It’s Birthday Time Again….

It’s time to get ready for Gian’s birthday!

His big day is a little less than a month away, so we’re starting to plan his special post now.

We will try our best to make sure to get everyone’s greeting in.  As answering each individual e-mail is a task that I cannot undertake right now, I will try to update this post a few times per week with the names of those whose greetings we have received, so if you don’t see your name, let us know.

DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 9

In addition to sending a personalized greeting, you may also participate by submitting your ideas for music to go with our video in the comment section of this post.  If your suggestion is chosen, your name will be added to the credits at the end of the video…so get those thinking caps on!  😀  I will be looking for something that speaks to Gianluca, to who he is and what he likes, and something that will inspire a concept for which I can choose pictures, and I thank you in advance!

  2. A song for Gianluca “Fools rush In”.
Gian everytime I meet you I forget to tell you that you are the best crooner that surpasses Sinatra & any other crooner I have heard now & in the earlier years. You have grown into a stunningly handsome man. HAPPY BIRTHDAY hope your day is the best ever.

    1. Hi Peninahonig, Perhaps Love is a perfect love song for the the magnificent voices of Il Volo. Looking forward to the great harmonies and the special touch of Il Volo. Great pick! Also love for our guys do “ The Impossible Dream”

  3. Wow Kelly !! How time flies !! Seems like we just wished him a Happy Birthday !! I nominate “Can’t Help Falling In Love With You” because we can’t help falling in love with our endearing Gianluca.

  4. John Denver’s gentle ways remind of Gianluca so another of his songs would be good “Leaving on a Jet Plane”. I like also “Sometimes I Dream” sung by Mario Frangoulis.

  5. When Il Volo started out, one of their early albums had a song in French called “Tous les Visage de l’amour” – Great song. of the three guys, Gianluca handled the French text the best. Very natural. Time for another French song. One of the great romantic ballads of all time: ” La Vie en Rose”
Gianluca could do that as a solo or they can do it as a trio.

    1. Myron, I agree “La Vie en Rose” is a good choice.
I would also like to hear Gianluca’s solo of
      “Love Me Tender.”

  6. Dear Gianluca, Buon Compleano, Hronia Polla, Happy Birthday. I know you don’t remember but I got the biggest, sweetest hug from you at a meet and greet. I will never forget it, it meant so much to me. You have a way of making everyone feel so special even for a moment. I 💕 you and your family. Grazie.

  7. Pen, I also think John Denver,s video would be a good choice for Gian. I loved Denver, but I think Gian could even be better. Happy birthday dear Gianluca.

  8. This John Devener song is so beautiful! I never heard lt before & I am a big John Denver fan!! Who is he singing with?? It should be in the Birthday music!! All the choices are wonderful!! I think Eternaly would be great! Have always loved It’s Now Or Never also!! Love the post, Jana!! Eagerly awaiting Part 2. Amore.

  9. Wow! Thank you all for your suggestions! Keep them coming, since I haven’t chosen a song yet. I will be doing a lot of listening over the next few weeks. <3

    1. When I said “puppy love” would be a good song to pick I was half joking.
I have played all the songs people suggested, but even though they are all beautiful, I think “La Vie en Rose” is the most beautiful.

  11. I just became a member of your wonderful group about a week ago and I think I’m doing everything wrong. I tried to email a birthday greeting to Gianluca but sent graphics and a photo and I don’t think it went through because possibly it was not the correct way. I did not receive any acknowledgment nor can I find my name on your list. I also just sent a birthday message via word press and don’t see that either. If you have time please help me do this correctly. I really would love to be a part of all birthday greetings to the Il Volo family. “La Vie en Rose” also gets my vote. They are OUR “La Vie en Rose” ❤️❤️ Thank you so much.
