the adorable skit the boys did on the Kris Jenner show. It brings such a smile to my face and a sizzle to my heart!

Historia de un Amor and Non Farmi Aspettare capture my heart, and I always want to move when I hear these.

I agree about IL Mondo, especially at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. I actually think that particular night it even out-shown We Are Love! I love how IL Mondo builds and builds. And then there’s Ignazio’s powerhouse of love! Un Amore Cosi’ Grande is my other favorite of favorites from their IL VOLO album. I loved when they sang it on Americana.

Oh, my gosh, the power, tension, pathos of El Triste!

I listened to Mi Vida again. If they had recorded it this year, I suspect it would be in the running for first. It’s magnificent as it is, and yet, knowing how their voices have refined since then, it would be even more glorious if recorded now.

Finally, I decided, even though my chosen song is only my favorite for this vote! The real truth is that whichever song I’m listening to in the present moment is my fav!
I’m casting my VOTE for the MAS QUE AMOR video! I love “We Are Love”, and I love when they sing in Italian (I’ll accept Spanish for this one). On this video, their faces and hearts are so full of life and love, their eyes shining so brightly, along with the magnificence of their harmony, Piero’s rich power, Ignazio’s soulful notes, and Gianluca’s silky tones, even dropping into a slightly lower register. (not near as low as in Magnificat!)

My friend Lisa, who crossed over on 11-27-2012, turns my phone on from the other side and plays Questo Amore.
Any chance I can enter Questo Amore for Lisa’s vote?? ^_^

Whew! Great question, but brutal coming up with an answer! Thanks for making this site so fun, Flight Crew!

  29. As so many of you have said, it is almost impossible to choose ONE favorite. Among my finalists are Il Mondo, Questo Amore, Un Amore Cosi Grande, Non Farmi Aspettare, E La Mia Vita…all these songs enter directly into my soul! How can I choose?? And we must not forget Nazio’s amazing solo last year – Tu Che M’hai Preso Il Cuore – which is not all of Il Volo singing together, but is certainly worth plenty of appreciation!

  30. I shouldn’t have agree with the other Board members to post this topic. It certainly is challenging to only pick ONE song!

Il Mondo – the song that made me fall in love with our guys,
Un Amore Cosi Grande – crying is an understatement,
O Sole Mio – our guys’s signature song and lovely rearrangement of a classic,
Hasta El Final – it moves me everytime,
Splendida – the humming at the beginning and lovely melody through out the whole song,
We Are Love – how can we not love the message,

My other favorite include E Piu Ti Penso, This Time, Painfully Beautiful, El Reloj, Per Te, Non Farmi Aspettare, L’Ultima Volta, Maria(both special edition and Gianluca’s solo)…

AND my final pick is I Bring You To My Senses…because this is the one that is in my head and my heart…for those few nights that I can’t fall asleep, and I know I am in love because reality is finally better than my dreams! Their voices, music are in my heart, my body, my soul. Thanks for this thrilling, unforgettable, out of this world experience and memories. I love you all, guys!!!

    1. Elaine, I love what you wrote… the last paragraph especially!

      Happiness to you!
      ~ Jeanine DuBois, Compassion’s Doorway

  31. Ah Elaine, that was lovely! I so agree with your list. It was hard for me not to choose O Sole Mio, I felt guilty!
In the Sabado video, Hasta El Final, the audience claps real hard about half way through. I always say, “that aint nothin’ just wait a few minutes!” Then the boys really sell it! Can I change my vote? Nope, Un Amore Cosi Grande, forever!

  32. Love them all, but have to say “Little Things” because of the lyrics. 💞

  33. Good grief! Can’t we just do 1, 1a, 1b, etc we could go through a few alphabets we’d still only have ‘ONE’!!!

    1. I agree with Marti! Or how about, what is your favorite song beginning with the letter A? Then B, C etc! That would make it a lot easier!

  34. Gianluca’s wink on the video is almost too much to take standing up (or sitting down And I would like to have a talk with Soonie about his hair…just let it be curly, please. As to my favorite song–you know by now how impossible that is. Have to say that I love the sound of their singing in Italian–don’t care what they are saying. I love Un Amore Cosi Grande and Il Mondo, but I have to cast my vote for El Triste….so dramatic and really showcases their voices. Now, a word to Piero: I know I’ve been going on and on about Gianluca and Ignazio lately, but remember, YOU have my heart!!

    1. I have been looking for that video–with GG making love to the camera and winking at the end. Can someone please be more specific–give the year and or the place etc so I can find it. Or send me a link on my email–puleeze!
      penina.honig@rogers.com Thanks!!

      1. Penina: Go to You Tube and type in Il Volo – Hasta el Final en Sabedo Gigante and that should do it, I don’t think Gian winks in this one, but, oh! Does he ever love the camera and do I ever love him! Enjoy!!!!

