1) … Glance at the “Takes Flight” CD cover and just smile at it?
2) … Say “Il Volo” and someone looks at you with a blank stare and you have the urge to poke them in the eye?
3) … forget to turn on THEIR CD before stepping into the shower and trudge naked back to the living room to do it?
4) …Go to the music section of your local discount store, find Il Volo CD’s behind Il Devo CD’s and move them all to the front?
5) … Want your own blog site so you could chat day or night about your favorite singing group? (Oh wait, you’ve got that!)
6) …Sit in the car and wait for the song to end before you get out? (Surely, we all do that!)
7) …Feel the need to throw something at an interviewer when they say “EL Volo”?
8) …Feel bad for the next song you love, when you hit “rewind” because you have to hear “Il Mondo”! One more time! Right now?
9) …Play Il Volo loud at the drive-thru knowing if the employees hear it, they too will be in love and you have done them a great favor?
10) …Forget your favorite CD in the car. Go out in your robe to get it? In the dark? When it’s cold?
11) …Know that the person you’re talking to doesn’t want to hear about how much you love Piero, but you tell them anyway?
12) …Wish Marie would stop writing about Ignazio’s dimples? (Not gonna happen!)
13) …Worry that someone will steal your car while your Il Volo Cd’s are inside?
14) …Wish Gianluca stayed at your house so often he had his own pillow?
15) And Kelly’s personal, “…Buy complete body care without even smelling it because it’s called ‘Beautiful Day'”.
16) This one is yours! What’s your #16? Did you ever….
~Marie

#10 Always have a second copy
#16 Wish you could call up Piero/Ignazio/Gianluca to sing you to sleep at night.
If Marie ever stops talking about Ignazio’s dimples, I will take up the slack!
here’s my did you ever: did you ever strike up a conversation with a perfect stranger to tell them about Il Volo? Grocery lines are good for this!
I have copies at work in my car and in my house! #16 – so good Lijoy!
Penina, nice to know you have my back on the dimples!
Here is my “Did you ever…”
I was out driving on a lovely summer evening with my windows rolled down when I came to a red light and the car next to me was cranking out some cruddy rap song….so…”Did you ever pump up the volume of IL Volo in your car to catch the attention of the other driver away from their choice of music?”
OH YES I DID!. The other driver actually looked at me, turned his music down and looked at me again. Then I smiled and yelled “IL VOLO!” as I drove off.
So cute!
~ Jeanine D.
Right On!!!
Good for you!
I did exactly this many times. I thought I was the only crazy, lol….
Well my Il Volo thoughts are everyone’s. Maybe not The dimples, But I Bought a Kia Soul and put Washington State Vanity plates That say Il Volo and I ride around in heaven . But i still sit in the car to listen sometimes for an hour. I go places so people will ask me about my plates. I asked my daughter about the plates (after I already applied) and she said if not now When? THEY HAVE CHANGED MY LIFE.
I can’t tell you how many times I have done #6, especially if the song playing is I Bring You to my Senses.
#16 Go to bed with your music player & headphones so you could fall asleep listening to thos Angel voices of IL VOLO?
Yes, to this and many of the others. Got me thru a recent night of sharing a motel room with a snorer.
jjajajaja too funny… I always sit in the car until the song is over….
I do that every morning when I get to work. And whichever song it is, that is where I have to start listening again when I get to my classroom.
Of course you do!
I just did that yesterday!LOL
Did you ever…
go out for a walk in nature, take out your headphones and play IL VOLO full blast from your iPhone or iPod to the trees and the river and the bushes, so they could be as happy as you are?!
(Yes, I did! And I do believe they started dancing! : )
Silly, but really fun!!
~ Jeanine DuBois, Compassion’s Doorway
My did you ever is dream of preparing an ITALIAN meal for all Dad’s and their sons with them asking if I could come to Italy and be their chef! Hold over from being told the way to man’s heart is through his stomach. Not too bad really I caught at winner doing that.
Donna
When you do invite me over. I could use one of those winners!
You ladies are crazy, why I would never do any of those things! NOT! I’ve done almost all of them! About #12 though, I afraid you’ll have competition there! They are something to get lost in, along with the smile to go with them. OH MY MY.
Lost! Yes! Oh My!
…Make your daughters listen to Il Volo while riding in your car.
…Force your husband to change to Il Volo CD while riding in his car.
…Change all the password to Gianluca(& some numbers).
