A Comment From Jeannette

Sometimes you people tear my heart out of my chest. I am astounded that Our Guys, Our Very Young Men, have the power to bring such peace and happiness to those of us who need it, when we need it. Here is another example of that very thing. I’ve been keeping it to myself for a while, but I want to share it with all of you. I don’t know Jeannette. I know she has recently commented a few times. I know we will all welcome her with open arms. I think you will all agree she is one of us.

I too have a fan story of how these wonderful young men changed my heart… I am a Great Grandmother, so not a young teen but young at heart… I lost my husband, friend and love of my life February, 2013… I was in such a deep dark place without his love… I had no reason to wake up in the morning, but somehow I did… One day a friend sent me a couple of Youtube videos of Il Volo… I am of Italian heritage, my parents were born in Palermo Sicily and she thought that maybe hearing some Italian music from this young Italian group would somehow brighten my sad heart…

There are no words that I could put in writing that would express how Il Volo and their music has up lifted my heart… I started reading more about them on the internet… I listened to their music videos on YouTube… I soon realized that everytime I heard them sing or saw their beautiful faces that I was smiling… For the first time in months I was SMILING… I bought their albums, played them in the car… I bought their PBS specials and watched them late at night when I could not sleep… Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio have brought me out of that deep depression into the light of day… Their music brings memories of my parents singing the Italian songs to me when I was young… The love songs brings the happy memories that I shared with my husband rather than just the memory of losing him too soon in my life… These three young men with the voices, have brought love back to my heart and life back to my soul… I too think of them as my Grandsons as I have one grandson of their same age… I worry about them as I would my grandson that they are working to hard, not getting enough sleep and so many other things a grandma worries about… I am thankful that their managers treat them with love and tenderness like they would their own family…

These three young men have given me a gift… Their beautiful personalities, their unbelievable voices have brightened my soul and I am again able to smile and feel the happiness around me once more…

Thank you Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio… One more tidbit before I close… My Birthday like Gianluca’s is Feb. 11… My father’s birthday like Piero’s is June 24… So maybe they truly have a connection to my soul …

Me:   Jeannette, may I share your story…?

***

Jeanette’s response:
Oh my goodness, I am surprised that you would want to feature my story… I just spoke from the heart of the journey I have taken with this talented young group called Il Volo… Who would ever think that teenagers and their music could touch the heart of a great grandma…Change the course of grief into a journey back to happiness… In many groups that talk about Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio, they call them angels with voices that are gifts from God… I am here to tell anyone who will listen, they certainly are!!! I believe in Angels on earth… Angels on earth touch people in a way that helps them move forward!!! For me, that is exactly what these three young men have done and I would be happy to share my story… Thank you so much for asking, and I am so happy to have this site today and I will continue to visit it daily… I feel like I will find friends with shared interests here as we all love Il Volo…

  1. That was a beautiful and heartfelt storyjeanette and confirms again what we all knew about these 3angels. As I’ve said before, they are the total package they have it all.talent, charm, looks but most of all, heart. For them to have touched so many people is proof of that. They re definitely a gift from above!

  2. Her story is so like mine. My husband went home to live with God almost 13 years ago. I also think of these boys as my Italian grandsons. Two years ago With my daughter I visited Sicily and loved my week there. God has blessed me and I have attended two of the boys concerts in Connecticut and watched them grow. I do hope they will plan another concert in Connecticut in late Summer of Fall so that I can again enjoy being there. They are God’s special singers. I pray for their safety every day.

    1. Thank you for sharing your story with me as well… You are so fortunate to have gone to two concerts … I will be attending my first Il Volo concert at the Greek in Los Angeles on June 7, I hope to be able to take a picture with them… That would be my dream come true… I do have meet and greet tickets but do not know if we will be allowed to take a picture with them…

  3. Bless you, Jeannette! So sorry for your loss, but so thankful our young men have brightened your life! They do bring a beautiful light into all the corners of life. I am amazed that ones who are so young can sing about love and all the roads of life with such passion and obvious joy. They are truly “The Flight” that takes us to places of healing and peace. Welcome here, Jeannette! Hope your memories of your husband and a little Italian music soothe your heart! God’s blessings to you!

