The day before Easter there was a short connection from Il Volo to the Porta a Porta transmission, conducted by Bruno Vespa.
For those who follow Il Volo recently, it is news like any other, but for those who have long been fond of boys, remember well the beautiful episodes of Porta a Porta, when the boys, here in Italy, had not yet won Sanremo and therefore still little known and then immediately after, when they were at the height of their popularity.
This time was short, but we all want a whole evening with who the boys called “Uncle Bruno”, and hopefully this will happen soon.
Remember the three guys from Il Volo?
Of course you remember them, they are now famous in Italy and in the world. We baptized them 10 years ago, then they really broke out everywhere.
This is the tenth anniversary of their activity and at the beginning of March they were completing an extraordinary tour with seven thousand people every night all sold out, through America and Canada, then at some point in America things started to go wrong, in Italy, very badly, and they decided to cancel some concerts and come back.
Returning from the US, they made the mandatory quarantine, then the quarantine that we all do. They are locked in the house, in three different houses and have put together their voices to sing a symbolic song: IL MONDO/THE WORLD,the famous 1965 song by Jimmy Fontana, which brought them a lot of luck, let’s listen to them.
IL MONDO starts
BV = Good evening guys, good evening, Gianluca Ginoble from Roseto degli Abruzzi, Ignazio Boschetto from Bologna, Piero Barone from Naro.
G = Good evening.
I= Hi Bruno.
P= Hi Uncle Bruno, how are you.
BV = Hi, I’m fine, with a lot of nostalgia to see you, the RAI1 audience will see you and applaud you again on Tuesday before Porta a Porta. On Tuesday we will broadcast one of your 2015 concerts made at the Arena in Verona, you will comment on it from your homes, and then we will arrive (in the sense that Porta a Porta is broadcast after the concert).
Of course you are terribly young still, 25 years old, the oldest is Piero who is 26. How did it go in America? Sold out every evening.
P= This tour was full of emotions, especially at the beginning, from Italy worries came to us, but we honestly didn’t realize the situation, so we continued to do concerts.
The last three concerts we were forced to cancel, because they closed all the connections from Europe, to Italy from the United States, so we canceled the concerts and returned to Italy.
But we had a nice tour and now we are happy to be at home with our family members safe.
BV= Honestly, you were never at home, what impression did it make you, being locked in a house, with the few movements allowed to each of us, you who are used to crowds of thousands and thousands of people?
I= (Ignazio and Gian answer at the same time, then decide that Ignazio continues)
Personally, I am used to it and I like to stay at home, when I can and we are here, I often stay at home, but now, the nice thing is to have re-found the love of the people close to us, our family members, they are always here, and it is often an affection that we take for granted and even though we always travel, we have had the confirmation that our family is a great reference point.
BV= This I think also applies to Gianluca and Piero, I guess.
G= Of course. We returned on March 13, justly the restrictions imposed by the government to stem the infection have forced everyone to stay at home and we must lead by example.
Staying at home for us who are 9-10 months a year away from home is not entirely negative, because as Ignazio said, our family is the most important thing and now we are together 24 hours a day.
I started playing the piano again, with my brother we sing and play all the time, therefore, in the tragedy, there are also positive things, so we try to have a little “spirit of adaptation”, stay at home and rediscover those passions that were hidden.
P= Objectively, Bruno, we are experiencing a completely new situation, but this moment, however extreme and complicated, calls everyone’s attention, in applying the rules that are indicated to us.
But we, like Il Volo and all artists like us, must lead by example and using today’s technology, to communicate to more people that the situation is serious and everyone’s help is needed.
BV= Guys, thank you, good luck, ready for a brilliant recovery in Italy and worldwide, the appointment is on RAI1 on Tuesday evening.
I= Can I say one last thing?
BV= Of course, Ignazio.
I= I wanted to say something that has been a point of discussion in many broadcasts, I want to tell people at home to listen only to official news, to follow only official sites, because fake news and misrepresented news are very dangerous for everyone, for everyone’s mood, for the Country and for the world. So just read the right news and stay at home like us.
Bruno, grazie mille, because you were one of the first to believe in us.
BV = I’m glad that this fake news is said by a young man, because young people are often victims of social media, and in these days we are listening to everything.
Below is the video of the promotion of the Il Volo concert, made in the Arena in 2015, and which will be re-transmitted onRAI 1 on Tuesday 14 April at 09:30 pm, Italian time.
The concert will be commented directly byPiero, IgnazioandGianlucafrom their homes.
For those able to connect and view RAI 1, it is always a good concert to see and also the guys will sing many songs, and also LA VITA, whose words are really significant in this period.
Since the last time I wrote a post, it’s amazing how many things our guys have done, but let’s try to retrace all their commitments.
Milan was also embellished with beautiful IL VOLO posters.
On December 17, Il Volo takes part in the presentation in Bologna of the new book by dear friend Bartoletti: ALMANACCO DI SANREMO. The boys were kind and affable to everyone.
At the end of the evening, Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca recorded a video message dedicated to Sinisa Miajlovich (coach of the Bologna football team, currently suffering from leukemia). Here are some of the beautiful words written by Bartoletti.