And
…See our guys in your dream and wish you’ve never waken up so soon.
Everybody! who rides in my car listens to Il Volo!
I just went with “Il Volo” password always comes up “secure”!
I made a “My favorite Il Volo music” CD. It stays in my car Cd player. I dare anyone to remove it!
I named my CD “My Best of IL VOLO” & it stays in my car. The only time I remove it is when I put it in my husband’s car to go out. And anyone who rides with me listens to my Italian boys!
Elaine my passwords are all about things and dates that remember Gianluca.
Wish you could introduce them to your family do they to can see how wonderful they are.all the time I think it would be so great to cook Italian for them. Sigh. Only in dreamland.
Did you ever wake up in the middle of the night hearing them singing Il Mondo or any one of the songs on the cds you listened to all day and all night but your cd player isn’t on?
I bought duplicates of all their cds for my car so I don’t have to keep transferring them.
Yes, I hear their songs in my head all of the time! I love it!
The only thing that kept me sane during Hurricane Issac last year was hearing Il Mondo & Un Amore Cosi Grande in my head ( we lost electricity for several days). And every night lately before I go to sleep, I hear Piero singing No Puede Ser in my head.
I have bought so many duplicates . and give them out if you just raise your eyebrow..
Marie, #14 is wishful thinking to the nth degree!!!!!!
Elaine, YES I have ever done the “password” thing! Too funny
Have you ever began listening to Christmas music over an over again even before Halloween but only the CD from a certain band? And have you ever gotten a new appreciation for some of the christmas songs that are like 60 years old!!!
Oh Yeah!
And my #16 – Have you ever printed the stories from this website and given them to friends? Just to share the love? And waited for them to read them?
True story on #15! I wore it in Chicago. Lucky for me, it smelled great! 😜
The shower thing…talking about them when I know other people don’t care like that…the interviewer bit…Yep!
Did you ever talk about Il Volo so much that your sister said you were obsessed? but she made you a tote bag with their picture on it anyway?
Actually, Marie, In regard to #11, I have to hold back in telling anyone how much I really love Piero or they would probably think they had to have me committed.
We’re here for you Mary. You can tell us. Heck Mary, we’ll even visit you in the insane ward!.
That should be easy, Marie, since we will probably all be In adjoining rooms.
They will not only have to build us a wing in the looneybin, I think they will need an entire new institution! At least we are all happy loonies! Maybe they can pipe in the music over the loud speaker system…
Mary, I haven’t told anyone how much I REALLY love Piero except all of you equally obsessed IL VOLO lovers here. If I did, I’d probably share a room with you in the loony bin!
I e-mail all my friends when il Volo is going to be on any tv show and also put their cd’s in front of il Divo at the stores!
I wondered if anyone else did that with Their CD’s. I always do it! And Mary’s family thinks she’s sick….
It is IMPOSSIBLE not to smile at the cover of the CDs. In fact I put that terrific photo–the one where Ignazio and Piero are wearing gingham shirts, with Gianluca in the middle as wallpaper on my computer. I not only smile at it, I also say good morning and good night to it!
Have done MOST of the above! Looks like you have #16! #17 You were only going to watch ONE video while the green beans were cooking, One turned into several, and you forgot about the green beans! LOL Also I NEVER pack my IlVolo CD’s in my Suitcase in case it gets lost. IlVolo ALWAYS goes with me in my carry on!!
The list made me laugh out loud because it’s all so true! I also have to confess, though, to feeling murderous towards reviewers who get facts all wrong! And I have to control the urge to drop everything and fly to the city they are in and coddle them when they are feeling down.
When Gialuca is tired or hungry or not feeling well, I want to call him and tell him to get his rest, eat a lot of pasta and take care of himself and of course, I want to give him a big hug!
I get tired of interviewers who keep asking the same 4 questions. I want to know when are we going to hear Il Volo sing Ignazio’s song? Has Gianluca thought of any pranks to play on Ignazio and Piero yet? When they are home, do their parents make them do chores? And did Piero fix that black and white Fiat with some help?
Oh I love you guys for putting IL VOLO in front of Il Divo CD’s that is genious. Also love that someone up there got a tote bag with their pic on it,, Annacruise, tne bill will be sky high if you have to call him in Latin America to tell him to rest and eat well! But it’s a nice thought! He tweeted that he ‘ate too much argentinian beef” last night. Must have been tasty!
