Caruso Award 2015
Il Volo has been nominated for the 2015 Caruso Award by Raffaele Lauro, a politician in the Italian Senate (Raffaele Lauro Wikipedia Page).
According to Commune di Sorrento (Commune di Sorrento Article),”the Caruso Award is a recognition given to a personality of the artistic world of Italian culture that has particularly helped to spread the art and Italian culture in the world. A prize, Caruso, which in previous years has gone to giants of the art scene, as Andrea Bocelli, Lucio Dalla, Claudio Mattone, Massimo Ranieri and Carlo Fracci.”
Congratulations, Piero, Gianluca, and Ignazio! We’ll be waiting to hear the official word–but of course we always knew that you belonged in the company of these artists. 😉
Count Down to China
According to Piero, the time for vacation is now over, and it looks like they are getting ready to hit the road running. Il Volo is heading the China before they go to the San Remo Festival. They will be guests in a Chinese national music festival on January 26 which will be televised live on Chinese National TV. New Album News
The Guys are still recording–a process that obviously takes waaaayyyy more time than I ever thought. But it seems like the release date for the long awaited album will be sometime after San Remo, giving me hope that my hunch was correct: that the song they will be singing at San Remo will be on the album. It is talked about a bit in the above article as does Ignazio in an interview that was released recently. Stay tuned for a transcript of his interview.

Thanks Kelly for such wonderful news. Finally really getting recognition in Italy in so many ways. They have worked so hard and are so deserving.
The Caruso Award seems to be tailor made for them! How can anyone else win it???
Another nomination for a prestigious award for our much-loved Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca! And to think it was just a few years ago that these three fine young men grabbed ahold of my heart. I am as proud of them as if they were my grandsons!
It seems like the guys are really starting to catch fire in their own country I am so happy for them they deserve to be recognized for how truly amazing they are and I can’t wait for their new album to come out should be amazing.
Hope they are awarded the “Caruso” award. It would be a recognition of their excellence in the music field. Marsala needs to get going and do something to show their appreciation to Ignazio and Il Volo. They have put their Cities ‘on the map’ of many tourists.
I looked up the Chinese Festival and gave up. There are so many and hard to find the exact dates because of the Lunar Calendar. One thing I am grateful to Il Volo is my new interest in researching information pertaining to their events. Learning about the World with new eyes.
There is a new “one time” voting. We are ahead but not by much.

Wow! Back in the air again. From Italy to China is a whole bunch of hours flying. They ashould be given another set of wings beside the angel ones they already have. One more step up in san Remo. Go get em guys. Joanie G
Fantastic! How wonderful this ride with them has been! Now it’s getting even better! They are the world’s best obsession!
After lately reading such prime examples of “obsessive behaviors” I’m glad to know I’m not alone. While riding in my car, my sister asked me how many times I thought I had heard that particular Il Volo cd. I don’t know. 100? 1,000?, 10,000? Who knows. I only know that I’ll cheerfully and gratefully listen at least that many more times. I know every word, every nuance. I think… maybe I’d better listen again to be sure.
We all hung our star on winners!
And Marie– We can listen to their beautiful voices morning,noon and night and we always want more, more, MORE !!! I never, ever experienced this with any other group at any time in my life !! Unlike our Guys, I usually get bored after awhile when listening to other groups or singers.