    1. Thank you so much Carol… They truly do take us to a place of healing a peace… You said it so well…

  4. Dear Jeanette: here comes story number three! I could not believe how much we girls had in common!! My mom came from Sant Agatha , Sicily, next to Messina. My dad was born in Villa Rosa, near Mt.Etna. My dad was always singing all the songs I hear the “Boys” sing. When I watched the PBS special Il Volo Takes Flight. I cried from emotion. My husband passed in May and Il Volo has filled my void from morning til night. I saw them in Detroit in September . They are such a joy.!

    1. Mary, I am so sorry for your loss, I know that empty feeling and watching and listening to these young men really do lighten the heart. God bless you..

  5. Thank you, Jeannette for your beautiful story. Piero,Gianluca and Ignazio have a special way and a special talent that gives us all peace and tranquility. They make my day, every day!

  6. Thank you Jeannette, your beautiful story brought tears to my eyes and warmth to my heart. The comment regarding angels on earth is something I have believed for years. These three young men are so special for so many reasons. We love them for each and every one! I am so happy for you that they have touched your life!

    1. Thank you so much MaryJane for your beautiful comment… I feel blessed to have found this blog with such kind and tender hearted people … IL Volo has made a difference in so many lives… I just wish they truly knew what love, peace and joy they spread around the world…

  7. Jeannette I am crying from happiness from your heartfelt story & how you have found peace. I am always saying our young men are gifts from God. I don’t want to listen to or see any other performer & I want to know every thing they do & see every picture.
Thank you for your story & I hope you continue to find peace.

    1. Thank you Loretta for your beautiful reply… I believe too that Il Volo is a gift from God, and they are serving his purpose by touching the hearts of so many with their beautiful music and their sincere love for their fans…

  8. This story has really touched my heart. Although my husband is still with me physically and in my heart, he can no longer communicate as he once did. When he has a particularly difficult day I go to the boys for help and play their songs and videos. This lifts me up out of my depression and with a lighter heart and mind I can face his difficulties. Thank you.

    1. Thank you Donnamay for reaching out to me, I can understand your pain… Its difficult to see our loved ones fade before our eyes…The care giver goes through as much pain and emotional suffering as the patient… You expressed so well how the songs and videos lift us out of our sadness and gives us happiness to help cope with the sadness… God Bless you and your husband …

  9. Thank you, Jeanette, for sharing. That’s what this site is all about – “Share the Love”. Your story moved me to tears, again, as I find joy in Il Volo – three young men placed here on earth for a heavenly purpose – joy!

  10. These are all wonderful stories. I too have been uplifted by them and their voices! I hope I will be able to see them in concert live (maybe a second US tour this fall to include the Pacific NW?). They fill my soul with such peace and contentment. It’s so wonderful to connect with so many people that experience these same emotions. Thank you ALL for sharing.

  11. Jeanette your story truly touched my heart and I am so sorry for your loss. The longer I live the more I believe that very few people go through life untouched by tragedy and loss myself included. This being said I also believe that these three beautiful young men, with hearts of gold, have been sent from heaven above to uplift us,sooth our souls, and bestow their beauty, love and talent on us and the world. A day doesn’t go by that I don’t listen to their voices in my car or watch their DVD’s. Everyday, in every way, they make feel younger, happier and very grateful that they are in my world.

    1. Thank you Joan, I do agree with you that they are more than talented, they are a blessing to all who hear them and enjoy them…

  12. Beautiful heartfelt story Jeanette, thank you so much for sharing it with us. Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio are truly a blessing to us all.

  13. I know the feeling, after being diagnosed with fibromyalgia, spending 24/7 in pain, but connecting with the music and talent of Il Volo they have reminded me to follow my dream. They are truely a blessing and God is using them in such an amazing way, touching the lives of more people than they will ever know. They are a delight and their music lifts the heart to such great heights. Because of them i have met so many wonderful friends who are IlVolovers…from all around the world, and heard their stories how their music has changed their lives. We share a common bond: Il Volo! They are the reason that Il Volo Virtual Tour Bus was formed, so we can gather and share our love for them and their voices…3 voices and 1 soul!