Joan Brenin
I went to my local discount store (big – starts with a W) about two months ago. Moved the CD’s to where they belong – in front. They are still there. I’ll keep monitoring encase some store clerk gets wise.
Ann, you can get cheap overseas calling rates. There are several plans. Just sayin’.
Yes, I go to W and move the cd’s there; they are always out of our boys cd’s at T!! I can call overseas with my plan; no problem. That sweetie has to take care of himself.
I am so guilty of #2,4,5,6,11( but Gian) and especially #14 !!! I love them all but especially Gianluca. I’m obsessed and I love it !!! So happy to know I,m not alone. My friends are tired of me talking about them but all I want to do is spread the word and get them more and more fans. I still can’t get over the last concert I went to in Orlando. Sat 3rd row, center and went wild !!!!
Joan, what constitutes “went wild” whatever did you do in the 3rd row besides scream and holler?
Wasn’t hollering, screaming, jumping up and down and waving my arms like a made woman enough for this Senior to do !!! I thought my heart would leave my chest when Gian made eye contact and smiled at me and my friend who went with me, and thought I was nuts, fell head over heels for ignazio and now understands my passion !!
My friend told me she loves “El Vevo” – I fwd the Boston video – “Be careful – you might shed a tear or two.” Carol will soon be an Il Volo Flight Crew fan. She is from Boston – now lives in Orlando. Hope she has confirmed request to join this great group.
All you have to do to join this group is love Il Volo. And pay enormous fees. I’ll send you my address. (lol)
Will you accept a pan of lasagna for payment, Marie?
Did you ever want to smack a dear family member up side the head for turning down the volume on one of your Il Volo CDs? And I have to restrain myself from having a picture of Piero sitting in my living room.. My family, too, thinks I’m obsessed, and would never understand.
Allene: My family has had to come to terms with my photos of the boys in the living room! They complained – I told them to “get over it”! I still see some pouting, though. Too bad!
Good for you, Linda! 😀
Allene, I have 10 pictures of Piero taped around my computer desk. I used to take them down when family was coming–then I only took down half, and now I think”what the heck, like it or lump it” and leave them all up….it is what it is, and I am what I am, so there!
Eileen, YES!
Well Joan, welcome to the “World of the Obsessed”! If anyone tells you to stop talking, call us. We’ll hold them down while you apply the headphones!
Allene, Yes I have wanted to do that! Also, I have an autographed CD in a regal spot on a small mirror in the center of my dining room table.
Yes Mary, adjoining rooms. Soon!
Just so you know Marie–This same ,now obsessed, friend got me an autographed photo of the boys for my B-day and it too is in my living room for all the world to see. When my sons come to visit they will have me locked up for sure. I think they’re jealous cause I’m on facebook more with Il Volo then I am with them!!!!
I can understand that! I love being on facebook and finding out what “our Boys” are doing and how they are. My favorite thing. I guess they are “our family” — I wish.
Did you ever put on your “‘Takes Flight” or “We are Love” DVD’s when you have company and they don’t quite get it?
Yes, Sister got up and went into the kitchen during “Little Things”. Maybe that was my imagination. Who would do that?
Yes, they ask me “What in the world are you listening to?” My Mom is the only one who gets it.
Well reading what Linda P says, I guess it’s a good thing, in one respect,, that I don’t have any family to tell me that I can’t have my PHOTOs out in full view. HA HA. Marie I will mail you my check to cover your huge fees if you promise not to cash it til after Christmas ha ha. .
Did you ever print out the lyrics to their songs (in Italian) so you could sing along with the CD? I do!
Ruth, does that mean you rap in Italian? lol They all do that in Latin America and the Boys love it.
Are you a singer?
Ann, I’m only a singer in my house! And I think I’d love to learn to rap in Italian…
Ruth, where do you live? I am in Chicago.
To answer your question about where I live (below) I’m in Phoenix, AZ. (There was no “Reply” button down there under your question….)
Have never been to Phoenix. You might be closer to go to Vegas for Christmas if they have a show there. The fares will be very high for the holidays for me. We’ll see.
First thing I do when I get a new CD!
Me. too, Michelle & Ruth. I found English translations for most of the songs and printed those along with the lyrics in Italian or Spanish so I’ll know what they are singing about.
Yes, yes! And print out the translations too.
I’m so sorry to hear that Ignazio’s been sick.I hope whoever is in charge of scheduling their concerts does a better job of giving them more days off on their next tour…this one has been grueling for them.
