Roccaraso is over and The Guys are as busy as ever, attending the Armani show during Fashion Week and having the Porta a Porta special airing tonight (stayed tuned for anything I can find about those events).

“This video is from the start of the concert in Roccaraso on June 18. Our guys announced that the concert was being dedicated to little Iaia (Yaya), who has been undergoing treatment for Nueroblastoma (a cancer which generally originates in the adrenal glands). She desperately needed treatment in the US. After the people of Abruzzo (the region in which Iaia’s family lives) began the campaign “Un Sogno Di Iaia” (Iaia’s Dream), with the help of Il Volo (more so Gianluca, himself being from Abruzzo), she and her family were able to travel to Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in NY and she received the treatment she needed. The ever-compassionate and tender-hearted Gianluca is visibly quite emotional, and his sweet brother Ignazio comforts him. Bless his heart’!”

Geography Lesson
Roccaraso is a town and commune of the province of L’Aquila in the Abruzzo region of central Italy, and boasts some of the best downhill and cross country ski runs around. It is beautiful, but the thought of winter gives me chest pain. 😉

Kelly thanks for this post. You brought all of events together and made more sense then my little peeks of a post here and there. I envy your ability with the internet and computer ‘magic’. At my age I move from one discovery to another like an aging turtle.
I recently saw nice film- Volare – La grande storia di Domenico Modugno.I thought, while I was watching a movie, on Piero, Ignazio, Gianluca,it would be nice if once someone (in the future) will make a film about Grande amore and Il Volo and their global success.It would be interesting, beautiful and emotional movie about fulfillment of dreams of three young boys, their love of music, pride of their country …Story of the song Grande Amore and the emergence of group Il Volo would certainly be a nice pleasure for all fans of amazing boys from Sicily and Abruzzo 🙂 . After all,the boy’s favorite song from Eurovision history is Modugno’s song Piove (1959).