    1. Thank you , you said it so well… Many of us have some tragedy in our life and we need something or someone to lift us and give us joy… Il Volo has accomplished that for all of us it seems… I just wish they knew how their music has brought so many people together and brought comfort to those in need…

  14. Thank You Jeanette, so much. I feel the same. My 88 year old father(at the time) saw them on PBS in Boston, and here I am. I love them so much! Thanks for sharing your heart! “We Are Love”! By the way I am another 11….Nov. 11!

    1. Thank you Donna for sharing your love of Il Volo… I feel at home here because there is so much love for Il Volo here…

  16. Zoila’s comment translated from Spanish:

I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Jeanette and I appreciate having shared
By not being able to express myself in English my comments are few but always be mindful of your publications, Thanks

Gracias Zoila, y dar la bienvenida.

    1. Thank you Zoila, I do not speak spanish but thanks to the power of the internet I am able to translate your comments to English and then answer you in Spanish… I am glad that we can share our love of Il Volo around the world and Language is not a barrier … Il Volo can speak three languages… I can at least learn to communicate in more than just English…

  17. Thank you so much for sharing you story with us. I am only 17, so I can’t imagine the pain that you’ve gone through, but to for you to have come out on the other side means you must have one of the biggest, strongest hearts possible.

    1. Thank you so much Isabel, you have such a big heart and I am happy to know such a lovely young lady …. Age is but a number, Kindness has no age and you have that in abundance…

  18. Jeanette, thank you so much for your wonderful sharing! It brought tears to my eyes! I am almost 72 and my husband is 77. We are great grandparents five times over. We have four grandsons and have adopted these young men as our other grandsons! I listen to at least one DVD of theirs everyday and listen to their CDs in the car! I can barely listen to other singers. They are such humble and compassionate young men! I also pray for them everyday! We have gone to two of their concerts and will be going to the one in Nashville in June! God has truly blessed them with angelic voices and blessed the whole world by allowing them to bring such joy to us!! May God bless you!!
Three voices, one soul is certainly true and they do take us on a flight of pure joy when they sing!

    1. Thank you Anna for your comments… I am so amazed at the beautiful comments to my story today…We share so much of the same feeling when talking about Il Volo… I have never know any group or any single entertainer that has touched so many people in the way Il Volo has… God has blessed us with them…

  19. Dear Jeanette,
I have read all the comments so far, and it is obvious that you have touched all of us so deeply, and I thank you for sharing and expressing so poignantly your Il Volo experience with us.

It sounds as though a lot of us have had similar tough times, where Our Boys have stepped in and filled a void in our hearts. I thank our Heavenly Father for giving us the pure joy of seeing, hearing, and knowing these three very special, talented young men. Who ever would have thought that these three could have such a profound effect on so many of us? For me, they always seem to be with me when I need them most, with the most beautiful music in the universe!
P.S. Marie, thank you so much for posting and sharing Jeanette’s experience with us.
    Helen

    1. Dear Jeanette & all of the Flight Crew,
Thankyou for telling us your storey. I wish to express my sympathy on the loss of your husband. The Boys have helped so many of us in our sadness & loss of a loved one. Their amazing voices & beautiful personalities bring smiles to our faces & joy to our hearts. My husband was Italian & the love of my life. He died Feb 17, 2003. I still miss him every day. I feel that he had something to do with these wonderful young men comming into our lives, all of us. I am a grandma & great grandma with 6 wonderful kids, who all have beautiful families of their own. I was so privileged to share my 85th birthday at The Gibson Theater on 8/28/13 with Gianluca, Ignazio, & Piero. They sang Happy Birthday to me at the M & G. Was a magical, enchanted, wondrous evening! We also met met them at the Buon Natale CD signing in Santa Monica on 11/23. They remembered us! They are such fun & are truly interested in what is going on in your life. Will see them again at the Greek on 6/7. Can’t wait! They are a gift from God, three voices, one soul. I keep them & families & those directing their careers in my prayers every nite. All of you posting here say exactly what is in all our hearts. Many thanks! Love, Anne

