IL VOLO to LA VITA IN DIRETTA by Daniela

Once again Il Volo was a guest of RAI1 on the LA VITA IN DIRETTA (LIVE LIFE) program.

Their testimony is beautiful, here’s what they said.

Lorella Cuccarini, the presenter of the program, announces in connection from their homes, Ignazio, Gianluca and Piero: Il Volo.

Ignazio immediately shows a sheet with the words “Lorella, you are beautiful.”

Lorella immediately says that Il Volo was on tour in the US and they returned, immediately putting themselves in quarantine, so she asks them how they are living these days.

Piero says that the first thing they did on their return, was the self-denunciation to put themselves in voluntary isolation, they are behaving responsibly, because it is the wisest thing to do. The message they have to send is to stay home.
Fortunately, quarantine stimulates their creativity and thanks to social media and technology, they are not so far away.

Lorella recalls that they participated in a charity event, together with many other Italian singers, in support of an Italy torn by events, and asks what it represented for them.

Ignazio replies that all the artists are making their contribution towards the people who follow them and, beyond their discography, it is nice to be united and be able to sing freely for their fans and all the people who cannot see them now in concert.

La Vita 02

Lorella asks Gianluca how much was missing at the end of their American tour and Gianluca confirms that a week was missing and they had to cancel three concerts.

When they returned home they found a deserted Italy, a truly painful moment and people in these moments need hope.

Gian says that he appreciated the Pope’s words very much and it was heartbreaking to see him in an empty St. Peter’s Square. In addition, Gian also recalls that today April 2 is 15 years since the death of Pope John Paul II, one of the most charismatic popes.

He goes on to say that, we are experiencing a tragic period all over the world, even in America the situation is deteriorating.

Gian recommends attention to guys of their age, says that nobody is omnipotent, nobody is immune, so you have to be responsible.

Gian tells Lorella that the three of them must be an example for the boys of their age, therefore responsibly, for the good of all, one must stay at home. Particularly for older people, and Gian says that he himself has not yet seen his grandfather, who lives near his home.

La Vita 03

The presenter says that Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio are in their cities (one in the south, one in the center and one in the north) and practically represent the whole of Italy, with great differences depending on the area, and therefore asks everyone, how is the situation from them.

Piero says that in Sicily, health facilities are not able to face the difficulties due to the virus, confirms that he and some Sicilian artists have started a fundraiser.

People understood the gravity of the moment. He says that after the fifteen days of isolation are over, he went out to do the swab and found that the streets were empty, so he is proud to have seen that the Italians are responsible people.

La Vita 04

Ignazio says he doesn’t know what the situation is like, because he has always been at home since he returned.

He confirms, as Gian has already said, that we must be responsible and also think of others, stay at home, we do it, also for others, because it takes very little to infect.

Ignazio says he is always at home, he goes to the studio (he made a small recording corner for the music), the dining room, then again to the studio and then to bed.

He says that you have to take advantage of these moments to enjoy the family. He says that he spends more time with his parents, who instead he usually sees little and also advises all young people to do this, because taken from the rhythm of life, many members of the families don’t know each other well.

La Vita 05

Gianluca says that they are privileged, but there are people who are suffering so much and are not even able to shop for food. He would like to be close to all those people and help them, because he reads about people who really need help. He saw that in some places people have organized baskets with food and signs that say “Those who can, put food.” – “Those who cannot, take food.”

The presenters thank Piero, Gianluca and Ignazio very much for the nice words, the beautiful examples they are giving and greet them with affection and admiration.

La Vita 06

Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca, once again, thank you for being as you are. ❤️

Daniela

  1. So proud of these three They are always representing good and caring
Love the videos they are posting Piero on Billboard looked like a really fun interview although didn’t understand a word Watch everything no matter what language. Ignazio has been posting some really heartfelt videos Piero’s AveMaria was beautiful and Gianluca’s videos have also
been wonderful. Thanks for the translation and stay safe

  2. We in America are suffering so much for all our states, and for Italy and all over the world. I felt so sad for Gianluca, Piero and Ignazio having to cancel three concerts and arriving to a quiet, empty, sad Italy due to COVID19.

The RAI interview was wonderful– letting us know all about their heartfelt feelings. I hope they are now out of self-quarantine, and back with their families and friends. You have good, kind hearts and that’s what we love about you.

We will all be vigilant, follow the self distancing, and stay home as much as possible. And wash our hands, don’t touch our face. Italians are very affectionate people who like to hug and kiss, however, for this time until we can see the end of this corona vurus, we will sow our affection with a big smile. We will get through this stronger and will realize how precious life is.

