Penina’s in Hot Soup

Hey Crew,  Penina came up with a fun game.  Let’s play!  ~Marie      abc

Hi Ladies (and Gent 🙂 )
Alphabet Soup
We have a game for you to help chase away the blahs until the boys come back.
We are calling it the “Adjective” Game. We all know our guys are delicious, delectable and delovely, among other things. The first person to respond to this game choses an adjective (or more than one) that starts with the letter “A” to describe the guys. Second one has to pick one or more that start with “B, “ and so on. When we get to Z we will have a cool list to describe Il Volo—maybe we can work it into a card and send it to them! So get our your dictionaries and join in the fun!
P.S. It does not matter if two words mean the same thing but start with a different letter—perfectly okay to use for example, amusing and funny.
I’m starting off with the obvious: “A” they’re ADORABLE, Amazing, Attractive, Approachable, Amusing, and Artistic!
B anyone?       ~Penina

  1. I’ll do “B”: Beautiful, buffed, brilliant, bright, beloved, brave (he did let ME get close enough to kiss his dimple. That’s brave!) Thanks Penina, what fun! Who has “C”?

  2. OH MY! What good words! Won’t be able to watch this game without a cold shower. Penina, I didn’t think of the hot part! All I thought was that it would be fun! Should have known!

  3. I’m glad you used “humble” Gerri, an important word to them!
Fantastic! Gorgeous! Heavenly handsome! Yes, Yes, Yes!

However, we need to find words for Piero and Gianluca too!

  4. Digression.. Piero Barone Ognibene , Ignazio Boschetto Licardi and Gianluca Ginoble Castorani Does anyone know where these other names came from? I haven’t seen them anywhere I have looked.

    1. I think is the surname of their mothers. The spanish usually put the mother’s surname at the end of the name. I have seen these names only in Il Volo Mundial facebook, but in Italy the final surname is of the father.

    1. You’re right. And wait til we get to X. We will make up a few new ones for sure!

  5. First I will answer Lijoy. The only name of those three that I have seen is Castorani, which is the family name of Gianluca’s cousins Niccolo and Christiana. From that I deducted – I may be wrong – that his mother Eleanora’s maiden name was/is Castorani (since they are his first cousins). And from THAT I deducted that the names Ognibene and Licardi are the maiden names of Piero’s and Nazio’s mothers. It makes sense to me – maybe that is the S. American custom to put both family names after the child’s given name. It is only an assumption; of course I have no way of knowing whether or not I’m right – but to me it makes sense!

BACK TO THE GAME: I THINK WE ARE ON “I”
imaginative, interesting, innovative, ingenious, intriguing, irresistible, Italian!

  6. I FORGOT TO MENTION: EVERY WORD WE USE APPLIES – OR SHOULD APPLY – TO GIANLUCA, PIERO AND IGNAZIO TOGETHER AND SEPARATELY!!! OF COURSE THEY ARE ALL INCLUDED IN THIS GAME AND IT DOES NOT APPLY ONLY TO ONE OF THEM!

  7. laiabd72.. that makes absolute sense about the names. Here in US we put the maiden name first and then the married name but it’s the opposite I guess in some places.

  8. I am not good at games, but I just read the funniest thing on Team Il Volo. Apparently, at the Mexico City concert, someone threw a bra onto the stage. Ignazio said they didn’t know what to do with it, but Gianluca said he might give it to his mother. Isn’t that funny and charming and typical of our guys?

    1. I would love to be a fly on the wall when he gives it to her! Hey, Mom, here’s a bra for you–one of our fans threw it at us! Too, too funny!

  9. Please Marie, can you put these all together? Everyone is doing such a beautiful job to describe them; we need An Appreciation to Il Volo dedication (from the Flight Crew). It goes with all these beautiful pictures!

  10. Ooohhh lala, oh so cute, oh so talented, oh so fantastic, oh my!!!!
(if you think “O” is easy, YOU try it!

Alright, I’ll try again: OK (not mediocre ok, but AOK), omnipotent, one-of-a-kind, opulent, original, out of this world!

(hey not as hard as I thought)

    1. My original intention is to collect them all at the end. We’ll see what to do with them then!

    1. I think we forgot Loretta’s HOT! HOT! HOT! in the h’s. We can’t leave that one out!

  11. the ultimate (T & U, right?!)
    uninhibited, united, unparalleled, unpretentious

(Webster is on the job here! hee hee : )