Oh My Gosh! Marie comes back, and what does she do? She lets the loonies out!! Even some new ones! Welcome, by the way!
Ruth, that has to be one I haven’t heard before. Good for you!
Someone mentioned hearing IL Volo songs even if the CD is not playing! You can’t see, but I’m raising my hand. I hear every key change, every pause, even when just the music is playing. I go around the house looking where it’s coming from, or as soon as I lay down at night, it just doesn’t stop! My son thinks I’m certifiable! Glad to know, If I am, I’m not alone!!
You know, there are times when maybe it’s just as well if they don’t read everything said here! Not sure of their reaction! They would probably run for cover!
Glad to be here in looneyville. HELPPPPPP!
Don’t our Boys read this website? I thought they did. I think they would like it a lot; as long as we couldn’t reach them to give them hugs!
Oh look a late loonie. I hear them and can see how their mouths move when they sing.
Don’t be afraid Boys. Most of us are harmless. The hugs will only hurt a little.
I’m so glad to be here in loonieville with you all! Now, I have a question. Does anybody know where I can get a poster of the boys? The only ones I’ve been able to find are older pictures of them…
Ruth: Let us know if find anything! I’m sure we could exhaust the supply of any vendor!!
Okay, I found a poster on eBay! It’s listed as “Il Volo We Are Love Debut Album 2012″, and it’s 11″X17”. It was only $2.99 (!) plus $7.00 shipping charges (I know, the shipping costs more than the poster, but that’s okay with me! It’s going to be in a cardboard mailing tube.) The seller is elhora1, and she has a good seller rating. She says she only has 9 left, so if you want one, get to it. I also found a coffee cup (quite by accident) that says “Got Il Volo?” on Amazon for $6.99 plus $5.98 shipping…so cute! Now, I’m happy. I’ll have to see what else I can find…
Ruth, my posters are from the concert souvenir shops. I just checked Interscope merchandise (on “Around the Blog” “Merchandise”). Still no posters! I have let Interscope know how I feel about this several times!
YES, I have done ALL, but wouldn’t dare let my family know. keep a low key when they are around.
one thing more: I suffer when I hear another singer singing an Il Volo song, and I keep hearing them singing it.
I also don’t think I could ever go to a meet and greet, because the moment I came face to face with them I would faint.
when I am playing their music, I get so consumed that time and space ceases to exist.
love all the comments.
Exactly! I was in a store and they played the original version of “Beautiful Day” (by U2). I couldn’t take it!!
And Deanne, when you hear anybody else sing anything, do you think their voice sounds “tinny”? Il Volo has such beautiful, rich voices, I can’t help but make a comparison…and most other people just don’t measure up!
RUTH: HI neighbor, I.m in MESA! Glad you are here with us!
Hi, Kitty! Glad to “meet” you. Did you go see Il Volo when they were here in September? I missed it, unfortunately. I’m still VERY bummed about it, too! I’m definitely going next time, no matter what.
Posted on next page about an earthquake in Chile. Have not heard anything more, and have not been able to find on internet.
7:30 PM Eastern 10/31/2013 SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) — A strong earthquake has rocked central Chile, causing buildings to sway in the capital of Santiago. There were no immediate reports of major damage or deaths. The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting that the quake had a magnitude of 6.6, and its epicenter was located about 65 kilometers (40 miles) southwest of the city of Coquimbo. It’s depth was 10 kilometers (6 miles).
Did you ever say to your niece – “you are almost Gianluca’s age – but he will be 18 in February” this was last year – my niece rolled her eyes, looked at me like I was crazy and said, “YOU even know his birthday!” and I said, yes, and I know Ignazio’s and Piero’s too! So there!
I think Gianluca will be 19 in February. Our boys are growing up fast.
Thanka mfazzara, It’s still bad news, but was beginning to worry about posting something that was inaccurate.
RE: IL VOLO, weren’t we just talking about their angels?
Yes, they just missed this one!
Did you ever…
when you’re buying an in-store IL VOLO CD, ask the clerk if s/he knows IL VOLO, and if not, unsolicited, hold your iPod up to the clerk’s ear so s/he can hear!
I remember the first time I did that, the young woman said, I didn’t think they would sound like THAT! She had a smile on her face.
And, friends, I choose my words carefully.
I am not obsessed.