Let’s all say our prayers and celebrate the upcoming holidays–Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, and give praise to the Lord who watches over us.
    Amen.

    God Bless.

    Love, Elisa Marie-NY

    1. Yes, Elisa Marie, it was a good interview and the guys still showed their good heart.
Contagion is everywhere, and we all have to follow the rules. Many things will change and we must have a lot of patience.
But in the end everything will pass.

  3. I too watch all the appearances, even though I do not understand the words. There is always feeling in the words. To have them translated is a real gift and I very much appreciate it. These “boys” of ours love their country and those in it. They are actively communicating what to do to all , but especially their peers. what an example they are setting.
Here in California we are home bound, except for picking up medicine and food. Sometimes we share these tasks for our neighbors. Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero, I pray for you, your families, friends and all else in your nation.

    1. Kay, now, all over the world the rules are the same, stay at home and wash your hands well.
Our guys are giving many good messages to follow.
Very well guys. Solidarity in these serious moments is necessary.

  4. Thanks again Daniela and Pat, I hope you and your families are well. I am so proud of those young men, and I am thrilled when they appear live. I don’t speak Italian and only understand a little but I know that what they are saying comes from their hearts. I think they know how much we love them too. May God bless and keep them and their families healthy. Daniela and Pat I can’t tell you how much I appreciate and look forward to these translations.

    1. RoseMarie, I too am very proud of these guys.
Under one interview there was a comment from a person who said these three guys are always interviewed and I replied that maybe the three of them can give positive examples, which is very much needed today.

    2. We are well, thank you Rose Marie! As always it’s my pleasure to help post these stories!

  5. Grazie mille, Daniela as always! I’ve also been enjoying all the guys vocal posts, especially yesterday Ignazio with a young guitarist and a lovely gal singing “That’s What Friends Are For”, and today a duet with the same pretty young blonde singing “Shallow” from “A Star Is Born”. It all helps me get my Il Volo “fix” for the day!

  6. Hope you and family are doing OK. We are supposed to “Stay in place” till end of April. Every day I plan an “escape” in my head. I check different places for the boys. I feel so bad for all the artists who have lost their ability to perform and make a living.

    1. Regina, please, organize your escape, only with your head, but stay home !!
      It is really very important.
Not only do artists not earn a living. Many people are hungry and have nothing, it’s a real disaster. I just read that in the village next to mine, a man collected food from the shops and markets and made packages for the people of the neighboring country. 80 people went.

  7. I was fortunate to see them 3/01/20. I really think this was the biggest and most exciting happening in my life. I truly love them with my heart for the kindness I see in them. I told them at M&G that their parents did a wonderful job in raising them to be so gentle and kind to those they meet. They are very professional and they work hard, I saw them at Sound Check and I was amazed at the strength of their voices and how it carries with the right setting on the acoustic system. I give them these words because we can all learn from them to be kinder and gentle with those we love. Thank you Daniela and all who post their words and pictures for their fans to enjoy. I don’t know if it will ever happen, but if I get the chance and my health stays okay, I want to visit Italy and see the beauty that is shown in pictures. A big hug to IL Volo for making my time seeing you one of the greatest moments of my life. I’ve lived 83 years and I have to say “Gianluca, Piero, Ignazio you are the whip cream on my desert and I enjoy your music and you have broaden my horizon with your beautiful music. Much love and good wishes to you.

    1. Sassylady, dreaming is good and Il Volo made you dream and opened your mind to new horizons.
You will see, you will come to Italy and you will enjoy everything. Dreaming is good.
      Grazie mille for the compliments.

  8. Thank you for the translation! It was a somber interview, as it should be at this time. Hopefully everyone will continue to heed the distancing rules, even as the situation finally seems to be improving in Italy. It’s good that the guys continue to set a good example by staying home, even though their quarantine period is now over. I will be hiding out in my house for a while yet as well. Stay safe everyone!

    1. Yes Karen, a sad interview, but the message is really good.
I believe that the boys were finally able to reunite with their parents, in fact Ignazio already says so. Three weeks have passed since their arrival.
Things here seem to improve, but slowly. Stay all safe, it’s the only thing that fights the virus.

  9. Thanks as always Pat and Daniela. We never tire of hearing or seeing Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca. And they never disappoint.! Their parents must be so proud of them on so many levels. It is kind of them to share their music and their lives with us. I guess they know how much we love and care about them and their families. God bless them and everyone.

    1. Yes, Margaret, I think Ignazio, Piero and Gianluca know well how much they are loved by their fans.
And how it could be different. They fill us with joy and know how to be adorable.

  10. Daniela, thanks for another great insight into the character of our dear guys. Please take care of yourself. You are special!