    2. Thank you so much for your beautiful comments… You are so right when you say Il Volo has had a profound effect on all of us… I am happy to found a place to share my love for Il Volo and their music…

    3. Thank you Helen for your beautiful comments about my story of how Il Volo enhanced my life… You are right, as I read the comments of the Flight Crew, we each have a heartfelt story of how these three young men have touched our lives… I bet it would do their hearts good if they knew that they have truly reached their goal of bringing their music to all the ages and to know that they have done more that that by lifting the hearts of many with their beautiful voices and their thoughtful and kind personalities…

    4. Thank you for your comment to my story… Life is filled with love and tragedy… It is impossible never to experience sadness, it would mean you never lived life to the fullest… Life is filled with joy and sometimes sadness, but when you find that one thing that lifts your spirits, put a little joy in your life you can once again feel happiness… IL Volo has done that for so many of us… They have magic in their voices, sincerity in their hearts and they touch the hearts of all of us in a very special way…

  20. Jeanette, and those of you who also commented on losing your husband….. I think it’s wonderful you find comfort and joy in listening to “our boys”. I have not lost my husband yet, and dread the day. I often wonder about the boys moms – when my son was 19 or 20 its was me harping on him to pick up his clothes, turn down the radio, etc etc. Do these boys that give the world such delight act like normal teenagers at home?

    1. Thank you Barbara for your response… I read that these young men really do not get special treatment when they are home… I read a comment one of them said “when at home, I am still expected to throw out the trash” I laughed because I am sure that is so true, their families love these boys and know how to keep them grounded in spite of their fame… Having that kind of family gives them the strength of Character that we all of about them…

  21. Thank you, Jeanette for your story. It made me cry but I am so happy that these “angels” are seeing you through your loss. In 2010 I lost my Mom, Nine months later I lost my Dad and six months later my dog died. My parents were only children so no aunts or uncles. Fortunately I have my Sister. In 2011 is when I discovered, through a friend, Il Volo. I listened to them and fell in love with their voices. Being Italian, they reminded me of my parents and renewing my Italian language, but more so, their voices just lifted my spirits day by day. I play their music daily and their angelic voices just keep me going and lifting me higher and higher. I hope and pray my parents can hear them in Heaven. I hope to see them in Los Angeles this June. Take care and thanks again for sharing your story with us.

    1. Thank you Nazio 1 for your comments… We truly have a lot in common, I first fell in love with their music because of the memories of my parents that the Italian songs they sang brought back to my heart… I know our parents in heaven can hear them singing to us… I am sorry for your loss, I know the pain you felt with the sudden of your parents… My husband died and seven days later my sister died …My heart was so broken that I thought I would never recover from the pain in my heart…In time and with the help of these three young men, their talent and their charm in the way they share love with their fans, I have moved forward out of the Abyss … It has been a blessing to have found them and their music… I have my tickets to the Greek in LA.. Hope I see you there…

      1. I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to respond to our comments. I really appreciate that you did that for all of us. I haven’t gotten my tickets yet for the Greek. I couldn’t afford the PBS tickets, and the Greek starts selling them on 4-5-14, with a presale through Ticketron (spelling) on 4-4-14. I hope I can get something for myself close to the stage. I, also, hope to see you there. (Like you, I usually am a “stalker” too. ) Take Care, Victoria

      2. Hi, again. I replied to you about 1/2 hours ago, but I made a mistake about the presale tickets for the Greek. I meant to say Ticketmaster, not Ticketatron. I just wanted to correct myself in case anyone else needed this info. Thanks and take care.