Being obsessed is draining, and it’s someone else’s word for “I don’t understand why you do …, so I’m going to try to make you stop by calling you obsessed.”
I am passionate about IL VOLO, as I believe many of you are!
Being passionate is energizing and uplifting. Passionate is my word for enthusiasm, excitement, joy! The root of enthusiasm has to do with God and inspiration within.
As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”
We are not crazy, either. IL VOLO lovers are some of the most vibrant, kind, energized, joyous people I know. If that’s crazy, we have a very upside down world.
Living in IL VOLO Land, and loving it! (IL VOLO Land Beckons http://www.compassions-doorway.com/IL_VOLO_Land_Beckons.html )
~ Jeanine DuBois, Compassion’s Doorway
Well said Jeanine. Thank you. We love their music because they sing with passion – and it makes us feel so good.
Thanks, Ann. So beautifully put! You said it!! (; >)
~ Jeanine D.
Beautifully said, Jeanine. I have had a sad 2 1/2 years, and since I discovered Il Volo, some happiness has returned. They are nothing but good for me!
Ruth, I’m sorry for your sadness and so glad that IL VOLO has helped some happiness to return. They are so good for me, too!
And welcome, it’s great to have you on board with your passionate enthusiasm right there in the thick of things during the concert!
Another subject: I just read on Team IL VOLO “Il Volo: “We are humble and simple” that Ignazio has been sick with the flu, still taking antibiotics, and spent the night with a fever.
Prayer team, let’s remember Ignazio’s health and that of all our guys and their families and entourage.
Also, it was an interesting article with a bit beyond the usual.
Thanks to God and our angels for surrounding our guys and each of us with Love and Light and the peace that passes understanding,
~ Jeanine DuBois, Compassion’s Doorway
Get well soon my Baby Boy! Do you need me to hold a cool cloth on your forehead? I’ll be right over!
Seriously, many prayers for your health.
Go home to mom!
The hussy who kissed him probably infected the poor Baby!
That is so wrong! Unless I’m the hussy who kissed him.
I was thinking the SAME THING! 😛
YEAH!
Feel better, Ignazio! I’ll be there helping Marie hold the cloth.
Now that I found all you passionate Il volo loonies I feel like I found a comfortable place to shout out my love for the boys without being judged or getting the eye roll. I love it and I wish everyone in the world would get it !!!!
Soon Joan…Soon.
Do you suffer from IV-PCD (Il Volo Post Concert Depression) or just plain PIVD (Post Il Volo Depression)? You have come to the right place to get your fill of Il Volo 24 hours a day. Welcome All!
That’s funny LiJoy, when the board girls were talking about it, we called it PCSS (Post Concert Stress Syndrome). And yeah, we were (still) all suffering!
Yes, girls, this is a great place to be understood. What we all have to do is to convince their management not to schedule their concerts too close together. It is not healthy.
It was a red-letter day when I discovered this site with others that were as crazy about Il Volo as I was!
With all of our prayers for Ignazio heading heavenward today, I hope he was feeling fit-as-a-fiddle by concert time. We grandmas sure worry when one of Our Boys is sick.
And Mary B., I’ve got my favorite picture of Piero sittig proudly on one of my tables in the living room! So there, family, it’s there to stay!
Does anyone have Barbara Vitelli ‘s email address? I’d like to send her an email asking her to watch out for our boys and to take good care of Ignazio.
Certainly Irene, b.vitali@mt-operaandblues.com
I wrote to Barbara also about not having concerts so close together. They need more time to rest between concerts even though we want to see them all the time.
Ruth, Thank you, thank you. Went on eBay. Got the poster! Happy to pay the shipping too! Now there’s 8 left. FYI everyone else – it’s the We Are Love debut poster! Didn’t know it existed. (I am not promoting this. Don’t know the seller) I would like to have one of those autographed photo’s also on eBay! Way expensive!
P.S. Found a Buon Natale t-shirt there too.
I would have probably bought one of those autographed pics if the pictures had been more recent. I’ll be watching eBay for sure. And maybe one day I’ll have a chance to get their autographs in person!
Did you ever go back to an old video, like from 2 years ago, and say to yourself that you must save it to favorites, and when you do a message comes up stating this title has already been saved to favorties! Marie I am on my way to E BAY!!
Yes, I may need a second computer to store them all! I might have a few extra’s of Ignazio! I’m keepin’ em too!
Go girl! Let me know what you get.