“When the presentation of a book ends with Il Volo that stands up to go to dedicate ‘Grande Amore’ to Arianna Miajlovich sitting in the front row (then asking her cell phone to send a private encouragement video to Sinisa) there would already be very little to be added. Yet before, there had been … everything else. Between participation, joy and even a little emotion. With the acquired certainty that the A of Almanac is the same as A of Friendship (Amicizia ): and also the A of Love (Amore).
Difficult to find the words to thank Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero who came on PURPOSE to give us their affection.”
Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio, have also been to visit an exhibition in Bologna, dedicated to Italian music “NOI, NON ERAVAMO SOLO CANZONETTE”.
Il Volo in front of the photo of Modugno while singing “Volare”.
Il Volo in front of the photo of Dalla, author of “Caruso”.
On December 19th, Il Volo performed in Monte Carlo, in the “Christmas Time in Monte Carlo” event.
Then, Il Volo announces a surprise for all the fans, a freeandlive mini concert, which will be held on 20 December outdoors, in front of the Milan train station.
Unfortunately on December 20 there is a horrible weather, it rains a lot and there is cold wind, but as promised, the boys do the mini live as announced.
We must make a big and warm applause to the guys who performed despite the impossible weather, but also to the fans who attended, despite the cold, wind and tremendous rain.
On RAI1 there is a television program I SOLITI IGNOTI, which is done for charity purposes,TELETHON. During the broadcast there will be many guests, including IL Volo, the aim is to guess who the people are, through clues. In the end, Il Volo knows exactly how to guess and the result of the evening of the game and the phone calls from home will go to charity.
The program was a lot of fun, the boys also sang two songs. Many laughs. Here is a video of the whole evening.
If you have a problem hearing the audio part of “Grande Amore” a link below will take you directly to the Sicilian Facebook Fan Page. You should be able to hear it there. 😊
From Mexico, images of NAVIDAD ATZECA arrive, where Il Volo sings “O HOLY NIGHT”, recorded during their last visit to Mexico.
What a sweet and beautiful song, Christmas is coming !! ❤️
Ignazio, Piero and Gianluca extend their best wishes with this video.
Gianluca and Luna
New concert dates have also been announced: June 16 – Dusseldorf June 18 – Frankfurt June 29 – Barcelona July 11 – Lodz July 13 – Bulgaria July 15 – Bucharest
During the Christmas holidays, Piero went to Cortina for a holiday in the snow, together with friends.
A nice piano arrived at Gianluca’s house and, in a short time, Gian cheered us up with this nice video, where he sings and PLAYS his new piano, good Gianluca!!
Instead on New Year’s Eve, a short video published byRed Ronniemade us discover Ignazio playing the guitar during a song with friends.
And on the first day of the new year, this beautiful video was released. It was done with the aim of sensitizing young people to turn the radio volume down or off while parking, because loud music could divert attention from the maneuver.
Very nice guys, who lent themselves to this video !!
In short, a very busy period for Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca, but it did not end here, on January 3, they will be guests on RAI1 in the LA PORTA DEI SOGNI program, also they should be guests of PORTA A PORTA with Bruno Vespa.
I can’t wait to see them again at Porta a Porta !!
I want to apologize to all of you for being absent for a long time, without any explanation, from this site.
I am very sorry that this happened and that I was not present for Christmas and New Year greetings.
I have had a very difficult period, because of health problems in my family, which have not yet been solved.
It wasn’t very happy days, but I have thought of you all.
So even if late, accept my best wishes for a happy 2020 year, beautiful concerts are waiting for you!!
It’s been a busy couple of days for Il Volo. A concert in Albany, appearing remotely from Barclays Center on Porta a Porta to celebrate the show’s 20th year, and then performing for the audience last night. Enjoy! There is more video content at my Facbook Page here.
Roccaraso is over and The Guys are as busy as ever, attending the Armani show during Fashion Week and having the Porta a Porta special airing tonight (stayed tuned for anything I can find about those events).
My article today is a little disjointed. I’m sorry; I lost track of which videos I posted in which order. Enjoy them all!
From Beverly from <3 Il Volo <3 Pittsburgh Fan Club:
“This video is from the start of the concert in Roccaraso on June 18. Our guys announced that the concert was being dedicated to little Iaia (Yaya), who has been undergoing treatment for Nueroblastoma (a cancer which generally originates in the adrenal glands). She desperately needed treatment in the US. After the people of Abruzzo (the region in which Iaia’s family lives) began the campaign “Un Sogno Di Iaia” (Iaia’s Dream), with the help of Il Volo (more so Gianluca, himself being from Abruzzo), she and her family were able to travel to Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in NY and she received the treatment she needed. The ever-compassionate and tender-hearted Gianluca is visibly quite emotional, and his sweet brother Ignazio comforts him. Bless his heart’!”
Roccaraso is a town and commune of the province of L’Aquila in the Abruzzo region of central Italy, and boasts some of the best downhill and cross country ski runs around. It is beautiful, but the thought of winter gives me chest pain. 😉
The celebration of Il Volo’s victory in San Remo continued this week when The Guys appeared on Porta a Porta with Bruno Vespa again.
Porta a Porta seems to be a great show for them. Bruno obviously cares for them a lot vise versa; they always seems to have good energy and audience appreciation–in my opinion–and did I mention they always sound amazing? *school girl sigh*