  22. This is really amazing! I have read all your comments on Jeanette’s beautiful experience, and it is as if we were all hit with the same thunderbolt! everything each one says relates to the same experience of the other.
From the first moment I laid eyes on these three boys , it just came out of my mouth automatically ” this is sent from Heaven to a world that needs them so badly”.
I am not their age(and thank God,because I don’t have to compete for them) but share their lives by praying for them.I know the environment they have come into, and I have placed them on my priority prayer list. they have 1st place. I know you make laught at this, but every night I have a ritual. as I am ready to go to bed, I go to their CD cover near to the record player(which has one of their CD’s permanently in) and I bless each one with holy water and say my own prayer for their protection.
every time I play their CD’s it’s the same feelings like the first time. they are my motivation and my energy in life and I really don’t understand it, it just seems to be too extraordinary to be real and all I can say is Thank God”

    1. Thank you Deanne for your comments, it is so true that they were sent from Heaven to a world that needs them so badly… You hit the nail on the head… Everyone here has a story of healing thanks to Il Volo and their music… They are a blessing and they are blessed as well to have beautiful fans such as yourself who pray for their well being daily…

  23. Jeanette, your story touched my heart! I lost my husband suddenly in April 2011, and in July 2013 lost a newborn grandson. Il Volo has touched my soul in the same way they’ve touched yours and many of us here…they make me smile and lift my spirits. They are truly wonderful in so many ways…so special to us all and I’m SO glad they’re around! And I’m SO glad I found The Flight Crew…we’re all of the same mind when it comes to Our Guys, and I love coming here and reading stories like yours. Blessings to you, sweet lady, and to all of you other sweet ladies here! I love all of you!

    1. Thank you Ruth, we do share so much of the same pain and then the same healing thanks to God and to the Angels he has sent to us to touch our hearts in a very special way… Music is healing and when it is so beautiful as it is when these three young men put their voices together, it is heals the heart for sure…

  24. I want to take a moment to thank MARIE CRIDER for posting my story today… I never imagined the kind feelings that all of you expressed for my story of how Il Volo touched my life… I tried to thank you each personally because it meant so much to me to read your comments and feel like a real part of a very special group … I am usually just a stalker on a site like this, reading information and posts but never posting myself… But this Blog has been different and I felt comfortable sharing my feelings of how Il Volo touched my heart…. Thank you all for making me feel at home in this very special place… God bless you all for you have all filled my heart with joy today… Thank you Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca because it was the three of you who brought me to the Il Volo Flight Crew where I found a new home to share my love and joy of you three…

  25. Dear Jeanette I too was touched by your letter to the Flight Crew. I just find it so amazing that most of us who are drawn to the flight crew feel so strongly abut Il Volo. I know I am not alone.

    1. Thank you Lynn and you are right, you are not alone… I found out yesterday that I was not alone when it comes to having love for Il Volo… These three young men have touched the hearts of so many people with their music… But I think that their sincere love of their fans no matter how young or old is the reason why we care so deeply for them… They are truly gifted with more than just beautiful voices… Their thoughtful and caring ways on and off the stage draws us to them as much as their beautiful music does…

  26. Thank you Jeanette, for sharing your story with us. I, too, lost my beloved husband of almost 52 years five years ago. For a while I was in a very dark place, and then I heard Piero, Gianluca, and Ignazio in their PBS special from Detroit in 2011. Suddenly love bloomed in my heart for these three young boys from Italy. Their soaring voices brought me up out of that dark place and I felt alive again. And, yes, I too feel like they are my grandsons (my three grandsons are the same ages as these boys). Not a day goes by that I don’t have one of their CDs playing. I met these young men at the Mall of America, and they are certainly wonderful and talented young men.

    1. We do have the same story to tell, I feel empathy for your loss, but finding joy with the music of these three young men seems to be a common thread in all of us… God Bless them and I pray that they will continue as Il Volo and not go their separate ways in the future, because together they are truly a blessing to us all… I have three Grand Daughters and only one Grandson who is the same age as Piero… He had his 21st birthday just last week… I feel I suddenly have four Grand Sons, because I worry about Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca as if they were my own…
God bless you Allene and thank you for commenting and sharing your story with me…