      2. We all love Gianluca’s curls! It’s one of the reasons why I like the old videos! However, both Piero and Ignazio look a lot better in the newer ones!
Decisions, decisions! Thank God Ignazio’s dimples never change!

      3. If you put “IL VOLO – Hasta El Final – en Sabado Gigante” in the you tube search, you should find it. But Gian doesn’t wink at the end of this video. I think the winking in on the Mas Que Amor video.

  35. Mary, I think we ought to take Soonie’s scissors away from her. She manicures their hair too much in my opinion. Gianluca looks like a hot Italian with his curls. And I loved Piero’s hair a little mussed up like it was in that picture of him lounging in a pool or hot tub-sizzling!!

I hope you know, Mary, that you have to share Piero with me & somebody else (sorry, I forgot who else said they love Piero), but we will all take our places behind Elizabeth, who is younger & has a better chance with him. Ah, Youth!!

    1. Lynn……Couldn’t agree with you more….Let’s kidnap Soonie . I just wish she wouldn’t clip the sides so short on all of them. And I DO love those Gian curls! Hey! Maybe the styles for young men have changed in the last 2 months. Hope springs eternal!!! (Don’t you just love that I know every cliche in the book, and use them constantly!)
We have those gorgeous voices no matter what. That’s all that REALLY matters!

    2. i think it’s so wild that everyone even knows the name of their hairdresser (soonie)! I saw a post in a thread on you tube where the girl says the Gianluca’s looks are typical in Italy and that she loves italian men and she even got a crush on her tour bus driver. It must have been wonderful for her to have been in Italy, I’ve never been, but I would have liked to correct her to say that no, honey, the mold was broken when Gianluca was made, he is not typical. How about those photos of him where he is like only 12 or 14? That dark curly hair and those humongous eyes, and the baby photo where he is pursing his lips, he was a beautifuly baby, a beautiful boy and will be a beautiful MAN.
the mold was broken when he was born, I’m sorry, that’s my opinion. I do love the other 2 as well, I think they are sexy, funny, great voices too. Gian’s mom and dad are such attractive people, it’s in the genes!

      1. Christine…I think you would appreciate a quote that I saw from a fan on “Comments” on You Tube:
“God was in a good mood on the day He created Gianluca”.
        Amen to that!

  36. Hi everyone,
Wonderful reading all of the choices and the powerful feelings behind them! My vote is for I Bring You To My Senses. I first heard a snippet of this song on iTunes while awaiting the CD to become available. I was mesmerized and felt such a ripple of emotions as this song evokes so many thoughts and feelings. But, I also must say I would vote for every song these darling boys sing! It does not get any better than IL VOLO!!!

  37. How about we send a twitter to @brunoandsoonie and ask her do not smoothing out his hair. We love his curly. Do you think I am a little crazy?

    1. Josie, yeah, we are all a little crazy when it comes our italian guys! I just hope Piero doesn’t want his hair done like that friend of his back home. It was sticking up worse than Bart Simpson!

      1. The problem is we don’t know what the boys tell her to do! Maybe (shudder!) they like it that way!

  38. Penina I think they like it. Gianluca said he spends 20 minutes to do his hair. I know It was a bad idea.

lynngbal4 I saw that picture of Piero, You are right. That´s awful hair.

    1. I think Gianluca doesn’t like his curls–they make him look younger. I for one can do without those pompadours! I love Ignazio’s hair the way it was–just a tad shorter–no bangs. Heck, I just love him no matter what he looks like!

  39. I have to get in my vote – everything they do in Italian! Some solos – Piero singing “Piove” and “Mama”, Ignazio with “Ti Voglio Tanto Bene”, and Gianluca with “Maria”. So there!

  40. I guess if I have to pick my favorite Il Volo song (and actually they all are) I would say “Splendida” followed closely by “El Triste”, “Angel”, “I Bring You to My Senses”, etc. etc. etc.

I see I have to share my Piero with several of you. Elizabeth and Mary and maybe more of you. His voice just sends me to cloud 9. Of course, Gianlucca and Ignazio have perfect voices, too. In other words, I love them all!

    1. Allene, so it’s you who loves Piero, too. I just hope Mary doesn’t “hug the stuffing” out of him when she meets him after the concert. She’s got to leave some of him for the rest of us. I love all their voices, but Piero’s voice just reaches into my heart & squeezes it, no matter what song it is he is singing.

  41. Hi everyone! I’m Elaine’s daughter, Isabel. My favorite Il Volo song is We Are Love- I have to listen to it every time in the car! We were lucky enough to attend the Miami filming of the concert back in March, I’ve been hooked on it since.
